2017_06 05 Bernie Sanders book deal

Bernie Sanders’ income puts him in the top 4%.  In 2016, he and his wife sold one house and bought another with the proceeds.  The newest one is a four-bedroom house on the shore of Lake Champlain costing roughly $600,000.  Their other two houses are in Burlington, VT, and Capitol Hill in D.C.

April 28, 2017:  For over a year, FBI agents and the US Attorney’s Office in Vermont have been analyzing Burlington College records because of fundraising activities related to an extremely ambitious expansion and fundraising effort spearheaded by then-president Jane Sanders that bankrupted the now-defunct school in Burlington, Vermont.

A Personal Request from Pistol Pete

Yours truly was privileged to be afforded posting authority shortly after PoliNation came online back in February of 2011. My dear friend Ting gave me a heads up when it began. Many of the people involved have been blogging buddies of mine for many years. We don’t have advertising banners and we don’t ask anybody to donate for anything. What we do here daily is exercise our freedom of expression. Chrissy and Bluebird are far more gifted than I am, but we put a considerable amount of effort in order to keep you informed and entertained. There were far more people commenting in the beginning and some of the threads were epic. Nowadays most visitors just lurk for whatever reason. We love what we do and plan to keep doing it as long as the Lord will allow.

Curmudgeon, the owner of Political Clown Parade, hands out awards each year for the top small blogs. We have been honored with an award the last two years. There are 20 medals given out each year and we came in #20. Bluebird also got one for her own page. There are thousands of small sites that toil in anonimity, but it’s nice to get a little recognition. What I’d like you to do, if you can spare 30 seconds, is to go to PCP and cast a vote for our little effort here.

Here’s the info:

On June 1, we announced the Fifth Annual Paul Revere Award to honor conservative bloggers whose work was filled “with the breathings of their heart.” They are the good people who feed our soul—who make us laugh at ourselves or life—and restore our buoyancy in a troubled world. They champion freedom of expression while holding down jobs, raising their families and/or selflessly providing care for loved ones.
These often overlooked bloggers deserve to be recognized for their work. What greater honor is there than to be recognized by their peers and loyal readers?
We’ve gotten a pretty distinguished list already, but there must be more don’t you think? Nominations will be accepted through midnight, Saturday June 10. Voting will begin on Sunday, June 11 to determine this year’s winners.

VOTING BEGINS JUNE 11. I’LL REPOST THE INFORMATION THEN.

It’s not rocket science

In fact, it’s just third grade science, the time when kids start learning about photosynthesis.

CO2 and photosynthesis

CO2 is not a pollutant.  It’s a NUTRIENT!  This is why growers buy CO2 GENERATORS for their greenhouses — they maximize growth!

Carbon dioxide is one of the essential ingredients in green plant growth and is a primary environmental factor in greenhouses.

Plants benefit most from CO2 when the PPM (parts per million) of CO2 in the air is between 1000 and 1500. Ambient PPM of CO2 is usually about 300 PPM.

2017 Al Gore's failed prediction

Any elementary school student who paid attention during the lessons on photosynthesis would know that Al Gore’s “inconvenient truth” is really Al Gore’s Big Fat Lie.  Why the teachers don’t is the question.

The fact that schools show “An Inconvenient Truth” to the same kids who are learning about photosynthesis reminds me a lot of another of the Left’s bizarre educational oxymorons — i.e., the kids who study the wonders of human fetal development are also taught that abortion  just removes “an undifferentiated clump of cells.”

Five Reasons

Five Reasons Why America Is About To Become A Very Conservative Country
by Tyler Durden – Jun 2, 2017

For generations, we’ve seen the political landscape in this country teeter back and forth between the Left and the Right. Usually about every 8 years or so, whichever political party is dominating Congress, the Executive Branch, and the state legislatures, is kicked out by voters and replaced with the other political party.

However, there’s something very different going on this time around. Donald Trump’s ascent to the oval office represents a major shift in our society and culture, and I’m not talking about the intermittent shuffle of politicians that we see every few years. Instead, the pendulum is about to swing very hard to the right.

