I Am So Pissed Off

The chances of my posting every day are getting more and more slim.One would think that being immersed in the perversity and filth that is the state of affairs would make one inured to the depravity that society has devolved into.I think of a time when people were not so quick to condemn anyone with an opposing point of view.We had morals,we did the right thing just because it was what we were taught.We worked hard;anybody taking handouts was a bum and women got married before they had kids.I have found myself retreating more and more into a shell,only coming out to spend time with my family or on the water with friends.Reading about the atrocities occurring on a daily basis it takes a lot to get me upset.It happened Saturday night,although it wasn’t reported until yesterday.

The thing about being retired is that Friday has no real significance and we’re generally happy on Monday. We have the freedom to do whatever we want without asking permission. Miss Olivia pitched her first game last night and RJ has his first Pony League Tournament game tonight. I just wish the rain hadn’t swollen the river over flood stage so we can’t get the boat in yet. Problems, problems.

President Trump unveiled a round of 11 judicial nominees Thursday for openings on district courts across the country.

Trump announced his intent to fill openings on district courts in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina and Oklahoma.

As of July 13, there were 108 current vacancies on district courts with six nominees pending, according to the Administrative Office of the United States Courts’ website.

The first agenda item under “new business” for tonight’s village board meeting after mayor elect Joann Reed’s swearing in is a proposal to buy her a new car at public expense for her exclusive use.
Reed is facing prosecution by St. Clair County State’s Attorney Brendan Kelly. She is charged with felony vote buying and misdemeanor electioneering. If convicted of the felony charge, Kelly could ask a judge to remove her from office…
Mayor JoAnn Reed, Alorton’s current mayor, faced her own set of charges before the election for smuggling a cell phone into jail after her niece had attacked a pregnant woman. The niece posted “I’m in jail but auntie snuck me my phone don’t tell no 1” on Facebook.
Despite these charges, Reed won the election.
She got $1,500 in campaign cash from the law firm of county Democratic boss Robert Sprague, $1,000 from the firm of Belleville attorney Tom Keefe, $8,000 from her attorney Mark Scoggins and $1,000 from County Board Chairman Mark Kern.
They served her cash and she served them the public’s votes. She again is facing a felony, this time for vote buying and electioneering.

Police: Clerk Shoots Suspect Who Was Allegedly ‘Making Threats’ over Two Cans of Beer
According to an Action News 5 video news report, “A customer entered the gas station and tried to walk out with two cans of beer without paying.” Police said the alleged robbery attempt resulted in a confrontation with the clerk, and the suspect then allegedly “started harassing the store clerk and reportedly implied he had a gun,” which is when the clerk pulled an actual gun and opened fire, striking the suspect once.  The suspect fled, only to be apprehended “outside the business.”

Back to Work

After a much-needed weekend respite we’re back, slaving over a hot keyboard. As Sgt. Joe Friday once said of being an LA cop: ‘It’s an endless, glamor-less, thankless job that’s gotta be done.’

Friday was spent on beautiful Lake Geneva with a good friend. Got lots of fish and too much sun. Saturday I had a tire go flat while I was delivering papers. Fortunately, I made it home and Miss Isabel’s dad is a mechanic who came over and fixed it.

Saturday night we enjoyed chicken and mashed taters with genuine chicken gravy and fresh green beans with our best friends. Yesterday RJ played his last regular season baseball game. He’s already practicing for Freshman football and DW’s son came by with pizza last night.

I glanced at the news infrequently, as nothing ever changes much. My queue runneth over with news tidbits and I’ll try to cover some of the more notable things.

First, the G20 summit went as most people expected. One news reader on the radio said it was more like “the G 19 and Donald Trump.” It doesn’t take a genius to assume the sworn enemies of truth, the American media, will savage Trump from pillar to post no matter what he does.

Barack Hussein Obama was the first president to take the chairmanship of the U.N. Security Council which many argued is a violation of section 9 of the Constitution yet the media cheered him on as ‘King of the world’.

The liberals also insulted Ivanka Trump by saying she’s only a shoe designer or a handbag designer so she has no business being there.

Imagine that President Trump gave a speech praising a strong Europe.

Imagine that he called forthrightly on Russia to stop its aggression in Ukraine and join the community of responsible nations.

Imagine that he embraced the mutual-defense commitment, so-called Article 5, of NATO.

He said that large economies and fearsome weapons aren’t enough for our survival; we need “strong families and strong values,” and “bonds of history, culture and memory.”

It argued that we must demonstrate civilizational self-confidence, the will to defend our values.

Finally, it unapologetically invoked “the West,” which, Trump noted, writes symphonies, rewards brilliance, values freedom and human dignity and has created a truly great community of nations.

All of this strikes the ears of Trump’s progressive critics the wrong way. They believe that nations are best constrained by multinational or supra-national institutions like the EU. They think that all the non-material things that lend our lives meaning — God, family, national loyalty — are atavistic, overrated or best not spoken of too much.
