BLESSED ARE THE MEEK: It doesn’t mean what you think it does – The dictionary says “meek” now means:
- Showing patience and humility; gentle.
- Easily imposed on; submissive.
That is NOT what Jesus was recommending to us. The Greek word that unfortunately gets translated as “meek” is “praus” (pronounced prah-oos).

On July 15, 2019, Fox News published an Opinion piece by Abby Johnson, a leading pro-life leader, director of And Then There Were None, which helps abortion workers leave their jobs and find life-affirming ones, and author of “Unplanned: The Dramatic True Story of a Former Planned Parenthood Leader’s Eye-Opening Journey across the Life Line”, which has been made into a feature film of the same name.
Excerpts from “I went to border to help people. Members of Congress were shocked when I asked them to help, too” –
“We collected over $120,000 worth of items and a man from a local church in Houston donated an 18-wheeler to haul the items to the respite center run by Catholic Charities in McAllen, Texas.

The Parable of the Good Samaritan
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi used the Bible to condemn President Trump’s immigration policies.
“It should be a sign to us that today’s Catholic Gospel reading is the Good Samaritan, where Jesus teaches us to love our neighbors as ourselves and treat them with mercy,” said Pelosi, calling Trump’s ICE raids “the opposite of mercy.
