OK–anybody write a check the last two days and date it 2013? Bueller? Bueller?
I’m still having to check to see what day of the week it is. We’re buried in snow around here, the city and county are doing an abominable job plowing and it’s supposed to be below zero for the next few days. We’ll get through it,though. We always do.

Thought I’d throw a few things together. Enjoyed the replay of the Willie and Korie Robertson interview on Fox from last night. Unfortunately,I missed the two gay guys getting married on a float during the Rose Parade that was broadcast on several channels. The Encore Western Channel is running a Bat Masterson marathon starring Gene Barry all day today. Oh,well…life is full of disappointments. Thought I’d post a few things you might have missed while you were celebrating.

Is this a mistake?Give us the damn money!

On December 9, 2013, Starbucks’ lawyer sent Missouri brewer Jeff Britton a cease-and-desist letter. The beer, I mean bone of contention was the micro-brewer’s use of the name “Frappicino” to describe a vanilla creme ale he was serving at his brewpub, Exit 6.
Britton wrote a very apologetic (and funny) letter, enclosing a check for $6.00 to cover the total profits he had made from selling that particular beverage, which (to avoid confusion), he called “F Word” in his letter. Britton then renamed the brew “F Word” and notes that it has become a big seller for Exit 6.
Both letters are posted at Scribd. It’s worth it to go read them. The brewer’s letter to “Mr. Star” is HYSTERICAL.

Had oldest daughter and her hubby and 4 kids over Saturday. It had been a long time since I had to feed young ‘uns. We ordered two x-large pizzas for supper, the four adults each had two pieces. The 4 chirrens, aged 8-12 descended on the rest like a swarm of grasshoppers in a wheat field. They left nothing but crumbs. DD said:’Try feeding this bunch every day.’ I politely begged off and gave thanks there’s just DW and I to worry about.
We have a big New Years Eve celebration planned: our annual steak dinner at a nice restaurant,no alcohol, home by 7:00 and in bed shortly after, since I work every morning. Then I will be left to ponder knowingly breaking the law for not signing up for O-care.I’m sure there’s other new laws I’m running afoul of. Oh,well.

There has been little news about Barry for over a week. When he says he doesn’t want to be disturbed while he’s kickin’ it,he don’t get disturbed. He’s just played a lot of golf and eaten food I could never afford. If something DID happen,he’d just put on a shirt and jacket, read some crap off the teleprompter and sound sincere and the media would swoon how he has such control over everything.

It’s times like this I wish I could pull quotes and put in bold type and all the other things CtH can do. I’ll just do the best I can.
Here’s their statement:
Our values are centered around creativity, inclusion and mutual respect. We believe it is a privilege for our brands to be invited into people’s home and we operate with a strong sense of integrity and deep commitment to these principals.
That is why we reacted so quickly and strongly to a recent interview with Phil Robertson. While Phil’s comments made in the interview reflect his personal views based on his own beliefs, and his own personal journey, he and his family have publicly stated they regret the “coarse language” he used and the mis-interpretation of his core beliefs based only on the article. He also made it clear he would “never incite or encourage hate.” We at A&E Networks expressed our disappointment with his statements in the article, and reiterate that they are not views we hold.
But Duck Dynasty is not a show about one man’s views. It resonates with a large audience because it is a show about family… a family that America has come to love. As you might have seen in many episodes, they come together to reflect and pray for unity, tolerance and forgiveness. These are three values that we at A+E Networks also feel strongly about.
So after discussions with the Robertson family, as well as consulting with numerous advocacy groups, A&E has decided to resume filming Duck Dynasty later this spring with the entire Robertson family.
We will also use this moment to launch a national public service campaign (PSA) promoting unity, tolerance and acceptance among all people, a message that supports our core values as a company, and the values found in Duck Dynasty. These PSAs will air across our entire portfolio.
Translation:we’re not about to throw away hundreds of millions of dollars to mollify a bunch of rump rangers.

Never satisfied,the jock-sniffers released their so-angry-I-could-just-spit response:
Text of GLAAD’s response: “Phil Robertson should look African American and gay people in the eyes and hear about the hurtful impact of praising Jim Crow laws and comparing gay people to terrorists. If dialogue with Phil is not part of next steps then A+E has chosen profits over African American and gay people – especially its employees and viewers.”
Notice they had to include the Homies. Even though blacks could care less.
Human Rights Campaign assured ‘Duck Dynasty’ family will work with LGBT groups
THIS IS FROM TWITCHY; I WISH I COULD SHOW SOME OF THESE TWEETS… THEY’RE REALLY FUNNY. I’M INCLUDING LINK AT THE BOTTOM
DOES THIS GUY LOOK LIKE HE NEEDS SENSITIVITY TRAINING??

It didn’t take very long for A&E to find out that people of faith went way beyond the Bible belt. In any confrontation,it’s always paramount to know your opponent. The network never dreamed that the Robertsons would not hesitate to walk away from the show because money is not their sole motivating factor,as it is with most liberals. They also do not see that we’ve been mocked, ridiculed and demeaned for as long as we’re going to. The network may already have done irreparable harm to their brand after the ‘indefinite suspension’ of Phil Robertson which lasted all of 8 days.

This is his class photo from his sophomore year at La. Tech..in 1967

Hope everybody had a wonderful and blessed Christmas. Ours was excellent, though I must confess I’m glad its over for another year. As usual,DW put on an awesome meal and the little ones had fun sledding on the big hill behind our house. I watched them through the sliders and tried to remember when I had that much energy.
Just had to post a few things to keep in shape.
This is our oldest granddaughter,Jessica. She’s 18 and turned into quite a lady. Whenever the family gets together Miss Olivia attatches herself to Jess like a lamprey eel on a shark. Olivia is a bigger ham than the one we enjoyed for dinner.
This is DW with the electric scent machine she got.
My favorite gift…a cup with a picture of my little ones that says:love you papa. I’ll treasure this long after they’ve grown up.
