THE SATURDAY GRUDGE

AN OPEN LETTER TO TODD AKIN

Congratulations. You stood on principle even after making a foolish comment you thought would pass with an apology. You’ve held elective office for 24 years. You should have realized by now the media will set republicans up at every chance and when you do say anything the slightest bit controversial they will descend on you like a pack of ravening dogs.A sincere apology is only accepted by those with grace and civility in their souls. The democrat party has none.

Crossroads GPS pulled $5 million in ads they were going to run to help you and the RNC pulled their support, still you remain defiant.Your BFF,Mike Huckabee encouraged you to stay in,even though you went from 3 points up to 12 points down to the most reviled woman in Missouri.Remember it was Huckabee who stayed in the 2008 to split the evangelical vote with Romney until the establishment eunuch McStain prevailed. We all saw how that worked out.

You boast you’ve raised $100,000 since you took your principled stance.110K is pocket money in the high stakes contest we are now embroiled in.

There are plenty of Missourians who would never vote for AireClaire, but what you have done is dampen the enthusiasm of conservatives with your obstinance.Given the inherent vote fraud that regularly occurs in St. Louis and Kansas City, you have,in effect, handed a senate seat to the least-deserving liberal bootlick in the state.Additionally, you have quite probably foisted four more agonizing years of a vile-smelling maggot from Nevada as majority leader on our beloved land. You not only have condemned yourself, but you are dragging Romney down with you.

You’re for the sanctity of life.We get that.So are most of us on the right. But we must keep things in perspective and choose the hill we want to fight on.You have, unwittingly or not, done that for all of us.Perhaps you are satisfied being a martyr for your cause, but that will be cold comfort when a wretched piece of scum is grinning broadly at her victory party election night, knowing her seat was gift-wrapped and handed to her.

Thanks again,Todd.For nothing.

Romney says he was never asked about his birth certificate [1:15]

August 24, 2012: Mitt Romney started off a Michigan campaign event with, “I love being home, in this place where Ann and I were raised, where both of us were born. Ann was born in Henry Ford Hospital; I was born in Harper Hospital. No one’s ever asked to see my birth certificate; they know that this is the place that we were born and raised.”

Romney also said that he had visited all 83 counties of Michigan while growing up. It’s nice he got the number of counties in Michigan right … unlike Barack Obama, who once told a 2008 campaign crowd he’d been to all 57 states, or his running mate, Joe Biden, who recently told another campaign crowd that this was the 20th century.

A couple of hours after Romney’s speech, the Obama campaign posted on its facebook page:

Mitt Romney directly enlisted himself in the birther movement this morning: “No one has ever asked to see my birth certificate. They know this is the place I was born.” Get the President’s back. Stand with him in this election against false, divisive charges.

Messages sent from Obama’s personal Twitter account called Romney’s dig a “new low” and said, “This is personal now.”

Seriously, Barry? “False, divisive charges”? “This is personal now”? Should we cue the “ominous music” sound track now?

Mr. President, how exactly are we supposed to KNOW these charges are FALSE when you’ve been paying your personal army of lawyers to fight every effort anyone has made to verify your life history?

Obama talks about secrecy [:05]

As for DIVISIVE … puh-leeze. If the charges really were FALSE, you could have ended the whole thing years ago and then there would have been nothing left for anyone to be all divisive about, now would there? But no. To you and yours, we’re all just a bunch of dirty RAAAACISTS!

Except … it’s not racist to ask for proof of your eligibility.

In 2000, Bush’s pasty white VP nominee, Dick Cheney, had his eligibility challenged in court. Nobody sealed his records and screamed the American people had no right to ask the question. And when the court ruled, the issue became a non-issue.

Chrissy’s Site Bites @ http://news.webshots.com/photo/2178157290056011884ewTACL

In 2008, at least three cases were filed against pasty white GOP candidate John McCain, all challenging his eligibility based on his birth in the Panama Canal Zone.

Chrissy’s Site Bites @ http://news.webshots.com/photo/2659805310056011884VwHvYk

According to an article at the Michigan Law Review, all of the eligibility cases against McCain were dismissed for the same technicality I’ve seen cited for the dismissal of most (or all) of the Obama eligibility cases. That is, that the plaintiffs lacked “standing.”  As explained in the article,

“It is questionable whether anyone would have standing to challenge a presidential candidate’s eligibility in federal court.”

