Huh? Why would you ask THAT?!

2013_10 09 DWS gobsmacked

As for all the glitches, long waits and downed servers, well HARUMPH. How DARE you criticize?! The Obamacare sites are having trouble because SO MANY PEOPLE WANT TO ACCESS THEM! SO THERE! Yeah and like … isn’t that why you spent OUR money hyping them? So people would access them? Are you aware of how many Americans there ARE? Oh wait. That’s “data” … I’m just a voter. I got no right to ask for data.

And check out the banner MSNBC put at the top of the screen. “The Place for Politics” with Obama’s current slogan “Lean Forward.” MSNBC is the Special PR Arm of the Democrat-Progressive Party … you know, the one they don’t have to declare, because they don’t PAY them or anything. (I wouldn’t bet the house on the likelihood that the same Progressive Billionaire who heavily funds Democrats isn’t also heavily funding the “ratings in the basement” MSNBC.)

But enough of that … check out what’s BETWEEN “The Place for Politics” and “Lean Forward.” ::snort:: The Dow is DOWN 33.43 points. Isn’t that little banner the perfect icon of today’s Democrats?! Add in DWS’ Clueless Face and you’ve really GOT them all in one 210 KB graphic. I love it!

Obama attack on religion is SOP

Obama violates religious freedom

A year ago, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius issued a “preventive services” regulation under Obamacare. This regulation requires almost all health care plans to cover, without fees or co-pay, sterilizations, artificial contraceptives and abortion-inducing drugs.

The U.S. Catholic bishops have unanimously condemned this regulation. Calling it “illegal and unjust”, the bishops have encouraged all American Catholics to disobey it.

In October of 2012, the Catholic Kennedy family that owns Autocam sued the government over this issue.

Last month, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit ruled against them, saying the sole owners’ First Amendment rights don’t count, because “the mandate falls on Autocam.”

It does not matter to the court that the Kennedys are the sole owners of Autocom or that they are great bosses to their 661 employees, precisely because they live their Catholic-Christian faith in every aspect of their business.

The Kennedys intend to appeal their case to the Supreme Court.

The 2013 Battle of Yorktown: A restaurant owner defies feds

Carrot Tree Restaurant Yorktown VA

For the past 11 years, Glenn Helseth and his wife have owned and operated the Carrot Tree Kitchens Restaurant inside the historic Cole Digges House in Yorktown, Va.

Although the building is owned and operated by the National Park Service, the restaurant is a money-maker for the government. Glenn said, “I send them a check every month.”

He also pointed out that even though the building is technically closed, he’s still required to maintain insurance and utilities, make his rent payment AND pay for the building’s security system – the building the NPS kicked them out of.

At least 20 of Helseth’s longtime employees are facing unemployment. They can’t make rent and some are faced with choosing between buying food or buying medicine.

Glenn has decided enough is enough. He has reopened the Carrot Tree Kitchens Restaurant and is serving Brunswick stew, ham biscuits and carrot cake.

He said. “If that gets me put in jail, I’m going to jail. I don’t wish to take a stand against my government. I’ve always been very proud of my country. [But] I don’t agree with what’s happening. I can no longer abide by what’s happening.”

2013_10 09 Why are the parks closed

One legislator said, “I’ve never seen such small-minded, miserable behavior … and such a disregard of our responsibilities to the people. The American people could get better government out of monkey island in the local zoo than we’re getting … today.”

Sadly, it was a Democrat criticizing Republicans for holding their ground. Ann Coulter once said, “It’s easy to know what Democrats are doing. Just listen to what they accuse of us doing.”

That is so true! A majority of Americans do not want Obamacare.

A majority of us did not want it when it was shoved through a Democrat super-majority Congress and signed by a Democrat president. (Check the polls.)

We’ve fought it in the courts and screamed our heads off trying to get it re-evaluated. At this point, Republican legislators are doing the only thing available to them by refusing to fund it.

It’s the Democrats who are making this an all-or-shutdown thing.

Don’t believe me?

  • Look up the VOTES for yourself. They’re all on-line. See URLs below.
  • Read the GOP bills that Republicans have PASSED to FUND government services.

Think for yourself for a change and stop letting these Democrat bullies and their lapdog media heads USE you to push their agendas at our expense.

