Day One of Obama Two = Forty

This started out as a continuation on the theme of Why We Are So Screwed (see https://polination.wordpress.com/2013/01/19/democrats-hate-god-its-that-simple/) but ended up being a bunch of fun stuff about the Jewish calendar and Noah’s Ark.

I confess that I was pretty much totally creeped out when I realized that the FIRST full day of Obama’s SECOND term was the FORTIETH anniversary of Roe v. Wade. ONE, TWO and FORTY are all Big Important Numbers in the Bible. And there’s no question Obama is THE most rabidly pro-abortion president EVER.

I’ve talked about ONE (God) and TWO (complementary or contrasting pairs) before, but I haven’t explored FORTY in any depth, so I did that this morning during my Bible and Java time on the couch. (Fave part of the day!)

According to my Bible Dictionary, FORTY is associated with new developments in the history of God’s Big Plan, particularly with periods of TRIAL and CHASTISEMENT.

  • TRIAL: Jesus was tempted by the Devil for 40 days and 40 nights in the desert, and won the battle.
  • CHASTISEMENT: The Israelites spent 40 years wandering in the desert because of the golden calf incident.

Funny how in the number FORTY, there is a SINGLE number with TWO meanings. And when you add the ONE number with the TWO meanings you get, tada, God’s Big Number, THREE.

I started looking up the FORTY incidents my Bible Dictionary listed, beginning with Noah and the Ark, when God sent FORTY days and FORTY nights of heavy rain and drowned everybody but Noah and those with him in the ark.

Obviously, mega CHASTISEMENT for the sinful earthlings who drowned, but I’m thinking it was no picnic being shut up on that boat with all those animals in all that humidity, so mega TRIAL for the righteous. Ew.

But Scripture provides a bunch of actual dates and time frames within the whole story that got me intrigued. I had so much fun researching, it took up the whole day! I never did get to any more of the FORTY incidents. LOL

The Jewish calendar is composed of TWELVE lunar months of twenty-nine or thirty days, for a total of 354 days. Like us, they use leap years to keep it from getting out of synch with the solar cycle. Below is a list of the common months and the major holidays with the 2013 dates for our calendar.

1. Tishrei (30 days)

  • Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year) Sept 5, 2013.
  • Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) Sept 14, 2013.
  • Sukkot (Feast of Booths/Tabernacles) Sept 19-25, 2013.

2. Marcheshvan (29 days)

3. Kislev (30 days)

  • Hannukah Nov 28-Dec 5, 2013

4. Tevet (29 days)

5. Shevat (30 days)

  • In leap years, they stick an extra month in between Shevat and Adar.

6. Adar (29 days)

  • Purim February 23-24, 2013.

7. Nisan (30 days)

  • Pesach (Passover) Always begins on Nisan 15, lasts 7 or 8 days and celebrates God freeing the Hebrews from slavery in Egypt. Mar 26 – Apr 2, 2013.

8. Iyar (29 days)

  • Yom Ha’atzmaut (Israel Independence Day) – Apr 16, 2013.
  • Yom Yerushalayim (Jerusalem Day) – May 7, 2013

9. Sivan (30 days)

  • Shavuot (Pentecost) – May 15-16, 2013

10. Tammuz (29 days)

11. Av (30 days)

  • Tisha B’av (The Ninth of Av) A fast day that commemorates two of the saddest events in Jewish history that both occurred on the ninth of Av – the destruction of the First Temple in 586 BCE and of the Second Temple in 70 CE. July 16, 2013.

12. Elul (29 days)

According to Genesis 7 and 8:

2/10: The Noahs got themselves and the animals on to the ark during the second month, Marcheshvan, which falls in October.

2/17: The rain started a week later “in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month.”

7/17: The ark “came to rest on the mountains of Ararat” one hundred and fifty days later “in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month.” This date is always the third day of Passover, which falls in the spring.

Can you imagine what it was like on the ark, with the animals and the humidity and the motion sickness and the relatives living in close quarters? I bet the Pilgrims had a whole new understanding of the Noah story after their arduous boat ride across the Atlantic in their itty bitty, mega crowded Mayflower!

10/1: The level of the water “continued to diminish” until “the first day of the tenth month” when “the tops of the mountains appeared.” The tenth month is Tammuz; it falls in June.

11/10 part one: “At the end of forty days Noah opened the hatch of the ark that he had made.” FORTY days after the first of Tammuz is the tenth of Av.

Both destructions of the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem happened on the 9th of Av. I love it that the hope-filled day when Noah first opened the hatch of the ark was the 10th of Av. It’s like God gave the Jews a sign of hope about the Temples centuries before they would even need it.

