I dunno. I thought Coulter made a good point about Palin fans acting like Obama-droolers and sending hate mail to anyone who criticizes Sarah at all for any reason.
The game of politics doesn’t interest me particularly, so I will not pay much attention to the primaries until I see who is on the ballot for New York, where I will have a vote.

I think some Palin fans are more like Paul fans – a little crazy, get offended easily, but well informed. Obama supporters, in my experience, love him but are woefully uninformed.

Oh, it gets worse every day. Now I find out that Obama’s visit to Richmond on Friday will be directly across the street from me. Lord have mercy…. I won’t be throwing any confetti.

Not to worry Ting, they’ll lock you in the building…..if they even let you on that block. If you want to be part of the adoring crowd, you’ll have to be patted down…..and wait at least 4 hours before Teh Won’s arrival 😉
True story, happened to me for one of the Obama’s stupid date nights and they picked a play next door to my hotel. Blocks of streets were shut down around Times Square.

I think that I will haul all of my garbage cans and recycling bags and totes out to the street that morning. Oh, and all of the debris from the storm, too. Usually the University politely reminds neighbors when they have big events, the purpose of the notice I think is so we will spruce up our lawns, etc. Ha!

It is my office, too, but I doubt we will be impacted because my job sites are elsewhere. I hope that you didn’t miss out on your fun so the Obamas could have their date night. Surely you could leave your hotel???

Request from Afghanistan: Please pray for the local people that would be really nice. There is so much evil in this country and it is easily spread. There are also alot of good people though – same as in Iraq. I think we need to pray for all of the people over here – pray for the locals that they are blessed with the strength to do what is right and not succumb to evil and for the enemy that he open his heart to the humanity and the good in all peoples.”

I have nothing but compassion for the people of the world who don’t have the same freedoms and security we do. Especially the enemy and our clueless President who should really give that Peas Prize back 😦
As my husband reminds me, people of the Middle East have been hating and killing each other for over 2500 years. And no matter what we do, they’ll keep hating and killing each other for another 2500 years.

Cynical spouse served two tours in Vietnam, his battalion replaced the Marines blown up in Beirut, then one tour during Desert Storm….thank goodness he retired before Bush2. Oh, when he was a mid-east expert training Seals.
Just didn’t want you to think he was a couch potato 😉 God Bless your kids too.

🙂 … My brother (another cynic from way back) also served in Vietnam, though briefly since he was shot up really badly. Got a medical discharge, a big scar, arthritis and a Silver Star for his troubles. Kudos to your guy for sticking it out so long. I dunno how any of you coped with this country’s atrocious behavior toward Vietnam vets. I was only 13 when bro got shot. Nobody ever talked about it. I ended up so traumatized, I just buried the whole thing until my own kids went to war. Now I’m trying to sort through a lot of ugly memories and feelings.

FYI: It’s a very short video of Obama being introduced to a military audience. The interesting part is the commentary by redstate. Here’s a bit of it:
————————
Why this stuck with me since I first saw it was that I’d heard nothing of this moment in the national media even though this speech had taken place a month ago.
I guess I just assumed that a President walking in to a room without applause would be newsworthy, especially when someone finally has to step in and instruct the audience to applaud.
Why would I think this? I’m just following the precedent set by the media during George W. Bush’s presidency.
When President Bush gave a speech to the military, June 28th of 2005, there was a moment where the crowd applauded as a result of a White House staffer applauding first. You know the situation. You’re in a crowd, no one applauds, one guy claps, and then the rest follow suit. An unremarkable moment you’d think, but the media made sure that everyone knew who the applaud-starter had been, just in case there were any doubts about how and why anyone would press their hands together for Bush.
————————–
The article goes on to quote what the Laughing Stock Media had to say about this “notable” event, then noted:
————————–
You may be asking where I’m getting these transcripts from that show just how interested the press was in this particular applause-gate. It turns out that our good friends at Media Matters for America archived them for us so they could decry other stations for not picking up the meme.
Oddly enough, they were strangely silent when President Obama not only didn’t receive applause (possibly from a mixed audience of military and civilians) but took it one step further than George Bush by having an applause that didn’t spur from following the applause of others, but actually only materialized when, from the stage, someone requested of the audience to do so.
————————
He also points out that the White House video version of the event edited out the lack of applause as Obama walked to the podium.
