ABORTION: The Texas legislature is working on passing seven pro-life bills and twenty-three Texas cities have declared themselves “abortion sanctuary cities.”

CATHOLIC: U.S. Cardinal Raymond Burke is one of the world’s foremost canon lawyers; he was formerly the prefect of the Church’s highest court.

During an interview this week, Thomas McKenna of Catholic Action for Faith and Family, referred to President Biden’s continuing to claim he is a devout Catholic, while signing executive orders that directly promote abortion and asked, “What can be done now? What is the next step?”

Cardinal Burke said, “Such a person who claims to be a Catholic and yet promotes in such an open, obdurate, and aggressive way a crime like procured abortion is in the state, at least, of apostasy. In other words, to do this is to draw away from Christ and to draw away from the Catholic faith. And so the second action, which needs to be considered, is a canonical penalty, a sanction, for the crime of apostasy, which would be excommunication.”

COVID-19: On March 29, FAUXTUS told states and cities to institute mask mandates.

Texas Governor Abbot (R) removed all restrictions, including the statewide mask mandate, two weeks before. The number of positive COVID-19 tests have continued to decline.

Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy (R) told FAUXTUS to keep his mask mandate. “We’ll keep doing it the Alaska way; trust the people and let them live their lives.”

CRITICAL RACE THEORY: [1:46] – Loudoun County public schools are teaching Critical Race Theory. Here is an example. The student sees two people hanging out with each other; the teacher pushes him to see racial differences and articulate some underlying racial tension. When the student refuses to do so, the teacher gets frustrated. “I don’t see why you do this.” The student has the perfect response. “At the end of the day, wouldn’t that just be feeding into the problem of looking at race instead of acknowledging them as two normal people?“

HATE IS THE NEW VIRTUE: The FAUXTUS administration has included pro-lifers on a list of “domestic violent extremists” (DVEs) in a new report from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

The report allowed as how “mere advocacy of political or social positions, political activism” and “use of strong rhetoric may not constitute violent extremism, and may be constitutionally protected.” Yeah, that’ll work … unless the Left manages to go further with its attempts to define “speech we disagree with” as violence.

The California state legislature is working to pass the California Law Enforcement Accountability Reform Act (Assembly Bill 655), which allegedly aims to require law enforcement agencies to screen officers and potential hires for “hate.”

But, in the spirit of the tweet above and FAUXTUS’ definition of domestic violence, the bill defined “hate speech” in a way that would have banned many religious people, pro-lifers and conservatives from the force. Fortunately, alert Californians pushed back hard and got the bill amended.

MAJOR BIDEN: On Monday, FAUXTUS’ German Shepherd bit a National Park Service employee while being walked on the South Lawn. On March 8, he bit a Secret Service employee.

The law in Washington, D.C., defines a “potentially dangerous dog” as a dog that “without provocation, chases or menaces a person or domestic animal in an aggressive manner, causing an injury to a person or domestic animal that is less severe than a serious injury.”

Dangerous dogs can be put down by the city under certain circumstances … one of which is that the dog belongs to the president.

In other news, the Associated Press reported that one of the two First Pooches did a doody in a hallway of the White House, but neglected to identify if the culprit was Major or Champ. My favorite tweet comment: “Our media have finally found their sweet spot.”

MARK OF THE BEAST: It’s becoming more and more plausible.

SATAN SHOE: Matt Walsh reviews the music video behind the shoe. In short, “it sucks.” I don’t recommend you watch the clips of the video within the review. Just one “fork in the eye” image was of the male singer giving Satan a lap dance. This “artist” has carefully recruited a fan following of elementary aged children. IOW, “he’s a disgusting, dirt bag predator.” [7:36]

Nike is suing the makers of Lil Nas X “Satan Shoes” for copyright infringement. And well they should. The company got a LOT of negative blowback over their alleged participation in making the Satan Shoe.

SUEZ CANAL: The 1,300-foot Ever Given was dislodged on Monday and shipping has resumed. About 15 percent of world shipping traffic transits the Suez Canal.

A former Boatswain’s Mate commented on the cartoon, “Ain’t no pickup truck moving no ship. Do you know how many thousands of tons that is? The tugs that pull them into port have engines in them that are bigger than that pickup truck and they need three or four of them to pull a ship into port. You’d try to pull it with the four wheel drive truck and the lines would stretch, pop, and snap and the lines would snap back and tear through the truck. I have seen lines snap before, it put a dent in the side of the ship as big as your body in close to 12″ of steel. Even chain would have to be in links as big as the truck. Each one of the anchors are made up of more steel than is in six pickup trucks and you need two of them to hold a ship in place. Whatever you see of a ship above water, there is almost twice as much ship underwater.”

It was way funnier before I knew all that. Especially the snapping chains part! Yoiks! However, on further consideration, I think that, if we assume that drawing is meant to be to scale, those trucks should be plenty big enough to free that 1,400 foot stuck ship! LOL

TRANS: If Gov. Noem had signed it, HB 1217 would have protected females in high school and college from having to compete against biological males claiming to self-identify as females.

Noem got a lot of blowback when she sent the bill back to the legislature, asking for various “style and form” changes. Those changes were rejected by the legislature for making the bill harder to enforce at the high school level and exempting the collegiate level entirely. It has been speculated that Noem did this following pressure from the NCAA.

In response to the down vote, Noem sent a letter to House leaders confirming that the bill is effectively vetoed, while claiming that the legislature’s refusal to make her recommended changes are what vetoed it, rather than her rejection of the bill.

Despite the veto, HB 1217’s fate is not yet sealed. APP’s director of policy and government affairs Jon Schweppe reports that the state legislature is currently weighing its options, and may be able to override Noem’s veto. Two-thirds of each chamber must vote yes to override a veto in South Dakota; the bill originally passed by more than enough votes in the House but would need an additional four votes in the Senate.

VACCINE PASSPORTS: Florida Gov. de Santis expressed his disapproval of the idea saying, “It’s completely unacceptable for either the government or the private sector to impose upon you the requirement that you show proof of vaccine to just simply be able to participate in normal society.” He promised to take executive action against it.

According to Genesius Times (satire), “You can identify as having a penis or vagina whether you have one or not. This is scientifically proven beyond a reasonable doubt. Stop being a bigot, bigot!

“But you CANNOT, I repeat CANNOT identify as having been vaccinated if someone didn’t stick the Fauchi ouchie in your arm!”

VOTER ID: Not content with trashing Georgia’s new voting law as racist, the hosts of CBS This Morning are now encouraging business leaders to boycott the state.
