What was Joe Biden doing fifty years ago?

Joe Biden was only four years ahead of Mitt Romney in school, so it is only fair that if Mitt’s 50 year old pranks are fair grist for the political mill, then so are Joe’s.

The most likely fire extinguisher that would have been available in a dorm is an ABC multi-purpose dry chemical type. OSHA lists adverse health effects and symptoms of exposure to the contents:

Irritating to the respiratory system, eyes and skin. Symptoms may include coughing, shortness of breath, and irritation of the lungs, eyes, and skin. Ingestion, although unlikely, may cause cramps, nausea and diarrhea.

Nice guy, our Joe.

NOT.

Fact Check says Life of Julia is bogus

The Obama campaign’s “Life of Julia” slide show depicts a fictional woman whose life from age 3 to 67 is better under the president’s policies than under those of Republican Mitt Romney. But the facts do not support statements in the slide show.

1. Romney would leave Julia with “nothing but a voucher” to buy health insurance at age 65. Wrong. The plan Romney has endorsed would let her choose between traditional Medicare fee-for-service coverage, or a variety of private plans with premiums partially paid by the government.

2. As a senior citizen under Romney, Julia would have to pay “$6,350 extra per year” for a health care plan similar to Medicare. Wrong. This cost estimate is based on old and invalid cost estimates.

3. At age 67, Julia could “retire comfortably” under Obama but, “Under Mitt Romney: Julia’s benefits could be cut by 40%.” Wrong. Social Security is rapidly going broke. The trustees predict that all Social Security beneficiaries will be hit with a 25% cut by 2033 unless changes are made. Obama has proposed no plan to avoid this.

4. As a 22-year-old college student, Julia needs surgery that is covered “due to a provision in health care reform” keeping her on her parents’ insurance. Fair enough. But she’d probably be covered anyway: Thirty-seven states already have similar mandates on the books.

5. As a 31-year-old expectant mother, Julia “benefits from maternal checkups” required under Obamacare. But she would probably get that care anyway, since 85 percent of full-time workers have health insurance now, and a 1978 federal law already requires that employer-provided insurance generally must “cover expenses for pregnancy-related conditions.”

Obamacare adds sales tax on homes

A 3.8 percent sales tax may not sound like much. But it would add $3,800 to the cost of a $100,000 home or more than $15 grand to the cost of a $400,000 home. If the GOP wins in November, they have promised to overturn Obamacare and pass common sense, economically sound health care legislation. If Obama and the Democrats win, count on this tax and many others to kick in and further depress the economy.

The Obamacare Abortion Fee

It is obvious between this blatant funding of the abortion industry and the finalized HHS rule that requires all plans to cover birth control and abortifacient drugs that the DNC, the Obama administration and the pro-aborts have ZERO commitment to protecting our First Amendment rights.

If we lose in the fall and Obamacare gets fully enacted, it will only be a matter of months before all policies will be required to cover abortion and all Americans will be required to pay $1 a month to fund the abortion industry … which in turn funds the Democrats at every level of government.

If this doesn’t scare you, something is very, very wrong.

Caveat: I have seen no evidence whatsoever that Barack Obama is “brilliant” and I highly doubt he’s “devised” much of anything, never mind the entire scheme to bring this great nation to its knees. Is he helping to implement the plans that others have devised? Absolutely.

An Obama classmate speaks out by Wayne Allyn Root – June 6, 2010

Rahm Emanuel cynically said, “You never want a crisis to go to waste.” It is now becoming clear that the crisis he was referring to is Barack Obama’s presidency.

Obama is no fool. He is not incompetent. To the contrary, he is brilliant. He knows exactly what he’s doing. He is purposely overwhelming the U.S. economy to create systemic failure, economic crisis and social chaos — thereby destroying capitalism and our country from within.

Barack Obama is my college classmate (Columbia University, class of ’83). As Glenn Beck correctly predicted from day one, Obama is following the plan of Cloward & Piven, two professors at Columbia University. They outlined a plan to socialize America by overwhelming the system with government spending and entitlement demands. Add up the clues below. Taken individually they’re alarming. Taken as a whole, it is a brilliant, Machiavellian game plan to turn the United States into a socialist/Marxist state with a permanent majority that desperately needs government for survival … and can be counted on to always vote for bigger government. Why not? They have no responsibility to pay for it.

— Universal health care. The health care bill had very little to do with health care. It had everything to do with unionizing millions of hospital and health care workers, as well as adding 15,000 to 20,000 new IRS agents (who will join government employee unions). Obama doesn’t care that giving free health care to 30 million Americans will add trillions to the national debt. What he does care about is that it cements the dependence of those 30 million voters to Democrats and big government. Who but a socialist revolutionary would pass this reckless spending bill in the middle of a depression?

