My grandfather and I often had philosophical arguments.
When I proved I was right he’d say: ‘A broken clock is right twice a day.You got a ways to go.’
My grandfather was not a compassionate man.
The day before the inauguration I predicted that Fox News would crush the ratings for all the alphabet networks.
Turned out that was a sucker bet.
Inauguration Day ratings: Fox triples CNN, MSNBC combined
Fox News dominated Inauguration Day on the ratings front, delivering 11.76 million total viewers during President Trump’s address compared to CNN’s 3.375 million and MSNBC’s 1.487 million.
In the key 25-54 demographic advertisers covet most, Fox more than tripled CNN and MSNBC combined, according to Nielsen Research.
From noon to 12:30 p.m. during the oath and inaugural address portions of the coverage, Fox averaged 2.99 million viewers to CNN’s 521,000 and MSNBC’s 315,000.
I missed Meet The Press today, it interfered with Encore Western Channel’s tribute to Clint Eastwood. At least I have my priorities right.
Kellyanne Conway was on with F. Chuck Todd and set him straight. The Trump Administration won’t play the media’s game of defending itself against every liberal lie. We’ve been waiting a very long time for somebody with a spine to stop playing patty-cake with these braying jackasses.
Todd asked, “I’m curious why president Trump chose yesterday to send out his press secretary to essentially litigate a provable falsehood when it comes to a small and petty thing like inaugural crowd size. My question to you is why do that?
Conway said “Chuck, if we’re going to keep referring to our press secretary in those types of terms, I think we are going to have to rethink our relationship here. I want a great open relationship with our press.”
She added that Spicer gave the press “alternative facts” to the press to correct the record.
“Alternative facts are not facts. They are falsehoods,” shot back Todd.
Conway then cited the failed agenda of Barack Obama, with the loss of health insurance for millions of Americans, the 16.1 million women still living in poverty, and the billions spent of education that has done next to nothing to improve standards or conditions. That’s what Conway and this administration want the press to focus on since Obama’s failure is the reason they’re occupying the White House.
THE OLD BOSS: THE ONLY THING DIFFERENT IS THAT HE CAN DO NO MORE HARM
•The 44th president was up at 9am Pacific time for a trip to a country club’s gym
•It was near the Rancho Mirage, CA, home where he and Michelle are staying with friends for a two-week vacation.
•He was pictured in a Secret Service SUV leaving the private community of Thunderbird Heights and heading to the country club for a workout.
•Beside him in the SUV was his host James Costos, who was the ex-president’s ambassador to Spain.
•Then he went out to play golf at Porcupine Creek, a course owned by Oracle billionaire Larry Ellison.
•Former first couple’s final trip on the presidential flight was extended when it could not land at Palm Springs because of bad weather conditions. Fiesta De Pijamas … At My Spanish Ambassador’s Crib
YOU DIDN’T THINK HE’D ACTUALLY PAY FOR ANYTHING, DID YOU?
HE’S LIKE A GUY WHO USES A PROSTITUTE AND SOMEBODY ELSE PAYS FOR IT. The house is in Rancho Mirage, near Palm Springs, inside the Thunderbird Heights gated community … perched at the top of the development and spread over 8 acres. It’s been completely gutted and renovated since 2011 … and looks brand spanking new. The Obamas have stayed at James and Michael’s home 4 times prior to this visit.
As Donald and Melania Trump arrived for President Trump’s Inauguration, Melania Trump handed Michelle Obama a large, blue Tiffany’s box. Something that every woman in the world adores. Mooch… not so much. Leave it to Michelle Obama to look disdainful over an elegant gift from a woman that makes her look incredibly unfeminine. Mooch looked like she couldn’t get rid of the box fast enough, as if it were a bomb. Then she acted like she wanted to wipe her hands. Tres rude and totally in keeping with Michelle’s winning style.

Trump Plans to Eliminate NEA, NEH, Cut Spending by $10.5 Trillion
The National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities would be eliminated, according to a new report on the administration’s spending priorities published by the Hill.
