Rolled Again

Did I miss something? Did we win anything last November? You wouldn’t know it by the mugging republicans took at the hands of their pals the democrats during the budget fiasco that was just passed. Democrats get their way nearly all the time no matter who has the majority. They have discovered, much to their delight, that there is virtually nothing the GOP is willing to fight for. They have been terrified of the specter of a government shutdown since the former president, Ben T. Penis, got Newt Gingrich to back down over a staged government shutdown that was pre-arranged to lay the blame on republicans. They know that the press will blame them 100%, all of the time.
The republican elite have proven time and again they care less about working with President Trump than about keeping their status among the DC party crowd. It leaves conservatives all across the country asking themselves: “What have we won?”

HOUSE LEADERSHIP LAUNCHED A COUP AGAINST AMERICAN VOTERS THIS WEEK
Paul Ryan and House Republicans included strict language in their trillion dollar budget that prevents any and all funding of President Trump’s border wall.

Paul Ryan’s new budget bill will fund:
** Planned Parenthood
** Central American illegal immigrant centers
** Domestic spending will increase
** No cuts in funding to EPA despite Trump’s promises
** Continue payment on Obamacare subsidies
** No funding cuts to sanctuary cities

But the House budget includes language that FORBIDS the President of the United States of building a border wall with Mexico.

Paul Ryan’s bill is so bad Democrats are fundraising off of the plan in celebration.

Frustrated conservatives ready to start winning under Trump
The spending deal struck over the weekend to avoid a partial government shutdown is just the latest failure of GOP-controlled Washington to deliver for conservative activists. To them, that bill is part of a larger pattern of putting off fights with the Democrats for another day only for tomorrow to never come — a trend they were already experiencing with run-of-the-mill Republicans, but one they hoped would end under Trump.

Conservatives Fume Over Complete Concession To Democrats On Budget Deal

How do we win Congress and Presidency and still get this as a result?
Conservatives are blasting the five-month, fiscal 2017 spending deal written by Republicans and Democrats as nothing short of a “cave in” by the GOP despite its control of both the House, Senate and White House.

The Gentlemen Losers Strike Again
And this spending bill is the same kind of crapola Congress sent to Obama year after year.
Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are getting everything they wanted.
Meanwhile the Gentlemen Losers — Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell — get one more opportunity to prove that they really are nice guys who want to work with the Democrats.
Good grief. It’s infuriating.
But this pile of crap is just more of the same.
And isn’t this exactly why Americans voted for Donald Trump?
We’re sick and tired of this nonsense.

Speaker Paul Ryan Defends Pile of Crap Budget Plan that Excludes Funding for Trump Wall
Ryan defended his 1,665 pages long budget that includes an average of approximately 210 words per page — —or about twice as long as the stimulus law (the “American Recovery and Reinvestment Act”) that President Barack Obama signed less than a month after his inauguration in 2009.
Ryan and GOP leaders inserted language that specifically restricts any and all funding of the Trump border wall.

We didn’t elect Donald Trump just to have Paul Ryan put on Nancy Pelosi’s skirt and pearls and deliver for the Democrats.

PAUL RYAN UNLEASHED: New House Budget RESTRICTS ANY AND ALL FUNDING of Trump Border Wall

Chuck Schumer: Trump ‘Did Not Play Much of a Role’ in Budget Negotiations
“Our Republican colleagues I give them a lot of credit — Mitch McConnell — we worked very well together — Leader Pelosi, Speaker Ryan as well,” Schumer said, adding the names of the Democrats and Republicans in both chambers responsible for leading on appropriations.
“We all worked as a team,” Schumer said. “And we came up with a very good solution for the people here.
“But it shows we Democrats want to work with our Republican colleagues,” Schumer said. “And when they work with us, it’s great.”

White House Pushes Budget Deal As A Win For Republicans After Democrats Get Under Trump’s Skin
Congressional leaders reached an agreement Sunday night on a budget that would keep the government open through September and avoid a looming shutdown. Because the bill includes funding for Planned Parenthood, money to help Puerto Rico with a projected shortfall in Medicaid and restricts the allotted $1.5 billion for border security from going to the new wall, Democrats began touting it as a win.
Clearly, it frustrated President Trump.

Democrats confident they can block Trump’s agenda after spending bill win

Democrats think they have set the stage to block President Trump’s legislative priorities for years to come by winning major concessions in a spending bill to keep the government open.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) secured nearly $5 billion in new domestic spending by exploiting disagreements between Trump and GOP lawmakers over spending priorities.

