The usual thing for the Fauxtus administration’s job reports was to report good numbers, then later when the jerknalists can ignore it, quietly downsize said numbers. This new one is way bigger than a downsizing! Read more at the links.

Bipolars stable on meds can’t serve, nor can folks with high blood pressure. Any medical condition that can cause an issue without intervention is automatic grounds for denial… and that truth should never have been questioned in the first place.” I’ve probably mentioned this before, but I never got past my first interview with an Army recruiter because I was getting allergy shots twice a month.

GRAMMY NOTES: Also learn. My 3d pregnancy was very high risk; I needed 7 amnios before we were done. My daughter became agitated earlier and earlier in the procedure until, by the last one, they could barely get the needle in and out safely because of her thrashing.

The Politics of an American Pope

The Daily Mail has published a story claiming the new pope is a registered Republican. This is incorrect. Illinoisans do not register by party. They may vote in one party’s primary per election, but can switch at any time.

Pope Leo XIV, who has lived in Peru and Rome for most of his career, has allegedly voted in some GOP primaries and presidential elections. Obviously, there is no record of whom he voted for when he did vote, but since he is staunchly pro-life, it is unlikely he voted for Harris last November. However, that doesn’t mean he’s a MAGA Trumper.

In January, J.D. Vance said, “There is a Christian concept that you love your family and then you love your neighbor, and then you love your community, and then you love your fellow citizens, and then after that, prioritize the rest of the world. A lot of the far left has completely inverted that.” The Daily Mail claims that then-Cardinal Prevost responded by writing an article entitled, “JD Vance is wrong: Jesus doesn’t ask us to rank our love for others.”

I googled that title and got a hit at National Catholic Reporter; the article was written by Kat Armas. Prevost merely posted the link, without comment, on his X account. In his statement, Vance was referencing a concept in Catholic theology known as “ordo amoris” (Latin for “order of love”) which is based on the words of St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas. In the words of St. Augustine, we are called to give “special regard” to those persons who, “by the accidents of time, or place, or circumstance, are brought into closer connection” with us.

Personally, I think it is odd that Pope Leo XIV appeared to criticize Vance with his tweet, given that he is an Augustinian priest and is certainly acquainted with this concept. I also doubt very much that he has not practiced ordo amoris in his own life. I mean … who hasn’t? Who couldn’t? If we were to reduce our most intimate personal interactions to only those that we grant to the billions of strangers living on the other side of the world, then we would have no personal interactions at all.

Jesus certainly practiced ordo amoris. He spent 30 years in intimate relationship with His mom, followed by less than 3 years in public ministry. But even during His public ministry, He treated His disciples differently than He did the people. Even amongst the disciples, He singled out some for special attention. E.g., only four of the twelve were at the Transfiguration.

The Left seems delighted to have found social media posts by Prevost that appear to be critical of the Trump administration. I noted a few reasons why they’re making way too much of it. One is that he rarely posts. There were no posts at all in 2024 and have only been five this year. Of these, two were about praying for Pope Francis’ health and three were links to published articles about Trump’s immigration policies.

Among other things, the American Magazine article entitled Pope Francis’ letter, JD Vance’s ‘ordo amoris’ and what the Gospel asks of all of us on immigration by Jesuit priest Sam Sawyer says, “Catholic teaching both allows and calls for ‘development of a policy that regulates orderly and legal migration.’ No one, except those who are misrepresenting the church’s advocacy and care for migrants, claims that Catholics are in favor of illegal immigration or open borders.”

It concludes with, “The Gospel does not offer a charter for how to legislate about immigration. It does offer a standard for how far we are to go to love our neighbor, and a refusal to accept the limits we might be comfortable with on who our neighbors are. The question we need to answer is whether we judge our politics according to the Gospel or the other way around.”

The Catholic Standard article, entitled This Ordeal is the Passion by Bishop Evelio Menjivar, is much more biased, calling the early sweep of criminal illegals “shock and awe” campaign of “aggressive threats” and “questionable legality.” One wonders where God’s demand for honesty lies in this diatribe. One could say much the same about the previous administration’s open border and sanctuary welfare benefits. However, even that article comes around to pleading for putting the Gospel first, saying “we cannot let the dark side of anti-immigrant animus take hold.”

Let us hope and pray that the new pope’s focus will be more on the Gospel and less on propping up progressive political causes. And maybe we can also be just a little like these kids, even if our first ever American pope is from Chicago! https://x.com/Monocarp_/status/1920536512782889126 [:43]

Today is my birthday!

