CELEBRITIES: Variety has published an attack on director Ron Howard and producer Brian Grazer – both self-avowed liberals – for making a movie out of J.D. Vance’s book, Hillbilly Elegy. Their charge is that the two “may have created a monster by legitimizing [Vance’s] origin story.”
MYTH BUSTER: [18:34] – Debunking Democrat tales claiming Trump staged his own shooting for political benefit. They examine the weapons, ballistics, and real distances, explaining each thing in layman’s terms. I found it fascinating.
I’m reminded of the video I posted yesterday (CLICK https://x.com/BackThebluecool/status/1814489451051049093 [1:58]) that said the shot that hit Trump’s ear was responsible for the severe injuries to the bystander who survived. The myth busters show why the bullet that pierced Trump’s ear did little damage, yet was capable of continuing on and doing massive injury to someone many feet behind him.
After watching the simulation of what the SS sniper’s gun did to Crooks’ head, I found the photo they wouldn’t show. It’s grainy, but gory. Please scroll if you’re squeamish.
PEDO: Boston Children’s Hospital is one of the leading medical institutions pushing for gender surgeries for kids. Christopher Sheerer, one of its (now former) pediatric cardiac anesthesiologists, has been arrested and charged with producing and distributing child porn.
I watched part of Secret Service Director Cheatle’s appearance before the House Oversight Committee. It was frustrating. One representative got to disgusted with Cheatle’s litany of “I don’t know” and “I’ll get back to you later”, she blurted out, “You are so full of shit!”
In her prepared statement, Cheatle said, “I take full responsibility for any security lapse. And “Thinking about what we should have done differently is never far from my thoughts.” But then her responses to almost every single question was so much pointless hot air that even the Democrats got testy with her.

One of the reps posed all her questions as Yes or No answers, prefacing her questioning with the warning that those were the only answers she would accept. And she stuck to it. One of her questions was “Would you characterize the Trump shooting as a catastrophic failure by the Secret Service?”
Despite the fact that everybody knows this, Cheatle tried to equivocate. God bless the tough chick who nailed her feet to the floor and finally got her to answer, “Yes.”
[9:46] – Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) couldn’t get her to answer questions she should have been prepared to answer. Keep in mind while listening to this that her testimony occurred nine days after the shooting. How could she not have such basic information?! A commenter on this video said what a lot of us are thinking: “That woman is a liar covering up an inside job. Period!”
[8:53] – Rep. Michael Waltz (R-FL) says she and Mayorkas, Biden’s Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, should both be fired.
2024: I honestly thought Dems would get Joe to step down by threatening him with the 25th. Now they’re apparently threatening to use it on him to make Harris look better! [5:25]
CROWDSTRIKE: On July 18, CrowdStrike, an independent cybersecurity company, released a software update that turned millions of computers into doorstops. On July 15, 2024, just three days prior, Chief Security Officer Shawn Henry sold off 4,000 of his shares (about $1.5M worth) in CrowdStrike Holdings Inc.
Apparently, Henry has been steadily selling off his CrowdStrike shares for about a year, maybe because July’s crash was the third such incident in 2024. On April 19, 2024, Crowdstrike issued a flawed software update that crashed computers running Debian Linux builds and kept them from rebooting normally. And on May 13, 2024, a CrowdStrike upgrade caused Rocky Linux servers to freeze.
Crowdstrike’s President and CEO George Kurtz has an interesting history. In October 2009, McAfee promoted him to chief technology officer and executive vice president. Six months later, McAfee accidentally disrupted its customers’ operations around the world when it pushed out a faulty software update that turned its customers’ computers into doorstops.

