Current, former workers at Coleman facility say that’s not true
Security officials inside the minimum-security prison camp that is part of the Coleman Federal Correctional Complex in Central Florida — where the 71-year-old former Democratic congresswoman reported to Jan. 29 — said she’s treated like everyone else.
But according to inmates, Brown has been getting everything from massages to being able to wear wigs.
“New mattress, kissing up all day and all night by both staff and residents … and she got to keep a bunch of wigs,” one inmate wrote.
The letter goes on to say, “She had to have a brand new mattress. She has girls that are in prison at her beck and call. She says they are on her payroll. Where we got one chicken pattie for lunch she gets 2. The officers allows her to have massages every night.”
That inmate also claims that Brown is allowed to wear “brand new high-top leather sneakers” that aren’t even sold in the prison commissary.

The FDA reports that such drug-induced abortions have led to cases of extreme bleeding, infection and incomplete abortions requiring a surgery, and even to the death of mothers. The drugs are especially dangerous to women who are later in pregnancy or are experiencing an ectopic pregnancy, both conditions which must be determined by an ultrasound (using equipment not usually found in a college health center.) Trump Admin Won’t Hold Parks And Monuments Hostage If Government Shuts Down
During the last government shutdown in 2013, the Obama administration completely closed down more than 400 parks and monuments across the country. The administration blamed the shutdown and forced furlough of 20,000 U.S. Parks Service employees on the closures.
The move was widely criticized by Republicans accusing then-President Barack Obama of unnecessarily making the shutdown more upsetting to Americans than was necessary.

Short called it “incredibly frustrating” that the regular appropriations process doesn’t work and Congress continues to lurch from one continuing resolution to another. “We submitted a budget to Congress last February; we’re now in mid-January without a spending bill,” Short said.
Senate Democrats have refused to proceed to normal appropriations bills, all 12 of which were passed on time by the House.
Short noted that appropriations bills need 60 Senate votes to pass, so 10 Democrats would need to join Republicans Friday to keep the government funded for another month. “So the reality is that those ten votes we need to get to 60 is what’s basically bringing the government to a shutdown and stopping funding of our troops.”

Some of the politicians objecting most loudly to the GOP tax reform law were Democrats from high tax blue states, whose constituents for years have been somewhat insulated from their exorbitant state and local tax bills via an ability to write them off as a federal tax deduction. Under the new law, those who itemize (a small fraction of taxpayers to begin with) will only be able to deduct up to $10,000 in SALT-related (property tax) expenses. This will expose some of them, especially those in upper-income brackets, to the true costs of living in tax happy jurisdictions. These people make up the lion’s share the roughly five percent of taxpayers who stand to see a net tax increase next year — whereas 80 percent of all taxpayers, and 91 percent of middle class earners will get a cut.

Military members will see their paychecks rise by the largest percent increase since 2010 this week.
At the end of December, President Donald Trump, by way of executive order, mandated a 2.4% pay hike for uniformed service members and a 1.9% raise for federal workers. The Trump administration’s initial budget blueprint called for a 2.1% pay increase, while the House and Senate suggested the 2.4% figure, which was eventually adopted by the president.

Trump Administration Plans To Help States Implement Work Requirements for Medicaid
Kentucky has just received approval from the Trump administration to implement their work requirements, which mirror their requirements for food stamps. There are 650,000 Medicaid beneficiaries in Kentucky. Many of these individuals do not have any earned income and do not work at all. Under the new requirements, these beneficiaries will have to either work, train, or volunteer for 20 hours a week in order to receive benefits.
According to research from the Foundation for Government Accountability, the number of Medicaid beneficiaries has more than doubled since 2000. Now 75 million are enrolled in the program, which includes 28 million able-bodied adults. In addition, 52 percent of Medicaid beneficiaries that are able-bodied do not work.

NYT Officially Designates Trump A Racist, And Nobody Cares
The New York Times wants to make it official: President Donald Trump is a racist. On Friday, the editorial board of America’s most influential paper asserted there was no doubt of that.
The editorial was in response to Trump reportedly asking why America takes in so many immigrants from “shithole” countries instead of places like Norway. “Where to begin?” the Times’ editorial board collectively sighed when reflecting on Trump’s statement. “How about with a simple observation: The president of the United States is a racist.”
It shouldn’t be doubted that folks like Charles Blow and others in the media genuinely believe Trump is a racist for saying “shithole” countries and criticizing illegal immigrants in colorful language. But they aren’t just saying what they believe to get it off their chest.

Report: DACA Amnesty ‘Would Increase’ Number of Anchor Babies on Welfare
As Breitbart News previously reported, there are an estimated 4.5 million United States-born children who were given birthright citizenship despite at least one of their parents being an illegal alien. These children are commonly known as “anchor babies,” as they are able to eventually bring their foreign relatives to the U.S. legally through the process known as “chain migration.”
This estimate does not include anchor babies over the age of 18 or those who are living abroad with their deported parents.
A CBO report, estimating the impact of giving amnesty to the nearly 800,000 to 3.5 million illegal aliens who are enrolled or eligible for the President Obama-created Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, finds that such a plan would end up increasing the number of anchor babies who participate in federal benefit programs every year:

Almost Every Graduate Of DC High School Was Truant, Yet All Of Them Were Accepted To College
The majority of graduating students at a Washington, D.C. high school did not attend more than six weeks of high school, but still managed to get into college, an investigation into the students’ records found.
The District of Columbia Public Schools system policy states that students who misses a class more than 30 times should fail that class, according to WAMU.
Despite these absences, all of the 2017 seniors got into a college, a feat for which the school received high praise. One student said the class-wide acceptance was a repudiation of all those who said the school — where at one point only 3 percent of students met the reading standards — couldn’t do it.
Some teachers who spoke to the outlet said they felt they had to graduate failing students due to pressure from the high school administration. Other teachers said the lack of expectations allowed students to do what they wanted and not show up for class.

It is unlikely that Trump’s “America First” base, which supported Trump in part because of his focus on illegal immigration, will be satisfied with anything approaching a repeat of DACA — either by Congress or presidential pen.
Perhaps sensing a possible cave, conservative commentator Ann Coulter tweeted before the announcement that millions of voters “not only won’t vote for [Trump] again, but will never vote Republican again if they pass this DACA amnesty.”
