Virginia Young Democrat Caught Registering Dead WWII Veteran to Vote
The Washington Post reported on Thursday that one of those individuals was Richard Allen Claybrook Sr., who died in 2014 at the age of 87. Claybrook was known by a clerk in the voting registration office as a former Fairfax elementary school principal.
The 19 applications were submitted through HarrisonburgVotes, which is run by Joe Fitzgerald, a prominent local Democrat. Fitzgerald is chairman of his congressional district’s Democratic Committee.
Fitzgerald told reporters that his organization had no knowledge of Spieles’s actions and fired him immediately after Spieles confessed.

FEC Dems lay groundwork to ban Fox, WSJ political coverage
WITH THE UNITED NATIONS NOW RULING THE INTERNET, THIS IS A VIRTUAL CERTAINTY. I GUARANTEE IT.
In a last-minute submission Wednesday, a top Democrat on the evenly split FEC proposed that the Thursday meeting of the commission begin the process to prohibit companies with foreign ownership as small as 5 percent “from funding expenditures, independent expenditures, or electioneering communications.”
Several media giants have at least 5 percent foreign ownership, some with as much as 25 percent. Included is News Corp, which owns Fox, the New York Post and the Wall Street Journal. The New York Times also has foreign ownership, as do many politically active firms like Ben & Jerry’s.
That prohibition could include Fox commentator Sean Hannity or Wall Street Journal editorial. And, according to one analysis, because foreign nationals also are prohibited from making electioneering communications, those media would not even be able to mention Donald Trump or Hillary Rodham Clinton, even if just covering them.
Democrats on the commission have been on a three-year campaign to limit the voice of conservative media, stopped by Republican commissioners who have warned that the First Amendment is under attack in the FEC.

Just when you thought the United Nations could not sink any lower, a UN panel has issued a report recommending that the United States pay “reparations” to African-Americans for its “legacy of colonial history, enslavement, racial subordination and segregation, racial terrorism and racial inequality.” The report accuses the United States of maintaining “institutional and structural racial discrimination and racism against people of African descent.”
The panel that issued this claptrap is the self-styled Working Group of Experts on People of African Descent, which reported on the visit of three of its members to the United States from January 19-29 2016. The Working Group of Experts on People of African Descent reports to the UN’s dysfunctional Human Rights Council, which the Obama administration decided to join and American taxpayers are thus helping to pay for.

What Responsibility Do Black Americans Have to Prevent Police Shootings?
Federal tallies of lethal police shootings are notoriously incomplete; the Post sought to correct that lacuna by searching news sites and other information sources for reports of officer-involved homicides. The results: As of Jan. 15, the Post had documented 987 victims of fatal police shootings in 2015, about twice the number historically recorded by federal agencies. Whites were 50 percent of those victims, and blacks were 26 percent. By comparison, whites are 62 percent of the U.S. population, and blacks, 13 percent.
If anything, given that “Blacks commit violent crimes at 7 to 10 times the rate that whites do,” black Americans seem to be underrepresented in the number of people shot by the police.

A Contrast of Personalities

There have been two names in the news the past two days for markedly different reasons. One, a gentle soul who passed quietly after a three year battle with Alzheimers; the other a jaded biracial thug, angry at the country who has made him fabulously wealthy, refusing to get his ass off the bench he sits on for $11 million a year for the national anthem to “make a statement.” That statement seems to be: I want in on the attention the rest of the racially aggrieved victims are getting.

Gene Wilder, star of ‘Young Frankenstein’ and ‘Willy Wonka,’ is dead at 83
The comedy legend died late Sunday in Stamford, Conn. from complications from Alzheimer’s disease, a condition the actor kept private for three years so as not to disappoint fans.

“He simply couldn’t bear the idea of one less smile in the world,” his nephew said.

Wilder’s big break came in 1968 when he was cast in Brooks’ “The Producers” opposite Zero Mostel. Wilder had met Brooks a few years earlier when Brooks was working on the script, then just a screenplay called “Springtime for Hitler.”

Woody Allen’s “Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex* (But Were Afraid to Ask)” was his first hit, after which Wilder convinced Brooks to direct a film he had come up with himself: “Young Frankenstein.” The black-and-white slapstick comedy was a smash, and was shortly followed by another Brooks hit, “Blazing Saddles.”

Wilder was close friends with Richard Pryor and their contrasting personas — Wilder uptight, Pryor loose — were ideal for comedy. They co-starred in four films: “Silver Streak,” ”Stir Crazy,” ”See No Evil, Hear No Evil” and “Another You.”

His third marriage to fellow comedian Gilda Radner, an original “Saturday Night Live” cast member and star in her own right, lasted from 1984 to 1989, when she died of complications from ovarian cancer.

HE AND GILDA ARE TOGETHER AGAIN. SHE WAS, TO MY MIND, A BRILLIANT COMIC MIND PERHAPS A NOTCH BELOW THE LIKES OF LUCILLE BALL.

Wilder, a Milwaukee native, was born Jerome Silberman on June 11, 1935. His father was a Russian emigre, his mother was of Polish descent.

When he was 6, Wilder’s mother suffered a heart attack that left her a semi-invalid. He soon began improvising comedy skits to entertain her, the first indication of his future career.

Kaepernick knew his show of non-patriotism would be controversial, but said that the issues he was addressing were “bigger than football.”

