Whatever the controversy is between Democrats and Republicans

2015_02 05 Crock pot murder

“Whatever the controversy is”?

Doesn’t that sound exactly like Obama’s mealy-mouthed description of what motivates ISIS?

Funny how these “empathetic” Leftists are always very VERY clear about what motivates Republicans, Conservatives, Tea Partiers, Right Wingnuts, Christians and Israelis, isn’t it?

Obama Underpants

From Fox News Update: “There’s chutzpah and then there’s being self-deluded. President Obama appeared to veer toward the latter when he vowed to ‘redouble vigilance’ against ISIS in the wake of the Islamist militant’s latest and most depraved atrocity, burning alive a pilot from a key member of the U.S.-coalition fighting the group.”

Here’s a news flash, Cockroach-IN-Chief: Your “vigilance” toward militant Islamic terrorism was ZERO. ZERO times TWO was ZERO. Redoubling it still equals ZERO.

Cockroach IN Chief

Also from Fox News Update: “The president wouldn’t say the name of ‘radical Islam’ and instead chose to be facile in denouncing ‘whatever ideology they are operating off of’ as ‘bankrupt’. Hmmm. Which ideology is it again? Are they feminists? Dadaists? Jacobites? Maybe Jedis?”

Probably Right-Wingnut, Climate-Denying, Tea Party-ists. If you doubt me, ask Brian Williams. He never ever lies about anything.

Muslim terrorists

Now comes word that Obama chose the National Prayer Breakfast to rant at American Christians about not getting all high-moral-horsey about ISIS atrocities because, you know, the Crusades and slavery and Jim Crow laws.

Ummmmmmmmmmm … Muslims invaded Christian nations. Last I heard, even Democrats didn’t have a problem with people defending themselves from aggression.

Truth about the Crusades

As for slavery, Christians ended it while Muslims still practice it. And don’t get me started on Jim Crow laws (and the KKK) which were, you know, entirely a DEMOCRAT phenomenon.

Now … if you wanna talk about whose moral horses actually ARE higher:

MEDIA FAIL: NBC’s Williams lies … again

2015_01 30 Brian Williams lies again

Yes, a helicopter was hit by an RPG, but Williams and his camera crew were nowhere near by. Their aircraft arrived at the FOB west of Baghdad some 30 to 60 minutes later, at which time Williams took photos of the damaged chopper.

When Williams’ fairy tale was challenged this week by those men who actually were shot down, Williams said he was “sorry” that he “misremembered” the incident.

How do you “misremember” something like that?!

Other people would just call this a Big Fat Lie, but for Democrats like Brian Williams, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Anderson Cooper and JFK, it’s okay to be “flexible” about the facts of heroic near death experiences whenever that version of “truth” happens to be convenient for their careers.

Happy Anniversary (not)

58 Million unborn babies have been legally slaughtered in the 42 years since Roe v. Wade. Please pray for those who are braving the weather to protest abortion in D.C. today, especially my Dearest who has a cold, but went anyway. I’m hoping he doesn’t come home with pneumonia.

2015_01 20 SOTU Dems and abortion

The Democrats’ two-faced hypocrisy was on display this week, as Obama claimed in the SOTU that the lives of all children matter.  Obama has promised to veto a ban on abortion after 20 weeks, because unborn children feel intense pain as they are poisoned and/or dismembered (literally torn limb from limb) to death.

The latest Quinnipiac poll found that the vast majority of Americans are very far to the right of Obama and the Democrats on abortion.

  • 84% believe there should be significant restrictions and safe guards, including limits to within the first three months of pregnancy, allowed only in cases of rape, incest, or to save the life of the mother, or never permitted.
  • 84% believe that laws can exist which would protect, both the health and well-being of a woman and the rights of the unborn.
  • 78% support requiring parental notification before a minor can obtain an abortion.
  • 68% oppose taxpayer funding of abortion.
  • 59% believe abortion does a woman more harm than good in the long run.
  • 57% support the conscience rights of health professionals to refuse to participate in or refer patients for abortions.

As noted in the graphic, the Democrat Party Platform on Abortion specifically rejects any and all restrictions, while strongly supporting forcing taxpayers to finance abortions regardless of their religious or conscience objections to the procedure.

About those late term abortions

Whenever we try to talk about how late abortions are excruciatingly painful for the unborn, Democrats pull long faces and beat their breasts about fetal abnormalities and maternal health. But a recent study of why women chose to have late term abortions demonstrated the Democrats’ reasons are mosly political posturing and b.s.

The real reasons that most women choose a late abortion are social – e.g., unemployment, relationship instability, money problems. In addition, the decision to abort did not remedy these problems, but in many cases made them worse.

Obama toon - Changing the law

From my Fox News Email Update:

We are told that President Obama promised his fellow Democrats in the Senate, who huddled this week in Baltimore to contemplate life in the minority, that he is “going to play offense” against the Republican-controlled Congress. This is hardly surprising, given that his response to every political setback in his presidency has been to escalate his conflict with his political rivals. Remember that this is a president who, even when he was riding high at the start of his term, has made it a priority to break and remake the Republican Party, opponents his top communications adviser said were not “worthy” of the moment. At every inflection point, Obama has sought to change his opponents, but shown little interest in changing how he, his administration or his party operates. This effort promises to be as much of a failure as all of the prior tries.

Democrats stomp their constitutionally illiterate feet

2015_01 12 Petition to remove Cruz

The White House “Make A Petition” thing is real, as is this particular petition demanding that President Obama remove Ted Cruz from his new appointment as Chair of the Senate Subcommittee on Science and Space.

Sadly for the poorly educated framers and signers of this petition, the President of the U.S. has exactly zero authority in this matter. Since each party assigns its own members to the various committees and each committee then distributes the assigned members among the subcommittees, Obama could have some influence on the assignment of Democrats. But Senator Cruz is a Republican.

