Snork-worthy RCOTUS caption contest at Twitchy

Holy crap. Obama was NEAR … even IN my personal space yesterday. Ew. Ew. Ew. His bus-ocade drove down a road I know well; he even did a townhall at my alma mater …. where I hear he warned against “the GOP shutting down the government.”

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. Cuz it’s like totally the Party of the People who are NOT in Power that has spent us into oblivion. What a schmuck.

Between his preaching … I mean, speaking … engagements in Syracuse (Thursday evening) and Binghamton (Friday noon), his PR liars put out the utterly absurd tale that he saw some kids playing soccer and spontaneously asked to stop so he could kick the ball around.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. Cuz it’s like totally normal for the Secret Service to allow the president to just say “stop the car!” Not.

Now … I’ll grant you this. The stop in Tully was not on his public schedule, but neither was anything else for Friday morning. Clearly, he spent the night somewhere, got up, ate, left, etc. I get the point of not telling the whole world where he is at every moment. It wouldn’t be safe.

Plus there’s the sticky problem of announcing BusØbama’s actual route … you know, like they did last time? When mean-spirited racists stood on the roadside holding politically incorrect signs, pics of which are STILL floating around the interwebs. Can’t have that happen again, right? Or is it left ….

What I object to about his visit to Tully is the supremely stupid LIE that it was “spontaneous.” Let’s just overlook for a skinny minute that the Secret Service carries guns and doesn’t really answer to President “I’d rather play cards” Pantywaist anyhow. So he can’t order them to make a sudden change in schedule. Let’s just look at three little factoids I found easily on the net:

A. There was no practice scheduled, yet somehow BOTH Varsity teams were waiting at the field to shake his hand and laugh at his jokes.

B. When you’re driving from Syracuse to Binghamton, you take Rte 81 South. Even if there was a practice going on, nobody could have seen it half a mile away, from a vehicle moving south, at speed, on the FAR side of a divided highway.

C. And even if someone did see a practice (that was not scheduled) from a distance (that was absurd), the reality of a presidential motorcade suddenly deciding to take the next exit and backtrack over unplanned and unfamiliar roads is just beyond ridiculous.

Sooooooooo … add one more lie to Øbama’s list. (Dearest speculates that a big donor called in a favor and they made it “spontaneous” to avoid pissing off other donors and to prevent Mean People from showing up with signs and cameras. Sounds about right.)

On the plus side, one of the photos WH photographer Pete Sousa sent out from the not-spontaneous visit sparked a little captioning fun at Twitchy.

“Phony” scandals?

Please lecture us about phony scandals

No matter how “phony” Obama may believe the Benghazi, IRS, (etc. etc. etc.) scandals are or how biased his lapdog media is in reporting on them, the American public can tell that Democrats are doing a crap job in Washington.

Before the federal government can pass a law, it must be passed by both the House of Representatives and the Senate, then signed by the President. At any given time, 2/3 or 3/3 are controlled by either Republicans or Democrats. The dominant controlling party obviously has the most power over what laws get passed and thus bears the majority of the responsibility for how well the government serves the people.

As you can see from this graphic, trust in government has been strongly correlated with which party this is. When Democrats have been in control, trust has fallen and distrust has risen. When Republicans have been in control, the opposite has been true.

OBAMACARE: Nancy Pelosi described ObamaCare (The Affordable Care Act) as something that “captures the spirit of our founders” and will “put money back in the pockets of America’s patients” (WSJ, House.gov). POLLS show:

Only 37% have a favorable view of the law, down 9 points from a minority of 46% who approved of it at the time the Democrat-controlled Congress voted it into law. Meanwhile, Obama is spending money we don’t have to drum up support for this law that was passed more than four years ago, yet was so bad the very Congress that passed it went and exempted itself from.

RACE RELATIONS: When George Zimmerman was acquitted, Obama and many Democrat leaders said the nation needed to have an “honest discussion about race.” POLLS showed:

Only 35% of Americans agreed.

ECONOMY: In his latest series of speeches on the economy this summer, President Obama has insisted that “America has fought its way back” and has already “recovered” (LA Times). POLLS show:

Only 28% of Americans believe the U.S. economy is recovering.

ABORTION: Democrats are more pro-abortion than ever. In the 2012 election cycle, their TV ads were filled with pro-choice messaging, abortion rights activists were main speakers at the DNC, and the head of Planned Parenthood even introduced President Obama at a campaign rally (Politico).

Only 15% of Americans believe abortion is morally acceptable.

