Yesterday, I read Luke 17:22-35 and couldn’t help but think, “Wow, that sounds like Jesus told us the Rapture will be Pre-Trib.”
Various Catholic prophecies describe a pre-Tribulation event known as The Warning and/or The Illumination of Conscience.
The prophets say the sky around the world will become black and that Jesus on a cross will be visible in the sky from everywhere in the world. They also say that, at this time, everyone (above the age of reason) will see his or her soul as God sees it and will also experience for a few minutes where they would go if they were to die in that moment.
In Luke 17:22-25, Jesus seems to speak to this event. “[Jesus] said to his disciples, ‘The time is coming when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it. People will tell you, ‘There he is!’ or ‘Here he is!’ Do not go running off after them. For the Son of Man in his day will be like the lightning, which flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other.”
In many of Mary’s messages to us, she has strongly urged us to pray, fast, and repent so we will be ready when the day comes. I can’t help but wonder if the Rapture might occur in conjunction with the Warning (aka, Illumination of Conscience). Like, maybe those of us who have heeded the call to personal holiness and are ready on that day will be taken up to Heaven and spared the trials of the Great Tribulation.
It’s a nice thought, right?! But wishes aren’t horses, as they say. However, in the verses right after Jesus uses the phrase “lights up the sky from one end to the other” to describe his return, He speaks of the Rapture.
“Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.
“It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.
“It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed. On that day no one who is on the housetop, with possessions inside, should go down to get them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything. Remember Lot’s wife! Whoever tries to keep their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life will preserve it. I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left.”
CHINA: China is determined to “vigorously promote excellent Chinese traditional culture, revolutionary culture and advanced socialist culture.”
Starting on Friday, minors will be limited to three hours of online gaming per week, and the three hours can only be played on weekends, during specified time slots. In addition, “vulgar internet celebrities”, particularly girly-men, will not be promoted, because Chinese Communist Men are supposed to be traditionally masculine.
Not holding my breath waiting on the ludicrous left to care.
DON LEMON: On Tuesday, CNN anchor Don Lemon opened his show with a tirade against the unvaccinated, who in his opinion shouldn’t be treated by hospitals since they aren’t “doing things right.” Remaining unvaccinated is statistically irrelevant in the spread of COVID-19.
In 2019, Lemon expressed his opposition to “medical discrimination” against those who contracted HIV through homosexual acts. The CDC lists homosexual “intercourse” as one of the largest risk factors for contracting the virus which is exponentially more lethal than COVID-19.
FAUXTUS: David Catron writes at The American Spectator about how the media is trying to whitewash FAUXTUS’ Afghan mess. It’s exactly what I expected, but the whole Afghanistan thing is soul crushing, so I can’t go there and haven’t read it.
FLORIDA: The Florida Department of Health has issued a notice indicating it will start issuing $5,000 fines to businesses, schools, and government agencies that require Floridians to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
Health care providers are exempt from the fine, which also does not apply to vaccine requirements businesses or other entities impose on their own employees.
HURRICANE IDA: On Sunday, August 29, Category 4 storm Ida made landfall, leaving more than a million people in the New Orleans metropolitan area without power. Hundreds of thousands also lack water and fuel.
On August 30, a church near New Orleans published the top photo of their unscathed statue of Mary. The post inspired others to post photos of other Mary statues the storm didn’t touch.
LEFT vs. RIGHT: Right-wingers are EXACTLY like left-wingers. For example, after George Floyd offed himself with his crappy lifestyle, his grieving admirers rioted, destroyed millions of dollars in property and violently ended dozens of lives. After 13 Marines were blown up by the Taliban, their grieving admirers wept, flew their flags, and wept some more. See, exactly the same!
MEDIA: Twice this week, MSNBC has claimed anti-abortion Christians are just like the Taliban. Host Joy Reid argued Christians want to drive women out of the workforce and out of politics, so they can stay home and make babies.
I’m wondering if anyone has told these idiots that the Taliban not only imprisons women in their homes, forbids them to be educated after the age of eight, allows them to read nothing but the Qu’ran, but also is violently opposed to abortion, birth control, and homosexuality. They also kill people for trying to quit their religion.

