Obama’s playfully earnest PR clowns

2014_06 Jay Carney BHO's old Press Sec

Asked whether he had ever lied to the media, Jay Carney stated, “The answer is no.” That, of course, was a lie. Here are just a few of Carney’s biggest lies:

  • In April, an email from deputy national security advisor Ben Rhodes dated September 14, 2012, emerged in which Rhodes explicitly stated that then-UN ambassador Susan Rice should say the “protests are rooted in an Internet video.”  Carney said the email was not about Benghazi.
  • In mid-May 2014, the American Legion called the resignation of top VA health official Dr. Robert Petzel “a continuation of business as usual [because] Dr. Petzel was already scheduled to retire this year.”  Carney said the American Legion had praised VA for making Petzel retire.
  • As late as October of 2013, Carney stated (again), “The fact of the matter is, if you had insurance on the individual market prior to the passage of the Affordable Care Act, and you have that plan today, you can keep it, you’re grandfathered in forever. No matter how crummy the plan is.”  After Politifact named this the 2013 Lie of the Year, Carney said no one had ever seriously made that claim.

If the boss has to pay, then the boss gets to say

As of 10:42 a.m. … if 1,950 more people donate ANY amount to LifeSiteNews’ summer campaign before the end of today, a generous donor will contribute an extra $50,000 to the campaign. This site is the premiere Pro-Life news organization. They more than deserve $5 or $10.

Note: The site pops up $35, but it can be changed to another amount and I know they will take $10, cuz I just gave it to them. They will also take $5, but they told me one time that the fee on credit cards makes $5 not too profitable for them. However, the $50K donor is only looking at the number of DONORS, not the amounts, so if you only have $5 to spare, please do.  Thanks.

Sandra Fluke is absurd

Sadly, she’s running in San Freakingcisco, so she’ll probably win. And she’ll fit right in with the other Leftie Whiners in the State Senate of Nuts, Berries and Bankruptcy. Her campaign has featured a picture of her with boxing gloves and a big claim to have “won her fight with Rush Limbaugh.”  Yesterday, she claimed, “My fight with Limbaugh clearly show you the kind of leader that I am.”

2014_05 31 Sandra Fluke is absurd

Sandra Fluke’s ONE public “accomplishment” has been to demand Congress force other people to pay for her birth control. Her “fight” with Limbaugh was over him calling her a “slut” after she told Congress that she was a 30-year-old college student who couldn’t afford the $3000 she’d spent on birth control. Her big “fight” with Rush Limbaugh started with him calling her a slut and ended with him apologizing. Yeah. “Leadership.” Uh huh. Riiiiiiiiight.

Tweeters had fun:

  • Yes, actually it DOES define you. It’s the only reason anyone knows you. The only thing that gave you any measure of fame.
  • You defined yourself when you went before Congress demanding that we pay for your contraception.
  • I don’t think “leader” means what you think it means.
  • “Pitiful” is the word you’re looking for.
  • That she still references Limbaugh speaks volumes.
  • Rush lives rent-free in her head.
  • Wanting Americans to pay for your your contraception is being a leader? Yep you’re a Democrat all right.
  • It shows you can play the victim and get on talk shows. What kind of leadership is that?
  • It shows she’s the kind of leader who wants other people to assume the costs of her decisions.
  • I didn’t know great leaders acted like victims.
  • She learned everything she knows about leadership from Barack Obama.
  • She showed what kind of a “leader” she was when she held a rally in a parking space.

2012_10 Sandra Fluke has Ocare rally in parking space

Her claim to have spent more than $3000 on “birth control” always struck me as deeply fraudulent. Nothing but ABORTION costs that much and abortion was allegedly not part of the whole “free birth control” thing. Except tax-payers funding abortion has ALWAYS been what Obamacare and the HHS mandate have been about.  The only people who don’t get that are the Christian Democrats who still have their heads stuck up where the sun don’t shine. I pity them when they get to judgment.