Both arts agencies have budgets of roughly $147 million. The NEA awards millions of dollars worth of grants for art projects each year, which have included plays about assassinating Christopher Columbus, food stamps, and gun-control activist lesbians, climate change poetry, and “Doggie Hamlet.”

President Donald Trump Will Sign Executive Order Sunday to Defund International Planned Parenthood
Most pro-life Americans are anxiously awaiting Congress to pass a bill to defund the Planned Parenthood abortion business. While that defunding legislation concerns the domestic-based Planned Parenthood abortion corporation, President Trump has the ability to put in place an executive order that would revoke funding for its international affiliate.
When pro-abortion former President Barack Obama took office, Obama overturned a policy that prevented funding of groups that promote or perform abortions overseas. The Mexico City Policy covered over $400 million in federal funds, part of which flowed to the abortion businesses International Planned Parenthood and Marie Stopes International for their foreign efforts.
Trump Says NAFTA Renegotiations Are Set To Begin
The president seems keen on fulfilling this campaign promise to renegotiate current trade deals. A plan on the White House website says the U.S. will withdraw from the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), and that President Trump plans on renegotiating the North American Free Trade Alliance, NAFTA, enacted under President Bill Clinton.
President Trump spoke with both Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto Saturday. Leaders from both countries have expressed a willingness to renegotiate NAFTA.
I’m going to make a wild prediction: Fox News will crush CBSNBSABCCNNMSNBCPBSCNBC. I may be wrong. I was wrong the last time I made such a prognostication. Terribly wrong. And absolutely never happier to be so. Had my prediction of Mme. Pantsuit gotten elected, I wouldn’t be sitting here doing this.
For those into industrial strength schadenfreude, turn on CNN or MSDNC for awhile and watch the bubbling cauldrons of bile being forced down by people on the verge of dementia. Drink deep their tears and be refreshed.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.) refused to shake the hand of Betsy DeVos, President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee to head the Department of Education, following a contentious Senate confirmation hearing on Tuesday.
‘It’s been an honor’ President Obama began his final press conference on a surprising note. Despite “not liking all of the stories you’ve filed,” he told the gathered White House press corps that it’s your duty to ask “tough questions” and not be “sycophants.”
Too bad reporters were apparently not paying attention.
What followed was one softball after another, with rhetorical foot massages sandwiched between.
“Thank you, Mr. President,” each reporter began.
“It’s been an honor,” said another, before literally making the “call me” expression while pointing at her cellphone.
[CtH: GAG ME!!]
A reporter for The Blade, Chris Johnson, used his opportunity to ask the president a question to instead list a series of LGBT “accomplishments” Obama enjoyed during his tenure — before setting the president up to attack Trump.
There’s a rumor going around that the Trump White House wants to evict the White House press corps.
But incoming Press Secretary Sean Spicer said that’s wrong. What they want to do is find a bigger work space so more members of the press can participate.
“The current briefing room only has 49 seats so we have looked at rooms within the White House to conduct briefings that have additional capacity to accommodate members of media including talk radio, bloggers and others.”
But no decisions have been made.
As for CNN’s bleating about being mistreated by Trump … pshaw!
Spicer noted that they received 600 requests for press credential to the Jan 11, 2017, Trump presser.
Just under 350 credentials were issued andCNN got EIGHT seats, all front and center!
Plus, at the time Acosta was loudly demanding Trump call on him, CNN had already been granted a question. So all their bleating about Trump shutting out CNN is a load of crap.
And, it is clear from the video of the Trump-Acosta exchange that Acosta was rude, disrespectful, and egregiously inappropriate. It’s really rich at the end when Mr. “Pot” Acosta complains that Trump calling CNN “fake news” was “inappropriate.” ::snort::
Trump crushes destroys Jim Acosta CNN shut down! [:35]
Spicer’s interview on Tucker Carlson’s show is worth watching. I love Carlson’s depiction of the “puffy, backlit” interviews Obama has done with his slobbering fans. Also fun is the Twitter Storm “social media weather” report at the end.
