Community Organizer goes to war

Dennis Miller

EXCERPTS from Community Organizer goes to war by Ann Coulter – Sept 4, 2013

No Republican who thinks seriously about America’s national security interests — by which I mean to exclude John McCain and Lindsey Graham can support Obama’s “plan” to shoot blindly into this hornet’s nest.

  • It would be completely different if we knew with absolute certainty that Assad was responsible for chemical attacks on his own people. (I’m still waiting to see if it was a Syrian upset about a YouTube video.)
  • It would be different if instead of killing a few hundred civilians, Assad had killed 5,000 civilians with poison gas in a single day, as well as tens of thousands more with chemical weapons in the past few decades.
  • It would be different if Assad were known to torture his own people, administer summary executions, rapes, burnings and electric shocks, often in front of the victim’s wife or children.
  • It would be different if Assad had acted aggressively toward the United States itself, perhaps attempting to assassinate a former U.S. president or giving shelter to terrorists who had struck within the U.S. — someone like Maj. Nidal Hasan, the Fort Hood terrorist.
  • It would be different if Assad were stirring up trouble in the entire Middle East by, for example, paying bounties to the families of suicide bombers in other countries.
  • It would also be different if we could be sure that intervention in Syria would not lead to a multi-nation conflagration.
  • It would be different if we knew that any action against Syria would not put al-Qaida or the Muslim Brotherhood in power, but rather would result in a functioning, peaceful democracy.
  • And it would be different if an attack on Syria would so terrify other dictators in the region that they would instantly give up their WMDs — say, Iran abandoning its nuclear program.

If all of that were true, this would be a military intervention worth supporting!

All of that was true about Iraq, but the Democrats hysterically opposed that war.

They opposed it even after all this was known to be true — indeed, especially after it was known to be true! The loudest opponent was Barack Obama.

  • President Saddam Hussein of Iraq had attempted to assassinate former president George H.W. Bush.
  • He gave shelter to Abdul Rahman Yasin, a conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.
  • He paid bounties to the families of suicide bombers in Israel.
  • Soon after Bush invaded Iraq in 2003, Libya’s Moammar Gadhafi was so terrified of an attack on his own country, he voluntarily relinquished his WMDs — which turned out to be far more extensive than previously imagined.
  • Al-Qaida not only did not take over Iraq, but got its butt handed to it in Iraq, where the U.S. and its allies killed thousands of al-Qaida fighters, including the leader of al-Qaida in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. Iraq became the first genuine Arab democracy, holding several elections and presiding over a trial of Saddam Hussein.

Does anyone imagine that any of this would result from an Obama-led operation in Syria?

Americans oppose any military action in Syria

NOT that what America or Congress wants means diddly to this corrupt administration. We learned that way back in the first months when they shoved ObamaCare down our throats against MAJORITY OPPOSITION that has only grown larger in the time since.

WTF

On Thursday, National Security Advisor Susan Rice, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel, Secretary of State John Kerry, and Director of National Intelligence James Clapper briefed 26 members of Congress about the situation in Syria.

Should we be surprised? No.

  • He played cards while Seal Team Six went after bin Laden.

  • Obama also sent Dennis Rodman to meet on his behalf with NoKo’s brutal dictator.

You really have to watch this video to get the full flavor of what a SICK JOKE Obama is for sending the likes of Dennis Rodman to represent the United States of America.  Talk about rodeo clowns.

Syria Update

August 28: Syria

  • Obama admitted publicly that U.S. intelligence has concluded the Syrian government used chemical WMDs on civilians last week.
  • Obama plans to ignore the fact that he couldn’t get U.N. approval for an attack on Syria, because Russia opposes it.
  • The Navy has moved a second aircraft carrier into the Gulf.

Obama said the White House will brief top congressional leaders this afternoon about Obama’s plans for a possible military strike.

Democrat and Republican members of Congress reminded Obama that just consulting with or informing Congress is not good enough to make military action legal.

Under the provisions of the War Powers Resolution (WPR), the President is required to notify Congress within 48 hours of the onset of US military involvement. They then have 60 days to get formal authorization from Congress and if they fail to do so must cease operations within 30 days.

Obama is unlikely to give a crap what Congress thinks or the Constitution says. In 2011, he ordered American warplanes into action over Libya without seeking authorization from Congress before or after.

The New York Times, the usual leakhole of Obama Inc, quoted officials describing a limited one or two day campaign that would degrade Assad’s ability to launch chemical weapons, without forcing him out of power. That might be true, but then again no less a figure than Barack H. Obama had promised that the Libyan intervention would last “days, not weeks”. It lasted months, not weeks, let alone days.

Meanwhile, Obama reportedly told several mayors that he would by-pass Congress to get more gun control.

“Phony” scandals?

