Sept 22 at Rasmussen

Rasmussen is running regular Obama vs. Romney polls nationally and in 11 key states won by Obama in 2008 and thought to be competitive in 2012. These states collectively hold 146 Electoral College votes.

In 2008, Obama won these states (Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin) by a combined margin of 53% to 46%, virtually identical to his national margin.

September 22, 2012: After modest post-convention bounces for both candidates, the race is now back to where it was at the beginning of the month. Numbers include Leaners, those who initially say they are uncommitted but who lean towards one of the candidates when asked a follow-up question.

Snark and Spittle-Spew

The previous Leftist spittle-spewing meme was that Romney was a tax cheat who doesn’t pay his fair share!

We, of course, knew this was 100% true, because Harry Reid had an anonymous source. And because Romney had not yet released his tax returns.

Today, Romney released his tax returns. The Left is now spittle-spewing that Romney is EVIL, because he paid a higher tax rate than he was legally required to do. The dirtbag!

In other news, the kind you won’t hear from the Alphabet Media, Mitt and Ann gave MORE than $4 MILLION to CHARITY last year; Harry Reid’s anonymous source is still unavailable for comment; and the Obamas have not yet released their tax returns.

The former Executive Director of the Florida Democratic Party has publicly renounced Obama and thrown his support behind Romney. Barney Bishop published an op-ed encouraging other Democrats to put aside party loyalty for the sake of the nation:

In every challenge that faces our nation, Obama sees a solution that can only come with another government-spending program. He fails to harness the ingenuity of entrepreneurs; instead he actually places obstacles, like burdensome regulation, in front of their path to progress.

[Obama’s] attacks on the work Mitt Romney did in private equity demonstrates a dangerous lack of understanding how important risk-taking investors are in the U.S. economy.

[Unlike Obama], Romney has a plan for cutting and capping the government’s spending to bring us balanced budgets. He gets that job creators need less regulation and stable tax policy in order to invest and grow.

It’s not about love

The debt limit is the total amount the government can borrow to finance its operations. For years, the big spending bozos we elected to our highest offices in Washington have been wooing voters with goodies they buy with borrowed money that WE have to pay back with interest!

Under Obama’s failed leadership, our national debt has been increased by $5 trillion in just four years. That is more than double the rate the debt increased under Bush, something Senator Obama correctly called a sign of failed leadership.

As a nation, we now owe more than we produce in a year! Hello, voters! When are you going to WAKE UP and realize all this borrowing and spending is NOT ABOUT LOVE.

Think of it this way. You would be thrilled if your significant other bought you something BIG, something you really wanted, right? Say an engagement ring or a big screen t.v. or a new car.

How would you feel about that person’s alleged GIFT if you found out that it had been purchased with YOUR credit card and that you were now on the hook for more than you make in a whole year?

Politicians always seem to sound fiscally responsible when their party is not in the majority (e.g., Barack Obama in 2006) or when they’re running for office (e.g., Barack Obama now). But for some of them, it’s just an act. As soon as they have the power, they spend OUR money and tell us it’s a sign of how much they CARE.

Baloney. Before you vote this year, consider not what these people SAY they WILL do, but what they have ALREADY DONE. Like Obama, who made a lot of sense in 2006, then doubled down on the irresponsible spending once he had the power to do so. Or Romney, who took over a financially and morally bankrupt Olympics and turned it into a successful celebration of sport.

You will be hard-pressed to find a news program on television or radio today that does not lead with the secret video allegedly taped by Jimmuh Carters grandson for Mother Jones and released yesterday.It was from a private fundraiser in May when Romney referred to welfare parasites as what they are….welfare parasites.The carrion crows in the press will leave not a scrap of flesh on these bones as they set about picking it clean.The liberals are dancing in the streets shouting ‘Obama just won the election!’

I think reports of Romney’s demise may be slightly exaggerated.He needs to point out that Obama has shown nothing but contempt for the 53% who are providing for the 47%.He needs to stop being so reactive and start being proactive.If he lets Obama’s surrogates dictate the terms,he is in deep trouble.

