Hope everybody had a great holiday. I missed dinner at SD’s and stayed home sick. DW brought home some leftovers and fixed me a turkey sammich with cranberries and pumpkin pie. It was awesome.
More than 30 million idiots gave thanks for all their blessings yesterday then went out and fought like ravening wolves over cheap electronics and kitchen appliances. Some 100 million more are expected today. I went by the Starbucks I deliver the New York Times to at 4:10 this morning. They open at 4:30. There were already 5 cars lined up at the drive-thru to pay six bucks for a cup of foam. We stay away from the crazies this time of year but DW has the patience to go to a mall, find a parking space and stand in a long checkout line. I have no patience whatsoever. None. Every bit of shopping I do (which isn’t very much) is done from right where I’m sitting now. You order it, pay for it and they send it right to your door. Piece of cake.

Thanksgiving is far and away the heaviest day in the newspaper delivery business. It is an ode to our unexpurgated greed, as we give thanks for our blessings just before we push and shove to get an iPad that’s on sale for cheap. The Chicago Tribunes I deliver will have about 1200 pages, including the news and the sale ads. This will be my fourth year and I still dread it. To top it off, I started coming down sick Monday and it’s gotten progressively worse. There is every possibility DW will make the trek to her daughter’s house for the holiday while I dine on chicken soup. I’ll just have my turkey and stuffing when I no longer feel like 10 pounds of Durbin in a one pound bag.

It is a bizarro world, indeed, when the dictator of Russia can rally Americans when our president refuses to.

The House bill would see to it that “refugees” from Syria and Iraq undergo screening that would include FBI background checks before they are permitted to come here in order to weed out the radical Muslim extremist nut cases who want to destroy the country.
If only we had done this for the 2008 Presidential candidates, things would be completely different today.
Clearly the House of Representatives heard your demands that something be done to prevent what happened in Paris from happening here. Sure, it’s possible that many of them are advancing this bill because they’re terrified that if they don’t, you’ll vote their asses out. But, hey. Whatever gets them to do the right thing, right?

Of course, if you actually check on what he taught there, it was trendy lefty stuff like a course entitled “Race and the Law” (I have a friend who took this course from Obama) which was devoted exclusively to the creative uses of the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment, which to many liberal is the entire constitution. There is no evidence that Obama ever taught, or studied, the structural aspects of the Constitution, as it is obvious that he (following Woodrow Wilson) has no respect for the separation of powers.

I was used to DW gathering all the things to make the meal and constantly griping about having to do this every year. It’s at this time of year I miss Granny the most. I have such vivid memories of helping her break up the stale bread for her stuffing, pitting the grapes for her fruit salad, and watching her make the crusts for all the pies she baked. We’d come in from doing chores and the whole house was filled with smells that seemed a lot like Heaven to us kids.
It’s also distracting to see the utter failure of a president who will not accept reality nor respect the laws of civilized people. Last night he mocked republicans as being afraid of migrant women and children. It is painfully obvious he hates republicans worse than terrorists. Even some in the media are waking up… belatedly… at what they allowed him to become. Not that they’re sorry, of course. Feeling guilt requires a conscience. Rather than post them in the header I’ll put everything in the reply section and post some things that I haven’t had a chance to in awhile.
Most of the European continent has finally, if belatedly, been shaken to its core from the folly of welcoming ravening Muslim animals to live amongst them. Apparently the student protestors are telling their useful idiots white allies to stay the hell out of the Blacks Only “healing spaces.”
Prominent Black Lives Matter activist Johnetta Elzie seemingly confirmed those with Caucasian skin were asked to leave the area, tweeting that the group had created a “black only healing space for the students to share, decompress, be vulnerable & real.”
So, you can’t decompress or be vulnerable and real when whites are there?
