Try and sayeth THAT line three times fast!

In keeping with the Italian theme … Julius Caesar, Roman Empire? … here’s another funny from Jim Walter.

Good morning, Polinators!  It’s Grammy Buzz here, probably permanently, methinks, given how enthused Dee was about me agreeing to take over from her LOL.

What can I say? It seemed to me an excellent excuse to post über cute photos of my grandson and other items that just tweak my funny bone but don’t merit placement in my topical blog of the day.

And I’ve already garnered permission from two cartoonists I admire to use their stuff here. Up today is Terrell Aftermath with his brilliant take on the emerging “Obama Doctrine” …

California gun collector put under psychiatric observation

posted by Bob

His house also featured a secret escape tunnel. My favorite quote from the dimwit television reporter: “Wow! He has about a million machine gun bullets!” The headline referred to it as a “massive weapons cache.”

I’m skeptical about the pile of ammunition boxes and cans that they showed.  It didn’t look big enough to contain more than about 100,000 rounds, unless there was a lot of .22 rimfire ammo. However, by southern California standards, even someone owning 100,000 rounds would be considered “mentally unstable.”

Just imagine if he lived elsewhere.

In Arizona, he’d be called “an avid gun collector.”

In Texas, he’d be called “a novice gun collector.”

In Utah, he’d be called “moderately well prepared,” assuming that he also had a corresponding quantity of stored food.

In Montana, he’d be called “the neighborhood ‘go-to’ guy.”

In Idaho, he’d be called “a likely gubernatorial candidate.”

And in Wyoming, he’d be called “an eligible bachelor.”

A Story in Politics and Growing Up…

I went out to dinner last night with my husband and two kids. While we waited for our food, I played a few games on the kids’ menu with my daughter, who’s four. At one point, I lost focus and accidentally won a game (Oh no!). Well, boy could you hear from just about anywhere in the restaurant, how upset she was and how, “It’s not fair!”

I calmly explained to her that she can’t win every game and that she will just have to try again next time. That wasn’t working, and the fit continued. So, I gently informed her that I was done playing games for the night, because “I don’t like to play games with people who get angry when they lose.” Without missing a beat, she replied, “Well, I don’t like to play games with people who win!”

I’m ready to register her with the Democrat party.

Or…maybe I’ll sign her up with the Wisconsin teachers’ union.

You see, as we grow and mature, we realize that there are better ways to handle our disagreements and differences. It’s just too bad that there are sooooo many adults who insist on acting like children. I get enough of that at home…really!

Take a stroll along our Garden Paths today and enjoy the cornucopia of enlightening stories available to read and share. And don’t forget to drop off your news and tidbits here in our own little corner garden.

Me?? I’m going to stop and smell the roses…

Harlequin Romance, 2011 Version

posted by Ting
He grasped me firmly, but gently, just above my elbow and guided me into a room, his room. Then he quietly shut the door and we were alone. He approached me soundlessly, from behind, and spoke in a low, reassuring voice close to my ear.”Just relax.”
Without warning, he reached down and I felt his strong, calloused hands start at my ankles, gently probing, and moving upward along my calves, slowly but steadily. My breath caught in my throat.
I knew I should be afraid, but somehow I didn’t care. His touch was so experienced, so sure. When his hands moved up onto my thighs, I gave a slight shudder, and partly closed my eyes. My pulse was pounding. I felt his knowing fingers caress my abdomen, my ribcage. And then, as he cupped my firm, full breasts in his hands, I inhaled sharply.
Probing, searching, knowing what he wanted, he brought his hands to my shoulders, slid them down my tingling spine and into my panties. Although I knew nothing about this man, I felt oddly trusting and expectant. This is a man, I thought. A man used to taking charge. A man not used to taking ˜No” for an answer. A man who would tell me what he wanted. A man who would look into my soul and say . . . Continue reading

Welcome!

It looks like it’s going to be another spring-like day in the middle of the country.  What’s going on in your neck of the woods?

And now, a literary contribution from my darling husband:

There once were some teachers on strike
About whom was much to dislike
Their lawmaker allies
Have fled under night skies
And the protesters think it’s the Third Reich

😀

Happy Posting!
