Summer Fun… Day One

It has begun. It started with a last gasp coup attempt which failed miserably and ended with the media managing to concentrate on parts of Melania Trump’s speech replicating what the Ghetto Queen read off a teleprompter in 2008. Rather than cover the positive, uplifting messages of hope for the country, they stuck to their well-worn ad hominem attacks just to distract from the fact Obama and Lying Hillary are to blame for a great many of the issues we face.

Respecting your limited time I am posting mostly clips of speeches by some of the people yesterday so you can pick and choose what you want to see. The clip I would urge you to see is Pat Smith, whose son was killed along with Chris Stevens early on in the Benghazi massacre, and especially that steaming pile of sewage, Pissy Chrissy Matthews, who did not hide his venality at anyone who dared criticize the queen-in-waiting. It is truly horrendous.

There are a number of really good speeches, particularly Lone Survivor Marcus Luttrell, and any are well worth the few minutes to watch.

Trump has seized on the instability, casting recent events as a direct result of failed leadership by President Barack Obama and by Clinton, who spent four years in the administration as secretary of state. But Trump has been vague about how he would put the nation on a different course, offering virtually no details of his policy prescriptions despite repeated vows to be tough.

The Republican National Convention begins today. It promises to be a far cry from anything we’ve seen in the past. What transpires inside the convention hall will get little notice unless you watch C-Span. There will be a roster of speakers after which Donald Trump and Mike Pence will claim the nomination to run against the Clinton Crime Family and the Democrat fraud machine. Most of the networks’ attention will doubtless be focused on the hell being raised by the professional agitators and the amateur rabble being bussed in to create as much violence as possible, all being blamed on republicans.

A Beautiful Great Lakes Musky with a Message

Gruntington Post [Pentwater, Michigan] – Due to the overwhelming gloom that seemed to be gripping Americans around the normally happy time of the 4th of July week, the staff here at the Gruntington Post took it upon themselves to travel to the north woods in the Great Lakes region to find remnants of a cheerful America.  Of course, we had to purposely avoid vast areas of the lake country that are infested with Democrats, like the entire State of Minnesota.  Luckily, there are still lake beach communities around Lake Michigan that are majority Republican (and hence, happy, prosperous places) because they are populated by conservative refugees from the cities of Detroit and Chicago and Green Bay.

We ended up in the small coastal town of Pentwater, Michigan, mainly because that’s where we blew out a clutch on the Gruntmobile.  Unfortunately, getting your 15 year old Toyota Corolla repaired in the lower peninsula of Michigan is not always a friendly experience, this still being Ford, Dodge and Chevy country, after all.

Still, it only goes to show you the lengths of sacrifice that we are willing to accept in order to bring the real story to our readers.  As you can see in the photo below of the deck at Gull Landing on Pentwater Harbor, we spent our downtime vigorously researching the local culture.  We left no local blues band unheard, no fried walleye platter uneaten and no extra-tall mojito undrunk in the service of our readers.

Also, we faced considerable danger on a daily basis from the freshwater sharks that infest the waters of Lake Michigan.  This was necessary to experience the local flora and fauna and the unique character of the local brews that the natives there carry onto the beaches in rectangular boxes called “coolers.”  We found it all very intoxicating.

After a while, all we could do is lay on the beach and stare up at the sky at the clouds.  I obsessed on this cloud for a while(below) because it looked, to me, like a T-bone steak.  But that might have been the beer toxicity kicking in.

We noticed that the locals along this part of the freshwater coast do a lot of boating in a variety of watercraft.  Many keep fit paddling long indian boats that the locals call “canoes” or “kayaks,” like the guy in the center of the photo below, and we did a fair amount of that, ourselves, until it became obvious that it was a lot of work.  A few mojitos later, and that pain was all a distant memory.

And what of the local politics?  We spent some time talking to locals, especially the mechanic who fixes all the local vehicles in town, it being too isolated here to have any large garages or dealerships.  Bruce and Nancy Maynard run their 3-bay auto shop at the edge of Pentwater, and they were good enough to take on our clutch job, even though it meant working the Saturday after the 4th to get us back on the road.  Bruce is an amazing master mechanic, a Vietnam veteran and a brilliant raconteur who spent 20 years running a shop near Aspen Colorado and worked on all the vehicles of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band while he was there.  He had the Colorado license plate and other paraphernalia on the wall of his shop to prove it.  He also took very good care of us.

