   Rasmussen Poll just out – 45% of GOP primary voters say it would be bad for “party” if Palin enters the race.

   Well, given what a bunch of self-serving, big-spending, screwed-up-their-chance-to-lead, got-us-Obama-&co, inside-the-beltway, voters-are-stupid, the Tea Party is eeeeevil, elitist jerkwads are running the GOP … I’m thinking that’s a good thing.

   Harumph. (Grumpy Chrissy alert! I had a bad night. grrrrrrrrr)

       Yeah, that and they just buy that whole “Democrats are good. Republicans are evil.” thing.

       It’s very real and not something you may even be aware of. I left the Dems when they went pro-abort, but I stuck with Right to Life until it folded and I got a letter from them suggesting I register Republican. I was shocked to realize that the IDEA of registering Republican made me have that same icky feeling I get about cleaning vomity toilets and hair-clogged drains.

       Seriously. I had no idea this powerful prejudice was lurking in my psyche. I had to kind of hold my nose to check that R after my name, but once I began really studying up, I slowly but surely moved from “Can’t we all get along?” (mostly cuz I hate confrontation) to “Far Right Wing Conservative Tea Party Mama Grizzly What Can I Do For the Cause Today!!”

       I think that 44% is a lost cause, so why bother worrying about them? I’m focusing on educating the 8%. They’re the folks we need to win and they’re the ones I understand cuz I used to be them.

         Former Dem here too, until the Obama people beat me up in 2008. “Either you’re with us or the hell with you” as I recall. So I left. It was the day I stopped being angry, and that was a good thing 😀

         My state has open elections so we don’t have to register by party. That comes in handy in the primaries too if you like another party guy better. On the downside, Dems in VA will flock to the GOP primaries and vote for the weakest Obama opponent. Let’s just hope they think it’s Sarah or Herman 😀

             “I stopped being angry” got stuck in my head. What a wonderful thing! It made me realize that the day I started embracing true Conservativism is the day I stopped being afraid. (Well, I started stopping … you get the idea.)

     Socialism: You have two cows. The government takes one of them and gives it to your neighbor.

     Capitalism: You have two cows. You sell one and buy a bull.

     I was thinking of some variations on these, like:

     Democrats take one of them and gives it to your neighbor, who kills it, sells the meat to buy drugs and bling, then goes back to the Democrats wanting your other cow.

     Tea Party: You share your cow’s milk with unemployed workers while breeding your one cow into a herd big enough that you can afford to hire some unemployed workers to build bigger barns and help you care for your herd. One of them is a real go-getter who wants to be like you, so you teach him the business.