DAILY PRAYER: Dear Lord, Please give us the graces we need to make the “don’t care” part really true. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.

BIG STICK: [19:42] – CLICK https://x.com/ABC/status/1919792210318340216 [1: 20] to hear Trump announce that the Houthis “don’t want to fight any more.” “We will stop the bombings. They have capitulated, but more importantly, we will take their word. They say they will not be blowing up ships any more.”

According to Julien Miquel (YouTube), the correct English pronunciation for “Houthis” is HOO – theez (hard “th” as in bath).

BORDER: CLICK https://www.youtube.com/shorts/JJQg92hXeqE to hear a wonderful message from an immigrant from Brazil.

CATHOLIC: The conclave opens today. Please continue to pray with us that God’s perfect will be made manifest in their choice of our next pope.

DOGE: A National Science Foundation grant for more than $800,000 has been canceled. The money was being used to train college science and math education majors how to promote “social justice” and “cultural responsiveness” in their classrooms.

Another $8.4 million has been saved by canceling three DEI training programs.

A further $198 million was saved by terminating 148 wasteful contracts, including one at HHS for “potency monitoring of confiscated marijuana samples.”

HORSE HISTORY: Every horse that ran in the Kentucky Derby is a direct descendant of Secretariat, who won the 1973 Belmont Stakes by an incredible 31 lengths.

HYPOCRITES: CLICK https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1363860088066886 [:54] to hear Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, and Joe Biden support work requirements for welfare recipients.

INDIA vs. PAKISTAN: In April, 26 male tourists were killed in a terrorist attack in the Indian-controlled portion of Kashmir. Early today, India responded with airstrikes against terrorists in Pakistan-controlled territory.

MEDIA: CLICK https://www.youtube.com/shorts/U5wMAYX0PEs to hear yet another montage of sound-alike legacy news reports.

REAL ID: Starting today, you must have a REAL ID or a compliant document before boarding a domestic flight. Usually, a REAL ID takes the form of a driver’s license or a non-driver photo ID card issued by a state’s Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or equivalent. States may issue such documents even if they are not REAL IDs. If your document is also a REAL ID, this is indicated by the presence of a black or gold star in the top corner of the plastic card.

At present, every state, the District of Columbia, and federal territory issues driver’s licenses and non-driver ID cards that are REAL IDs. Some also issue non-REAL ID cards to citizens and residents. These non-REAL ID cards are often cheaper to obtain and do not require as many supporting documents, making them attractive to individuals who merely want a license or ID for everyday purposes. They are also regularly issued to illegal immigrants by some states.

Usually, these non-REAL ID documents will have a notation that reads “Not Valid for Federal Purposes” or an equivalent and will not bear the required black or gold star.

REPARATIONS: CLICK https://www.youtube.com/shorts/1gg_G9Gd0Pw to hear a black supremacist tell us why he “deserves” a million dollars. The way I understand it, President Lincoln gave his ancestor who was actually a slave 40 acres and a mule. Why does anyone owe this joker, who was never a slave, anything?!

SCOTUS: The U.S. Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that the Trump administration can move forward with a ban on transgender military service members for now, lifting a lower court injunction against the policy after a judge ruled it was an “unsupported, dramatic and facially unfair exclusionary policy.”

The court did not explain its decision other than to say the order would expire if the justices ultimately take up the case on the merits and issue a ruling striking it down. Litigation continues in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

TRANS: CLICK https://x.com/Riley_Gaines_/status/1919930354359472325 [:59] and https://x.com/MrAndyNgo/status/1919993052619321836 [2:32] and https://x.com/MrAndyNgo/status/1919584968570720291 [:40] to see clips from protests outside a Riley Gaines speaking engagement at University of Washington.

DAILY PRAYER: Dear Lord, Keep us mindful in a special way today that You are always in charge. And thank you that, while we may not always appear to win, we definitely will win in the end! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

BORDER: Difference being … our right to own and bear weapons and the federal government’s obligation to protect our border are both in the Constitution. So they’re the ones fomenting insurrection.

CLIMATE HOAX: Climate activists said global warming would melt the ice caps and flood us all out of our homes. Twelve years ago, they told us the Arctic Ocean would be ice-free within the four years. A new study shows that, between 2021 and 2023, the Antarctic Ice Sheet (AIS) gained mass at a rate of 108 gigatons per year. Oops.