Summer in the City

Growing up in the 1960’s we all remember certain songs that we related to a date or significant event in our formative years. John Sebastian and The Lovin’ Spoonful recorded this in 1966. I was 16 and had just gotten a drivers license. Every Saturday night my grandparents would go out to eat at the same restaurant. I knew I had about 2 hours after they left to take granddad’s 1960 Chevy station wagon and cruise the two lane blacktops around the area, radio blasting. Good times. Only got caught when they came home early once.

Breitbart News – Actor Bryan Cranston will vote for Hillary Clinton in this year’s presidential race because he agrees with the presumptive Democrat nominee’s “platform” — and thinks her chief rival, presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump, lacks the presidential qualities that have made President Obama so successful.

In an interview with the Daily Beast, the 60-year-old Breaking Bad star said it still doesn’t feel “real” to him that a “supreme narcissist” like Trump could become President of the United States.

You can hardly open a browser anymore without being inundated by race grievances, acts of violence, liberal posturing and the like. Barry is hosting a meeting of race hustlers in the House That Slaves Built, including Pimp Daddy Sharptongue and paid agitator DeRay McKesson. Ostensibly it’s supposed to be a way to bring the law-abiding citizens and the democrat base together, like the infamous beer summit. Given the company, they’ll probably serve malt liquor. I heard Colt .45 is popular.
The ESPYs last night also turned into a whinefest about racial profiling. This is the same bunch that gave a courage award to a has-been athlete who put on a dress last year. So much for that.

Why I Prefer Old Westerns

The republican primary looks more like a schoolyard game of ‘king of the hill,’ where everybody is trying to knock off the kid at the top of the hill. Cruz and Rubio are both taking shots at Trump who, in actuality, has shot himself in the proverbial foot time and again by addressing David Duke’s endorsement, the Trump University fraud, and blaming the judge in that lawsuit of being biased because he’s Hispanic. Nothing seems to make the Trumpkins waver, as he still draws thousands to hear him hurl threats and insults at everybody.

The Oscars were last night. The annual orgy of self-congratulation by stilted, jaded millionaires whining about climate change, gay rights and diversity, just not in their lily-white world. I read a lot of articles about the gala and decided not to pollute this site with all the meaningless pap.

Multi-multi millionaire finally got his award and used the occasion to whine about climate change:

But the most dramatic moment came towards the end of his speech, when he spoke forcefully about a cause that’s long been near and dear to his heart: climate change. “The Revenant was about a man’s relationship to the natural world, a world that we collectively felt in 2015 as the hottest year in recorded history. Here’s why I prefer westerns:
The bad guy always gets caught/killed in the end
The cowboys never peed or pooped…no toilets in the west
Dance hall girls never took cowboys upstairs for a bucking bronco ride
The six-guns held 37 shots without reloading
When people got shot,there was no recoil backwards and no blood around the wound
The Indians were all white guys wearing shirts so only their faces needed makeup
They all had headbands to hold om their cheap wigs
The good guys could shoot two redskins off galloping horses with one shot
The Indians spoke in deliciously racist terms like:
‘white man speak with forked tongue’
‘me sendum to happy hunting ground’
‘you needum much wampum for Injun maid’
The walk-on actors never had guns… only the main characters went strapped
It was all in good, clean fun. Something political correctness precludes today.

As card-carrying members of the liberal-socialist party, the aggrieved African-American victim society never tire of whining about seeing racism behind every tree. Their latest cause célèbre has been the fact no blactors were nominated for an Academy Award the past two years. The fact they have their own networks, own award shows, and their own beauty pageant, which are exclusive to their race… no whites allowed. Still, they demand all of theirs and half of yours. If you don’t give it to them, they’ll take it. Personally, I quit watching these self-congratulatory exercises in blatant narcissism long ago.

With your forebearance, I’d like to dedicate today’s post to a national treasue that slipped away from us Saturday. Born Maureen Fitzsimmons, she became a star amongst stars as Maureen O’Hara.

Maureen O’Hara (born Maureen FitzSimons; 17 August 1920 – 25 October 2015) was an Irish-American actress and singer. The famously red-headed O’Hara was known for playing fiercely passionate but sensible heroines, and often worked with director John Ford and longtime friend John Wayne. She was one of the last surviving stars from the Golden Age of Hollywood.

From an early age, she wanted to become an actress and took lessons. She was given a screen test, which was deemed unsatisfactory, but Charles Laughton saw something in her when he later saw it. He arranged for her to co-star with him in the 1939 British film Jamaica Inn. She also co-starred with him in the Hollywood production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, released the same year. From there, she went on to enjoy a long and highly successful career. She made a number of films with John Wayne – the actor with whom she is most closely associated – and director John Ford, often both together in the same production; several were westerns, a notable exception being The Quiet Man (1952).

She came from a time when Hollywood made movies you could take the whole family to and leave the theater feeling good. To lump her in the category of “actress” along with the likes of Julia Roberts, Susan Sarandon, and the talentless Lena Dunham is an absolute obscenity. I feel a sense of loss as I feel when my boyhood heroes fade away. It is heartbreaking to see what passes for entertainment today, as everybody tries to make a political statement or stress over being politically correct. You cannot escape the graphic violence, explicit sexual themes, and filmmakers who want to “change the world.” I have not paid to go see a movie since the early 2000’s and don’t anticipate ever going again. I’ll stick to my classic westerns where the good guys still won.