PROJECT VERITAS: Early this week, Project Veritas posted video of a Sacramento, California, public high school teacher bragging that he and three of his colleagues actively work to indoctrinate their students with Marxist ideology.
“I have 180 days to turn them [students] into revolutionaries…Scare the f*ck out of them,” he says on the undercover video. “I’m probably as far left as you can go.” The photos above are from his classroom.
Surprisingly, reaction was swift. Unlike so many other cases where leftist school boards have ignored parents and teachers, the Natomas school board immediately placed the teacher on unpaid leave, stripped all the fascist crap off the classroom walls, and is taking the necessary steps to fire him.
RACISM: A video posted by an anti-Critical Race Theory group shows Professor of Psychology at Duquesne University Derek Hook, defending the idea that white people should commit suicide as an ethical act.
SOROS: George Soros has been very active in California state politics, as Matt Polumbo details in his book. So far, Soros has donated $1 million to support Gov. Newsom in the recall election.
TEXAS: Hillary Clinton blasted the Supreme Court for its refusal to block a Texas ban on abortion after six weeks of pregnancy. According to her, ”Yes: They gutted Roe v. Wade without hearing arguments, in a one-paragraph, unsigned 5-4 opinion issued in the middle of the night.”
I think she’s forgetting the part where SCOTUS gutted abortion laws in almost all 50 states with its 5-4 approval of unrestricted abortion. National Review wrote, ”If Clinton had read the Court’s opinion, it should have been immediately clear that its decision did not turn on the constitutional matter of whether the right to an abortion can be found in the Constitution, but on a much more mundane procedural question.”
TRANS: Remember the brouhaha back in June after a biological female raised a ruckus over a biological male flapping his nudie man parts in the Ladies Only section of a health spa in Los Angeles? Filmed by a bystander, her rant went viral, sparking protests and counter-protests.
It turns out that the owner of the offending man parts is a tier-one registered sex offender with nearly a dozen felony convictions, including two for indecent exposure. This bottom feeder claims he’s the victim of transphobic prejudice. Police say he has used the trans gag before to flash and gawp at nekkid ladies.
COVID-19: Candace Owens was refused an appointment for a COVID-19 test because the owner doesn’t like what she’s said about the pandemic. Also public health and other stuff.
PHONE CALLS: Remember when Trump chatted with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the call got leaked and the Democrats’ heads exploded over Trump asking Zelensky to investigate Hunter Biden? Yeah. Me too.
But my oh my … how differently the Dems are treating the leaked transcript and audio of a recent call between President Biden and then Afghan President Ghani during which Biden asked Ghani to lie his a** off. At Wednesday’s White House briefing, Biden press secretary Jen Psaki said she was “not going to get into… leaked call transcripts.”
SLAVERY: [5:40] – It’s been around since forever. And it’s not only not a white phenomenon, it was whites who had the novel idea to put an end to it.
TALIBAN: The Taliban are weeping into their sheer yakh because those meanie Americans went and broke all the helicopters and airplanes they left behind.
When an Al Jazeera reporter asked, “Why do you think that the Americans would have left everything operational for you?“, they said because the equipment we paid for should have come to them as a national asset.

TEXAS: The state’s new heartbeat ban has kicked in and pro-aborts are really pissed that babies might get born alive and, you know, grow into people, which I guess in Leftie Land is a bad thing.
Stella Parton tweeted her outrage over Texans exercising their right to protect the unborn with this gem: “Don’t you find it odd that women in America are being treated worse than women in Afghanistan? We wasted 2trillion dollars plus to go into Afghanistan to liberate their women and children? Something ain’t right here folks. Are you catching on yet?”
Reality Checks: “Women in Afghanistan can no longer leave their house. If they do leave their house, they have to be fully covered with only their eyes showing and only with a male chaperone. They cannot go to school. If they are raped, the woman is stoned to death. Get some flipping perspective.”

Daily Mail UK news reports: “A woman was set on fire by Taliban fighters who didn’t like the food they forced her to cook. Young girls are being forced to marry fighters while others are being packed alive into coffins and shipped abroad so they can be used as sex slaves.”
GRAMMY NOTES: I finally cleared out my IN box and am picking away at all the visit photos. I love these two! On their last morning, while Mama Buzz packed the truck, the Mascots got one more chance to rumble on Fort Stump. It was POURING rain, but Mama said, “Go play in your jammies, then we’ll get warmed up, dressed, eat lunch, and get on the road.”
Re: Fort Stump – Our willow was tipping over, so we decided to cut it off high and build a fort on top. The design was a collaboration; Nonno did all the real work! The fourth side is just roped off for now; next summer, we plan for Nonno to add a tire ladder.

