Left vs. Right

Five 5-minute videos by Dennis Prager explore the philosophical differences between Left and Right. This is well worth your time and attention.

Also, bookmark it. You will almost certainly encounter situations down the road where you will want to review what he said on a particular point so you can repeat it to somebody who needs to hear it.

APRIL 18: Task Force Briefing [1:07:25] – Yay! I got in a great nap and have lots of energy to listen to this for all y’all.

On a per capita basis, our mortality is far lower than other nations, with the exception of Germany (if their numbers are accurate), Iran and China (whose numbers are fershure not accurate). Media says nothing but, “We have the most deaths! Orange. Man. Bad.”

The Payroll Protection Program is so successful at saving small businesses from closing for good that the $350 billion is gone. Small businesses make up about 50% of our economy.

Republicans want to pump another $250 billion into the program immediately. Democrats have been holding up the vote trying to get more pork, just like they did with the virus aid package. Continue reading

OPENING AMERICA: April 17 Task Force Briefing [1:43:57] – Yesterday, I spent so long on the ChiCom/WHO timeline, I didn’t have any energy left to listen to this and provide you with notes. Last night, I slept really badly, so if there was another briefing on the 18th, I’ll probably skip that one too. Sorry about this!

COVID-19 Pandemic Timeline

Timeliness of WHO Cover-up Revealed: [6:50] – The World Health Organization (WHO) is facing a flurry of criticism for its response to the CCP virus pandemic, and much of the problem can be attributed to the growing influence the communist regime in China has on the organization. Beijing’s clout has now gone so far, it undermines WHO’s basic functions, such as providing timely and accurate information about the world’s health situation.

December 31 – China first reports to the WHO that they have a cluster of unusual pneumonia cases in Wuhan. Taiwan begins screening inbound passengers from Wuhan. See April 15 for how effective their early intervention proved to be.

January 2 – The ChiComs actively block publication of information about the Wuhan virus. People who tried to warn people, including doctors, were detained for “spreading rumors.”

January 3 – The ChiComs inform the WHO about 44 cases, 11 of them severe.

January 4 – WHO tweets about “a cluster of pneumonia cases” in Wuhan, noting there have been no deaths and saying investigations into the cause are underway.

January 5 – The WHO issues its first guidance on “pneumonia of unknown cause’ in Wuhan, China, saying the main symptom is listed as fever, with “a few patients having difficulty breathing.” Continue reading

Reopening America

I’m exhausted so there will be no CtH notes on last night’s Task Force briefing. Here’s the link to President Trump’s Guidelines for Opening Up America Again.

It’s a three-phased approach based on the advice of public health experts. These steps will help state and local officials when reopening their economies, getting people back to work, and continuing to protect American lives.

The White House daily email said this:

President Trump’s plan calls for a phased return, outlining specific steps for state and local officials to follow in tailoring their response. The criteria include showing a downward trajectory of COVID-like symptoms reported over 14 days in a given state or region, as well as a decline in documented cases or positive tests during the same 14-day window.

A region’s hospital and healthcare system capacity is another important factor. The President’s guidelines specify that hospitals be able to treat all patients without crisis care before a state or region reopens for business. Robust testing programs, including emerging antibody testing, should be in place to protect at-risk healthcare workers.

When America reopens, core state preparedness responsibilities won’t change. The ability to set up safe, efficient screening and testing sites remains essential. States will continue to advise citizens on protocols for social distancing and use of face coverings. Continue reading

2020_04 17 Whitsett

PUT ASIDE PARTISANSHIP: Michigan Democrat State Rep. Karen Whitsett has recovered from COVID-19. She credits hydroxychloroquine and says, “Everyone needs to get behind the president of the United States and the vice president of the United States and we need to simply unite together. …Whatever your party is, that is neither here nor there at this time. Right now we are human beings in the United States of America and we need to unite.”

April 15: Task Force briefing notes

The briefing begins an hour into the video and ends after 57 minutes. I’m sorry, but I couldn’t find a YouTube version that was just the talking part and WordPress won’t reliably embed any other video sourse, so I’m going to deduct one hour from all my times.

POTUS comes out: Mitigation works, we’re winning, etc. The numbers of masks, gowns, etc. that have been delivered where they’re needed is in the tens of millions per.

It annoys me that the media can’t be bothered to praise the people organizing and doing all this important work. I also keep coming across talking and writing heads whining about how they should have known then what they know now about this completely new disease so they could have done a less drastic shut down.
