LENT: A 40-day period of unity with “the mystery of Jesus in the desert” designed to prepare us for Easter.
By praying, fasting, giving to charity, sacrificing small things, and abstaining from meat on Ash Wednesday and all Fridays in Lent, we strengthen ourselves to resist Satan’s temptation and fulfill the missions God has given us.
Because every Sunday is a feast day to celebrate the Resurrection, the Sundays during Lent are not part of the 40 days of Lent.

FRESNO STATE PROFESSOR LOSES: Nearly two years ago, Fresno State Professor Greg Thatcher and some of his students purposefully wiped away pro-life chalk messages written by the Fresno State Students for Life group.
The chalk messages were approved by the university, but Thatcher decided to censor the pro-life message claiming that “free speech is free speech in the free speech area” and that “college campuses are not free speech areas.” He said he and his students were exercising their own free speech as he proceeded to rub the chalk off the sidewalk with his shoe. MASCOT NEWS: Color me a Gobsmacked Grammy! – Mama Buzz had a parent-teacher conference today and gave me a couple of highlights. Bunny is mildly autistic, but functioning well enough to be in a mainstream first grade classroom with support. She’s currently reading at a second grade level and can identify and name triangle, rectangle, trapezoid, oval, pentagon, hexagon, cube, cone, cylinder, sphere, and pyramid. NPVIC: Mob Rule
The founders of our nation set up the electoral college to ensure that democracy (a fancy term for “mob rule”) did not ruin the United States.
We are a Republic. Democrats are still pissed that Hillary won the popular vote (solely because of large majorities in urban areas dominated by Democrat rule).
In fact, historically, Democratic candidates are the only ones who have won the popular vote, but lost the electoral vote. Republicans view this as a sign that the founders knew what they were doing.

Feminists should be protesting FOR the border wall
Build the wall! Make it tall! If they can’t get in, They won’t come at all!
During his CPAC speech, President Trump said,
“Mothers who love their daughters give them massive amounts of birth control pills, because they know their daughters are going to be raped on the way up to our southern border. Think of that. True story told to me by the Border Patrol. Think of how evil that is.”
Lefties sneered with comments like “If you’re the type of person who believes this, you are dumb and awful.” And “I wonder what movie trump is getting this from.”
The only problem is that what Trump said has been well documented and reported by leftist-friendly media outlets like HuffPo.
“According to a stunning Fusion investigation, 80 percent of women and girls crossing into the U.S. by way of Mexico are raped during their journey. That’s up from a previous estimate of 60 percent, according to an Amnesty International report.”

ASH WEDNESDAY REMINDER: Lent starts this Wednesday – While all Roman Catholics are encouraged to attend Mass on Ash Wednesday in order to begin the Lenten season with the proper attitude and reflection, Ash Wednesday is not a Holy Day of Obligation. It is, however, a day of fasting and abstinence, intended to prepare the church membership for Easter, the celebration of Christ’s death and resurrection.