SEAN SPICER FULL EXPLOSIVE INTERVIEW WITH TUCKER CARLSON (1/11/2017) [9:40]
And while I’m on a “sneer at the MSM” roll, let me share the DUMBEST CARTOON of the MONTH.If airplane pilots ignore reality, they and their passengers die. But when leftist media shills ignore reality, they get promoted. So yeah. NOT the same thing at all. ::eyesrollingsohardtheyhurt::
I was unable to verify Spicer’s claim that CNN had already gotten to ask a question, because the transcripts I found on-line failed to identify questioners either by name or by news organization.
With a mere five days until we are liberated from the Obama reign of terror, there is still so much going on it’s a full time job keeping up with everything. There is one constant in life … that is that Democrats act like thugs when they don’t get their own way.
The left and the media (redundant) have never dealt with someone who is strong-willed, owing to no one and won’t take shit from anybody. The attacks started some time ago and will last as long as he’s president. Anything he’s for, they’re against. If it benefits people, it makes no difference.
Democrats are using the acid-tongued phony civil rights icon, John Lewis, as an excuse to skip the inauguration. Every wacko in the country is going to attempt to disrupt the ceremony, something Republicans would never dream of doing. They have manners.
Tarbaby Sharpton, the has-been race hustler made an attempt Saturday to be relevant temporarily when an MLK march turned into an anti-Trump rally.
Bikers for Trump, a group of motorcycle enthusiasts, will likely be toeing the line with protesters, who are also expected to be at the event. “The bikers are certainly used to being outnumbered and we are prepared to form a wall of meat,” Chris Cox, the founder of the organization, told the FOX Business Network.
Everybody has seen tape of Trump bitch-slapping the obnoxious gasbag from CNN, Jim Acosta. Here’s something you may not have known. It remains to be seen whether Trump eliminates the daily press briefings since they hate him and the feeling is doubtlessly mutual.
Will Trump End the Media’s White House Daily Briefing?
Who needs the daily White House briefing to communicate when you have Twitter, Facebook and Instagram? Why tussle with the networks, the New York Times and the Washington Post when you can Skype in to the local anchors in Altoona or Milwaukee or Houston? If this were actually done one can only imagine the outcry. There would be story after story attacking President Trump not to mention Press Secretary Spicer. Would it matter – or would it wind up helping Trump?
“Okay, Trump isn’t really going to be pee-boarding anyone (darn it), but just because a story isn’t true is no reason not to report it. At least, in 2017 that seems to be the prevailing journalistic philosophy after a number of news outlets, with varying degrees of enthusiasm and hyperbole, published reports that the Russians were ready to blackmail Donald Trump with secret videos …
After eight years of fawning, butt-kissing, and constant tongue baths, the media have resumed their adversarial role to the new president. Following up on scurrilous, unsubstantiated smears the press were drooling over the opportunity to savagely attack The Donald and treat him like meat before ravening hyenas. They found out an unfortunate fact of life. Prod a dangerous creature and you could wind up having a real bad day.
The Media Is Outraged That Trump Criticized CNN. They Must Have Forgotten When Obama Did The Same To Fox News
The media was furious after Donald Trump refused to take a question from a CNN reporter at his first press conference as president-elect Wednesday The press was incensed, but why did Barack Obama not generate the same outrage when he repeatedly criticized Fox News and questioned its legitimacy over the last eight years?
YOU’VE SEEN THIS:
Sciutto discussed the ordeal soon afterward and jumped to his colleague’s defense, calling Acosta “brave” for what he did.
“If I could just add this: a lot of charges were leveled at CNN, including my brave colleague there, Jim Acosta,” Sciutto said.
Killing CNN
Yesterday, Trump made it crystal-clear to CNN that they have crossed the red line – you know, the one Obama dared the Russians to cross in Syria. They crossed it, and Obama whimpered. Trump is done with red lines. He is building a wall, and CNN is closed out of Trump’s news conferences. He flatly refused to allow them to exercise the pretense of journalism by refusing to permit them to level questions at him during his presser. NY Magazine: Trump ‘Owns the Press’ at First Press Conference But observed as spectacle, Trump came away with a resounding victory. That’s because Trump won even before he stepped before the microphone, by making the media the story. Last night, BuzzFeed published a salacious 35-page oppo-research dossier on Trump that alleged Russia possessed sexual and financial dirt on Trump that could be used to blackmail him.