Veterans Affairs Management Accountability Act

May 21, 2014: The House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed (390 to 33) the Veterans Affairs Management Accountability Act. If the Senate passes and the President signs this bill into law, it would be much easier (read: possible) for the scandal-plagued VA to fire employees based on poor performance (read: clean out dead wood). YAYS were bipartisan; NAYS came from Democrats ONLY.

May 22, 2014: The day before Memorial Day weekend started, Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) asked for the Senate to bring this bill to a vote.  Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT) objected on behalf of Senate Democrats. As chair of the Senate Committee on Veterans Affairs, Sanders has the power to delay ANY action on this important bill INDEFINITELY. He says in the video below he is going to hold a HEARING …. in June.

Senate Dems Block Veterans Bill [:33]

Q. Guess who hates the idea of dead wood getting fired?
A. The UNION that protects said dead wood from accountability.

Q. Guess what Socialist Senator is owned by the UNIONS?
A. Bernie Sanders.

Remember back in 2009 when Democrats kept screaming about how Republicans opposed Obamacare because we supposedly WANTED people to DIE?

Democrat Alan Grayson Claims “Republicans Want You To Die” (:19)

May 15, 2014: Senator Sanders justified his “sit on all VA reform legislation until hell freezes over” policy by telling CNN “We know that people die every day.”

Sanders also claimed, “There are problems, and we have got to get at those problems. But we need the facts to lead us to where we want to go.” But Congress AND the TWO presidents have KNOWN SINCE 2005 that the VA was failing veterans by delaying care, wasting money and falsifying their records!

Sanders NEVER served in the military, so why is he CHAIR of the Senate’s Committee on Veterans Affairs? Because he votes the way Harry Reid tells him to vote. Officially, he is an Independent (not a Democrat), but he describes himself as a “Democratic Socialist” which means he’s not the centrist his Independent status might suggest, but rather a Progressive Obamacrat.

Club for Growth produced these funny ads on behalf of candidates in Alaska and Arkansas.

Parrot (Alaska)

Parrot (Arkansas)

At the beginning of the 20th century, federal taxes accounted for 3% of the nation’s gross domestic product (GDP); today, they approach 100% of GDP. Today’s high federal tax rates push up the cost of all consumer goods and services, leaving ordinary people with less money to buy food, clothing, and other needed items.

At the beginning of the 20th century, federal tax rules filled just a few hundred pages; today, they fill more than 60,000 pages. Today’s federal tax regulations punish producers while rewarding parasites, which reduces economic growth and further damages ordinary people.

what-will

Club for Growth works to promote a high growth economy by supporting pro-growth political campaigns coupled with legislative involvement, issue advocacy, research, training and educational activity. Club for Growth believes the goal of tax policy should be to raise the amount of money needed to fund legitimate functions of government while doing the least amount of damage to the economy and respecting the principle of treating taxpayers equally. Obamacare’s 8 million lie

When the White House ballyhooed their big 8 MILLION number, they wanted us to assume this meant 8 Million previously uninsured people were now covered. But that is not at all what has happened.

They’re counting as “enrolled” anyone who put a policy into an on-line shopping cart, NOT people who finished all the paperwork, were approved or PAID for the product.

Even worse, a May 7, 2014 report to the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations says there are a lot of duplicate enrollees in the system:

“Because of the challenges that surfaced with the launch of the Exchanges in October 2013, some consumers were advised to create a new account and enroll again. As a result, insurers have many duplicate enrollments in their system for which they never received any payment. … that data is still reported.”

The White House ballyhooed “success” because they’d achieved “8 Million enrollees” while their goal had been 7 Million. The 67% who have paid one premium amount to only 5.36 Million … that’s a long way from 7 Million.

OBAMACARE Cancelled plan you liked

Even worse, only 25-33% of that 5.36 Million were uninsured prior to Obamacare.

