Wave buh-bye to the nice Constitution, kids.

Charles Krauthammer

“Essentially, [President Obama] passed a law by executive order that the Congress had rejected – wouldn’t pass. That is unbelievably unconstitutional. It’s as if a Republican ran and said ‘I don’t like the capital gains tax.’ Congress rejects an abolition of that tax, and then he orders the IRS not to collect it. People would be up in arms and would be impeaching.”

Peggy Noonan

“These things have the effect of breaking bonds of trust between government and the people. They make citizens see Washington as an alien and hostile power. Washington sees the disaffection. They read the polls, they know. They call it rage. But it feels more like grief. Like the loss of something you never thought you’d lose, your sense of your country and your place in it, your rights in it.”

No tax dollars for baby killers

I wrote to my congressman about H.R.7 and got this back: “I firmly believe that Americans’ hard-earned tax dollars should not be used to perform abortions. It is too much to ask of Americans who fundamentally disagree with the procedure.” Yay!

When I googled to make sure I had the bill number right, I saw this. We call ourselves “Pro-Life”, but the Slimestream Media has decided we don’t deserve to be respected with the name we prefer. I think we should play turn-about and call the NARAL crowd “Anti-Life.”

2014_01 28 I'm going to start using Anti-Life

N.b., that’s a qualified “Yay!” up there. If this goes to the Senate, Chuckie Schmucker and his toadie Kirsten will vote against it two times. So sigh. But at least I have one person representing my beliefs, which is one more than I had before we got redistricted.

It’s not about the climate

Constitution not list of suggestions

When Congress refused to pass cap-and-trade legislation, the Obama administration directed his agencies to find ways to curb the country’s carbon dioxide output and commit to reducing GHG emissions without legislative approval.

For example, the Environmental Protection Agency is issuing new regulations on power plants that amount to cap-and-trade, just without that pesky “of the people, by the people, for the people” thing.

Climate graph accepted by everyone BEFORE AGW politics happened

These rules won’t make a damn bit of difference to global temperatures, which don’t need our help anyway, because we aren’t hurting them.

What these rules will do is precisely what they are actually intended to do, which is drive up energy prices and make Americans poorer.

Why would they want that? Simple. Prosperous people won’t bow to Communism.

Some Democrats FINALLY say Benghazi makes a difference

January 15, 2014: For the first time, Congressional Democrats joined the GOP in condemning the Obama-Clinton State Department for refusing security measures that could have prevented the deaths of the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans in Benghazi.

The report, worked on for months and released Wednesday by a bipartisan Senate intelligence committee, also says 15 people in Libya who have tried to help the FBI investigate the murders have been killed.

I won’t hold my breath for Shrillary to offer up any “heartache” for the victims of her corrupt? incompetent? decisions as Obama’s Secretary of State. She’s too busy gearing up for “her turn” in the White Hut.

The H is for Hypocrite

2014_01 04 The H is for Hypocrite

Fact Check: There are two sides to Congress – the Senate and the House. The Senate has a Democrat majority and a Democrat leader, Sen. Harry Reid. They ALL went home for the holidays.

Plus, the deal they brokered included allowing unemployment extensions to expire (which the right wanted) AND cutting pensions for military veterans (which the left wanted).

So cry me a river, Barry you freaking hypocrite. While you were sunning and golfing and sucking on shaved ice on our dime, we were stuck at home getting a crap-load of global warming dumped on our heads.

About that vet pension cut – UPDATED

If EVERY SINGLE PERSON receiving any kind of government check … pension, social security, food stamps, the works … if EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM was cut by the EXACT SAME PERCENT, I could maybe … just MAYBE swallow the idea of cutting VETERAN PENSIONS. Since that is not what Congress has voted for, well … color me with hair on fire.

UPDATE: I got this at Facebook today (Sunday Dec 29, 2013):