COVID: “The real name for ‘gain of function’ is ‘death maximization.'” ~ Elon Musk

“In 2014, after 3 of Fauci’s bugs escaped, 300 scientists asked Obama to shut him down. Obama declared a moratorium—but Fauci moved the experiments offshore, mainly to the Wuhan lab. Now our own government—CIA, FBI, State, DOE—all say those experiments likely sparked the COVID pandemic. And it all started as bioweapons research in 1947. President Trump just moved to shut it down—for good.” ~HHS Sec. Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

GROUPTHINK: CLICK https://www.youtube.com/shorts/itoUnYYXXEU to hear a simple explanation for why some Democrats behave like they are members of a cult.

MEDIA: Notice how they’re not talking about eggs any more? If they actually cared about Americans, they’d be celebrating that low-income people can afford them again. But they don’t. They only care about scoring political points for Democrats.

PSA: [2:34] – Very useful trick.

TARIFFS: “American manufacturers are seeing a surge in demand as President Donald Trump’s tariffs force companies to reconsider doing business in China.” “Workers throughout China are flooding the streets in revolt as U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariffs slam the fragile Chinese export economy.” Read more at the links.

TDS: The rant above is exactly why he does this stuff. While he’s busy fixing America, loony lefties are wasting time TDSing about pranks. And, We the People are not clapping along; we’re laughing along. Except about the pope pics. I found them distasteful. But since I’m not a lunatic, I just scrolled and got on with my day.

ALCATRAZ: The former federal prison was known as impossible to escape because of the strong currents and cold waters surround its island. It once housed such infamous criminals as the gangster Al Capone.

BORDER: In April 2024, Homeland Security released a report saying 11 million illegal aliens were estimated to be living in the U.S. as of January 2022. We’ve spent untold billion$ giving them free food, shelter, education, transportation, and health care. Paying them a pittance to go home is far cheaper than continuing the handouts while paying ICE to track them down individually (est @ $17,000/per).

HARVARD PROFS: The Trump administration froze $2.2 billion dollars in federal grants for Harvard which has refused to eliminate DEI and stop supporting antisemitism. More than 80 Harvard faculty members have so far pledged to donate more than $2 million to counter what Government professor Steven Levitsky would be “a death blow to academic freedom.” A 2023 survey found that more than 77% of Harvard’s profs identify as liberal.

HEALTH: Mattress safety is more crucial for babies and young children than for teens or adults, because they spend far more time sleeping.

During those hours, they are more likely to inhale, absorb and/or ingest mattress materials because their breathing rates and skin surfaces relative to body weights are much higher, their skin is more permeable, and they are more likely to put their hands in their mouths. If those materials are harmful, they are far more likely to be damaged, because their blood-brain barriers and detoxification systems are not fully developed.

Recent studies of mattresses found hormone disruptors that interfere with growth, mood, reproduction, and other vital bodily functions. These toxins have been linked to impaired memory, learning disorders, behavioral issues, and lower IQ scores. Some are also linked to childhood cancer and asthma.

LAPTOP FARMS: The National Security Division and the FBI’s Cyber and Counterintelligence Divisions, have an entire division allocated to rooting out and dismantling laptop farms. – Over the last three years, Minh Phuong Ngoc Vong, a U.S. citizen, pulled down $970,000, supposedly by working at a nail salon in Bowie, Maryland. What he was really doing (besides maybe trimming cuticles) was obtaining and then subcontracting government jobs to IT guys in China. Vong himself has no degree and no experience in IT. Literally, the only thing he did was plug a company-provided laptop in at home and install remote access programs on it, so that it looked like it was being operated in the U.S. Basically, he gave the ChiComms access to U.S. government secrets. He pled guilty to several counts of international wire fraud and faces up to 20 years in prison.

MEDICAL TORTURE: Under Tony Fauci, the NIH approved forcing We the Taxpayers to fund allegedly necessary drug tests on animals. They prefer beagles, because they are such sweet-natured animals; apparently, said puppies were mass-bred at puppy mills for the purpose of being tortured and euthanized. They also had their vocal cords cut so experimenters wouldn’t have to listen to them cry out in pain.

One experiment involved pumping pneumonia-causing bacteria into more than 2,000 beagles’ lungs, bleeding them out and forcing them into septic shock. Another had them locking puppies’ heads into cages filled with hungry sand flies.