  • IOW, between 1.4 and 1.8 Million were in the class of people Obamacare was supposedly going to save from dying on a lonely street corner.
  • Meanwhile, a WHOPPING 4 Million were in the class of people who lost plans Obama promised they could keep.

In addition, only 25% of actual enrollees are in the key “young invincibles” demographic, well short of Team Obama’s goal of 39%. These people are necessary for the whole thing to work, because they pay in, but generally do not take out. So even IF these people keep up their premiums, the whole program is doomed. (We can hope.)

And let’s not forget that health insurance is like the utility bill. It only stays “on” for as long as you keep up your payments. Just because 5.36 Million have paid ONE premium does not mean they will be willing or able to keep on paying. And just like your electric and your heat and your internet access … you miss a payment and you’re cancelled.

Utility bill

Coming up next in the Obamacare debacle … MORE cancellation notices and huge premium increases are expected soon, particularly for consumers in the small group market. Personally, I think driving small businesses out of business was planned from the start. Leftocrats can’t rule the world with a vibrant, mouthy, freedom-loving, Bible-thumping, gun-toting MIDDLE CLASS in their way.

This fall, I’m voting for anyone who PROMISES to kill Obamacare dead, Dead, DEAD.

Two stories from the trenches of the ObamaDoesn’tCare Act

OBAMACARE Evie's story

Letter from a senior gentleman in Mesa, Arizona:

Dear Family, Friends, Neighbors and former Classmates,

I just found myself in the middle of a medical situation that made it very clear that “the affordable care act” is neither affordable, nor do they care.

I’ll go back about seven years ago to a fairly radical prostate surgery that I underwent. The Urologist (a personal friend) who performed the surgery was very concerned that it was cancer, though I wasn’t told this until the lab report revealed it was benign. Since that procedure, I have experienced numerous urinary tract infections, UTI’s. Since I had never had a “UTI” prior to the prostate surgery, I assume that it is one of the side effects from surgery, an assumption since confirmed by my Family Doctor.

The weekend of March 8-9, I was experiencing all the symptoms of another bout of UTI. By Monday afternoon the infection had hit with full force. Knowing that all I needed was an antibiotic, I went to an Urgent Care Center in Mesa, AZ., to provide a specimen, a requirement for getting the prescription. After waiting 45 min. to see the Doctor, I started getting very nauseous and light headed.

I went to the Receptionist to ask where the bathroom was as I felt that I was going to throw up. I was told that I would have to wait for the Doctor because I would need to leave a specimen and they didn’t want me in the bathroom without first seeing him.

That was when the lights went out, my next awareness was that of finding myself on the floor (in the waiting room) having violent dry heaves, and very confused. At this point, I tried to stand up but couldn’t make it, and they made it very clear they weren’t going to let me get up until the ambulance got there. By the way, when you’re waiting to see the Doctor and you pass out, you get very prompt attention.

Now, “the rest of the story”, and the reason for sending this to so many of you.

I was taken to the nearest hospital, to emergency. Once there, I was transported to an emergency examination room. Once I had removed my clothes and donned one of those lovely hospital gowns, I finally got to see a Doctor. I asked “what is going on” I’m just having a UTI, just get me the proper medication and let me go home. He told me that my symptoms presented the possibility of sepsis, a potentially deadly migration of toxins, and that they needed to run several tests to determine how far the infection had migrated.

For the next 3 hours I was subjected to several tests, blood draws, EKG’s, and demands for specimens. At about 7:30 the nurse came back to my room to inform me that one of the tests takes 1- 2 days to complete, I asked if they (the results) could be emailed, at which point she informed me that I wouldn’t need them emailed because I wasn’t going anywhere. I started arguing with her but was told, “if you don’t start behaving, I’ll start taking your temperature rectally, at which point I became a perfect gentleman. I did tell her I wanted to see the doctor because I had no intention of staying overnight.

