POST-OP POST
Your intrepid reporter underwent successful cataract surgery yesterday. God bless Medicare. The surgeon was referred by my family doctor and is the best in the city. When he schedules these operations he does an average of 16 in a day.As always, the doctor was running behind so it took an extra hour. The patient behind the curtain next to me in pre-op spoke no English and the nurse had to get a translator on the phone to get the necessary questions answered. When she came to check on me I asked how often they had to do that. She said it was a lot. Welcome to America.
Trump floats unexpected choice for VP
Former Sen. Scott Brown, who represented Massachusetts, but now resides in New Hampshire, got the nod this weekend.
While speaking at a Portsmouth, New Hampshire rally Saturday, Trump said that Brown would make a “very good” vice president.
When Trump asked Brown if he would consider another political run, an audience member suggested a Trump-Brown ticket.

Cruz Camp Concerned Sarah Palin May Endorse Trump in Ames
The Donald Trump campaign announced last weekend they will be making a major announcement on Tuesday in Ames, Iowa at Iowa State University… With a special guest–

“I think it [would] be a blow to Sarah Palin, because Sarah Palin has been a champion for the conservative cause, and if she was going to endorse Donald Trump, sadly, she would be endorsing someone who’s held progressive views all their life on the sanctity of life, on marriage, on partial-birth abortion,” Cruz campaign spokesman Rick Tyler said on CNN’s “New Day.”
WOULD SHE RUN AS TRUMP’S V.P. IF ASKED?
IS HE SMART ENOUGH TO REALIZE WHAT A FORCE SHE STILL IS, EVEN AFTER BEING SCREWED OVER BY MCSTAIN?
ABOUT THAT SHAM OF A “PRISONER EXCHANGE”
Obama’s ugly prisoner exchange with Iran

First: It’s a de facto prisoner exchange — of Americans who had done nothing wrong, for Iranians charged with or convicted of real crimes, even if the administration proudly noted that it had refused to spring anyone accused of terrorism
Second: The White House sprang the deal the day it was unlocking $100 billion in Iranian assets as per the nuclear accord.
Obama & Co. insist the nuclear understanding will pave the way to better Iranian behavior, but none of our allies in the region — from the Israelis to the Saudis — buys it.
Instead, they’re figuring out what they have to do to guard their own security now that America no longer has their backs.

KHAMEINI: WHAT ABOUT THE JEW?
OBAMA: F*CK THE JEW
FROM 2013:
Reports: American who went missing in Iran worked for CIA

Both the State Department and Bob Levinson’s family have long denied he was working for the U.S. government when he disappeared on a trip to Iran in 2007.
But Thursday’s reports from the Washington Post and the AP claim that Levinson had been on a CIA mission to dig up information.
‘Extremely Betrayed’: Family of Ex-FBI Agent Believed Held By Iran Lashes Out at White House
“We had to learn it from the TV ourselves, and that’s very disappointing and heartbreaking,” Robert Levinson’s wife, Christine, told the Associated Press. She used stronger language in another interview, telling ABC News that she felt “extremely betrayed” by the White House.

Ted Cruz: Five for Freedom Plan
“The total federal debt currently stands at $18.6 trillion, larger than our entire economy. That is up 75 percent since President Obama took office, and by the end of his tenure, he is expected to have added almost as much to the national debt as all past presidents combined. The federal government spent $3.5 trillion in fiscal year 2014, and ran a deficit of $483 billion. Sadly, even under a Republican Congress, the recent budget deal will add another $80 billion in spending over two years. The current and projected rates of government growth are unsustainable, irresponsible, and constitutionally indefensible.” ~Ted Cruz

Ted Cruz says that, if he is elected, he will work to eliminate wasteful government agencies, bureaus and commission. In particular, he wants to get rid of these five cabinet agencies:
- Internal Revenue Service – to dramatically simplify the tax code and enable everyone to fill out their taxes on a postcard or smartphone app.
- Department of Education – to return education to those who know our students best: parents, teachers, local communities, and states. And to block-grant education funding to the states.
- Department of Energy – to cut off the Washington cartel, stop picking winners and losers, and unleash the energy renaissance.
- Department of Commerce – to close the “congressional cookie jar” and promote free enterprise and free trade for every business.
- Department of Housing and Urban Development – to offer real solutions that lift people out of hardship, rather than trapping families in a cycle of poverty, and to empower hurting Americans by reforming most of the remaining programs, such as Section 8 housing.
Cruz says he will NOT do this by executive action, like Obama’s been doing to force his will on us. He will do it legally, constitutionally, by working with Congress.

GOP DEBATE: Cruz on illegal immigration
Cruz is exactly right.
VIDEO @ http://therightscoop.com/ted-cruz-kills-it-on-illegal-immigration-video/
Saying Republicans are anti-immigration is offensive. We’re pro-law abiding immigrants! Besides which, Mexico and most other countries have zero tolerance for illegals. Why should we be any different?

Saying Republicans lack compassion is also offensive. IMO, Democrats are the hard-hearted ones for so blithely ignoring the suffering of the millions of Americans that their horrible economic policies have put out of work.

GOP Debate: Tilt and Tone
Vanity Fair said, “Americans and pundits will spend the next few days weighing who won Wednesday night’s Republican debate on CNBC. But the night’s loser was clear even before it started: the network itself, which started the main event late and asked questions that left even the candidates scratching their heads.”
Ted Cruz said, “The questions that have been asked so far in the debate illustrate why the American people don’t trust the media. … You look at the questions: ‘Donald Trump, are you a comic book villain?’ ‘Ben Carson, can you do math?’ ‘John Kasich, will you insult two people over here?’ ‘Marco Rubio, why don’t you resign?’ ‘Jeb Bush, why have your numbers fallen?’ How about talking about the substantive issues people care about?”
Piers Morgan, who hates all things Republican, tweeted, “Come on CNBC moderators, get your damn facts right. This is embarrassing.”
It makes me glad I didn’t watch.
