On October 20, 2016, John Cassidy, in The New Yorker, confidently declared about Donald Trump, “He’s going out as a sore loser, raving at the world, threatening to unleash chaos.” Joe Scarborough, on MSNBC, said on August 15, 2016, “That’s a guy who knows he is going to lose. That’s a guy who knows he is going to lose.”
Regardless of what pollsters, pundits, and professionals may say, the fact is that no one knows what will happen on Tuesday. Will there be a blue wave? Is it going to be a split decision? Is it possible a red wave will form? I don’t know, nor does anyone else. There are some interesting aspects of this election cycle, though, that are going underreported.
The bottom line is this: no one knows what Tuesday will bring. Don’t let the opinions of the experts discourage you. What happens on Tuesday is up to you. Vote.
But one issue stands out: border security. Amazingly, the pollsters admit it’s the first time they’ve asked about border security, and 59 percent of registered voters said it is an important issue in the election. Eighty-four percent of Republicans and 47 percent of Democrats ranked border security as a key issue; independents were evenly split. Republicans have a ten-point lead over Democrats on the question of who will better handle border security, and a 19-point lead among independents
On Tuesday, all eyes will be on the more than two dozen toss-up House races. It’s here where Democrats don’t appear to have the strong advantage they need to win several of these contests that will take them over the top. The poll shows a slim preference for Democrats—49-44 percent—in these toss-up districts; considering the margin of error in the poll (3.5 percent), it’s essentially a tie.
Barack Obama is a complete fraud … always was. A creation of a media obsessed with elevating “the first black president”, he burst on the scene at the 2004 Democrat convention and in four short years was elected president.
But without his teleprompter and carefully worded, self- aggrandizing speeches, he’s nothing more than a petulant juvenile who has had everything done for him.
Now he’s trying desperately to remain relevant while his legacy is dismantled by the only man with the balls and the will to do it.
Obama’s 90-Second Temper Tantrum About Conservatives And The Midterm Election
“In 2010, they said Bill and I were setting up death panels to kill your grandma. Remember that? In 2014 they said Ebola is going to kill all of us, shut the borders,” Obama explained. “In 2016, it was Hillary’s emails. They were all wound up about that. Now, in 2018, they’re telling you the existential threat to America is a bunch of poor refugees a thousand miles away. They’re even taking our brave troops away from their families for a political stunt at the border. And our men and women deserve better than that.”
It’s easy to say that Republicans are trying to scare people into voting for them but the reality is simple: back in 2014, people were very afraid of Ebola. In 2016, Americans were genuinely concerned about Hillary’s emails and the lack of security she had. And now, Americans are worried about what’s taking place on our southern border.
That’s not “fear-mongering.” It’s called being in touch with the average American family.
The sub-headline was baffling, “PRESIDENT Trump surprised a crowd of his supporters at his latest ‘Make America Great Again’ rally by suggesting he could be about to leave shortly after he started speaking.”
I turned to read the piece and immediately knew someone was coo-coo.
The president made a joke at a rally in Estero, Florida. He asked the crowd who had already voted. Many raised their hand indicating they had.
President Trump said, “Wow! Everybody voted already? Then what the hell am I doing here tonight? Goodbye.”
He started to leave, everyone laughed, and he continued his speech.
Once again, the media misrepresented the president. Once again, people saw right through it. Once again, the credibility of the press diminished just a little more.
Dan Crenshaw Fires Back at ‘SNL’ Star Pete Davidson:‘Vets Don’t Deserve to See Their Wounds Used as Punchlines’
Davidson said during Saturday’s “Weekend Update” segment that Dan Crenshaw, whose photo was displayed, was “kinda cool” but that viewers might be “surprised he’s a congressional candidate from Texas and not a hit man in a porno movie.” He added, “I’m sorry, I know he lost his eye in war or whatever.”