CALIFORNICATION: When a 7-year-old added “any life” to her “Black Lives Matter” drawing, the principal came down on her hard for what he said was an inappropriate and racist act. He made her publicly apologize and banned her from recess and drawing pictures for two weeks.
Her parents sued the Orange County school district, claiming her First Amendment rights had been violated. A California judge recently found in favor of the principal. According to the judge, disciplining the little girl was the principal’s job, not the federal court’s.
Unfortunately, his decision did not address the standards set by SCOTUS in 1969 which requires that, before punishing a child for unpopular speech, a public school must establish that the speech itself constituted a “substantial disruption.”
I’m thinking the principal opened up the school district, and its taxpayers, to “substantial disruption” by making a mountain out of this little girl’s drawing. They’ve already had to pay out to defend the district in court and the case isn’t over. The Pacific Legal Foundation is representing the girl pro bono, and has appealed to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
They say, “An elementary school is not a totalitarian environment in which students have no rights. The district court was wrong to claim otherwise and set a dangerous precedent, totally stripping elementary school students of their First Amendment rights.”
Personally, I am bewildered why the original complaint wasn’t handled with a little sit down between the two moms and their daughters, who are friends. According to the reports I read, nobody ever even explained to the wee artist why she was being punished!
DEI: Microsoft has disbanded its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) team. IOW, the entire staff of the Department of Didn’t Earn It has been found surplus to requirements. ::snork::
MICHIGAN: Trump and Vance held their first joint rally in Grand Rapids. I was curious how his ear is doing, so looked around for a close up (above). News reports say tens of thousands lined the streets to greet him and that the line to get into hear him was a mile long.
NEW HAMPSHIRE: On July 19, Gov. Sununu signed three bills and vetoed one that affect how schools, businesses, and medical establishments consider transgender-related issues.
The three approved bills include: HB1205, which keeps girls’ sports exclusive to girls; HB619, which bans genital gender reassignment surgery for minors; and HB1312, which gives parents more control over how, if at all, their children are taught about sex and gender at school.
The vetoed bill was HB396, which sought to protect private businesses and government agencies from repercussion for creating private spaces and facilities for men and women. Sununu said the problem of repercussions doesn’t exist in New Hampshire, so it did not require a law to fix it.

TRUMP SHOOTING: I posted the gunshot analysis video above a few days ago. [20:37] – Update: Fox News has confirmed that there were three separate shooters. In addition to Crooks, a local police sniper fired at Crooks, but missed. A Secret Service sniper fired at Crooks and killed him.

This video does not address the two shots fired at Crooks by local police and Secret Service snipers.
I’m confused about the shooting of Comperatore. His daughter said his first action was to throw her and her mother on the floor of the bleacher and cover them with his body. The reenactment shows him standing and getting hit in the head.
GRAMMY NOTES: I’m so proud of our Bunny! She got up in front of everybody at Mass on Sunday and lead the Responsorial Psalm, which was taken from Psalm 23. If you’re not familiar, the cantor (Bunny) sings the response line, then invites the congregation to repeat it. Then the cantor sings the verses solo, inviting the congregation to repeat the response line after each segment.
2024: Biden announced yesterday that he is dropping out of the presidential race. He will stay in office for the remainder of his term.
Democrat rules prevent Biden from giving the 3,896 delegates he won in primaries and caucuses to anyone, but he has endorsed Harris, who has accepted and says she will seek to win the nomination at the Democratic Convention.
Other candidates could make pitches during or ahead of the convention, which is scheduled for Aug. 19–22 in Chicago, Illinois. Some of those names that have been floated include California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.), Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, Maryland Gov. Wes Moore, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, former First Lady Michelle Obama, and Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear.
COVID-19: A study entitled “Social Distancing During the COVID-19 Pandemic and Neonatal Mortality in the US” was published on July 18, 2024 in JAMA. It reports on research done at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) that found a connection between social distancing mandates and infant health outcomes.
Researchers evaluated over 18 million births from 2016 to 2020, comparing pre-pandemic years to the period after officials enacted public health restrictions in March 2020. They found that, two months after social distancing was implemented, neonatal mortality and preterm births increased. The neonatal period includes the first four weeks of a baby’s life.
They observed that, during the pandemic, there were fewer prenatal visits and medical checkups, appointments that are important to catch and address complications that could be life-threatening to both mother and baby.
EVs: BYD Americas, the U.S. subsidiary of a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer and Stella, Li, one of its top executives have given hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign cash to Democrats in recent years.
TRUMP’S EAR: A week after the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, former White House physician and current Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas) says, “The bullet track produced a 2 cm wide wound that extended down to the cartilaginous surface of the ear. There was initially significant bleeding, followed by marked swelling of the entire upper ear.”
Dr. Jackson added that the swelling has since resolved and the wound is starting to “granulate and heal properly.” The former White House doctor further noted that, because there are many blood vessels in the ear, there is still some bleeding from the wound from time to time, necessitating a dressing to be put in place.
WHISTLEBLOWER: [12:46] – The “security screw ups” were planned. I gotta wonder how those two gals feel about having been put in the line of fire on purpose. Maybe they’re the whistleblowers … just a thought. Trump was supposed to die.