Obamacare Just Gave Me A Death Sentence

EXCERPTS from  Obamacare Just Gave Me A Death Sentence by OneFedUpVoter:

I’ve had Blue-Cross/Blue-Shield of Michigan through my employer for more than 10 years.

With the implementation of Obamacare, my employer’s healthcare coverage is considered a ‘Cadillac’ plan.

This means that instead of being taxed on my actual salary, I will be taxed on my salary plus of the $12,000/year my employer pays for my premiums.

This puts me into a higher tax bracket that will add $4,000 extra per year to my tax bill … even if I don’t require any medical care at all. We’ll be lucky if we can keep our house

Last week, I received this Notification from Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Michigan, dropping all coverage of compounded medications, specifically anything related to hormonal replacement.

2013_10 No compounded drugs allowed

The reason they are doing this is … because they can. They won the monopoly sweepstakes for health insurers in Michigan. No competition means they can do whatever they like.

I lost my mother last year to a hereditary condition related to a lack of certain hormones. I have been on compounded hormones for more than 4 years; without them, I have more than an 80% chance of developing this deadly disorder.

Contrary to Blue-Cross’s Notice, these compounded medications are not unsafe and there are NO adequate FDA approved alternatives I can take.

This has nothing to do with safety or efficacy; it has everything to do with profits. The disapproved compounded hormones are natural and unpatentable; the approved hormone substitutes are synthetic and bring in big bucks for Big Pharma.

To say my mother died, a horrible, slow, agonizing 20-year death would be an insufficient description of what happened to her. Now, due to Obamacare, I can look forward to the same.

I can’t afford the $4,000 extra taxes. How am I going to pay for these hormones?

Obamacare just gave me a very probable death sentence.

Americans proving to be not that dumb

October 7, 2013: As of midnight last night, Maryland’s O’care exchange had recorded:

  • 174,000 unique site visitors
  •  13,532 accounts successfully created
  •       566 health insurance applications submitted
  •       326 application approved and enrolled

Tweets:

  • 13,206 people soiled themselves when they found out how much affordable health care was going to cost for 326 to get it free.
  • So 0.2% of the visitors to the exchange in the Bluest and Closest to DC State bought insurance.
  • Maryland says it spent $200 Million setting up their exchange.
  • Bluest, closest state to DC epicenter can’t even get suckers to sign up for Obamacare.

2013_10 Remember who this man is

Some GOOD news … I saw this in the comments at Twitchy. (I refuse to go to Daily KOS so didn’t personally verify.)

Here’s a Daily Kos article complaining about the ACA because she CANNOT KEEP HER DOCTOR and discussing “An ugly new term that you’re going to be hearing a lot more about in the weeks to come. Very. Thin. Narrow. Networks. ”

AND a second comment in the post: “Here’s the second thing that disturbs me. The ACA policies are significantly more costly.”

THIS IS DAILY KOS PEOPLE. Granted her “solution” is single payer. But even DAILY KOS people are complaining about this travesty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If only someone had tried to warn her that she couldn’t keep her doctor and that her friend’s insurance premiums might be going up…. but by all means, MORE GOVERNMENT is definitely the answer here since they’ve done such as great job with the ACA.

If the Democrat Media Complex had actually reported the NEWS when Zero Care was being debated, people like this would’ve known what the other options were for reforming health care, options presented repeatedly by Republicans, but not reported by the “journalistas” who chanted, “Republicans have no plan. Republicans just want people to die.”

The UNaffordable Care Act

Under Obamacare, Americans are going to:

  • pay more for health care,
  • have more limited health care options,
  • be subjected to much more paperwork.

Those who choose not to participate are going to be hit with punitive fines … I mean, TAXES … which is what SCOTUS ruled the IRS will be collecting from all those deadbeat taxpayers who try not to contribute Their Fair Share toward providing free birth control, abortions and gender changes to non-taxpaying deadbeats, illegals, sluts, and welfare queens (and kings).

Health care - duct tape

Besides all that, the Obamacare online system functions so poorly that less than 1% of all visitors have successfully signed up for health insurance. In California and Connecticut, the rate is under a half a percent.