FOR THOSE WITH A SENSE OF THE MORBID OR A VERY STRONG GAG REFLEX, HERE’S THE SWILL THEY AIRED LAST SATURDAY:
Crenshaw, who is running against Democrat Todd Litton for an open suburban Houston district seat, replied in a tweet on Sunday, saying: “Good rule in life: I try hard not to offend; I try harder not to be offended. That being said, I hope @nbcsnl recognizes that vets don’t deserve to see their wounds used as punchlines for bad jokes.”
It’s true that the major media is uniformly opposed to Trump and his party, but as Rasmussen also notes, they have less sway on voters than they would hope:
The majority of voters believe the media is more interested in creating controversies about candidates than in reporting where they stand on the issues. Voters also think the media is trying to help Democrats in the upcoming elections which helps explain why Democratic voters are much bigger fans of election news coverage than others are.
So who’s peddling the Blue Wave scenario?
I tend to agree with Roger Kimball that it is those who cannot believe they lost in 2016:
If only the Democrats sweep the midterm elections, they say to themselves, then we can put this awful anomaly, this hideous wrinkle in the order of the universe, behind us.
Adam Carolla and Dennis Prager on Dealing With the Left: Don’t Apologize
“ultimately what they want is an apology and they want you backpedaling”
They don’t want apologies; they want submission. They have no capacity for kindness or forgiveness. Only anger, pain and an obsession to control everything.
You can say whatever you want like you could say whatever you want 20 years ago but you won’t have a job on Monday,” said Carolla, responding to a question from Carlson about whether or not Americans are “less free” to so speak than 20 years ago.
“At a certain point you cannot let the left intimidate you,” added Prager. “And when you don’t they go crazy because they are so used to being able to intimidate. That’s his point and I second it.”
To Carolla, conceding to the left is like making deals with terrorists when they take hostages.
The media fully expects to be cheering a democrat takeover of the House tomorrow.
Media: Voters Set to Deliver ‘Verdict’ on ‘Trumpism’
The Los Angeles Times features a dire outlook for Republicans: “With Democrats well-positioned to take the House, Republicans scurry to save the Senate.” It cast the election as a scramble for the GOP — though it noted Republicans still had a chance to hold the House:
Swamped by a tidal wave of Democratic cash, Republicans entered the final 72 hours of the midterm campaign scrambling to preserve their slim Senate majority as a bulwark against the increasing prospect of a Democrat-run House.
Armed Black Panthers Chant ‘Black Power’ In Georgia As They Campaign For Dem Candidate Stacey Abrams
In a video posted on the group’s Facebook page on Saturday, members of the Black Panther Party are seen marching through the West End neighborhood of Atlanta in support of Democrat Stacey Abrams’ gubernatorial campaign. As they marched, the Black Panthers carried assault rifles and continually shouted slogans such as “black power” and “power to the people.”
Father in heaven, as we approach this election on Tuesday, we pray that all your people will vote prayerfully and with wisdom, discernment and love. Keep us faithful to Your Word and help us each turn to it every day for light in these dark times. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
TOO CLOSE TO CALL: Rasmussen (Oct 31, 2018) polling showed Democrats three points ahead of Republicans on the Generic Congressional Ballot (MOE +/- 2 points). Let us pray that the Democrats are as overly optimistic about tomorrow as they were in 2016.
STILTON:“The choices in this election are stark: mobs versus jobs, capitalism versus socialism, hate versus debate, division versus unity, logic versus emotion, and responsibility versus hedonistic chaos.”
Vote Republican Song(LOL … thanks, Mindful! I love it!)
BORDER: A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 50% of Likely U.S. Voters think the U.S. military should be used along the borderwith Mexico to prevent illegal immigration. Forty-two percent (42%) disagree.
LIST OF TRUMP’S MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS:Overall President Trump’s first two years since the 2016 election are outstanding. He was attacked from all sides at times yet stood tall. America is stronger and greater than ever before. The economy is growing and the world is safer. President Trump kept his promises and has truly Made America Great Again!