As to the claim that Cruz is unqualified for the position due to being “scientifically illiterate” (which is Democrat code for “he doesn’t believe climate change is a threat to humanity”), it doesn’t make all that much difference here. The Senate Subcommittee on Science and Space only makes recommendations, which must then be approved by the entire Commerce Committee before being reported to the Senate, which must then vote on them.

Methinks the REAL function of this ridiculous petition is for the DNC to harvest names and contact info of potential donors. Me-also-thinks it’s highly unlikely to net them any new names, a situation about which I shall now weep great big scientific crocodile tears.

Two Americas

Democrats - Promise and Reality

Two Americas By Bob Lonsberry – Dec 9, 2013
http://www.lonsberry.com/writings.cfm?story=3651&go=4

The Democrats are right, there are two Americas.

The America that works, and the America that doesn’t. The America that contributes, and the America that doesn’t.

It’s not the haves and the have nots, it’s the dos and the don’ts. Some people do their duty as Americans, to obey the law and support themselves and contribute to society, and others don’t.

That’s the divide in America.

It’s not about income inequality, it’s about civic irresponsibility. It’s about a political party that preaches hatred, greed and victimization in order to win elective office. It’s about a political party that loves power more than it loves its country.

That’s not invective, that’s truth.

And it’s about time someone said it.

The politics of envy was on proud display last week as the president said he would pledge the rest of his term to fighting “income inequality.” He notes that some people make more than other people, that some people have higher incomes than others, and he says that’s not just.

It was the rationale of thievery.

The other guy has it, you want it, Obama will take it for you.

Vote Democrat.

It is the electoral philosophy that gave us Detroit. It is the electoral philosophy that is destroying America.

And it conceals a fundamental deviation from American values and common sense. It ends up not being a benefit to the people who support it, but a betrayal. The Democrats have not empowered their followers, they have enslaved them – in a culture of dependence and entitlement, of victimhood and anger instead of ability and hope.

The president’s premise – that you reduce income inequality by debasing the successful – seeks to ignore and cheat the law of choices and consequences. It seeks to deny the successful the consequences of their choices and spare the unsuccessful the consequences of their choices.

Because, by and large, the variability in society is a result of different choices leading to different consequences. Those who choose wisely and responsibly have a far greater likelihood of success, while those who choose foolishly and irresponsibly have a far greater likelihood of failure.

And success and failure can manifest themselves in personal and family income.

You choose to drop out of high school or to skip college and you are apt to have a different outcome than someone who gets a diploma and pushes on with purposeful education. You have your children out of wedlock and life is apt to take one course, you have them in wedlock and life is apt to take another course.

Most often in life our destination is determined by the course we take.

My doctor, for example, makes far more than I do. There is significant income inequality between us. Our lives have had an inequality of outcome. But, our lives also have had an inequality of effort. Whereas my doctor went to college and then gave the flower of his young adulthood to medical school and residency, I got a job in a restaurant. He made a choice, I made a choice. And our choices led us to different outcomes.

His outcome pays a lot better than mine.

Does that mean he cheated and Barack Obama needs to take away his wealth?

No, it means we are both free men.

And in a free society, free choices will lead to different outcomes.

It is not inequality Barack Obama will take away, it is freedom.

The freedom to succeed, and the freedom to fail. And there is no true option for success if there is no true option for failure.

The pursuit of happiness means a whole lot less when you face the punitive hand of government if your pursuit brings you more happiness than the other guy.

Even if the other guy sat on his arse and did nothing.

Even if the other guy made a lifetime’s worth of asinine and shortsighted decisions.

Barack Obama and the Democrats preach equality of outcome as a right, while completely ignoring inequality of effort. The simple Law of the Harvest – as ye sow, so shall ye reap – is sometimes applied as, “The harder you work, the more you get.”

The progressive movement would turn that upside down.

Those who achieve are to be punished as enemies of society and those who fail are to be rewarded as wards of society. Entitlement has replaced effort as the key to upward mobility in American society.

Or at least it has if Barack Obama gets his way.

He seeks a lowest common denominator society in which the government besieges the successful and productive and fosters equality through mediocrity.

He and his party speak of two Americas.

And their grip on power is based on using the votes of one to sap the productivity of the other.

America is not divided by the differences in our outcomes, it is divided by the differences in our efforts. And by the false philosophy that says one man’s success comes about unavoidably as the result of another man’s victimization.

What the president offered was not a solution, but a separatism. He fomented division and strife, he pitted one set of Americans against another.

For his own political benefit.

That’s what progressives offer. Marxist class warfare wrapped up with a bow.

Two Americas, coming closer each day to proving the truth to Lincoln’s maxim that a house divided against itself cannot stand.

Republicans are smarter and more liberal

The science is settled.  Actual studies prove that Republicans, and particularly Tea Partiers, are smarter and more politically liberal than Democrats.  We’re also more generous with both our time and our money.

The new GOP Congress

2015_01 Home from Hawaii

“The days of hiding under Harry Reid’s desk are over.” Charles Krauthammer

During the past eight years of Democrat rule, Harry Reid concentrated the power of the U.S. Senate in his office.  The newly elected Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), says he is going to return to the traditional business model whereby all the Senators actually do their jobs.

Obama likes to present himself as this fearless leader, but his record of voting Present or being absent for important votes in the U.S. and Illinois Senates exposes that as a fraud.  Reid’s policy of sitting on any legislation Obama didn’t want to sign allowed the big baby to avoid taking a stand on anything.  Now that the GOP holds the majority in the House and Senate, Obama will finally have to fish or cut bait.  I expect a nervous breakdown any day now.