Limbaugh grills Pence on budget: ‘What is the point of voting Republican?’

Host to VP: ‘We’ve been told this for 15 years, we’ll get ‘em next time’
Radio host Rush Limbaugh received a call from Vice President Mike Pence on Tuesday, and he wasn’t shy about voicing his displeasure over the 2017 budget deal.
“The Rush Limbaugh Show” rarely has guests, but a $1.2 trillion federal spending deal made between Republicans and Democrats to avoid a government shutdown prompted an interview with Mr. Pence.
The theme of the exchange boiled down to one question: “If this is what happens, Mr. Vice President, why vote Republican?”
“What is the point of voting Republican if the Democrats are gonna continue to win practically 95 percent of their objectives, such as in this last budget deal?” the conservative host asked.

There is a last ditch effort to pass a new health care bill coming. It stands not a snowball’s chance in hell of passing. The entire fiasco was orchestrated by Paul Ryan to ensure enough poison pills in it for conservatives to vote against it. The democrats know Obamacare will never go away. No government program ever does. They just suck up more and more money. As professional spenders, the liberals know once you give people something free (or at least free to THEM), it can never be taken away without a rebellion. It would not be a bit surprising if Trump decided since his own party won’t deal with him he may go to the democrats to negotiate. After all, they’re still the real power in Washington.

Obamacare Repeal Stalled by Moderate Republican Opposition
Congressman Billy Long (R-MS), a strong House leadership ally, said that he would not support the bill over concerns that the bill “strips away any guarantee that pre-existing conditions would be covered and affordable.” Long said in an interview on Monday, “They got 40 Freedom Caucus votes,” asking, “Why do they need me?”
Fred Upton, the former Energy and Commerce Committee chairman, said Tuesday he will not vote for the Obamacare repeal bill. He said, “I’ve supported the practice of not allowing pre-existing illnesses to be discriminated against from the very get-go.” Upton told WHTC this morning. “This amendment torpedos that, and I told leadership I cannot support this bill with this provision in it.”

The Democrats’ First 100 Days

2009 Stilton - Liberals black
Nationwide, the Democratic Party is in tatters with only 16 governors, 30 state legislative chambers, a historically low number of state legislative seats, 193 members of the House, and 46 senators.

Democratic voters despise President Trump, but this has not translated into wins in the special elections that have been held this year.

Despite American majorities siding against them, they are still dead set against enforcement of immigration laws and restrictions on abortion, while still supporting laws against firearms and carbon dioxide.

Democrat leadership has yet to rally behind any plan to fix Obamacare or an alternative to Trump’s tax proposal.

In Congress, Chuck Schumer’s obstruction of Trump’s appointments has been aggressive and unprecedented, but Trump’s cabinet is filling up anyway.

Schumer also screwed up bigly when he forced Republicans to end the filibuster for judicial appointments.  There are a LOT of federal judicial seats needing to be filled and the likelihood of another SCOTUS seat opening up soon is very high.  Without the filibuster, Democrats will have zero ability to prevent the entire federal judiciary from moving to the right.

Ain’t it grand?!

“It’s for the Children”

It always irks me when liberals piss and moan about how mean republicans are to kids and old people. It used to work like a charm every election cycle but a lot of plain, good-hearted working people are getting tired of this nonsense.

Let’s be clear…THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A PRO-LIFE DEMOCRAT.  The party hacks have made that painfully clear.

Dick Durbin, Tom Perez To 28 Percent Of Dems Who Oppose Abortion: Get In Line Or Get Out

“I am committed to women’s rights under the law, reproductive rights certainly, and our party is [committed],” Durbin said in an appearance on CNN. “We’ve made that part of our platform and position for a long, long time. I know within the ranks of the Democratic Party there are those who see that differently on a personal basis, but when it comes to the policy position, I think we need to be clear and unequivocal.”

Look Who Went Into The Bowl Of Stupid

Diamond and Silk: ‘My president never says anything that’s stupid’

EDITORIAL COMMENT:

Remember Bart Stupak? He and a small group of pro-life democrats didn’t want to vote for Obamacare because of federal abortion funding. It would not have passed without them. Had he stuck to his principles, he would have gotten tens of millions in donations from grateful Americans. In the end, he caved and this disaster passed. And the next election cycle he was summarily booted out of office along with all of the others. All the democrats who voted for O-care got something in return. Which led me to the conclusion there are no moderate democrats. They just have different price tags.