BLEXIT:The party that freed the slaves continues to liberate black Americans today. And they’re noticing. In 2016, Trump won 8% of the black vote, which was 2% up from what Mitt Romney got in 2012. Considering how hard the Democrats and their shills in the media pounded on the FAKE NEWS that Trump is a “racist”, his total was astonishing. What’s much more amazing is that today his approval among blacks is at a record-high 40%. And for good cause. After 8 years under the great black hope, Barack Hussein Obama, the black community was doing worse than ever.
Today, after just two years under Trump and a Republican majority congress, 1.2 million more black Americans have found work and the number of blacks living below the poverty line is at a historic low. In addition, Trump has done two things important to the black community that Obama never bothered with. He and Jared Kushner, his Orthodox Jewish son-in-law and senior adviser, have made criminal-justice reform a major issue. And he made Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s burial site a national historic park.
HATE: It’s not a Republican thing. The person who wrote “Kill all Jews” in a Brooklyn synagogue was a canvasser for Barack Obama and an employee of former New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn. According to the New York Times: “During the past 22 months, not one person caught or identified as the aggressor in an anti-Semitic hate crime has been associated with a far right-wing group.”
CtH Rant:One of the things Obama fumed about at a recent campaign rally was that Republicans are “even taking our brave troops away from their families for a political stunt at the border. And our men and women deserve better than that.” OH PUH-LEEZE!
Dear Mr. FORMER President, Do not talk to us about what our troops and their families DESERVE. I remember the time you up and decided you HAD to play a round of golf and our brave troops were taken away from their families to guard you. Do you remember that?! IT WAS ON CHRISTMAS DAY.
I’m guessing you and Michelle had a fight and, while I can appreciate how holiday family tensions can make you want to get out of the house for a while, you did NOT have to GOLF. Your detail could’ve just driven you around Hawaii for a while.
Not that you ever considered other people at holidays. Not like the Bush clan. They spent all 12 Christmases at Camp David, because it allowed the greatest number of their support folks to spend Christmas with their own families.
THOUGHT PIECE:Modern Democrats share with the Nazis the claim that the only way to heal what ails this planet and perhaps even prevent the demise of all of humanity is to put them in power. … In order to pursue their stated goal of “preventing harm to the environment,” Hitler’s Third Reich passed the Reichsnaturschutzgesetz (Reich Nature Protection Law) in 1933. According to Duncan Bayne in “How to Spot a Nazi,” the purpose of this act was to increase control over the German populace by requiring that decisions on how a person could use his property be first approved by the Reich. Sound familiar?
BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP: This is a hot button issue with Democrats these days. But the 14th Amendment had nothing at all to do with babies born on our soil to non-citizens, particularly not to those here illegally. The 14th Amendment was enacted after the Civil War to prevent the states (namely, those controlled by pro-slavery Democrats who were pissed about losing the war) from denying former slaves the privileges and immunities of citizenship.
WHAT DEMOCRATS USED TO SAY:“If making it easy to be an illegal alien isn’t enough, how about offering a reward for being an illegal immigrant? No sane country would do that, right? Guess again. If you break our laws by entering this country without permission and give birth to a child, we reward that child with U.S. citizenship and guarantee a full access to all public and social services this society provides. And that’s a lot of services.” – Sen. Harry Reid in a speech on the Senate floor on September 20, 1993.
NOT TRUE:My congressman, Tom Reed, posted a text exchange between one of his opponent’s spokescritters and a Republican. The former said, “Capitalism and Communism are both evil. Socialism is in the middle, so you should want that.” I posted, “Tell that to the million of people who died as a result of the genocides and wars of aggression inflicted on Europe by the National Socialist German Workers’ Party (NAZI).”
NOT FUNNY:“Saturday Night Live” cast member Pete Davidson mocked the appearance of Republican congressional candidate Dan Crenshaw, a former Navy SEAL who lost his eye in an IED blast in Afghanistan. “You may be surprised to hear he’s a congressional candidate for Texas and not a hit-man in a porno movie.”Anyone who would use a war wound as the punch line to a “joke” is beneath contempt.