Under NIH’s new director, Jay Bhattacharya, torturing puppies is a thing of the past. Bhattacharya said PETA actually sent him flowers! BTW, during Trump’s first term in 2019, his administration closed the government’s largest cat lab.

TRUMP: I am relieved to hear he has nixed the idea of a third term. “I’m looking to have four great years, and turn it over to somebody, ideally a great Republican … to carry it forward,” he said. He named Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio as the best contenders to replace him in 2028.

DAILY PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to trust that, even where You allow us to make sinful choices, You are simultaneously working all things “for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28) In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.

BORDER: Trump has created a second military zone along our southern border, a 63-mile stretch that runs east from the Texas-New Mexico state line in El Paso they’re calling the “Texas National Defense Area.”

ECONOMICS: It’s an odd take, them bitching that he is enriching his friends when one of his closest buddies, Elon Musk, is not only working at DOGE for free, but also losing $$ big time as the Left’s attacks on Tesla damage sales and stock prices.

EDUCATION: In other news, Trump has signed an executive order ending federal funding of the allegedly educational, but mostly left-biased NPR and PBS.

HARRIS: On Thursday, nominations were announced for the 46th News & Documentary Emmy Awards. Among them was an “Outstanding Editing” nod to the interview “60 Minutes” did with Kamala Harris during the campaign.

In case you’ve forgotten, this was the interview during which CBS chose to edit out a terrible “word salad” answer Harris had given and substitute a more coherent one she had given to a different question. This would also be the interview that has Trump suing CBS News and the one that inspired the show’s executive producer to quit.

Speaking of Kamala speaking … I don’t want to listen to her, but if you do, there are clips of her recent speech @ https://notthebee.com/article/kamala-harris-is-still-most-definitely-kamala-harris.

MEDIA: The Left have always hated the military and Fox News, so Pete has a natural advantage over two guys they used to lurve.

SLIPPERY SLOPE: Satan hates marriage and family, so the assault continues. A recent court ruling in Quebec has granted multi-parental families in the province the same legal rights as any other unit.

SMH: The Atlantic just published this article about how Hitler liked tariffs too.

WHITE HOUSE WIRE: The media refuses to cover them honestly, so they’re doing it themselves.

GRAMMY NOTES: Plus there’s the whole problem with “the world” being temporal, so any comfort you might get by selling your soul will end up earning you an eternity of torment.

BORDER: Too bad they didn’t give a toot about the due process rights of J-6 American citizens incarcerated in their own back yard.

EDUCATION: Today, 42.7 million borrowers owe more than $1.6 trillion in taxpayer-funded college loans. Only 38% are up-to-date with their repayments. Biden tried to buy votes by refusing to collect on those loans, despite Congress demanding he do so. That ends on May 5, 2025. “American taxpayers will no longer be forced to serve as collateral for irresponsible student loan policies.” ~ Education Secretary Linda McMahon

VALUES: The Dems’ X account posted that we should be outraged because, while real Americans were being forced to paint potatoes for Easter, the White House was using $30,000 worth of eggs for its annual Easter roll.

Meanwhile, in the comments –

  1. The eggs for the White House Easter Egg Roll in 2025 were donated by the American Egg Board, on behalf of America’s egg farmers, continuing a nearly 50-year tradition of supplying approximately 30,000 eggs for the event. The event used small and medium-sized eggs which are not typically sold in retail to avoid straining the commercial egg supply.
  2. They cited the New York Times as a source [included spit take GIF].
  3. I’ll take, “Things that never happened” for 600, Alex.
  4. Of all the things that didn’t happen, that didn’t happen the most.

  6. FYI: Dem approval rate is at 21%.
  7. No one, not one single human being on this planet, was dyeing potatoes for Easter.
  8. You can get 5 dozen eggs at @SamsClub for $15 which is hugely less expensive than sending a senator to El Salvador for tacos and a margarita.
  9. When Biden left office I was paying $5.89 a dozen.

DAILY PRAYER: Dear Lord, Teach us new ways to thank You! Amen.

2A: [13:58] – More than 10 million Americans who were convicted of non-violent felonies have zero right to own a fire arm. The Trump administration is moving to change that.

AUTISM: A new report from the CDC says autism rates among children in America have continued to rise at an alarming rate. They are currently at 1 in 31, significantly up from two years ago and nearly five times higher than when the CDC first started running autism surveys in children born in 1992. It’s worse in boys, who are at 1 in 20.

Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says that autism is a preventable disease caused by environmental factors, with possibilities including mold, air, medicines, and the increase in the average age of parents. He says nobody has really looked at these factors, but they will be launching studies soon.