EDUCATION: A federal appeals court has issued an order that blocks all remaining parts of the federal government’s Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) student debt relief plan that weren’t blocked by an earlier lower-court ruling.
IT OUTAGE: Early Friday, a cybersecurity company called CrowdStrike deployed a faulty software update to computers running Microsoft Windows, causing them to crash, grounding flights, knocking banks offline and leaving media outlets showing nothing but the “blue screen of death.” One tech expert says, “I don’t think it’s too early to call it: this will be the largest IT outage in history.”
J6: Good news … following June 28 decision by the Supremes, U.S. prosecutors have started dropping obstruction charges against J6ers.
SHOT ANALYSIS: [20:37] – I highly recommend you not only watch this with your whole brain, but also with a full screen. This isn’t tin foil hat stuff. This is a scientific audio analysis of multiple recordings proving there were at least two shooters, possibly even three. These do not count the shot the authorized sniper took that killed Crooks.

On Jesse Waters, Rep. Michael Waltz said the FBI has told him Crooks had three encrypted overseas accounts and noted the intelligence chatter about an Iranian plot to kill Trump that supposedly caused Secret Service to beef up his protection. (For all the good that did …)
On the other side of the aisle, Democrats and talking heads in the Lame Stream Media are saying Trump wasn’t actually shot, that it was just fake blood, and that his bandage at the convention was a prop to get sympathy votes.
Incredibly, a new poll shows a third of Biden’s supporters believe this crap. I’ll let you know if I see a poll showing how many Trump supporters believe Crooks was a patsy for some deeper conspiracy, possibly involving domestic and/or foreign anti-Trumpers.
TRUMP’S EAR: This is the first close up shot I’ve seen of his injury. It looks to me like the bullet tore out two chunks of flesh. I had imagined he was hit just on the outer part of the helix, where his ear was farthest from his head. But there is also a gouge on the inner part of the helix right by his temple.
WONDERING: [20:26] – One of my Marines was privileged to be present on the South Lawn to greet President George W. Bush returning from a meeting on Marine One. She referred to the Secret Service snipers securing the scene from every vantage point as “very scary guys.” I just cannot believe that some 20-year-old doofus with a gun and a ladder was able to even get near the venue, much less climb on to a roof top that had been oopsie left unsecured within yards of a former president and current presidential candidate. Add at least one, possibly two other guns and, yeah, we’re looking at a conspiracy that had Thomas Matthew Crooks as the fall guy. They probably told him he’d be remembered forever. “Escape your parents’ basement and your dead end job and become world famous, you big loser!” All he had to do was DIE.
2024: [1:32:23] – Trump’s acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention, Day 4. Beginning at 3:05, he talks about his experiences on Saturday. He says he won’t tell the story again, because it is too painful. That segment lasts about 13 minutes. You’ll need a tissue.
COVID-19: What is this … his third time?! Dearest and I refused the jab and were banned from celebrating with family for all the holidays that year. Since then, they have ALL got the ‘rona, some more than once, while we have not gotten it at all.

PROPHECY: [44:54] – This video was posted on March 14, 2024. In it, the guy on the left describes a vision in which he saw Trump have a bullet whiz by his head, nicking his right ear.
TRUMP: [7:29] – The Body Language Guy analyzes the dramatic change in Trump’s facial expressions since the shooting. One commenter posted that, speaking from experience, “Getting shot changes you. You’re never the same again.”