The Georgia Ballot

The run-off will be between Democrat Ossoff (48.1%) and Republican Handel (19.8%).

I was puzzled by this, since the district is said to be traditionally Republican.  I looked up the ballot and found there were 18 people running for that seat in Georgia yesterday.  More than half (11) were Republicans.  Five were Democrats and two were Independents.

This is the top of the ballot results.  The rest of the contenders got 0.3% or less.

2017_04 18 Georgia ballot

  • The Republican votes add up to 51%.
  • The Democrat and Independent votes add up to 49%.

Democrats are hopeful about the run-off, but it’s hardly the shoo-in one might think from the Ossoff vs. Handel numbers above.

Given Hillary’s recently whinging about misogyny, it’ll be fun to see what the Dems say if the male Democrat loses to the female Republican.

Close, But No Cigar

Well, they won another special election… almost. 30-year-old carpetbagging puppet Jon Ossoff garnered 48% of the vote in the Ga.-6th election yesterday. Since he did not overcome the 50% threshold to avoid a runoff election the liberals pissed away almost $9 million. Well, it’s only money. He will now face another contest on June 20, not against 11 republicans, but one — Karen Handel, former secretary of state who ran for senator and governor previously. It is likely the heavily republican district will coalesce around her, making her the heir to HHS Secretary Tom Price.

Jon Ossoff Finishes Below 50%, Georgia’s 6th District Heading to Runoff
In the end, Ossoff ended up pulling in less than 50%, with totals showing him at 48.6% after a huge dump of votes came in from Fulton County around midnight, leading to numerous outlets to project this as heading to a runoff. Republican Karen Handel was second at 19.5% and will be his opponent in a June runoff.
This has been a race that Democrats have been targeting since it opened up, as President Donald Trump won it by less than two points in November. Millions of dollars have been pumped into the Democratic campaign. Meanwhile, Trump has taken to Twitter to weigh in on the race in an effort to energize Republicans.

“Five Takeaways From the Georgia Special Election”

[CtH: This is from MSN, which was anti-Trump/pro-Hillary.  IOW, this is the best spin they could come up with.  ::snork::  My fave line: “A female Republican politician probably wasn’t his preferred choice for the runoff.”  No, really?]

1. This isn’t a win, and it isn’t a loss. It is a “to be continued.”
2. Ossoff will have a reasonable chance of winning in June.
3. This is not a great result for Republicans. Moral victories are a myth, but they can tell us things about other, similarly situated contests.
4. Ossoff did have unique advantages
5. It’s early. Perhaps most importantly, it is early. Despite protestations to the contrary, we don’t know where President Trump’s job approval will be in the fall of 2018.

MSNBC: Democrats grumbling about how Jon Ossoff blew millions of campaign dollars on TV ads

Democrats begin to wonder: When do we win?
For all the roiling anger and energy at the grass roots, the party still fell short in Georgia and Kansas. And Democratic prospects in upcoming elections aren’t promising.

For all the anger, energy, and money swirling at the grass-roots level, Democrats didn’t manage to pick off the first two Republican-held congressional seats they contended for in the Trump era, and the prospects aren’t markedly better in the next few House races coming up: the Montana race at the end of May, and the South Carolina contest on June 20.

After that, it’ll be a further five months before the New Jersey and Virginia elections for governor, leaving some strategists and lawmakers wondering how to keep the furious rank-and-file voters engaged in fueling and funding the party’s comeback — especially given the sky-high expectations that surrounded Ossoff’s ultimately unsuccessful run at the 50-percent threshold that was necessary to win the seat outright.

The Devil Went Down to Georgia

Another Tuesday….another special election…..another pathetic display by a political party so desperate for any kind of positive news they’ll pour $10 million into a House race for a seat the republicans have held for 40 years. Tom Price was appointed HHS director by President Trump and this was his seat. After the democrats congratulated themselves by “only” losing a special election last week in Kansas by 8 points they really, really hope to win this one. It’s an open election where if no one candidate wins 51% of the vote the top two have a runoff. 80-90% of the cash poured in to this election is from outside sources. Around the webs:

Trump raises the stakes in GA special election today
Welcome to another Tuesday, another special election, and another opportunity for speculation about whether Donald Trump and Republicans are really in trouble this time. Voters in Georgia’s 6th District go to the polls today for the all-in primary that pits 18 candidates against each other to replace Tom Price, now Health and Human Services Secretary for the Trump administration. Democrats have poured over eight million dollars into the race, and have to hope that Jon Ossoff will get to 50% today to avoid the runoff:
It’s a foregone conclusion that Ossoff will win a plurality today. The Republican vote will get split among eleven candidates. Democrats hoped to get a massive turnout from their side in today’s race to get to the 50% mark, which is why so much cash has flowed into a House special election. Unfortunately for them, Ossoff hasn’t polled outside of the low 40s in the R+8 district, so that strategy required Republicans to sit at home — or to have Democrats turn out in massive numbers. In a special election, that could happen, and might catch Republicans napping.