— Cap and trade. Like health care legislation having nothing to do with health care, cap and trade has nothing to do with global warming. It has everything to do with redistribution of income, government control of the economy and a criminal payoff to Obama’s biggest contributors. Those powerful and wealthy unions and contributors (like GE, which owns NBC, MSNBC and CNBC) can then be counted on to support everything Obama wants. They will kick-back hundreds of millions of dollars in contributions to Obama and the Democratic Party to keep them in power. The bonus is that all the new taxes on Americans with bigger cars, bigger homes and businesses helps Obama “spread the wealth around.”

— Make Puerto Rico a state. Why? Who’s asking for a 51st state? Who’s asking for millions of new welfare recipients and government entitlement addicts in the middle of a depression? Certainly not American taxpayers. But this has been Obama’s plan all along. His goal is to add two new Democrat senators, five Democrat congressman and a million loyal Democratic voters who are dependent on big government.

— Legalize 12 million illegal immigrants. Just giving these 12 million potential new citizens free health care alone could overwhelm the system and bankrupt America. But it adds 12 million reliable new Democrat voters who can be counted on to support big government. Add another few trillion dollars in welfare, aid to dependent children, food stamps, free medical, education, tax credits for the poor, and eventually Social Security.

— Stimulus and bailouts. Where did all that money go? It went to Democrat contributors, organizations (ACORN), and unions — including billions of dollars to save or create jobs of government employees across the country. It went to save GM and Chrysler so that their employees could keep paying union dues. It went to AIG so that Goldman Sachs could be bailed out (after giving Obama almost $1 million in contributions). A staggering $125 billion went to teachers (thereby protecting their union dues). All those public employees will vote loyally Democrat to protect their bloated salaries and pensions that are bankrupting America. The country goes broke, future generations face a bleak future, but Obama, the Democrat Party, government, and the unions grow more powerful. The ends justify the means.

— Raise taxes on small business owners, high-income earners, and job creators. Put the entire burden on only the top 20 percent of taxpayers, redistribute the income, punish success, and reward those who did nothing to deserve it (except vote for Obama). Reagan wanted to dramatically cut taxes in order to starve the government. Obama wants to dramatically raise taxes to starve his political opposition.

With the acts outlined above, Obama and his regime have created a vast and rapidly expanding constituency of voters dependent on big government; a vast privileged class of public employees who work for big government; and a government dedicated to destroying capitalism and installing themselves as socialist rulers by overwhelming the system.

Add it up and you’ve got the perfect Marxist scheme — all devised by my Columbia University college classmate Barack Obama.

ObamaCare is doomed
Excerpts from A Commentary By Scott Rasmussen – March 30, 2012

There are three ways the health care law could meet its end.

The first, obviously, is the Supreme Court could declare some or all of it unconstitutional in June.

If it gets past that hurdle, the law also could be ended by Election 2012. If a Republican president is elected, the GOP will almost certainly also win control of the Senate and retain control of the House. While the details might take time, a Republican sweep in November would ultimately end the Obama experiment.

But even if the law survives the Supreme Court and the next election, the clock will be ticking.

Recent estimates suggest that the law would cause 11 million people to lose their employer-provided insurance and be forced onto a government-backed insurance plan. That’s a problem because 77 percent of those who now have insurance rate their current coverage as good or excellent.

Only 3 percent rate their coverage as poor. For most of the 11 million forced to change their insurance coverage then, it will be received as bad news and create a pool of vocally unhappy voters.

Additionally, the cost estimates for funding the program are likely to keep going up. Eighty-one percent of voters expect it to cost more than projected, and recent Congressional Budget Office estimates indicate voters are probably right.

But it’s not the narrow specifics and cost estimates that guarantee the ultimate demise of the president’s health care plan. It’s the fact that the law runs contrary to basic American values and perceptions.

This, then, is the third hurdle the law faces: Individual Americans recognize that they have more power as consumers than they do as voters. Their choices in a free market give them more control over the economic world than choosing one politician or another.

76% think they should have the right to choose between expensive insurance plans with low deductibles and low-cost plans with higher deductibles.

A similar majority believes everyone should be allowed to choose between expensive plans that cover just about every imaginable medical procedure and lower-cost plans that cover a smaller number of procedures.

All such choices would be banned under the current health care law. Americans want to be empowered as health care consumers.

82% believe that if an employer pays for health insurance, the worker should be able to use that money and select an insurance product that meets his or her individual needs. If the plan they select costs less than the company plan, most believe the worker should get to keep the change.

It’s not just the idea of making the choice that drives these numbers, it’s the belief held by most Americans that competition will do more than government regulation to reduce the cost of health care.

For something as fundamental as medical care, government policy must be consistent with deeply held American values. That’s why an approach that increases consumer choice has solid support and a plan that relies on mandates and trusting the government cannot survive.