In August of 2017, North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un made public threats to annihilate our bases on the Pacific Island of Guam with medium-to-long-range strategic ballistic missiles. Guam, an unincorporated territory of the United States, houses the two closest bases on U.S. soil to North Korea, and represent the westernmost tip of the country’s military might.
On Aug 12, 2017, President Trump phoned Guam’s governor, Eddie Calvo, to assure him the U.S. was behind Guam “1,000 percent.” The governor told him, “I’ve never felt so safe, or felt more confident, with you at the helm.”
On Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017, Governor Eddie Baza Calvo and First Lady Christine Calvo held a Prayer for Peace gathering at the Government House in Agana Heights in honor of the Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima* visiting Guam in celebration of the centennial year of the Fatima apparitions. At the gathering, the First Lady led the holy rosary. Guam is a predominantly Catholic community.
On June 12, 2018, then-President Donald J. Trump of the United States and Chairman Kim Jong-Un held a historic summit in Singapore at which they signed an accord. Among the promises, North Korea agreed to denuclearize.
Guam’s Gov. Calvo said, “This agreement paves the way for peace between the U.S. and North Korea and moves us toward the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula. The Territory of Guam is thankful to our President and his stance on peace through strength policy which elevated peace within the Asia Pacific region — this is something we truly are grateful for.”
Calvo also noted that, fifteen minutes after Trump signed the agreement with Kim Jong-Un, the statue of Our Lady of Fatima arrived at his house. “I don’t believe in coincidences.”
As Trump was traveling back to D.C., Gov. Calvo was able to enjoy a brief visit with POTUS while Air Force One refueled. During their meeting, he gave Trump what Sarah Huckabee Sanders called “a religious momento that symbolizes world peace. Later, Gov. Calvo said he had given him a scapular, though I couldn’t find any mention of which one it was.** Best guess, it was the Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.***
With Dementia Joe at the helm, North Korea has blatantly violated the 2018 accord. Four days ago, The Nuclear Notebook reported, “North Korea continues to modernize and grow its nuclear weapons arsenal [and] may have produced enough fissile material to hypothetically build up to 90 nuclear warheads, but has likely assembled fewer than that—potentially around 50. To deliver the warheads, North Korea is enhancing and diversifying its missile force, most recently with new solid-fuel long-range strategic missiles, short-range tactical missiles, and sea-based missiles.”

DRAINING THE SWAMP: As I reported a couple of weeks ago, the recent Supreme Court decision in Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo struck down a 40-year-old precedent known as the “Chevron deference.”
For the past four decades, legislators have been free to write sloppy, ambiguous laws that federal agencies were then free to interpret however they chose. This one thing has gone a long way toward empowering the unelected bureaucrats in D.C. who are collectively known as The Swamp.
Members of Congress are complaining that Loper Bright will now force them to work harder both to draft laws in unambiguous language and to garner enough aye votes to get them enacted.
To this I say, “Cry me a river.” Maybe the influx of liberal tears will help wash away the stink.
GOLD STAR FAMILIES: [13:09] – Tears flowed at the Republican National Convention as families of the 13 military members who were killed during Biden’s chaotic retreat from Afghanistan spoke of their loss, of the lack of recognition they received from Joe Biden, and of the extraordinary tenderness with which Donald Trump shared their grief. The deceased were:

I was tearing up as I listened, but when the crowd began naming the deceased, I lost it. Any one of those kids could’ve been one of mine. I still have two in uniform. They deserve a Commander in Chief they can respect, a leader who will not send them on stupid, politically-motivated missions, and who will grieve when and if they are injured or, God forbid, killed.
Marc Clauson, professor of history and law at Ohio’s Cedarville University, notes that Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), checks a diversity box that most people overlook “… socioeconomic diversity.” He grew up poor in the Rust Belt, then graduated from Yale Law and became a venture capitalist.
He also served in the United States Marine Corps, which certainly appeals to this military mom. Go, Green!

