THE MONDAY GRUDGE

Posted by Pistol Pete

Yesterday our most benevolent ruler took time from his busy schedule of raising money and tearing the country apart to stop in Aurora,Colorado to meet with families of the Batman Massacre. He appeared to be attentive, sympathetic and I’m sure he promised them anything they needed.Fortunately for them they live in a swing state he needs desperately. What a marked difference to his response to victims of the Fort Hood massacre.I may be cynical, but I refuse to believe this poser gives a tinker’s dam about anybody but himself.I know him too well.

THE SATURDAY GRUDGE

Posted by Pistol Pete

I didn’t post yesterday for obvious reasons.I considered taking the whole weekend off,but then I thought:who better to share the grief and pain with in order to cope than with you,my closest friends.I’m sorry there are no graphics posted,I do not have the vast library of images Chrissy does so I’ll have to make do.For the rest of this rant the soulless bastard who did it will be referred to as Piece Of Shit(POS).

I first heard of it early yesterday morning while I was delivering papers. When the initial shock passed, the first thing I thought of was how soon the left,as it always does, would somehow blame our side. They did not disappoint as reporters scrambled for something, anything to put on the air.First was professional hack Brian Ross who rushed to air accusations against a 58 year old Tea Party member with the same name.He had to retract it later, but you can’t unring the bell. Then came Nanny Bloomberg,Tiny Dancer and all the usual suspects squealing about tighter gun control.Turns out the weapons POS used were all purchased legally. As long as a US citizen commits no felony,he can be licensed to purchase firearms. All the armed security in the world could not have prevented what happened.

The only remedy I can see to prevent such tragedies from happening again is a national CCW law,so people may carry firearms if they are qualified.Despite the protestations of the left, licensed CCW people would not go around shooting people. But perhaps it would discourage those that do if they think a potential victim may not be totally helpless.

There is much more to be said, and you know I will say it.Most links today are related to yesterday, plus some videos I have cached  that you may enjoy.

WHO ELSE, MR. PRESIDENT?

John Kass
July 18, 2012

When President Barack Obama hauled off and slapped American small-business owners in the mouth the other day, I wanted to dream of my father.

But I didn’t have to close my eyes to see my dad. I could do it with my eyes open.

All I had to do was think of the driveway of our home, and my dad’s car gone before dawn, that old white Chrysler with a push-button transmission. It always started, but there was a hole in the floor and his feet got wet in the rain. So he patched it with concrete mix and kept on driving it to the little supermarket he ran with my Uncle George.

He’d return home long after dark, physically and mentally exhausted, take a plate of food, talk with us for a few minutes, then flop in that big chair in front of the TV. Even before his cigarette was out, he’d begin to snore.

The next day he’d wake up and do it again. Day after day, decade after decade. Weekdays and weekends, no vacations, no time to see our games, no money for extras, not even forMcDonald’s. My dad and Uncle George, and my mom and my late Aunt Mary, killing themselves in their small supermarket on the South Side of Chicago.

There was no federal bailout money for us. No Republican corporate welfare. No Democratic handouts. No bipartisan lobbyists working the angles. No Tony Rezkos. No offshore accounts. No Obama bucks.

Just two immigrant brothers and their families risking everything, balancing on the economic high wire, building a business in America. They sacrificed, paid their bills, counted pennies to pay rent and purchase health care and food and not much else. And for their troubles they were muscled by the politicos, by the city inspectors and the chiselers and the weasels, all those smiling extortionists who held the government hammer over all of our heads.

I thought about this after I heard what Obama told a campaign crowd the other day, speaking about business owners and why they were successful.

“You didn’t get there on your own,” Obama said. “I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something — there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there.

“If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.”

If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that? Somebody else made that happen?

Somebody else, Mr. President? Who, exactly? Government?

One of my earliest memories as a boy at the store was that of the government men coming from City Hall. One was tall and beefy. The other was wiry. They wanted steaks.

We didn’t eat red steaks at home or yellow bananas. We took home the brown bananas and the brown steaks because we couldn’t sell them. But the government men liked the big, red steaks, the fat rib-eyes two to a shrink-wrapped package. You could put 20 or so in a shopping bag.

“Thanks, Greek,” they’d say.

That was government.

We didn’t go to movies or out to restaurants. Everything went into the business. Uncle George and dad never bought what they could not afford. The store employed people, and the workers fed their families and educated their children and put them through college. They were good people, all of them. We worked together and worked hard, but none worked harder than the bosses.

It’s the same story with so many other businesses in America, immigrants and native-born. The entrepreneurs risk everything, their homes, their children’s college funds, their hearts, all for a chance at the dream: independence, and a small business of their own.

Most often, they fail and fall to the ground without a government parachute. But some get up and start again.