How weird is it that American voters have NO legal right to demand a presidential candidate prove he has a right to be President?

I don’t understand what “standing” really means, so your guess is as good as mine why a court agreed to rule on the Cheney challenge. Maybe it was because the issue was not his birth, but whether he was a resident of Texas or not. The plaintiffs were Texans, so maybe that gave them standing?

It seems 100% bizarre and unfair that a Texan could challenge a person’s eligibility under the 12th Amendment, but that NO American can challenge a person’s eligibility under the natural born citizen clause that’s actually in the original body of the Constitution!

Anyway …. to get back to the “false, divisive” thing. The way I see it, there has been one huge, important difference between Obama’s and McCain’s birther problems.

A bipartisan legal review and a UNANIMOUS Senate resolution both concluded that McCain was a natural-born citizen, because both his parents were U.S. citizens. This point has no bearing on the questions that exist for Obama’s eligibility.

Two Vice Presidents have fallen into this same not-so-gray area. Democrat VP Al Gore was born in Washington, D.C.; Republican VP Charles Curtis was born in the Kansas Territory.

Personally, I do not believe that President Obama was born in Kenya. But I do think there are a number of compelling questions about Obama’s eligibility as a natural born citizen.

Remember, McCain, Gore and Curtis were not born in actual U.S. states, but the legal consensus was that the Founders meant “natural born” to mean “born of two American citizens”, not “born on U.S. soil.”

I think this makes a ton of sense. Why would the Founders care where you took your first breath? The important thing is … were you raised with divided national loyalties?

And on that issue, there are serious issues where Barack Obama is concerned, issues that SHOULD have been raised, discussed and SETTLED LONG BEFORE HE GOT ELECTED!

  • The man he claims is his father was a British citizen in the Colony of Kenya. Did Barack ever have dual American-British citizenship?
  • There is some question that Ann, Baby Barack’s mother, being only 17 at the time of his birth, was not able to pass citizenship to her son. Is that true? Is it significant?
  • When Barack was a young boy, he was apparently adopted by Lolo Soetoro, his mother’s Indonesian husband and the father of Barack’s half sister. The family moved to Indonesia, where Barack was registered in school as an Indonesian citizen. Some say Indonesia does not allow dual citizenship. What does that mean for Barack’s American citizenship?
  • Obama says that he traveled to Pakistan in 1981. In 1981, it was not possible to enter Pakistan on a U.S. passport. How, then, did Barack get in and out of Pakistan?

These are all SUBSTANTIAL QUESTIONS that people like us were asking back in 2008. We deserved answers. We got nothing but scorn and ridicule.

Since then, even apart from all of the above, we’ve seen serious evidence presented by very credible witnesses that both of Obama’s birth certificates are digital forgeries, that his draft registration has been illegally altered and that the Social Security number he uses actually belongs to someone else. Forging any one of these is a serious crime, so why are we still being treated like wide-eyed, snaggle-toothed whack jobs for wanting answers?

I have documented my research on the birther issue at Chrissy’s Site Bites in my “Birth and Dreams – Fraud in the Obama Narrative” album @ http://news.webshots.com/album/579643269HIpQyD.

I’m sure Obama’s tingly-legged ‘bots will be disappointed to learn that I do not own a tinfoil hat.

Speaking of the other horse’s end … you’d think that maybe the Vice President of the UNITED States might have come up with something unifying and patriotic to say for Independence Day week-end. But then, it wouldn’t be that paragon of bipartisan Democrat tolerance, Joe Biden, would it?

THE TUESDAY GRUDGE

Posted by Pistol Pete

It never ceases to amaze how in this age of instant communication bits of information can be spread around the world in seconds. Two days ago nobody except we political junkies ever heard of Todd Akin. Now the fate of the Senate majority may rise or fall on whether he steps down by 5:00 PM today or decides he can win with virtually no support.Recall during the Obamacare fight Ben Nelson wavered, and could have been a national hero had he not taken a bribe referred to as the ‘Cornhusker Kickback.’ Had he held to his principles Republicans from around the country would have sent him donations and he could have been a senator for as long as he wanted.Sadly, liberals are inherently cowardly and he sold the country out.He became a pariah in his home state and decided to retire rather than seek another term where he was sure to lose.Bart Stupak fell for an empty promise from the liar-in-chief and suffered the same fate.Obama used these fools to get what he wanted and then sent them off with virtually nothing to show for it.