11/10 part two: On this day, Noah “released a RAVEN. It flew back and forth until the waters dried off from the earth. Then Noah released a DOVE, to see if the waters had lessened on the earth.”

I was puzzled about the RAVEN and the DOVE, until I thought to surf a bird guide and learned that ravens live on mountains and eat almost anything, including carrion, while doves live among tall grasses or groves of trees and eat mostly seeds.

Raven Dove

The RAVEN didn’t come right back, because it was comfortable spending time on the mountains that had been exposed. But it “flew back and forth” for a while, maybe because ravens are really smart and this one knew the people on the ark were good for a meal of something other than carrion (which I expect was plentiful, what with the way dead animals float) and a place out of the wind to catch some zzzs.

Noah released a DOVE to see if “the waters had lessened on the earth”, because the dove would not be comfortable staying out until there was dry land and seed-bearing plants down in the foothills and valleys.

11/17: “Noah waited yet seven days more and again released the dove from the ark. In the evening the dove came back to him, and there in its bill was a plucked-off olive leaf! So Noah knew that the waters had diminished on the earth.” They’d have been in July more or less.

Olive trees

11/24: “He waited yet another seven days and then released the dove; but this time it did not come back.” That was a good sign, since it meant there was not only dry land, but also plants that had flowered and were now bearing seeds in the valleys below.

1/1: “In the first month, on the first day of the month, Noah removed the covering of the ark and saw that the surface of the ground had dried.”

I was puzzled why Noah waited five weeks after the dove took off before removing the “covering of the ark”, but then I went back to the instructions God gave him for building in Chapter Six. There were only two openings, one “for daylight” (the “hatch”) and “the entrance on its side” (the “covering of the ark”).

Obviously, opening the latter was a big deal, both mechanically and because the animals would have gotten very antsy to be let loose once it was opened. It makes sense that he waited until he was sure there was habitat available for them.

Can you IMAGINE what it meant for the Noahs to get that Big Door open and start sending the animals off the ark? And wow … on New Year’s Day, no less! Best New Year’s Ever!!

2/27: The journey ended in Marcheshvan, the same month it had started the year before. “In the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dry. Then God said to Noah: Go out of the ark.”

SUMMARY: The Noahs boarded on Marcheshvan 10, the rain began on Marcheshvan 17 and they debarked the following year on Marcheshvan 27. Since the Jewish lunar calendar is about eleven days shorter than our solar calendar, it works out that they boarded with the animals ONE week before the rain started, which is kinda like the SEVEN days of Creation, then were on board for ONE solar year. That is so cool!

The religion of the Left

2009_03 03 Narcissus Obama

The Age of Humanism By Dr. Steven Lambert – January 18, 2013

Humanism is the religion of Narcissism (self-love), which in essence is self-worship and self-deification. It is the ultimate anti-God, self-centered religion originated by the master-religionist, Satan, when Lucifer (his original name) suddenly decided upon original sedition against God in Heaven, for which he was instantaneously banned from God’s presence and summarily evicted from His Domain, Heaven.

In a prophetic taunt against the “King of Babylon,” Isaiah delineated the specific ego-centric ruminations of the original apostate, wherein he five times invoked the two-word credo of narcissism – ”I will” – and the inane, insane, and utterly impossible goal of supplanting and surpassing Almighty God:

“How you have fallen from heaven, O star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, You who have weakened the nations! “But you said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, And I will sit on the mount of assembly In the recesses of the north. ‘I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’ (Isa. 14:12-14)

Satan is the archenemy of God and the master-religionist. The realm he operates in is the “domain of darkness,” and the religion he originated and propagates is the ultimate antithesis of bona fide spirituality—narcissism. In his final, end-time coup de gras against God, he himself will enter into the antichrist and possess him, resulting in this person being the human embodiment of the devil himself!

We live now in The Age of Humanism in which the religion of narcissism and its destructive effects are ubiquitous. The insidious spirit of humanism is a strange and almost counterintuitive dichotomy of personal self-centered narcissism and cultural collectivism that together form a powerful force of unification. It is not new, but rather has existed and been a highly effective tool in the arsenal of Satan going all the way back to the beginnings of the first world-super-power, Babylon, led by the first world-dictator and antichrist, Nimrod.

The spirit of narcissism entered into the mainstream of America during the hedonistic 1960s and now has metastasized to every segment of American society. A popular New Age astrology-steeped song of the ’60s dubbed that period in American history, “The Age of Aquarius.” Indeed, antibiblical, humanistic theosophies and philosophies are now pandemic around the globe and have been infused into the very foundations, fabric, and functions of every nation in the world.