Democrats throw millions, Hollywood punch into Georgia House race

Democrats are pumping millions into the Georgia congressional election set for Tuesday, hoping a 30-year-old political upstart who’s attracting star power can deliver a rebuke to President Trump and help the party reclaim lost momentum.

Hollywood has even come out for the off-cycle vote, with actor Samuel L. Jackson cutting a radio ad urging voters to flip the seat once held by Republican Tom Price, who is now Trump’s health secretary.

Hopeful ABC: Special Election Win Could Mean ‘Real Chance’ Dems Take Congress
The journalists on Monday’s Good Morning America excitedly predicted that a special election in April of 2017, 18 months before the midterm elections, could mean a “real chance Democrats take back Congress in 2018.” Discussing Democrat John Osoff’s chances in Tuesday’s Georgia House race, Matt Dowd enthused: “Can he win it without a runoff? If a Democrat wins that district in Georgia, there’s real chance Democrats could take back Congress in 2018.”

Heavy Funding for Dem Jon Ossoff Catches Republicans Flat-Footed in Georgia Special Election

A highly energized effort by the Democrats that has raised more than $8.9 million from around the country for thirty-year-old Jon Ossoff has caught the Republican leadership napping .
This puts the young Democrat within striking distance of the 50 percent plus one he needs to win the crowded Sixth Congressional District special election “jungle primary” in Georgia to replace Republican Tom Price, now Secretary of Health and Human Services, outright on Tuesday.

CBS Hypes Young Democrat in Georgia Primary, ‘Hopes’ Are ‘Invested’ in Him

It’s not the first time CBS had thrown its weight behind a candidate just before a close election. In the run up to the 2016 presidential election, CBS touted Clinton’s ‘Get Out the Vote’ efforts in early voted Iowa. “Early access to the polls in Iowa was not lost on the Clinton campaign today,” Pelley touted back in September. Just a few days before the 2016 election, Pelley was greatly concerned that African-Americans wouldn’t turnout in the numbers needed for Clinton to beat Trump.

Trump Enters the Fray of Georgia Special Election, Attacks ‘Super Liberal Democrat’ Ossoff

Ossoff is a former congressional staffer for Rep. Hank Johnson (D, Ga.) (YOU KNOW,THE DUMBASS WHO SAID GUAM WOULD TIP OVER IF EVERYBODY WENT TO ONE SIDE OF THE ISLAND), who once compared Jewish settlers in the West Bank to “termites.” Ossoff has touted his national security credentials on the campaign trail, initially claiming he spent five years as a national security staffer with Johnson with access to classified information. The candidate later admitted he had misrepresented his record, only working as a full-time aide for about half that time while holding a security clearance for his final five months of the job.

Why “Tolerant” Leftists Are So Intolerant

Tolerance

The article linked below is worth printing out to study carefully.  Briefly, it says that, while tolerance is a virtue, all of the virtues are interdependent and people nowadays aren’t being formed in all of them.

The Left promotes tolerance in isolation from other important virtues like justice, temperance, courage, and prudence.

Thus, they lack the wisdom necessary to avoid the two extremes of tolerance:

  • Softheadedness: Putting up with something we should suppress.
  • Narrowmindedness: Suppressing something we should put up with.

For example, they put up with militant Islam, while suppressing peaceful Christianity.  Likewise, they excuse bad behavior in Democrats, while condemning much less heinous acts in Republicans.

Hillary Clinton, Champion of Baby Killing

Hillary not my president Awesome

Planned Parenthood is honoring Hillary Clinton as “Champion of the Century” to thank her for “40 years of service to women and girls in this country.”

Or, maybe they should say, it’s for 40 years of pimping for Planned Parenthood.

Clinton touted her support of abortion on demand throughout her 2016 presidential campaign.

Last year, the Democratic party platform became the most extreme it has ever been regarding abortion. It called for taxpayer-funded abortion on demand in the United States and abroad.