In his speech to the NAACP on Tuesday, FAUXTUS said, “We all have a responsibility to lower the tempergee — temperature and condemn violence in any form. … We must fully and firmly reject not only political violence but violence of any kind. Period. No exceptions.”
Then he proceeded to savage Trump with lies like this one: “Donald Trump’s presidency was hell for Black America. … you peacefully protested George Floyd’s murder; Donald Trump called for the National Guard to go after you. What in the hell is the matter with this man?”
In October 2020, the Major Cities Chiefs Association’s Intelligence Commanders Group published its “REPORT ON THE 2020 PROTESTS AND CIVIL UNREST.” It tells us that, between May 25th and July 31st, 2020, 8,700 protests took place in most major cities. Of these, 574 protests (7%) involved acts of violence, some of which were severe.
The Left told us then and continue to tell us now that these were “mostly peaceful.” And if you go by the 7%, then “mostly” applies. But when you look at that 7%, the term becomes painfully absurd. In total,
97 police cars were burned,
2,037 police officers were injured, and
624 incidences of arson were committed.
The percentages of major city law enforcement agencies that experienced violent protests reported having officers attacked with:
Molotov cocktails = 78%
Rocks, bricks, bottles = 78%
Fireworks = 73%
Bats or poles = 59%
Firearms = 51%
The people involved in the violence were often not local. Sixty-one of the 68 agencies found violent protesters were from out-of-state, while 20 of the 68 found protesters who had been paid to participate.
They were also not entirely motivated by far left politics.
53 of 68 agencies identified violent protesters with far left ideologies, while
35 of the 68 agencies identified violent protesters with far right ideologies.
On September 16, 2020, Brad Palumbo wrote at the Foundation for Economic Education, “Dozens of people were killed or injured in the violent protests, while thousands of businesses and properties, many minority-owned, were looted, torched, or otherwise vandalized. Only now are we beginning to realize the full cost of the destruction.”
Just the insured property losses amounted to a record-breaking two billion dollars. But, Palumbo notes, this figure “vastly underestimates the true damage wrought.” He points out that 75% of US businesses are under-insured, while about 40% of small businesses have no insurance at all. Their true losses don’t show up in that $2B figure.
Nor do insurance payouts tell the tales of personal pain and suffering. At least fifteen people died; many more were injured. Insurance payouts also don’t speak to future costs, such as higher insurance rates, lower property values, higher prices, reduced tax revenue, and decreased economic opportunity, much of it affecting minority communities.
It sickens me that Democrat leaders promoted and cheered on the violence as it was happening and continue to lie about the damage it did, all in the name of smearing their arch-enemy, Donald J. Trump.
BLOWBACK: After his band mate Kyle Gass said “please don’t miss Trump next time” from the stage, Jack Black canceled the remainder of the band’s tour and Gass’ talent agent dropped him as a client.
Alison Scott, a teacher in Oklahoma, tweeted that she wished the shooter had had a better scope. Her superintendent tweeted that she no longer has a job and, if he has anything to say about it, will lose her teaching certificate as well.
The Mayor of Bernville, PA, reported said it was a shame the shooter missed and wished he had tried harder. A petition is going around to get him removed. He is bragging that there is no way for anyone to remove him from office.
Dallas Police Sergeant Arturo Martinez has been placed on leave for posting “aim better.”
A Home Depot employee posted, “Too bad they weren’t a better shooter.” She’s now out of a job.
An elementary school counselor who posted she was disappointed the shooter missed has resigned.
Someone posting as @szkofficial posted three vile tweets wishing death and destruction on all Trump supporters. The account has been removed.
A hairstylist in Denver is so sad the shooter missed that he is threatening to “try again.” The Secret Service is investigating.

UK: A British couple got sick of all the trash polluting their neighborhood, so they picked it up and put it out next to their trash bin for collection. Their city council fined them $650 apiece for something or other. The article says “failing to transfer household waste to an authorised authority”, but I don’t know what that means.
