MASCOT UPDATE: British Columbia is GORGEOUS!

Shortly before they got to Bear Glacier, they saw an actual bear. The toe of the glacier is visible from the highway on the way to Stewart.

They also visited the estuary boardwalk near Stewart, which extends half a mile out across the tidal flats at the head of Portland Canal, a 70 mile long fjord which forms a portion of the border Canada and the southeastern edge of the Alaska Panhandle. It’s a great place for viewing wetland plants and birds, as well as the adjacent mountains.

Bits & Bytes

I’m sorry to be gone AGAIN. Another flare up combined with the ever-dreaded computer upgrade. I am enjoying the amazing speed, while hating the all-too-familiar angst of making the new one do everything the old one did. Thankfully, Dearest invested muy bucks in a plug-and-play, 2-USB cord to connect the old with the new, so I have ready access to my data, if not to all of the programs and log ins (yet). I can’t do any fun graphics until I get Photoshop installed, but here are a few items from my constipated email backlog so all y’all will know I am, in fact, still breathing.

MASCOTS’ MOVE: Update

Despite having only 20,000 miles on it and having been serviced right before they left, the Buzzers’ truck broke down in British Columbia, stranding them for 5 days. The folks in the little, no-cell-service town were very nice to them and Mama Buzz said they really needed the rest after going full bore for far too long packing, cleaning, and saying their good-byes. So, yes, their carefully planned travel schedule got messed up, but the truck is repaired and they’re back on the road. Please pray for them to have a safe and uneventful trip from here on.

2018_08 05 On the road again

While surfing for a local Mass, Mama Buzz came across this lovely church notice: Jesus said, “Let the children come to me.” Children are a gift. The way we welcome children in church affects the way they respond to the Church and to one another. Let them know that they are at home in this house.  So, welcome them and give a smile to their parents. Children, we like having you here! Parents, relax! God put the wiggle in children; don’t feel you have to suppress it in God’s house. Sit toward the front, even in the first row. It is easier for your little ones to see and hear what’s going on at the altar. They tire of seeing the backs of others’ heads. Bring items to help your small child during the service and don’t forget the coloring pages and crayons in the lobby. Quietly explain the parts of the liturgy and actions of the priest, servers, etc. Sing, pray, and voice the responses. Children learn by copying you. If you have to leave with your child, feel free to do so, but please come back!

Speaking of children … please keep our youngest grandchild in your prayers. He isn’t due to leave the womb until October 29th, but his mama went into preterm labor on Friday. The docs have stopped it and she is resting at her far-from-home hospital. It isn’t clear if she’ll have to stay in the hospital for the duration or if they will let her come home to bed rest. Either way, they’ve got a lot of support at home from friends and family in their rural community, so hubby and #1 son are in good hands. The main concern is that our grandson stay tucked inside until his lungs are fully developed. Thanks so much!

SHOCK REPORT: Democrat Sen. Dianne Feinstein Had Communist Chinese Spy in Inner Circle for Nearly 20 Years

The column revealed that the Chinese spy was Feinstein’s driver who also served as a gofer in her Bay Area office and was a liaison to the Asian-American community. You’d think that the news media would be tripping all over themselves to report on DiFi’s Chinese spy. But, nope. Continue reading

Kris Kobach: Democrats’ ‘Long-Term Strategy’ is Importing Foreign Voters to Replace Americans

“This is a long-term strategy among some in the Democrat Party that they would like to solidify and create a permanent grip on power by getting as many aliens into this country as quickly as possible and getting them naturalized so that they can then vote,” Kobach said. Continue reading
