I’m exhausted so there will be no CtH notes on last night’s Task Force briefing. Here’s the link to President Trump’s Guidelines for Opening Up America Again.
It’s a three-phased approach based on the advice of public health experts. These steps will help state and local officials when reopening their economies, getting people back to work, and continuing to protect American lives.
The White House daily email said this:
President Trump’s plan calls for a phased return, outlining specific steps for state and local officials to follow in tailoring their response. The criteria include showing a downward trajectory of COVID-like symptoms reported over 14 days in a given state or region, as well as a decline in documented cases or positive tests during the same 14-day window.
A region’s hospital and healthcare system capacity is another important factor. The President’s guidelines specify that hospitals be able to treat all patients without crisis care before a state or region reopens for business. Robust testing programs, including emerging antibody testing, should be in place to protect at-risk healthcare workers.
When America reopens, core state preparedness responsibilities won’t change. The ability to set up safe, efficient screening and testing sites remains essential. States will continue to advise citizens on protocols for social distancing and use of face coverings. Continue reading

PUT ASIDE PARTISANSHIP: Michigan Democrat State Rep. Karen Whitsett has recovered from COVID-19. She credits hydroxychloroquine and says, “Everyone needs to get behind the president of the United States and the vice president of the United States and we need to simply unite together. …Whatever your party is, that is neither here nor there at this time. Right now we are human beings in the United States of America and we need to unite.”

The briefing begins an hour into the video and ends after 57 minutes. I’m sorry, but I couldn’t find a YouTube version that was just the talking part and WordPress won’t reliably embed any other video sourse, so I’m going to deduct one hour from all my times.
POTUS comes out: Mitigation works, we’re winning, etc. The numbers of masks, gowns, etc. that have been delivered where they’re needed is in the tens of millions per.
It annoys me that the media can’t be bothered to praise the people organizing and doing all this important work. I also keep coming across talking and writing heads whining about how they should have known then what they know now about this completely new disease so they could have done a less drastic shut down. April 14th Briefing Video: [1:07:01]
The numbers continue to improve. Fifteen percent of all U.S. counties have no cases at all; many others have low levels. My area (two counties, I live on the border) has only 134 cases. Tompkins is at .06%; Cortland is at .01%.
We’re doing so well, other nations are looking to us for help. The nations that listened to the World Health Organization’s PC response to travel bans are suffering very high levels of infection.
Trump announced he is halting funding of the World Health Organization while a review is conducted to assess WHO’s role in mismanaging the Coronavirus outbreak.

Excerpts from “The 13 revelations showing the FBI never really had a Russia collusion case to begin with” By John Solomon – April 13, 2020.
Last week, Attorney General William Barr declared there was never really a basis to probe Donald Trump’s campaign for alleged collusion with Russia. Continue reading

HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE: Medical professionals battling the pandemic are increasingly reporting benefits from the drug, saying they’re prescribing it for themselves, for patients, and for frontline personnel.
In one of their more egregious pandemic reporting, the media persistently pooh-poohed the drug, simply because Trump was praising its potential.
Meanwhile, South Dakota’s Republican governor, Kristi Noem, has launched a state-wide trial to formally test the drug’s effectiveness against COVID-19. Noem said that she has been in cooperation with the federal government in preparation for the trial.
“I made direct requests to President Trump and Vice President Pence to supply us with enough hydroxychloroquine so that it could be made available for every hospitalized person the state may have, as well as those for health care workers on the frontlines and those in the most vulnerable populations.”

THE DAN BONGINO SHOW: Ep. 1226 Don’t Fall For The Trap Coming [1:00:23] – The first 40 minutes of this are about how Obama’s CIA director made up a load of crap about Donald Trump, attributed it to real Russians, then laundered it through a former British spy named Christopher Steele.
IOW, Spygate was not a Russian disinformation ploy that our intelligence agencies fell for. It was a planned, political hit job from start to finish.

My briefing notes below might have been more interesting and funny if I had taken a shot every time a reporter asked a ridiculous or repetitive question. Sadly for all y’all, I don’t drink. Or maybe not, cuz as I write this particular paragraph, I’ve still got an hour to go and I’m pretty sure I’d be on the floor by now if I had tried it LOL.