Symptomatically, mankind gropes and longs, almost pathetically now, for an ever‑elusive, idyllic, universal, imaginary, utopian “peace” and utter tranquility, in which evil and all semblance of conflict is non‑existent. “Peace, m-a-a-a-n, peace!” has become the de facto universal mantra.

The culturally-beatified drug‑toking, Marxism-indoctrinated, lyrical bard and musical “pied piper” of the hedonistic ’60s, John Lennon, whose mega‑famous group, the Beatles, publicly and blasphemously claimed at the pinnacle of their success to have eclipsed the popularity of Jesus Christ in the hearts and minds of people around the world, transfixed millions of naïve, sophomoric, disillusioned, deluded, and iconoclastic listeners with the prospect of an imaginary, idealistic, utopian, hedonistic, socialistic, one‑world, Eastern‑religion‑based world, in which there were…

  • …“no countries” (one world, with no national sovereignty);
  • …not “anything to fight for” (no protectionism-necessitated international conflicts);
  • …and the world was “as one” (one‑world government and religion);
  • …“no possessions” (communism, where all property is communal, state‑owned, and private ownership eliminated);
  • …“no religion”(except false New Age humanism and false Eastern-religions; he really means no Christ, no Christianity; but rather a hedonism‑approving antichrist);
  • …“no heaven” (heaven, the Domain of God does not exist, thus there is no Almighty God);
  • …“no hell” (no right, no wrong, only self-determined morality or amorality, no Divine accountability, eternal judgment, and retribution);
  • …and everyone “living for today” (no day of Divine reckoning, no sin, no retribution for sin).

“Imagine” such a utopia, Lennon cajoled listeners in the song so titled, which is precisely what one would have to do because such a place is strictly a figment of a Marxist-indoctrinated imagination and drug‑induced hallucinations that does not now and never will exist in this world.

Humanism, powered by the fundamental and far-reaching effects of narcissism, is the primary underlying cause of the pervasive spiritual, societal, political, and economic decimation and decline we are experiencing in America and the nations of the world.

Matthew Modine: Celibri-Ghoul

Actor Matthew Modine joined the ranks of other self-promoting celebri-ghouls who have crawled out of the fancy pants woodwork in order to politicize a tragedy and, maybe, give themselves another precious 15 minutes in the limelight. I watched Modine’s video … but only because it’s so brief (42 seconds) I couldn’t think of a decent excuse not to.

It offers zero information, just pushes the Modine name and offers an alleged invitation to “join the conversation” about finding “responsible solutions” to gun violence. Riiiiiiiiiiiight. Check out below how Modine behaves when someone actually tries to join the conversation and talk about responsible solutions.

Tweeted by Modine:

Must it always b necessary for us 2 live through cruel & deadly atrocities in order 4 enlightenment and change 2 occur?

Tweet replies to Modine:

  • derekahunter – “Must it always b necessary for us 2 live through cruel & deadly atrocities.” You made “Gross Anatomy,” we didn’t.
  • Joseph Phillips – Dear Hollywood, just because you pretend for a living doesn’t mean your opinions actually matter.
  • TomJB Joseph Phillips – The mental giants among the Hollywood elite seem to forget that their success, fame, riches, and awards come from speaking words written by other people, not their own.
  • Gloves Donahue, Jr. – Matthew Modine? Is he a celebrity?
  • Robert Hoover – Well he made some movies a very long time ago.
  • judy w. miller – Haven’t seen him in anything lately. Schmoozing for a job?

Zing.

Comedian Steven Crowder and actor Adam Baldwin also got in on the fun.

  • MatthewModine – 2d amendment is archaic.
  • Orpheus75 – Hey Modine, is your First Amendments rights “archaic ” as well? You sure do enjoy the free use of that one.
  • scrowder – Archaic? Modine confuses 2nd amendment with his once viable career.
  • MatthewModine – our Constitution has been updated by way of amendments.
  • adamsbaldwin – Yes. Where’s your proposed amendment to repeal #Amendment2?
  • GunRightsAlert – Bill of Rights was prereq for ratification of Constitution. Repeal of any part of it would invalidate that contract.
  • karen adkins – Matthew, read the Constitution. At least then you’d be an INFORMED lib jackass.

Crowder remarked that when libs use word “enlightenment”, what they really mean is “I can’t really back up my stance, so I’ll act like you wouldn’t get it anyway.” They do the same thing with the word “Christian.” Apparently, Christians are not allowed to stick up for their own beliefs because, according to Leftists, it’s not “Christian” of us to do so. I think Jesus and the Apostles missed the memo on that.

