2024: I have been very disappointed with pro-lifers who are threatening to not vote because Trump isn’t opposed to IVF. The RCC teaches we should always vote and that, where none of the candidates are fully in union with Catholic teaching, we should choose the one who is the closest. Remember: He is the founder of Priests for Life who was defrocked for refusing to abandon the ministry God gave him. You’d be hard pressed to find any pro-lifer who has given more to the cause and he is saying, “Vote for Trump!

BORDER: Lowell, Indiana (pop 11,000) is not the kind of place you’d expect would have problems with violent illegals. I guess there are so damn many of them these days that they have had to spread out. On Saturday, one of them randomly stabbed a 14-year-old girl who was watching her brother’s baseball game.

MEDIA: “It’s no surprise, then, that liberals charge Trump with being a menace to the Constitution. But his presidency and the prospect of his re-election have also generated another, very different, argument: that Trump owes his political ascent to the Constitution, making him a beneficiary of a document that is essentially antidemocratic and, in this day and age, increasingly dysfunctional.

If I recall my American history lessons correctly, the Founders established a Constitutional Republic, not a Democracy, because they had learned from the Greeks that pure democracy – i.e., rule by simple majorities – led to rule by mobs.

So typical of the former Sergeant Major who, after getting paid to play war games for 24 years, abandoned his troops the minute he heard they would going to go fight in an actual war. Kommie Kammie thinks he should be one heartbeat away from the Commander-in-Chief’s chair? I. Don’t. Think. So.

GRAMMY NOTES: My dd overheard me say a particular piece of art was one of the best things I’d ever made. She gasped and said, “I thought I was!” I told her, “I didn’t make you. God did.” She she nodded and said, “Oh, right.

  1. …where none of the candidates are fully in union with Catholic teaching, we should choose the one who is the closest.

Years ago, on the local talk radio channel, there was a host whose name, sorry to say, I don’t recall. Black fellow. He had a caller, another Black fellow, who opined that even if a candidate were prejudiced against Blacks, if he were the stronger candidate on national defense, that’s the one he’d vote for. Appreciated his reasoning.

Waiting for the perfect candidate doesn’t work. I have had to grit my teeth and vote, too often, but I do, for the lesser of two weevils.
