ECONOMICS If pigs could vote

VOTER SUPPRESESION: Stacey Abrams, Hillary Clinton, and Kamala Harris are actively promoting a conspiracy theory about a nationwide voter suppression scheme they claim has already cost the Democrats key contests in 2018.

Wait, wut? Didn’t they win the House in 2018?

Ironically, the probable effect of such evidence-free claims will be to depress Democratic turnout in 2020 as the very supporters upon whom they heavily rely conclude there is little point in voting. Continue reading →

Mary Cassatt

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!  And thank you all who prayed for our Daisey. The vet said she has Lyme Disease. It’s treatable, so I’m trying not to be freaked out. Tick abatement lawn maintenance and tick body checks have been moved to the tippy top of our priority lists. She’s on antibiotics and managed to walk about 4/10ths of a mile yesterday. She was slow, but she did her business and occasionally got interested in sniffing. Instead, she had a private, unsecured server set up through which she sent and received both her State Department email and her personal drivel. Continue reading →

A Few Sun Facts

happy sun

Scientist have now shown that sunscreen chemicals soak all the way into the bloodstream. But the Food and Drug Administration has never tested how they might mess up people’s hormones, affect their reproductive systems, or cause cancer.

Wait, wut?! My grandkids get slathered with the stuff on a regular basis! Ack! I’m chemically hypersensitive, so I’m always inclined to lean heavily on “Don’t Trust Chemicals.”

But my brother died of a malignant melanoma. And Hubby Dearest has vitiligo; patches of his skin and hair are white. His still-Italian-pigmented skin tans beautifully every summer, but what I call his “pinto patches” turn pink, including the entire back of his neck. Continue reading →