When I was grown and gone from home, my parents finally managed to save a little money. After all those years of hard work and denying themselves things, they had enough to buy a place in Florida and a fishing boat in retirement. Dad died only a few years later. You wouldn’t call them rich. But Obama might.

Obama’s changed. Gone is that young knight drawing the sword from the stone, selling Hopium to the adoring media, preaching an end to the broken politics of the past. These days, he wears a new presidential persona: the multimillionaire with the Chicago clout, playing the class warrior, fighting for that second term.

And he offers an American dream much different from my father’s. Open your eyes and you can see it too. He stands there at the front of the mob, in his shirt sleeves, swinging that government hammer, exhorting the crowd to use its votes and take what it wants.

TWENTY REASONS WHY IT’S GREAT TO BE BARACK OBAMA

Posted by Pistol Pete

1) It’s all the golf you can play and as many free vacations as you want. The teleprompter tells you what to say to the crowd and if anybody makes a joke about you, someone calls him a racist!

2) You get a Nobel Peace Prize just for showing up.

3) No matter how much worse black Americans do under you than George W. Bush, Kanye West is never going to say, “Barack Obama doesn’t care about black people.”

4) You can eat a dog and PETA will still love you.

5) No one seems to find it odd that you simultaneously repeat Harry Truman’s famous line, “The buck stops here” — as you blame George Bush, Republicans in Congress, greedy corporations, the European economy, and even ATM machines for your many, many failures.

6) The Occupy Movement still loves you despite the fact that you’ve shoveled billions of dollars in taxpayer dollars to Wall Street firms via bailouts and loan programs.

7) You can have a net worth of 11 million dollars, go on multiple 6 figure vacations per year, and hobnob with the wealthiest Americans at swanky 40k a plate fundraisers; yet no one bats an eye when you criticize Mitt Romney for being rich.

8) The press doesn’t incessantly repeat the body count in Afghanistan in every article about the war, like it did when George Bush was in Iraq.

9) You get to keep Gitmo open, sign on to the Patriot Act, fight in Afghanistan and kill terrorists with drone attacks while leftists complain that you haven’t tried to go after Bush for committing “war crimes” because he did the same things.

10) The mainstream press judges you not on what you’ve done, but on whatever you happen to be saying right this moment, even if it’s different from what you were saying yesterday.

11) After creating jobs overseas with stimulus money, you can criticize Mitt Romney for having a Swiss bank account without being laughed at despite the fact you’re holding fundraisers in Switzerland, Sweden, Paris and China.

12) The same press that was utterly uninterested in your background when you ran for office in 2008 considers Mitt Romney’s religion, what date he left Bain Capital, and how hard his wife worked when she was taking care of their kids much more important than anything you did over the last 3 1/2 years as President.

13) You can simultaneously block the keystone pipeline and ANWR while you hold up offshore drilling in the Gulf and demonize oil companies, yet claim with a straight face that you’re trying to reduce gas prices.

14) Despite the fact that you’re conducting war across the globe and have never served in the military, nobody calls you a chickenhawk.

15) Even though your administration helped kill 300 people with guns, including an American citizen, gun control advocates have zero interest in getting to the bottom of it.

16) You have the single most important job on earth and yet, most people seem to be thrilled that you’re spending more time campaigning for reelection than you do working.

17) The mainstream media is much more concerned with the possible racism or bad motives of anyone questioning you than it is with whether your policies actually work.

18) No matter how much of an utter failure you are, most black Americans feel compelled to pretend you’re not a disaster because they’re afraid everyone will judge them by how incompetent you turned out to be.

19) You have a National Debt Charge Card with a limit of “Infinity” and you’re not scared to use it.

20) Your biggest accomplishments so far after killing Osama Bin Laden are ending the manned space program, having the longest string of over 8% unemployment of any President since WWII, putting more Americans for food stamps than any other President in history, killing the work requirements in welfare, giving up on stopping illegal aliens, adding more debt in three and a half years than Bush did in eight, and decimating America’s health care system with the least popular entitlement program in history. Yet, you still have a chance to be reelected. It doesn’t get any better than that.

THE FRIDAY GRUDGE

Posted by Pistol Pete

Headline on Drudge says Condoleeza Rice is the frontrunner for Romney’s veep pick.

I have mixed feelings.Yes,she’s smart and can claim foreign policy experience. However, she’s a moderate,pro-choice and from what I can remember was on the wrong side of a lot of issues in the Bush White House. This also gives the dems an opening to bring up Bush and the Iraqwar all over again.

Rush likes her,Levin hates her.

Chrissy:can you post some facts about Condi from your rescources so we can come to an informed opinion? You can dig up anything.

Thanks