Freedom Post collected it’s top 21 faves of the comments that have been posted on the official Healthcare.gov Facebook page so far…

21. “I am so disappointed. These prices are outrageous and there are huge deductibles. No one can afford this!”

20. “Good grief. Day three of trying and still can’t get on this website. The government KNEW about this thing going live for two years. TWO YEARS! And this is the best they could do? I shudder to think what’s going to happen once they are in control of my healthcare. They can’t even get their website functioning properly. If my business had rolled out a piece of crap that worked like this I’d be out of business.”

19. “How is it that Facebook, which is a non-essential social networking web site, can reliably handle BILLIONS of electronic interactions per second, but the Healthcare.gov site, which is literally the very heart of the Obamacare program wasn’t ready for the obvious millions of visitors that you had to know it would be receiving?”

18. “i’m just going to stop even bothering for a couple weeks or so … once the fervor dies down, hopefully I’ll be able to actually create an account!”

17. “The Federal Gov’t has ruined everything it has gotten involved in, does anybody really expect this healthcare disaster to be any different? Sorry, I’ll take the asinine fine.”

16. “And yet another day and several tries I once again keep getting nothing but a completely blank page after I log in. The top tab says ‘Successful URL’. Oh how ironic.”

15. “Didn’t these Feds ever have mothers that told them not to lie? Maybe they were raised in the wild. This system is trash. I can’t verify my identity or upload documents. Also what’s with Experian verifying ID’s? Don’t care for that at all.”

14. “I am a single mother of two, in school and working full time, living 75% below the poverty level and I DO NOT qualify for a healthcare subsidy”

13. “the website can’t verify my identity…the people at the experian verification number can’t verify my identity either….i tried to upload a scan of my driver’s license, and that won’t work either……very annoying process…….I’ve wasted 3 days on this junk.”

12. “if you’re stupid enough to put all your banking information in to the federal governments computers you are definitely part of the problem”

11. “Where the HELL am I supposed to get $3,000 more a year to pay for this “bronze” health insurance plan!?!??? And I DO NOT EVEN WANT INSURANCE to begin with!! This is frightening.”

10. “I have one question. What happens if I can’t afford the Affordable Health Care that you are cramming down my throat? I just ran your calculator, and if it is even close to accurate, I will have a choice…..I can pay my rent and buy groceries, or I can pay the health care premiums, move out into the streets and live under a bridge somewhere, and go hungry! Can I please get one of those exemption things that the President and Congress got?”

9. “I’ve been stuck at the security questions since 9am on October 1st”

8. “Death Panels. Yes. The red plan. It’s affordable. And painless!”

7. “Here in Austin, TX have gotten to login screen three times today, wait is getting shorter, but am still getting a blank screen after getting a quick ‘authenticating, please wait’ message at top left of screen, then nothing but a blank white page and no indication that the browser is waiting for the server to do anything. Attempts to refresh the screen sends me back to the please wait screen.”

6. “I finally got past the security question problem, got my account, my verification email, and when I went to log in, it said the information was invalid.”

5. “I want to know how I am expected to pay $300+ for this and still pay my bills when the only income is $710 a month from my husband’s SSI? Am i supposed to lose my home and water and electricity or go to jail because I can’t afford this?”

4. “Government forces people to pay a new tax. People click on website to see how much this new tax will cost them. Website crashes in the first hour. Government calls it a huge success.”

3. “I work a minimum wage job…how the heck can I afford health insurance and if the company doesn’t give full time? I am so angry right now…. I share housing with others because I can’t afford my own place… how do you expect people to afford Obamacare if they barely get by from paycheck to paycheck????? I can’t afford a fine either! I think you are obligated to give the American people an answer and an explanation!”

2. “Y’all can kiss my butt. You got that? You want my bank account? I’ll close it. You put a lien on my house? Take it…and the mortgage too. Some things are worth fighting for, and freedom is one of them! I am sick and tired of the redistribution strategies of this socialist country and having my wages STOLEN to pay for them!”

1. The best comment was posted by a man named Will Sheehan with type 1 diabetes who was initially very excited to sign up for Obamacare. But what he discovered while trying to sign up was absolutely horrifying …

I actually made it through this morning at 8:00 A.M. I have a preexisting condition (Type 1 Diabetes) and my income base was 45K-55K annually. I chose tier 2 “Silver Plan” and my monthly premiums came out to $597.00 with $13,988 yearly deductible!!! There is NO POSSIBLE way that I can afford this so I “opt-out” and chose to continue along with no insurance.