I expected the area to be Mitt Romney country, and for it to be possibly hostile to Trump for that reason.  According to Bruce, that probably isn’t true at all.  He seemed to think there was a lot of openness to Trump as a candidate, and there was especially an enormous amount of hostility toward Hillary Clinton.  That was music to my ears, as you can imagine.

Our Landlord for the Week Likes Trump Resorts. Interesting…

The conclusion?  Small town America still rocks in the month of July.  It’s good for the soul.  You should give it a try, if only for a week.  The rental rates in this part of the Great Lakes were surprisingly low, I thought, and were certainly much lower than comparable places in Florida, Gulf Coast or Mexico.

After the events of yesterday, this is the obligatory post about the latest massacre of innocents by the filthy scum who foment violence as their forebears once transmitted the plague that wiped out 1/3 of Europe.

In their feckless naïveté, France, Germany, and much of the continent welcomed in millions of these rabid curs, who totally rejected the law of the land while demanding the host of these parasites respect Sharia. London even recently elected one of these slimy bastards as mayor. They just don’t get it. What’s worse is that the closet Muzzie who laughingly calls himself the president plans to scoop up tens of thousands more before he slips away and his presumed successor wants to bring in another million during her first term.

There’s no need to go into the details, everybody already knows them. He was a Tunisian Muslim “migrant” named Mohammed. At last count he left 84 dead and 202 wounded. Read the headline and it was plain what kind of mutant would commit such an atrocity. All the candlelight vigils, colored lights, prayers and calls for “understanding” are worth nothing. The only thing they understand or fear is sheer force. Brutality meted out in greater measure than it is given. The current world leadership, spearheaded by a phony who wears his love for Islam on his sleeve is incapable of what must be done. With the possible exception of Russia and China, most countries wait for America to be the world’s policeman. First we have to have a leader with a full set of balls.

Mrs. Rush began receiving checks for “consulting services” in 2008 on top of salary and wages as she pulled in $98,650 from the committee. This amount equated to more than a quarter of the campaign’s total operating expenditures this cycle.

Mrs. Rush’s payments increased again in 2010 to $119,400. She was paid $148,000 in 2012. She took in $66,000 in 2014.

To the surprise of absolutely no one of reasonable intelligence, FBI director James Comey, either bought off, scared off, or complicit in the whole tawdry criminal empire that is the Clinton cabal, today announced that even though crimes were committed there would be no charges filed against She Who Will Not Be Denied. Her three hour ‘interview’ with the FBI this weekend was nothing but a charade, as has been her entire political career.

Good question: why is Hillary Clinton using Air Force One on the campaign trail?

Today the President of the United States will be in North Carolina, but it’s not for some sort of domestic economic summit or an official meeting with the governor. He’s going there to campaign on the 2016 election trail, and he’ll be giving his friend Hillary Clinton a lift in Air Force One. This is rising the usual questions among quite a few people, including Clinton’s opponent, Donald Trump. (CNN)
Well, the “who pays” question is already a known issue. Since this isn’t an official White House business trip, but rather a specific campaign stop, the public doesn’t foot all of the bill. Clinton’s campaign will have to reimburse the taxpayers for a portion of the expenses, but it’s only a drop in the bucket. As the CNN report indicates, they will likely be billed at a rate comparable to booking passage on a private jet. That cost, however, will be minuscule compared to the actual expense of operating the President’s airplane, which clocks in at nearly a quarter million dollars per hour.

ANYBODY WANNA GUESS WHAT LYNCH’S MEETING WITH BEN T. PENIS WAS ABOUT LAST WEEK?
The story is certain to be interpreted by some as an attempt by unknown Clinton associates to influence the Justice Department decision about whether to indict Clinton for possible crimes related to her use of a private email server while secretary of state. Lynch has indicated she would accept the recommendation of the FBI and career DOJ officials in the matter, but she has not formally recused herself from the case.