Now, this is what I want each of you to understand, please read these next sentences carefully. The doctor finally came in to inform me that he was going to admit me. I said, “are you admitting me for treatment or for observation?” He told me that I would be admitted for observation. I said Doctor, correct me if I’m wrong, but if you admit me for observation my Medicare will not pay anything, this due to the affordable care act , he said that’s right, it won’t. I then grabbed for my bag of clothing and said, then I’m going home. He said you’re really too sick to be going home, but I understand your position, this health program is going to hit seniors especially hard.

The doctor then left the room and I started getting dressed, I was just getting ready to put my shoes on when another doctor (the closer) came into the room, he saw me dressed and said, “where do you think you are going?” I simply said “I’m going home, to which he replied, quite vociferously, no you aren’t. I said, “Doc, you and I both know that under the “affordable care act” anyone on Medicare who is admitted to a hospital for observation will be responsible for the bill, Medicare won’t pay a cent”. At which point he nodded in affirmation. I said, “You will either admit me for a specific treatment or you won’t admit me.” Realizing he wasn’t going to win this one, he said he would prepare my release papers.

A few minutes later the discharge nurse came to my room to have me sign the necessary papers, relieving them from any responsibility. I told her I wasn’t trying to be obstinate, but I wasn’t going to be burdened with the full (financial) responsibility for my hospital stay.

After making sure the door was closed, she said, “I don’t blame you at all, I would do the same thing.” She went on to say, “You wouldn’t believe the people who elect to leave for the same reasons, people who are deathly sick, people who have to be wheeled out on a gurney.” She further said, “The ‘Affordable Care Act’ is going to be a disaster for seniors. Yet, if you are in this country illegally, and have no coverage, you will be covered in full.”

This is not internet hype folks, this is real, I just experienced it personally. Moving right along, this gets worse.

Today I went to a (required) follow up appointment with my Arizona Family Practitioner. Since my white count was pretty high, the follow up was important. During the visit I shared the experience at emergency, and that I had refused to be admitted. His response was “I don’t blame you at all, I would have done the same thing”. He went on to say that the colonoscopy and other procedures are probably going to be dropped from coverage for those over 70.

I told him that I had heard that the affordable care act would no longer pay for cancer treatment for those 76 and older, is that true? His understanding is that it is true.

The more I hear, and experience the Affordable Care Act, the more I’m beginning to see that we seniors are nothing more than an inconvenience, and the sooner they can get rid of us the better off they’ll be.

November is coming folks, we can have an impact on this debacle by letting everyone in Congress know that their responsibility is to the constituents, not the president and not the lobbyists. We need to let them ALL know that they are in office to serve and to look after the BEST INTERESTS of “we the people”, their employers, and not to become self serving bureaucrats who serve only out of greed. And if they don’t seem to understand this simple logic, we’ll fire them.

It was NEVER about better health care for all

Carson bops Oprah

Nothing is over – “Well, ‘the debate is over’ is something of a mantra. The debate is over about climate change — everyone, be quiet. The debate is over about early childhood education — everyone, be quiet. Lots of things are supposedly over. You hear that from people who are finding the evidence inconvenient. Now, is it working? That’s a fairly minimal claim. I mean, the farm subsidies in this country are working. Whether or not they are doing good work is another matter…And he is contradicting himself. He says, we should all stop talking about this except Democrats this fall should campaign on the basis of the multiform excellence of the Affordable Care Act.” – George Will on “Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace”

ONLY HALF ARE ACTUALLY COVERED: Approximately 220,000 Georgians are being counted as “enrollees” in the faux HHS Rah Rah ObamaCare count. Georgia’s Insurance Commissioner Ralph Hudgens says PREMIUMS HAVE BEEN PAID for only 107,581 of those policies.

Georgia exchange applications hit 220,000

RISE IN COSTS ACCELERATING: Monthly reports from the Altarum Institute, based on government data, are the equivalent of an early warning system for medical costs. They showed costs starting to rise more quickly in the middle of 2013. Since then, the rates have gone up even more. http://www.newrepublic.com/article/117452/rising-health-care-costs-what-it-means-economy-obamacare