In other news,yesterday was the first anniversary of OWS.There were plans by some to dress in suits to try to infiltrate corporate offices,but it didn’t work too well.Being as how thy never wore a necktie,they tied them around their heads like a headband.They also used marijuana sprigs in their lapels as a boutonniere and rubber flipflops don’t go well with a herringbone suit.

Okay, so I never actually wished to witness a level of incompetence from the Obama administration that would shock me; I just thought that such a feat would be impossible at this point. Lo and behold, there I found myself on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, in a rage-induced fit of tears over not only the atrocities committed in Egypt and Libya, but also the appalling game of “Let’s Pretend” that followed:

Let’s pretend that the longtime influence of Jeremiah “God Damn America” Wright has nothing whatsoever to do with President Obama’s worldview.

Let’s pretend that the “Arab Spring” was a movement to envelope the Arab world in pink hearts and fluffy little bunny rabbits.

Let’s pretend that Mitt Romney stepping up to fill a leadership vacuum is an egregious breach of protocol.

Let’s pretend that Romney’s condemnation of both the attacks and our embassy’s feckless apology is “politicizing death,” and that President Obama literally using those deaths to rally his campaign volunteers in Nevada is entirely appropriate.

Let’s pretend that President Barack “The Police Acted Stupidly” Obama has any business being on a high horse called My Opponent Spoke Too Soon.

Let’s pretend that the date of the embassy attacks was entirely coincidental, and that all Muslims are like Pavlovian killer bees who will simply go on a rampage when provoked, because they’re too stupid to know better.

For all the media criticism of Mitt Romney since Tuesday, you’d think that it was he, and not Barack Obama, who went to sleep while his own ambassador was murdered in Benghazi …

The White House has seized on the lame excuse of blaming 20 Middle East countries in flames over a stupid movie.The Libyan President has said the attacks were months in planning.McLame said protesters don’t bring RPG’s and heavy weapons to a demonstration.No matter,Obamao will use any excuse to defer blame from his disastrous  foreign policy.Of course,the media will dutifully report anything he says as gospel.We all see what’s going on and it’s so frustrating to watch him get away with it.The Obama regime and the state department have circled the wagons and will take no more questions on why they took no action when reports said they were warned up to three months before the planned attacks to comemmorate 9/11.

Madame pantsuit personally ordered no Marine security for the Libyan embassy,but Valerie Rasputin received full Secret Service protection for her vacation to Martha’s Vineyard last week.

The Chicago teacher’s union got a new proposal late last week.Moby Dickless said they had to have 2 days to look it over.Apparently they had to find a kid who was educated in private school to read it to them.Yesterday they summarily rejected the proposal and Tiny Dancer is threatening to go to court to order them back to work.I heard an audio this morning from Karen Lewis saying ‘the elephant in the room is the closing of 200 schools.’ I always thought the elephant in the room was that brown behemoth.

It seems Romney is in a difficult position.Republicans want him to define what his plans would be as president and the administration sits on its hands waiting for their media lapdogs to shred anything he says to detract from this epic failure.Polls go up and down but it seems some repubs are panicking because they think obama should be dead and buried by now.

In Wisconsin the libs found a sympathetic judge in Madison to rule the collective bargaining rights law was unconstitutional.Of course,this will be overruled,but they never quit.They are fighting to get the voter ID law overturned,but the SOS said they would enforce it anyway.

This is being posted late because our power went out about 7AM as I was in the middle of typing this and just came back on 4 hours later.Oh,well.Caught up on some reading anyway.

Lions and Tigers and Rich People, Oh My!

In late June, 2012, Obama sent out a fundraising email predicting Rich Republicans would buy the White House for Mitt Romney.

“We can be outspent and still win — but we can’t be outspent 10 to 1 and still win,” Obama said.

