I am disgusted that the media has succeeded in driving a good candidate like Herman Cain out of the race with weak, wholly unsubstantiated allegations against his character. The American people deserve better from the Fourth Estate. They bent over backwards to hide John Edwards’ mistress and illegitimate child while he was running for office!

They’re terrified of Cain
It’s easy to tell which GOP candidates the Dems think Obama can beat. They’re the ones the media is going easy on.
It’s even easier to tell which GOP candidate the Dems are terrified will win the nomination. He’s the one the media is trying to destroy.

“Once you go conservative black, better watch your back”
By Ann Coulter – November 30, 2011
With the mainstream media giddily reporting on an alleged affair involving Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain, how long can it be before they break the news that their 2004 vice presidential candidate conceived a “love child” with his mistress, Rielle Hunter?
The left is trying to destroy Cain with a miasma of hazy accusations leveled by three troubled women. Considered individually, the accusations are utterly unbelievable. They are even less credible taken together. This is how liberals destroy a man, out of nothing.
[Read the rest @ http://www.wnd.com/?pageId=373081]
… their only evidence is their word.
But this is how liberals dirty you up when they’ve got nothing: They launch a series of false accusations, knowing that Americans with busy lives won’t follow each story to the end and notice that they were all blind alleys.
The liberal media is an old story, but it’s still a big story when it comes to creating the impression of scandal out of thin air.
Most people say, “Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.” I say, “Where there’s smoke around a conservative, there are journalists furiously rubbing two sticks together.”

MIKA BRZEZINSKI makes me wanna puke
Brzezinski on November 21, 2011 edition of MSNBC’s Morning Joe — “Wow. It’s really not surprising, coming from me, but that’s about the most arrogant and un-self-aware — and those are probably the only words I can use — thing for any politician in this Republican field to say….Someone needs a bath, and I don’t think it’s the people from Occupy Wall Street….It’s absolutely disgusting. It’s a very angry way to start the show. I’m extremely sorry. But it’s the first time I’d seen that [clip], and it literally made my skin crawl.”
It made her skin crawl? Really?!
Look at this clip from April 2011 and keep in mind that it’s the SAME WOMAN — http://www.mrctv.org/node/76517.
Now .. TRY to imagine (if you can!) any Right-Winger (a) actually PLAYING a vile, personal attack video about Ted Kennedy’s brain cancer (provided one existed) on a morning news and talk show and then (b) LAUGHING uncontrollably at how very, very funny said video was.
BILL MAHER makes me wanna puke
Maher quoted in November 21, 2011, Newsweek — “When I point out that Sarah Palin is a vainglorious braggart, a liar, a whiner, a bully who sells patriotism like a pimp, and the leader of a family of inbred weirdos straight out of The Hills Have Eyes, that’s not sexist. I’m saying it because it’s true.”
I think Glenn Beck is fairly comparable to Bill Maher, not in humor or perspicacity, but in that they both do political comedy and political commentary. Try to imagine Beck saying, “When I point out that Barack Obama is a vainglorious braggart, a liar, a whiner, a bully who sells patriotism like a pimp, and the leader of a family of inbred weirdos straight out of The Hills Have Eyes, that’s not racist. I’m saying it because it’s true.” Can you?
Well … actually the braggart, liar, whiner and bully parts, sure. Because they’re all true statements directed at the behavior of an elected public official.
What I can’t imagine is Beck making disgusting remarks about Obama’s family. And if he did … how BALLISTIC do you think the media reaction would be about it? I’m thinking weeks of screaming RAAAAACISM!!!!! and condemning Beck to the fiery afterlife they don’t believe in.
Did you know that, all during 2007, the media speculated on Al Gore as a possible candidate and, even after it was clear he would not run, Gore still tied with Edwards in the polls?
Remind you of anyone?
Recall any Republicans making gratuitously repulsive remarks about the family of not-running-for-president Al Gore?
After all, he hails from the Great Bible Belt State of Tennessee where everyone is a racist, red-neck, bitterly clinging cracker with a family tree that doesn’t fork … unless they’re Democrats, in which case it doesn’t matter how many lies or stupid remarks they make, they’re all oh-so-BRILLIANT

and oh-so-TOLERANT of others

If Gore had a disabled child and one of ours had made a remark like Maher did about Palin’s family, I’m thinking we’d all know about it, because the media would’ve played it about a bazillion times after which they’d pull their chins and seriously discuss how STOOOPID and INTOLERANT such attitudes are.

Let’s revisit the 2007 race for the Democratic nomination for President, shall we? In November 2007, there were TEN Democrats running for the nomination: Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John Edwards, Bill Richardson, Dennis Kucinich, Joe Biden, Mike Gravel, Christopher Dodd, Tom Vilsack and Evan Bayh.
So try to imagine, it’s 2007 and, let’s say, Rush Limbaugh comes out with this gem: “You’ve got to feel very bad for Joe Biden. I mean, he’s been led, so far, by Edwards, Gore, Clinton and Obama. I’m rooting for him. You know? Because, look, in a country with only two political parties, the Democrat can always win. I mean, at least he eats with a knife and fork. I mean, he is all that stands between us and the rise of the apes.”
Can you imagine the SHRIEKING from the Left Stream Media about the RACIST and SEXIST references to Obama and Clinton as “apes”?
So can I.
Chris Matthews makes me wanna puke
On November 15, 2011, Larry Elder asked Chris Matthews if he considers himself an “objective, down the middle journalist.”
Matthews said, “No, I’m not down the middle. I’m slightly to the left.”
Elder: “Slightly to the left?”
Matthews: “I’d say, 40 yard line.”
Speaking of “un-self-aware” … THIS is “40 yard line”? Seriously?!

That old double standard
If a Republican had said there were 57 states, it would’ve been replayed on every mainstream newscast for a week.

Newt takes media to task
By Chrissy the Hyphenated
Nov 7, 2011: Newt Gingrich appeared on NBC Today, but all co-host Ann Curry wanted to talk about was the allegations against Herman Cain.
Happily, Newt used the opportunity wisely. Here are the juicy bits –
CURRY: Good to be with you as well, sir. Can Herman Cain not answer these lingering questions about sexual harassment allegations and still win the Republican nomination, in your view?
GINGRICH: Well, that will be up to the American people. If they conclude that anonymous allegations from people who don’t want to be identified, involving purely civil activities, that the American people could well decide that they want a solution-oriented leader more than they want a scandal. …
CURRY: … If you are right, that it is possible that the American public could actually decide to overlook these allegations, what would it mean for the party to have a Republican nominee for president, with unanswered questions about sexual harassment, what would it do to your party’s chances of defeating Barack Obama?
GINGRICH: What does it mean to the elite news media that nobody in the country ever walks up to us and raises questions you all raise? … I just think there’s a huge gap between the gossip that fascinates political reporters and the average person’s concern about the price of housing, the availability of jobs, solving the budget deficit without crushing the middle class. A lot of things that, frankly, at a substance level are dramatically more important to most Americans. …
CURRY: … are you saying that questions about the character of a presidential candidate don’t matter?
GINGRICH: No. Questions matter a lot. I’m saying that when the news media goes and finds an anonymous report about an anonymous incident, about which you have remarkably limited information, and you decide that matters more than every other issue in the campaign, that may put your judgment in doubt.