I think that the political landscape in America is going to be drifting towards conservatism for the next 20-40 years. Though it may not be identical to what we view as conservative today, and it certainly won’t be the phony neoconservatism that dominated the past, it will be right-wing nonetheless. Here’s why:

1. The Supreme Court Is About To Change

President Trump has already chosen one Supreme Court justice, and there’s a good chance that he’s going to wind up choosing several more (much to the dismay of the Left). Because of their advanced age, we may see three more Supreme Court justices retire or die over the next four to eight years, two of whom lean to the left.

If Trump lasts two terms, we’re definitely going to see a Supreme Court that is dominated by conservatives for the next 20-30 years. So even when liberals take back Congress and the presidency on occasion, many of their most radical ideas won’t be able to take hold for many years.

2. Immigration Is Going To Decline

The percentage of the population that is foreign born hasn’t been this high since the early 1900’s, and most of those immigrants are liberal. That’s why our loose borders, combined with The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965, have probably done more to bolster the ranks of the Left than any other law.

But just as our nation’s political landscape tends to swing back and forth between the Left and the Right, so to does number of immigrants in America. In the short term, we can expect people like Trump to restrict the border and maybe pass laws that will decrease immigration to some degree.

But there’s a long term trend to consider as well, because the election of Trump likely represents a turning point for our society. Considering how crucial his immigration stance was to his victory, it’s clear that a growing number of Americans want the border tightened up, and the number of immigrants moving here to decrease. And rest assured that in the near future, there will be more conservatives voting for politicians who will try to lower immigration rates, because…

3. The Next Generation Is Incredibly Conservative

Over the years we’ve seen each generation of Americans become a little more liberal than the last, but that’s about to change. According to a study from last year, Generation Z, which represents kids born after the year 2000, is the most conservative generation since World War Two. To give you an idea of just how right-wing the next generation is, when asked if they are “quite conservative,” 14% of teenagers say they are, compared to just 2% of Millennials. That’s a mind boggling shift, from one generation to the next.

4. Liberal Birth Rates Are Declining

The Left is about to pay a huge price for denigrating the family and traditional gender roles for so many years. Because liberal women tend to be more career minded and wait longer to have children, they often have fewer kids over the course of their lives. That’s why liberal states always have lower birth rates than conservative states.

All of the states with a birth rate of of 60 or less per 1000 people are liberal, and all of the states with a birth rate of 70 or more per 1000 people are conservative. That may not sound drastic, but consider that these states still have a sizeable mix of conservatives and liberals. Even the most liberal states have millions of conservative residents and vice versa, which offsets the results. If ideology is really driving birth rates, then liberals are probably having very very few children. They’re probably not reaching the minimum replacement rate of 2.1 children per mother.

When you consider how many values kids learn from their parents and carry into adulthood, it’s obvious that the Left has a serious demographic problem. The only way they’ve been able to create more liberals, is through immigration and through indoctrination in the school system. Unfortunately for the Left, they’re not going to have a stranglehold on our schools for much longer either.

5. Leftist Academia Is In Serious Trouble

From Kindergarten to college, our schools are breeding grounds for liberal ideas. That’s become abundantly clear in recent years, as we’ve seen the horrifying rise of political correctness and social justice beliefs on college campuses. These institutions are little more than indoctrination centers for the Left.

But this isn’t going to go on for much longer. We have a whole generation of kids who were buried in over a trillion dollars worth of debt, just so they could get worthless liberal arts degrees that won’t ever help them get a job. They paid tens of thousands of dollars to be indoctrinated by liberal professors, before going back home to live with their parents.

That’s why student loans constitute a bubble in our economy, and once it pops, colleges are going to have to cut back on many classes that don’t actually increase the earning power of students. Coincidentally, the fields of study that harbor the most liberal professors, are the ones that don’t help most students get jobs, like the arts, humanities, liberal arts, gender studies, etc. Someday soon, colleges are going to be forced to trim the fat, and many of these Marxist professors and diversity administrators are going to get the axe. Their positions are incredibly superfluous.

As for the leftists public schools, let’s not forget that the number of kids being homeschooled is growing rapidly, and most of their parents are conservatives. They’re raising a new generation that isn’t going to be brainwashed by government run schools.