Mary and I were seated in the 1A&B bulkhead seats for our flight to Salt Lake City (connecting to SEATAC) as the plane loaded in Philly. Just a regular flight like any other. Mary and I were talking and over her shoulder I noticed a guy in line, coyote brown day pack with a MARPAT poncho liner rolled up and lashed to the side, khaki vertx cargo pants, crocks and a 2/5 Marines T-shirt. What stood out to me was that he was carrying a folded American Flag. My blood turned cold. “Mary”, and I gestured towards him as he moved down the isle somewhere in the rear of the plane. She turned around and then she looked back at my face and she knew too. “You think”? Asked Mary
“Philly is the closest airport to Dover AFB”, I replied.
Mary and I sat in silence staring at each other for a few seconds and then she said “I’m going to take his seat and send him up here, he needs YOU, Chuck”.
Before I could even reply she was out of her seat and moving to the rear. A couple minutes later this Marine is standing next to me and he says “I was told to report to the bulkhead”.
“Hey man, I’m Chuck have a seat”. We shook hands.
Long story short, this Marine was a Company Gunny in 2-1 Marines and had just escorted 10 of his men to Dover AFB. He was on his way to Pendleton after being relieved by other escorts to take his fallen Marines to their various places of internment.
We talked and I listened. This was his 6th deployment and he had worked Abby gate with his Marines for the past couple weeks. The things he saw at that gate are indescribable. He called it playing God, as they plucked At Risk Afghans out of the crowd.
He was the Marine captured in a meme giving children drinks of his bottled water. He was still in shock, his hands were still stained from the MASCAL. The weight of that flag in his lap was almost overwhelming to me as I sat next to him. I struggled with my own emotions as I got him fed and a cold beer and some water. And then I let him rest, he was so impossibly tired. Misha and I looked after him while he slept.
After we had been flying for a couple of hours he woke up to go to the bathroom. He got up still clutching the flag, then he turned and looked back at his seat and then at me…. questioning. I nodded that it was safe for him to leave it. He set the flag on his seat and went to the bathroom. Now I was alone with the flag that had been over a coffin in a C17 hours earlier. This symbol of it all, the whole damn 20 years sat there next to me and I couldn’t hold the tears back anymore.
I texted my Marines, Jake, and Paul others and told them that fate had made me a Ranger Buddy of Marines tonight. My thoughts were with the Gunny, it hadn’t hit him yet. Mary and I could see it in his eyes, he was running on auto pilot. Where do we find such men????
I checked with Delta to see if there was a late flight from San Diego to Seattle but the last flight of the night had gone, so going the rest of the way to San Diego so he wouldn’t be alone was out of the question as I would be stuck there until tomorrow. I made sure that his unit had transportation waiting for him when he arrived there, and we parted company in Salt Lake to head to our connecting flights.
I’m writing this not to virtue signal but to remind everyone that outside of their life and its problems, there are men holding the line, doing what must be done no matter what. While my family stands down a hurricane and there is nothing I can do to help them tonight, God put me on a plane with a lone Marine carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders, and Mary Pressburg made sure that for at least a couple of hours of his journey, that he wouldn’t have to bear the weight of that flag alone, and I love her for it.
Misha showed the love that only an animal trained to serve could and I’m grateful for both.
Sitting in 1A wasn’t the mission I deserved, but it was the mission that I needed tonight.
CATHOLIC: The RCC in America is providing divided leadership about COVID vaccines. There’s Archbishop Strickland who is calling on Catholics to say no to forced jabs. In the middle are bishops like those in Kansas City and Phoenix who support our right to refuse.
And on the Left are Democrat strongholds like the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and the Diocese of Little Rock, San Antonio where the church is refusing to provide religious exemption letters.

Americans wishing to leave Afghanistan will now have to rely on diplomatic efforts by the State Department.

COVID test for both of us was negative and Dearest is thankfully fine, so he can nurse me, who is definitely not fine. I’m seeing improvement so thanking the Good Lord for that, Dearest’s TLC, and music. I’m too stupid to read, not that I get enough awake time for it to matter! This is what put me in ICU in 2016, but I’ve learned a lot in the meantime about self-care with homeopathics and essential oils. I only vomited one day, Instead of 2 + months. AFGHANISTAN: On Sunday, the Taliban took control of Bagram Air Base, a former American airbase that the U.S turned over to the Afghanistan government last month. They have reportedly released thousands of prisoners that were held at Bagram, including members of al Qaeda.

FAUXTUS: He’s been in his stolen office for seven months. In that time, he has overseen a sharp rise in gasoline prices, opened our southern border to anyone and everyone, triggered a 13 year high in inflation, blocked our pipeline while giving Russia theirs, pulled our troops out of Afghanistan in the sloppiest and most disastrous way possible, and oh yes not rid us of the coronavirus. So far as I can tell, he’s done nothing he promised apart from not sending out mean tweets.
HAITI: The death toll from the recent earthquake is up to 1,297. The quake destroyed thousands of buildings, including homes, businesses, schools, offices, churches, and hospitals. The death toll is expected to rise as rescuers race to find survivors in the rubble before it’s too late.
NIGERIA: A new report by the International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law (Intersociety) shows that, in the past 200 days, Islamic extremists have murdered 3,462 Christians. That is just 68 less than the total number killed in all of 2020.
STELTER: [9:37] – When Stephen Colbert had CNN’s Brian Stelter on The Late Show this week, 500,000 people tuned out. Dan Bongino calls Stelter the stupidest man on television. I decided to take his word for it and not lower my IQ by listening to him.
VAX: The U.S. bishops are divided over whether to grant religious exemptions to Catholics seeking to avoid mandated COVID-19 vaccines. While some bishops, like Cardinal Timothy Dolan of New York, have forbidden priests to grant the religious exemption that some laws allow, Colorado’s four Catholic bishops have upheld the right of Catholic laypeople to refuse a vaccine on the grounds of conscience.
Catholics in a diocese that forbids them from receiving a legally permitted religious exemption to vaccination may theoretically get one from a neighboring diocese.
WISDOM: An old farmer offered this prayer at morning breakfast – “Lord, I hate buttermilk and lard and raw white flour. But when they’re mixed together and baked, I love warm fresh biscuits. So Lord, when things come up that we don’t like, when life gets hard, when we don’t understand what you’re saying to us, help us to just relax and wait until you are done mixing. It will probably be even better than biscuits. Amen.“
