I’m going to make a wild prediction:
Fox News will crush CBSNBSABCCNNMSNBCPBSCNBC. I may be wrong. I was wrong the last time I made such a prognostication. Terribly wrong. And absolutely never happier to be so. Had my prediction of Mme. Pantsuit gotten elected, I wouldn’t be sitting here doing this.
For those into industrial strength schadenfreude, turn on CNN or MSDNC for awhile and watch the bubbling cauldrons of bile being forced down by people on the verge of dementia. Drink deep their tears and be refreshed.

‘It’s been an honor’
President Obama began his final press conference on a surprising note. Despite “not liking all of the stories you’ve filed,” he told the gathered White House press corps that it’s your duty to ask “tough questions” and not be “sycophants.”
Too bad reporters were apparently not paying attention.
What followed was one softball after another, with rhetorical foot massages sandwiched between.
“Thank you, Mr. President,” each reporter began.
“It’s been an honor,” said another, before literally making the “call me” expression while pointing at her cellphone.

A reporter for The Blade, Chris Johnson, used his opportunity to ask the president a question to instead list a series of LGBT “accomplishments” Obama enjoyed during his tenure — before setting the president up to attack Trump.

He praised the press for making ‘this place work better’ in another signal to Trump, who has attacked networks and news outlets.
Invokes Jim Crow efforts to ‘restrict the franchise’ and prioritizes voting rights amid looming fight with the GOP over voter ID laws.

The number of companies announcing investment — and in many cases a return to investment — in the U.S.A. with a corresponding rush to create jobs for Americans has continued to grow even before President-elect Donald Trump takes office.
Walmart has announced that it will invest $6.8 billion in the United States and create 10,000 more jobs for Americans in stores and e-commerce, a strong response to the victory of President-elect Donald Trump.
“After [Trump’s] meeting with Bayer and Monsanto CEOs, Bayer has committed to $8 billion in new U.S. research and development. Bayer will also keep 100% of Monsanto’s 9,000 plus U.S. workforce, and add 3,000 new U.S. high-tech jobs,” incoming White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said during a press conference call.
Hyundai Motor and Kia join a growing list of automakers announcing investments in the U.S., even though they have yet to be singled out by Trump. Toyota Motor Corp., Ford Motor Co. and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV said this month they’ll spend on U.S. plants after the president-elect threatened for months to slap Mexico-built vehicles with a 35 percent import tax. Carmakers are eager to cooperate with the incoming administration as they prepare to ask for favors including weaker fuel economy rules and lower corporate taxes.
On ethical matters, a bare majority say the steps Trump and his attorney outlined last week to turn over control of his sprawling business enterprise to his children create adequate separation while he serves as president.
Obama talked about the Cubs championship meant to his staff. He noted that the last time the Cubs won the World Series Roosevelt was president along with many other historical and technological advancements that happened in the intervening century between the team’s championships. The first radio broadcast wouldn’t happen for another two decades following the 1908 victory.
