As inevitable as death and taxes, the slimiest, greediest, most immoral, power-hungry couple in the history of American politics are back to help themselves to more of our money and freedom. Like a fatal automobile crash you pass on the highway, you just can’t look away. There are a few other things in the news, but, of course, the disaster that the left mocks and fears and the right simply despises is upon us.

It’s been reported many times that protecting Hillary Clinton is the most hated job in the U.S. Secret Service. Kate Andersen Brower, in her book, “Residence: Inside the Private World of the White House,” gives us more detail into exactly why that is. In the excerpts she published just yesterday in Politico, it seems even first daughter Chelsea got into the act of mistreating her protectors:

One day, according to Payne, he was walking through the second-floor private kitchen when an agent walked in behind him waiting to escort Chelsea to Sidwell Friends, the private school she attended in northwest Washington. Chelsea was on the phone.

“Oh, I’ve got to go,” she told her friend. “The pigs are here.”

The agent turned “crimson,” Payne recalls. “Ms. Clinton, I want to tell you something. My job is to stand between you, your family, and a bullet. Do you understand?”

She replied: “Well, that’s what my mother and father call you.”

NO SHAME IN HER GAME: HILLARY HANDS OUT JOURNALISM PRIZE

Hillary Clinton presenting a journalism award is something like Scott Walker presenting the prize for the best AFSCME chapter. But neither she nor her hosts seemed the slightest bit embarrassed. They should have been. Having a Democratic frontrunner who is currently embroiled in a scandal involving her unprecedented efforts to conceal her activities as a cabinet official handing out the hardware and taking no questions should have been impossibly awkward. Instead, it provides a good indication of the level of scrutiny to which Clinton can expect to be subject in her campaign. She joked (or was it taunted?), “‘I am all about new beginnings: a new grandchild, another new hairstyle, a new email account.” Haw, haw. There are nearly unending questions, many of them fresh, about Clinton’s private server and her destruction of tens of thousands of emails from her time as secretary of state. Clinton is taking the final steps before the public launch of her second presidential campaign in the midst of stonewalling the press, but no one seemed to mind.