And let’s not forget that the mainstream media, which has been largely wed to the left, is dying. So basically, every institution that the Left uses to teach its ideas, from the media to academia, is slowly crumbling away.

In summation, everything liberals have relied on to bolster their ranks, propagate their ideas, and pass their laws, [is] failing. So there shouldn’t be any doubt. Over the next few decades, America is going to become a very conservative place.

Reza Aslan and Profanity

In the wake of the London terror attack, Reza Aslan tweeted his opinion that President Trump is a “piece of s**t” for saying it was a terror attack.

When he was ridiculed and criticized for using profanity to condemn Trump for being RIGHT about the attack, he apologized for the profanity, saying this “was not like him.”

2017_06 04 Reza Aslan's apology

Yeah, no.  Profanity and derogatory statements are absolutely and totally like him, as these specimens of his past tweets demonstrate:

  • May 29, 2017 tweet responding to a tweeter who said Putin’s visit had “weakened core elements of post-WW2 order”: “But on the plus side he didn’t s**t himself in public.”
  • May 26, 2017 tweet commenting on Trump’s tweet congratulating Gianforte for his win in Montana: “And Jesus said, ‘if someone tries to ask you a question, beat the s**t out of them.'”
  • May 23, 2017 tweet responding to Sean Hannity’s tweet that he had been trying to find the truth about Seth Rich “as the Mom Dad bro asked”:  “This piece of s**t.”
  • May 14, 2017 tweet responding to Paul Ryan’s tweet celebrating moms on Mother’s Day: “Except of course Syrian moms fleeing war, famine, and genocide with their starving children. F**k those moms.”
  • Feb 16, 2017 tweet responding to Jake Tapper’s tweet quoting a “friend of Harward’s” who he said had told him that Trump’s offer of an NSA job was a “s**t sandwich”:  “Right now a ‘s**t sandwich’ is the best any of us can hope for from the #FakePresident.”
  • May 9, 2017 tweet about hypocritcal Democrats criticizing him for firing Comey, when they had been demanding he do so:  “Oh the joy when this lying conniving scumbag narcissistic sociopath piece of s**t fake president finally gets what’s coming to him.”
  • Oct 21, 2016 tweet responding to Dinesh D’Souza’s criticism of Barack Obama:  “Hey Dinesh. I’ll say this as politely as I can: Go f**k yourself, you adulterous piece of s**t felon.”
  • July 30, 2016 tweet responding to Donald Trump’s remark about what Khizr Khan’s wife would say:  “She’d probably tell you to go f**k yourself.”

Who is this potty-mouthed hypocrite when he’s not on Twitter:

CNN bio: “Reza Aslan: Host, Believer.  Reza Aslan is an internationally renowned writer and scholar of religions.”

Wikipedia bio: “Reza Aslan is an Iranian-American author, public intellectual, religious studies scholar, producer, and television host. He has written three books on religion and is a member of the American Academy of Religion, the Society of Biblical Literature, and the International Qur’anic Studies Association. He is also a professor of creative writing at University of California, Riverside.”

London Bridge Has Fallen Down

By now you’ve all heard of the latest terror attack in the Muslim paradise formerly known as London. With blissfully ignorant victims and unarmed police, they’re ridiculously easy pickings for slaughter. A van crashed into a crowd of people on the London Bridge and the spawn from Hell jumped out of the back and began stabbing victims and slashing throats. The terrorists moved on from there to 2 other venues before three of them were shot dead. It is not known how many are still at large.

Police stating obvious now, that it may have been a terror attack.
ONLY LIBERALS HAVE TROUBLE ADMITTING THE EXISTENCE OF TERRORISM
THE CROWD THREW CHAIRS AT TERRORISTS AS UNARMED COPS FLED THE SCENE. OFFICIALS OFFERED THIS ADVICE TO VICTIMS:

[CtH: I wonder if the sanctimonious anti-gun Brits will stop wagging their fingers at us after this.]

PRESIDENT TRUMP UNLEASHED A TWEET STORM LAST NIGHT, RENEWING HIS CALL FOR A TRAVEL BAN:

NBC tweeted about it, but refused to retweet it claiming what was said was ‘unconfirmed’. How are ‘fears’ that that’s what was unconfirmed?