Journalists receive oppo research frequently during political campaigns, but publish only what they can verify. By amending this standard for Trump, BuzzFeed handed him an opening to play the victim. Trump thrives in a world where facts are fungible.
“We are now fully immersed in the anonymous, the unverified, and the unverifiable. And he hasn’t even taken office. Trumpism sure is fast.”
IN A CHANGE OF PROTOCOL I’M RETURNING TO THE OLD FORMAT, POSTING DIFFERENT THINGS IN THE COMMENT SECTION SO THE HAPPY WANDERERS CAN BROWSE AT THEIR LEISURE.

Fiat Chrysler announces $1 billion investment in U.S. manufacturing, 2,000 new jobs
The Warren plant will make the new Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer large SUVs. A plant in Toledo, Ohio also will get new equipment to make a new Jeep pickup. The move by Fiat Chrysler follows a similar recent announcement made by a competing auto brand.
U.S. says Navy ship fired warning shots at Iranian vessels
The incident, which occurred Sunday and was first reported by Reuters, comes as U.S. President-elect Donald Trump prepares to take office on Jan. 20. In September, Trump vowed that any Iranian vessels that harass the U.S. Navy in the Gulf would be “shot out of the water.”
THE RAGHEADS WILL SOON LEARN TRUMP IS NOT THE PUSHOVER THAT OBAMA WAS
The Navy destroyer fired warning flares and a U.S. Navy helicopter also dropped a smoke float before the warning shots were fired. The Iranian vessels came within 900 yards (800 meters) of the Mahan, which was escorting two other U.S. military ships, they said.
The spoof, titled “Millennial International: Sponsor a Millennial Today” hits on all of the stereotypes surrounding millennials. And, while it’s really not fair to lump all the millennials into one category, they can thank their spoiled snowflake peers for the bad press.
“Am I capable of having a job? Sure,” Declan said. “I just feel like maybe employment right now would be stifling my creativity.”
“If it wasn’t for the program, I’d have to get a job—or worse, start a GoFundMe,” he added.

Hillary Clinton Receives Ovation at ‘The Color Purple’
Mrs. Clinton, accompanied by her husband, former President Bill Clinton, and their daughter, Chelsea, received several ovations from the sold-out audience as she arrived, and then another round of applause when she was acknowledged by the cast after the show.
[Did she get a booboo sticker too? Cuz, you know, she lost the election, then she lost the recount, then she lost the electoral vote, then she lost the Congressional confirmation of the electoral vote.]
From the moment then-state senator Barack Obama showed up on the national stage to address the Democratic convention in 2004, the news media were in love.
“Obama is a rock star,” NBC’s Andrea Mitchell exclaimed during MSNBC’s live convention coverage back on July 27, 2004.
When Obama ran for President four years later, news reporters led the cheers.
“It’s almost hard to remain objective because it’s infectious, the energy, I think.”
As a candidate, the Associated Press celebrated Obama as “something special,” while as President-elect, the Washington Post drooled over his “chiseled pectorals,” on display during a vacation in Hawaii.
“He transcends the racial divide so effortlessly that it seems reasonable to expect that he can bridge all the other divisions — and answer all the impossible questions — plaguing American public life.”
[CtH: And, eight years later, 14½ million more Americans are out of work than when Mr. Hope and Change took office, 25 million Americans are still without health insurance, domestic violence is rampant, we’ve endured a record number of terrorist attacks and entered a record number of wars, and the racial and political divides are worse than ever. Answering questions plaguing American public life? More like being the plague on American public life!]
“On the bus ride along the snowy road to Lebanon, New Hampshire, I showed him this week’s Newsweek, hot off the presses. [to Obama] How does this feel, of all the honors that have come your way, all the publicity?…Who does it make you think of? Is there, is there a loved one?”