I received an email tonight at 5:00 P.M. informing me that my fine would be $4,037 and could be attached to my yearly income tax return. Then you make it to the “REPERCUSSIONS PORTION” for “non-payment” of yearly fine. First, your driver’s license will be suspended until paid, and if you go 24 consecutive months with “Non-Payment” and you happen to be a home owner, you will have a federal tax lien placed on your home. You can agree to give your bank information so that they can easy “Automatically withdraw” your “penalties” weekly, bi-weekly or monthly! This by no means is “Free” or even “Affordable.”

The Unaffordable Care Act

Because the Obamacare exchanges are now closed for repairs, a lot of folks are finding it difficult to determine just how much more they’re going to have to pay for health insurance under the new law. To help answer this question, here’s a handy map based on data from the Society of Actuaries that will give you an idea of how much more you’ll be coughing up for coverage under the ludicrously misnamed “Affordable Care Act” (unless you happen to live in New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, Rhode Island, or New Jersey):

You’ll no doubt be happy to hear that House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi considers it “very fair” to jail miscreants who fail, for whatever reason, to do their patriotic duty and sign up for Obamacare.

Oh, and that one guy who managed to navigate the online exchange and get him some of that wonderful low-cost health insurance? He didn’t.

And what about those nice people the government has hired to help us poor hapless schlubs jump through all the hoops necessary to sign up for Obamacare? You can read about some of them here… but be forewarned, it isn’t pretty.

ObamaCare never has and never will be about helping the poor. If they’d ever given a toot about actual people, they’d have reformed health care in the practical ways the GOP proposed, ways that WORK.

  1. Allow citizens to buy insurance plans anywhere, not just within their own states.
  2. Switch tax subsidies from employers to individuals so everyone gets insurance as individuals, regardless of where they work.
  • These two changes alone would’ve opened up a huge market of health insurance plans of all shapes, sizes and premium levels.
  • These two changes would’ve freed people trapped in jobs they hate because they don’t dare lose their employer-based insurance plan.
  • These two changes would’ve created low-cost catastrophic coverage options that uninsured people in low-paying service industry jobs where insurance isn’t included could afford.

Instead, they shoved ZeroCare down our throats, something that has a proven track record in many countries, including here (Medicare, Medicaid) of providing least care for most money. Why? Because it provides the most POWER and CONTROL and that’s what it was and is about.

The PTBs in DC rake in the bucks, then use them to pay off cronies and punish enemies. Case in point: Abortion.

ObamaCare mandates everybody pay directly into a fund that does nothing except buy abortions. IOW, they extort money from Pro-Lifers (mostly Republicans) and give it to abortionists who turn around and donate it to Pro-Abortion Democrat campaign coffers to ensure their right to kill goes unimpeded.

Do you think if Dems cared about actual people, Harry Reid could have EVER said what he did about kids with cancer? They don’t care who gets hurt during this government shut down, just so long as they hang on to their POWER.

Democrats: Stop holding America hostage

2013_10 02 Govt shut down photo

WASHINGTON, DC — U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) released the following statement on the Senate’s refusal to take up House-passed continuing resolutions:

“This morning, disability payments for wounded veterans would be fully funded if not for Harry Reid.

“This morning, our National Guard and reservists would be fully funded if not for Harry Reid.

“This morning, our national parks and war memorials would be open and fully funded if not for Harry Reid.

“This morning, the National Institutes of Health would be fully funded if not for Harry Reid.

“Harry Reid and President Obama should stop playing partisan games; they believe that the shutdown benefits them politically, and so they are cynically trying to make it as painful as possible for the American people.

“None of these limited CRs implicates or even mentions Obamacare; Harry Reid and President Obama shouldn’t be holding veterans hostage simply to force Obamacare on the American people.

“The House of Representatives has passed bipartisan funding for all these government functions; Senate Republicans are united in support of these vital funding bills. It is only because Harry Reid and Senate Democrats continue to object that these are not today on the President’s desk.”