Please lecture us about phony scandals

No matter how “phony” Obama may believe the Benghazi, IRS, (etc. etc. etc.) scandals are or how biased his lapdog media is in reporting on them, the American public can tell that Democrats are doing a crap job in Washington.

Before the federal government can pass a law, it must be passed by both the House of Representatives and the Senate, then signed by the President. At any given time, 2/3 or 3/3 are controlled by either Republicans or Democrats. The dominant controlling party obviously has the most power over what laws get passed and thus bears the majority of the responsibility for how well the government serves the people.

As you can see from this graphic, trust in government has been strongly correlated with which party this is. When Democrats have been in control, trust has fallen and distrust has risen. When Republicans have been in control, the opposite has been true.

Note: The dominant 2/3 or 3/3 party is in pale colors under the poll results. The breakdown is in dark colors at the bottom.

Democrats: Out of Touch with America

Reality Check Ahead

OBAMACARE: Nancy Pelosi described ObamaCare (The Affordable Care Act) as something that “captures the spirit of our founders” and will “put money back in the pockets of America’s patients” (WSJ, House.gov). POLLS show:

Only 37% have a favorable view of the law, down 9 points from a minority of 46% who approved of it at the time the Democrat-controlled Congress voted it into law. Meanwhile, Obama is spending money we don’t have to drum up support for this law that was passed more than four years ago, yet was so bad the very Congress that passed it went and exempted itself from.

RACE RELATIONS: When George Zimmerman was acquitted, Obama and many Democrat leaders said the nation needed to have an “honest discussion about race.” POLLS showed:

Only 35% of Americans agreed.

ECONOMY: In his latest series of speeches on the economy this summer, President Obama has insisted that “America has fought its way back” and has already “recovered” (LA Times). POLLS show:

Only 28% of Americans believe the U.S. economy is recovering.

ABORTION: Democrats are more pro-abortion than ever. In the 2012 election cycle, their TV ads were filled with pro-choice messaging, abortion rights activists were main speakers at the DNC, and the head of Planned Parenthood even introduced President Obama at a campaign rally (Politico).

Only 15% of Americans believe abortion is morally acceptable.

36% don’t know or don’t care about the morality of abortion.

49% believe abortion is morally wrong.

ObamaCare sucks

NBC: Businesses, Unions And Schools All Warn Of Cuts In Hours Due To ObamaCare [2:33]

Priceless quote: “I never thought it would impact me personally.”

And isn’t that precisely the problem? That the people who voted for these Democrat policies were all looking for SOMEONE ELSE to pay for stuff?

Even the shmucks in Congress know ObamaCare sucks. They exempted themselves from having to abide by the law they wrote and passed!

What he said

Jesus never said

The Supreme Court’s ruling on same-sex marriage was the topic on Sunday’s Meet the Press.

At the table discussing the issue, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow suggested that social conservatives have sought for a generation to demean gay Americans.

“Gay people, there’s nothing that we can do that make more or less of us exist,” Maddow said. “And you’ve been arguing for a generation that public policy ought to essentially demean gay people as a way of expressing disapproval. But you don’t make any less of us exist.”

Shooting back against this assertion, founder and chairman of the Faith and Freedom Coalition Ralph E. Reed, pointed to the hypocrisy just a decade ago among Democrats who voted in favor of the Defense of Marriage Act.

“This suggestion that because somebody wants to affirm the institution of marriage that they’re ipso-facto intolerant, by that argument, Barack Obama was intolerant 14 months ago,” Reed said.

“By that argument, 342 members of the House, 85 members of the Senate… Bill Clinton, who signed it into law, were intolerant and motivated by an animus and a hatred for gays.”

“Were they bigots?” he asks.

If you support Obama, you are not a Christian

Rep. John Fleming (R-LA) passed an amendment in the House Armed Services Committee protecting religious speech of service members in the military.

President Barack Obama says if it passes the full House and Senate, he will veto it.

In other words, Obama WANTS his appointees and officers free to dictate to chaplains what prayers, religious teachings and spiritual counseling they are permitted to offer and free to forbid soldiers from mentioning Jesus during a prayer or having a Bible on their desks.

No higher power

For four years Barack Obama has waged an unparalleled and largely undocumented by the mainstream media attack on the religious liberties of Christians in the United States. From cutting funding for religious schools to assaulting the Catholic Church, Obama has made his agenda clear.

Consider just one rich comparison. He left the words “endowed by their Creator” out of his speech when quoting the Declaration of Independence,  then ended a speech condemning all efforts to limit abortion in any way (by 42 states no less!) with “God bless you, Planned Parenthood.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_M4qnlCYrc

I’ve never come right out and said this before, but I think this latest public statement to veto any attempt to protect the religious freedom of military members makes it just over-the-top clear to me. If you support Obama, you are not a Christian.

You can call yourself whatever you want. It doesn’t mean God will recognize you at judgment. “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.” Matthew 7:21