That’s such a crock! As of today (Sept 15, 2012), the Obama campaign has spent MORE THAN DOUBLE what the Romney campaign has spent. When other spending (e.g., PACs) is added in, Republican spending has exceeded Democrat by less than 3% and that INCLUDES all the money that went toward Romney’s primary battles.

Another item for my Juvenile Fundraisers list.

At 8:45 AM, the President and the First Lady observed a moment of silence to mark the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, then they went to the Pentagon Memorial 9/11 ceremony. In the afternoon, the President visited Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. At 5:00 PM, the President and the Vice President met with Secretary of Defense.

Meanwhile …

Armed Muslim extremists attacked and burned our consulate in Benghazi, Libya, murdering our Ambassador and three security guards. Our State Department responded with apologies to the attackers for whatever we did that made them so mad at us. The Libyan government and citizenry apologized to the United States for the attack. Romney condemned the attack and the State Department’s apologies. The Obama campaign condemned Romney. Obama said nothing.

The White House let us know that Obama will be Much Too Busy to meet with the Israeli Prime Minister when Netanyahu visits the U.S. later this month, but that Barack will be squeezing an appearance on David Letterman into his “busy” schedule.

Last month, Obama arranged a meeting with Egyptian President Mohammad Morsi for later this month. Morsi is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood whose motto is, “Allah is our objective; the Quran is our law, the Prophet is our leader; Jihad is our way; and death for the sake of Allah is the highest of our aspirations.” Its most famous slogan, used worldwide, is “Islam is the solution.”

In the morning, the President and the Vice President received the ONE AND ONLY Presidential Daily Briefing of the entire tumultuous week. It lasted all of THIRTY MINUTES.

Then, he and the First Lady welcomed the 2012 U.S. Olympic and Paralympic teams to the White House.

In the afternoon, Obama went to attend the Transfer of Remains Ceremony to the United States of the remains of the four Americans killed this week in Benghazi, Libya.

In the evening, he went a campaign event.

Obama hearts Palestine, hates Israel

January 2009: Just days after he became President, Barack Obama chose to grant his first public interview to Al-Arabiya, a leading worldwide Arab satellite channel based in Dubai. In the interview, he assured Muslims that America was not an enemy.

November 2009: The White House released a photo of Obama talking on the phone to Prime Minister Netanyahu from the Oval Office. It shows him sitting back, with his feet up on the Resolute Desk; the photographer was in front of the desk, making the most prominent feature of the photo the soles of Obama’s shoes.

March 19, 2012: The White House released a photo of President Obama talking on the phone with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas from the Oval Office. It shows him sitting up straight, shoes totally out of sight.

In Middle Eastern cultures, it is a serious offense to show the soles of your shoes to someone. This is why that journalist threw shoes at President Bush and the heavy media coverage of that insult ensured that the insult Obama sent Israel with these photos was not only understood in the Middle East, but here as well.

May 2011: The White House released photos of Obama’s Oval Office meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in which Obama’s anger and loathing for the Israeli leader are readily apparent.

July 29, 2012: During his visit to Israel, Mitt Romney publicly referred to Jerusalem as “the capital of Israel.” Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said,

Mitt, I want to thank you for those very strong words of support and friendship for Israel and for Jerusalem that we heard today in your speech by the walls of Jerusalem. Jerusalem today is marking the destruction of the city thousands of years ago. As you see it’s been rebuilt by the Jewish people, open to all the three great faiths, vibrant, bustling, and as you said, Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, and Jerusalem will always be the capital of Israel. So welcome to Jerusalem, Mitt. [emphasis added by CtH]

Netanyahu and his wife Sara then had the Romneys over for dinner.

September 2, 2012: The Pentagon basically pulled out of a joint military exercise with Israel that had been scheduled for next month. A senior member of Israel’s security cabinet said,

This is the Obama administration’s response to the dinner party Netanyahu held in (Mitt) Romney’s honor. … There is no doubt that President Barack Obama, if he is reelected, will make Netanyahu pay.