No,it’s not right that democrats can say anything they please and are never held to account while one slip can cost a republican their carreer, but it is what it is.As William F. Buckley famously stated, don’t choose the most conservative candidate, choose the most conservative candidate WHO CAN WIN.We are all hoping Akin has a ‘come to Jesus’ moment, but I don’t hold out much hope.Maybe we are called ‘the stupid party’ for a reason.

Biden Says Republicans Will Put People Back In Chains [:22]

Chrissy’s Site Bites @ http://news.webshots.com/photo/2415033990056011884OMTlYZ

Romney was right to say that Biden had made an outrageous remark that caused the Obama White House to sink a little bit lower and that Obama’s people should take their campaign of division and anger and hate back to Chicago.

Joe Biden and his cronies could do with a history lesson. The Republican Party was founded for the express purpose of ending slavery.

The Democratic Party ran on a White Supremacy plank for decades before the civil rights legislation sponsored and passed by Republicans allowed the Black vote to grow enough clout that self-serving Democrats like Lyndon Johnson were forced to at least pretend in public that they weren’t bigots.

That which cannot continue will not continue

Democrats have only one approach to economic policy … raise taxes and increase regulations. That is why they top the list of Worst States for Business and why companies flee them to relocate in business friendly States like Texas.

Another dorky poll

August 2, 2012: Pew Poll gives Obama 51% vs. Romney 41% in “If election were today” question

BUT is Obama really ten points ahead?

Party Affiliation in Pew Sample vs. Gallup Party Affiliation Poll July 19-22, 2012 (most recent) = Skew

Republican 459 = 24.5% vs. 28% = minus 3.5 points

Independent 599 = 32% vs. 41% = minus 9 points

Democrat 813 = 43.5% vs. 30% = plus 13.5 points

Total 1871 = 100% showing 17 point skew toward Democrat over Republican

Calculating the Independent skew – With “Leaners”, Gallup reports Republican 47% vs. Democrat 45%

Republican 47% – 28% = 19 points from Independents = 43%

Democrat 45% – 30% = 15 points from Independents = 34%

Independent 41% – 31 points = 10 Independents with no Lean = 23%

Rough split of the minus 9 points worth of Independents between Republican, Democrat and No Lean:

Republican 4 vs. Democrat 2 vs. None 2

Assuming I’ve done the math right (not a good assumption, I assure you!), this adds another 2 points to the skew toward Democrat over Republican, for a whopping total of 19. That’s nearly double the lead they’re showing for Obama over Romney.

So, yeah, Obama’s ahead if you mostly only ask Obama voters who they’ll vote for. Duh.

Barely a blip UPDATED

July 29, 2012: DNC Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz on “Face the Nation” (CBS)

After Dismal GDP Report, DNC Chair Says Things Are Turning Around [:40]

Let’s just put two things she says in context.

About the economy having contracted just before Obama took office … that contraction happened two years after DEMOCRATS took over majority control in Washington, during the two year period when Obama was in the Senate.

As for the “twelfth straight quarter of growth”, may I just say Big Freakin’ Whoop about that? She’s talking about increases in the GDP that are so small, they barely register on the only graph I really understand and care about, which is this one showing what percentage of Americans have JOBS.

Fake fight at Romney rally

The incident below was reported, with video, as

a physical clash between Romney supporters and protesters. … At one point, Romney supporter Richard Brysac of Parma confronted protester Al Neal of Canton, who attended with a handful of members of a group called Fight for Fair Economy Ohio.

Brysac, 77, attempted to hush Neal by emptying a bottle of water into the 25-year-old union worker’s mouth.

“He seemed thirsty, so I tried to shove the bottle in his mouth,” Brysac said. “I thought it was wrong to interfere with [Pawlenty’s] freedom of speech.

When the bottle didn’t work, Brysac pulled out his handkerchief and gagged Neal.

Neal removed the handkerchief and continued chanting until the group of protesters was escorted from the rally.

The reporter didn’t even bother to get Brysacz’s name right, much less check on these two jokers’ bona fides. Lefties shot the video around the internet, crowing about having Proof Positive that Republicans are Mean and Intolerant.

Check out the video for yourself. It’s embedded @ http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/07/14/Democrats-fake-fight-ohio
