“This weekend, the rabid pro-abortion senator from Maine, Susan Collins, said that she would not support a nominee to the Supreme Court who is ‘hostile’ to abortion rights because ‘that would mean to me that their judicial philosophy did not include a respect for established decisions, established law.’
“Her argument is that abortion is not even open to discussion since it is ‘settled law.’ From this, we can conclude that, had she been a senator in 1860, she would have voted against any nominee to the Court who was hostile to the right to own slaves. We can also reasonably assume she would have opposed any nominee to the Court who, in the 1900s, supported women’s suffrage. After all, male-only voting had been ‘settled law’ for over 100 years. TRUMP’S LEADERSHIP: Member nations of NATO have pledged their “unwavering commitment” to increase defense funding. This is a victory for President Trump who has long called for other countries to share the burden of military spending. A Forbes report revealed that the U.S. spends more than double in defense spending for NATO than all other countries combined. President Trump has had a busy week. Last Monday he named his choice for the next Supreme Court Justice. The next day he headed for the NATO summit in Brussels, where he took command. Then he was off to England, where he met both PM Theresa May and Her Highness. Now he’s off to meet one-on-one with Putin. Obama spent most of his time golfing, vacationing on somebody else’s property, or giving away America’s treasure trying to buy good will from terrorists. Now the dems are trying to tell Trump what to do. He’s got this:

The president has not set out publicly what his goals in the meeting would be, causing further consternation to journalists and the opposition — though he said last week at a joint press conference with British Prime Minister Theresa May that he would bring up Russia’s election meddling.
May backed up Trump, noting that he had responded strongly to Russia’s alleged nerve agent attack against against a former spy and his daughter in Britain earlier this year.

Democrats are pretty much able to do and say whatever they feel like without backlash. Tennessee Democrat Steve Cohen came to the defense of blue ribbon jackass Peter Strzok during last week’s dog and pony show. He had to walk it back, then blamed Fox.
On Friday’s broadcast of “CNN Newsroom,” Representative Steve Cohen (D-TN) stated that he regrets saying Peter Strzok deserves a Purple Heart and that he used the term “metaphorically, not literally. I never literally thought the Purple Heart should have been given to Agent Strzok.” Continue reading