[CtH: Yeah, cuz really … THEY have never invented “fears” and “concerns” out of thin air and turned them into talking points. /sarc]

President Trump assailed political correctness, gun control supporters and the mayor of London on Sunday, arguing that the world needed to be more serious about fighting terrorism a day after seven people were killed and dozens more wounded in the latest attack in Britain.

“We must stop being politically correct and get down to the business of security for our people,” he wrote on Twitter. “If we don’t get smart it will only get worse.”

Mr. Trump targeted Sadiq Khan, the mayor of London, scorning him for trying to reassure his people. “At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is “no reason to be alarmed!” Mr. Trump wrote.

“Do you notice we are not having a gun debate right now?” he wrote on Sunday morning. “That’s because they used knives and a truck!”

On Saturday night, he wrote, “We need the courts to give us back our rights. We need the Travel Ban as an extra level of safety!”

[CtH: When I heard who is mayor of London, I had to wonder if the Brits actually believe prog twaddle that we somehow bring it on ourselves and that hugging it out and loving on them will make extremist Muslims stop planning and executing terror attacks.]

MSNBC Host Wonders if There’s ‘Risk of Overreaction’ by Authorities Responding to London Terrorism

Man Calls Out Islamophobia During London Terror Attack

[CtH: Did they give the VICTIMS even five SECONDS of their oh-so-compassionate concern?!]

FROM DIANNY AT PATRIOT RETORT:

The time for Tea Lights and Hashtags is over

Another terrorist attack in London. More bodies broken and dead.

And the Hashtag Rapid Response Team is on the case.

Because apparently in the West today, a syrupy hashtag delivered with pinpoint accuracy is the best defense against Islamist terror.

I mean, it’s worked so well thus far, hasn’t it?

http://patriotretort.com/time-tea-lights-and-hashtags/

[CtH: So … what?  The Muslims are just really HOT?  I mean … yeah, that makes total sense, seeing as they come from the Middle East and Africa, and oh wait … London is cold and rainy.  So maybe they’re too cold and they miss the sun.  No, that can’t be right.]

Judicial Watch uncovers more dirt on Hillary

On Thursday, Judicial Watch released 2,078 pages of documents that included 115 more Clinton email exchanges that were not previously turned over to the State Department.

Bill to Hillary - something to hide
The documents reveal more instances of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sending and receiving classified information via an unsecured email server.

They also show Clinton’s daughter Chelsea and others involved with the Clinton Foundation receiving special favors from Huma Abedin, the former secretary’s deputy chief of staff.

For example, in July 2011, Abedin made Chelsea and another Clinton Foundation executive part of the State Department’s official delegation on the flight going to Germany to watch U.S. women’s soccer team play.

“These shocking new Clinton emails show why the Justice Department should reevaluate, reopen, or reinvigorate Clinton, Inc. investigations,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. The casual violation of laws concerning classified material and noxious influence peddling show the Clinton State Department was ‘corruption central’ in the Obama administration.  No wonder Clinton’s allies in the State and Justice Departments had been slow-walking and hiding these emails.”

You can’t be Socialist and Catholic

SOCIALISM Churchill

Socialism is a system of government under which private property does not exist, economic initiative and free markets are discouraged, and the rights and duties of private families and of churches are suppressed.

These are antithetical to Catholic teaching.

David Deaval explains why in “The Catholic Church on the Seven Deadly Sins of Socialism” @ https://stream.org/catholic-church-seven-deadly-sins-socialism/

Socialism truncates the human person, focusing only on the care of the body while ignoring the needs of the soul.

Socialism emphasizes the needs of the state while denying the rights of the family.  Catholic teaching says the state exists for the family.

Socialism promotes class warfare. Its concept of society is utterly foreign to Christianity.

Socialism tramples on the sacred human right to private property and thwarts our right to take economic initiative. The Catechism of the Catholic Church states bluntly, “Everyone has the right to economic initiative; everyone should make legitimate use of his talents to contribute to the abundance that will benefit all, and to harvest the just fruits of his labor.” (2429)

Socialism focuses on justice.  Christianity focuses on love.