BIG PHARMA: In a bid to limit industry influence, the FDA is removing pharmaceutical company representatives from advisory committees. Noting that the FDA has “a history of being influenced unduly by corporate interests,” Dr. Marty Makary, the FDA’s new commissioner, said. “Industry employees are welcome to attend FDA advisory committee meetings, along with the rest of the American public, but having industry employees serve as official members of FDA advisory committee members represents a cozy relationship that is concerning to many Americans.” No kidding! And well done!

BORDER: As of April 14, more than 1,000 international students at over 170 colleges and universities have had their student visas revoked by the State Department.

BORDER: The Tennessee Star has revealed that Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the suspected M-13 gang member the Democrats want returned to the U.S., was stopped driving without a license in 2022. Despite the fact that the Tennessee Highway Patrol suspected him of trafficking the seven people inside the vehicle and that the man was on a terrorist watch list, Biden’s FBI ordered them to release him.

The one thing that is puzzling me about the Abrego Garcia case is conflicting report about his status in the country. The Alien Enemies Act requires “aliens to be duly apprehended and convened before such court, judge or justice; and after a full examination and hearing on such complaint and sufficient cause therefor appearing” etc. etc. Lots of the news reports say he was never given his day in court; the White House says he was.

GOOD DOG: Two-year old Boden Allen wandered out into the Arizona wilderness about 100 miles south of the Grand Canyon. A massive manhunt ensued with 40 rescuers, including Department of Public Safety rangers and a DPS helicopter. The teams spotted at least two mountain lions in the area. Thanks to a ranch dog named Buford, Boden was found, safe and in good health. The little boy had walked seven miles from his home and spent the night under a tree. LIVE: Comment by Viana Santoni-Oliver- I remember being in a grocery store after the Floyd riots when I witnessed 2 Black men, being gentlemen, telling a White woman to proceed ahead of them. She said no and then said “Black lives matter.” The second Black man loudly said, “All lives matter.” She was taken aback, to say the least.

In other news, President Donald Trump will not be attending the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on April 26.

BORDER: Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia (photo) has been in the news a lot lately. Here is a summary of the situation – In 2011, Abrego Garcia entered the U.S. illegally, allegedly to escape gang threats in his home country of El Salvador. In 2019, an immigration judge granted him “withholding of removal” status, based on the alleged gang threat. This status allowed him to live and work legally in the United States. He married a U.S. citizen and has had children with her.

On March 15, 2025, he was deported to El Salvador under the 18th-century Alien Enemies Act as an MS-13 gang member, which is a U.S.-designated terrorist organization. He was subsequently imprisoned without trial in the Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT), a maximum-security prison in El Salvador, despite never having been charged with or convicted of a crime in either country.

Despite the Democrat media machine ginning up massive support for this man, the Trump administration has held firmly to its claim that he is a high level leader in MS-13 who has facilitated human trafficking. In addition, his wife took out a restraining order following a beating by her husband; she now says they are working things out and she wants him back.

On April 10, 2025, the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously ruled that Abrego Garcia’s removal to El Salvador was illegal and ordered the Trump administration to “facilitate” his return. The administration said they would meet this obligation by providing a plane and admitting him into the U.S. if El Salvador chooses to release him. But President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador says he will not “smuggle a terrorist into the United States.”

On April 16, Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen (D) went to El Salvador to see Abrego Garcia. Van Hollen, who voted against The Laken Riley Act, was told he didn’t give the prison enough notice to see the prisoner.

Also on April 16, the Trump administration released their evidence that Abrego Garcia is a member of MS-13 in good standing.

HAIKU APPRECIATION DAY: Yes, there really is such a thing. And, ta da! It’s today! Glass ballerina is my favorite of the haikus I have composed. I also googled Facebook and found some haiku groups. This posting by Linda Rivas Bole caught my attention –

MILITARY: In late March, the Pentagon began investigating leaks of national security information that was only available to a handful of high level personnel. On Tuesday, Dan Caldwell and Darin Selnick were escorted out of the Pentagon by security.

UK: The British Supreme Court just ruled on a case about whether a trans-identifying man with a “gender recognition certificate” that legally recognizes him as female is protected from discrimination as a woman under the 2010 Equality Act. The court said no; the legal definition of “woman” is based on biology and does not include trans-identifying men who say they are women. In response to the ruling, the British government said it supports “single-sex spaces.”
