    Just pondering one of the numerous Leftist conundrums.

    In that debate clip I posted, the college student with the heart condition said he liked ObamaCare because it is personally good for him. He doesn’t give a crap that it will have an overall devastating effect on health care or the economy in general. All he sees is his own personal benefit.

    Yet I don’t hear anyone calling him shallow or selfish or greedy, all of which names ARE hurled at those who oppose ObamaCare. Somehow, if it’s going to make MY life a whole lot worse, I should just ignore that and support it because of some OTHER person it’s going to allegedly help.

    Makes NO sense to me … now. Yet I remember thinking this way in the past and feeling really conflicted about it. Then I realized, oh wait, if everyone has one vote and each of us votes the way that will be personally best, then the majority decision will ipso facto be the solution that is best for most.

    So guess what, Leftist Guilt Mongers. I’m going to use my vote selfishly. I’m going to think long and hard about what is best for ME and vote for that. If my side loses, fine. I want the majority to have what’s best and I realize I’m not always in the majority. But I also realize that we cannot determine what that majority-best is if we don’t each vote selfishly (and only once).

    Like