36% don’t know or don’t care about the morality of abortion.

49% believe abortion is morally wrong.

This video concisely summarizes the Benghazi scandal, then adds new and explosive information. I.e., that multiple Arab news sources have traced a direct connection between money that Obama sent to the Middle East and the group that killed four Americans during their assault on our embassy in Benghazi.

Since they didn’t milk the media by building this up for weeks and weeks prior to the arrival ZOMG and meeting the family ZOMG and getting a name ZOMG … you know, like how they did when they got Bo, I’m thinking this is definitely a MEDIA SQUIRREL event to distract attention from the worsening situation in the Middle East and the fact that people here at home are waking up to the economic train wreck that is ObamaCare.

Twitchy listed a selection of possible Secret Service Code Names for the new pooch:

  • Dinner Belle

When the first First Dog was named Bo, folks speculated it stood for the Narcissist in Chief, Barack Obama. We’re thinking they’ve done it again with Sunny. “If I had a son, he would look like Trayvon.” Sunny looks just like Bo, minus the WHITE parts.

I’m happy for Bo. He’ll be lots happier with another high energy dog to play with, though I am wondering if Sunny will need her own personal, six-figure, tax-payer funded, groomer-feeder-trainer-walker or if Bo will maybe share his with her.

Ditto the private air travel to various five star Obama vacays.

Some thoughts on being an American Catholic

I am and always have been Catholic because I believe the doctrines and I am certain it is where God wants me to be. It hasn’t been easy maintaining affiliation with a church that, in far too many respects, has been a spiritual desert, but it’s where God put me, not only by birth but also by election.

One of the most distressing things for me has been the overly-long commitment of American Catholics to the Democrat Party. I understand the roots … when Catholic immigrants were flooding our shores, Republicans were Protestant and openly hostile. And of course there’s the not-so-saintly Kennedys.

But dang. Even after having been raised from birth to college in a devoutly Democrat environment, I managed to figure out before the Reagan years that Democrats were promoting abortion. I have tried to understand my Democrat Catholic friends. Some of them are legitimately devout. Yet they turn a blind eye to abortion because “social justice” … or something.

I just don’t get it. Never did.

If there’s been one thing I am grateful for about the Obama years, it is that so many Catholics have finally opened their eyes to just how anti-God and evil the Democrat Party really is. FINALLY, I’ve got leaders in my church that not only don’t make me cringe, but who actually teach and preach and walk the walk!

I just read a news report that Bishop Thomas Tobin of Providence, Rhode Island, has announced he switched his party registration to Republican effective January 2013. He has been a Democrat since 1969, but after the 2012 Democrat Convention, he decided that he could no longer be associated with the party which was “just too pro-abortion.” During an interview about his decision, he called opposition to abortion “the linchpin, the foundation, around which all our discussion of human life has to be built.”

I just want to smack him upside the head and ask him, “HEY, CAPTAIN KOOLAID!! WHAT THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN THINKING ALL THESE YEARS?!”

2012?! 2012?!?!?!

I registered Democrat in 1972 and figured out by 1976 that I had to leave because it was plain as the nose on my face that abortion was and is THE social justice issue of the century. This guy is a professional Christian and it took him from 1969 to 2012?! And they made him a Bishop?!

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Whistle blower says Benghazi coverup more serious than we thought

We already knew about the illegal and immoral stand down orders that came from the White House. And we recently heard that the CIA was using their Benghazi facility to illegally ship missiles to the Syrian rebels.

Now we’re hearing the most disturbing thing of all. During the Benghazi raid, al-Qaeda stole 400 surface-to-air missiles (SAM) from the CIA facility. A SAM is a heat-seeking, shoulder-launched weapon that a single, mobile, ground-based warrior can use to shoot down an airplane.

They WANT a race war

IMHO, this is the only explanation for the non-stop race baiting we’ve had inflicted on us since Obama took office.

Among the worst offenders is Al Sharpton. You really have to watch this two minute video clip all the way through to get an appreciation for just what a scum-sucking, bottom-feeder represents the Left on race issues.

And what is the fruit of this evil? Here’s one example:

In Seattle, a 35-year-old black man held an unarmed white man at gun point and demanded that he apologize “for all the things white people did to black people.” The victim said that he was “scared out of his mind” and “apologized profusely.” The aggressor was apprehended and identified by his victim who is suspected of menacing three other people the same night. He has a weapons-related conviction from 2002, an obstruction of justice conviction from 2006 and a reckless endangerment conviction from 2009.