Actor Sebastian Roché jumped in on Modine’s side. Baldwin makes quick work of him.

  • sebroche – I am appalled by the rude responses from so called christians when you speak about gun laws, something seriously wrong with that.
  • adamsbaldwin – Jesus might say that wielding a sword (weapon) in self-defense or defense of family & friends is among the greatest of loves.
  • MarleighNolan – Evil will never be disarmed! It is my right to protect my family against evil.
  • MatthewModine – I’m sure no god would give a blessing to weapons designed for the single purpose of killing people.
  • TheRickWilson – David. Rock. Goliath. Thanks for playing.
  • John – Samson. Jawbone. Ass.
  • DaTechGuyblog – Ah The left, always striving to make gods in their own image. There shall be no other gods but “me.”
  • scrowder – As if we needed any more irrefutable proof that liberal elitists don’t read The Bible.
  • Bob Lee – Dear Mr. Modine. Ignorance can be fixed. Stupidity is forever.
  • Cameron Ford – Fans & movie-goers = customers. You shouldn’t argue politics or religion with customers.
  • scrowder – Since MatthewModine is “sure,” why argue?
  • diznee1 – MatthewModine Do u know God personally? He welcomes u with open arms. Just ask.
  • MatthewModine – which god? there are dozens of mythological characters that man has given this title. I choose a loving one.
  • peteee363 – so modine doesn’t even know who god is, that answers alot!
  • ChrstphrPaul – Mars and Ares could not be reached for comment.
  • MatthewModine – yeah. two more make believe gods that love and encourage human destruction.
  • adamsbaldwin – Two more make-believe Gods. Unlike, you know, “our Lord and Savior” Obama, who is “the light and the future.”

It must chap Modine’s precious little backside that his only successful film is one that conservatives love … not to mention that he co-starred in it with Adam Baldwin! LOL

Modine & Baldwin in Full Metal Jacket

  • adamsbaldwin – MatthewModine: Is your desire that weaker people should be disarmed against stronger, evil outlaws? How’s that for equality or fairness?
  • MatthewModine – Education and loving parents might help more -when was the last time u used ur gun to protect your family?
  • GTFOBigGovt – “Education! Parents! But lets ban guns. Oh and, god is a myth JSYK”
  • ZoriahShepard – Last time I checked, a textbook and curfew are useless against home invaders…but hey Matthew – try it out and let us know how it works for you.

Look what happened when Aussie’s had their guns taken away.

Tired of being schooled, Modine keeps on tweeting, but blocks replies.

2013_01 15 Modine's bad netiquette

  • BrianGentry21 – Just because it hasn’t happened that means it won’t?
  • walterc – I’ve never used a fire extinguisher either, but I have one and I know how to use it in case I ever need it. Idiot.
  • FCallahan – Also never used my airbag or needed my seatbelts or helmet on motorcycle.
  • Steve_J – Rather have a gun and not need it vs not having a gun and needing it.
  • Fatalerror94 – It’s like arguing against having lightning rods because lighting has never struck your house.
  • Brett McMicken – the most telling thing of all is, i have yet to hear of a conservative begrudge a celebrity, regardless of his/her politics, the right to live in a gated mansion with state-of-the-art security and armed guards.

I guess Modine’s “god of love” approves of bad netiquette. Or something. Next he resorted to spamming.

2013_01 15 Modine's worse netiquette

Here, I get to decide who has the last word. I choose Steven Crowder.

scrowder – Want to not get schooled when debating gun rights? Watch this:

Source:

http://twitchy.com/2013/01/15/matthew-modine-says-get-enlightened-you-archaic-constitution-clingers-crowder-adam-baldwin-destroy/

Note: Some of the above was actually tweeted as links to other places Modine shot off his mouth or were posted at Twitchy in the comments section. For simplicity’s sake, I just presented them all in the same format, rearranged for max reading pleasure. IOW, it’s all fake, but accurate. Therefore, okay by Leftist standards, right?

I did not know this

I’ve been reading the Catholic Catechism in daily emailed chunkettes. I don’t recall ever hearing this bit articulated quite this way:

Jews are not collectively responsible for Jesus’ death

597 The historical complexity of Jesus’ trial is apparent in the Gospel accounts. The personal sin of the participants (Judas, the Sanhedrin, Pilate) is known to God alone. Hence we cannot lay responsibility for the trial on the Jews in Jerusalem as a whole, despite the outcry of a manipulated crowd and the global reproaches contained in the apostles’ calls to conversion after Pentecost. Jesus himself, in forgiving them on the cross, and Peter in following suit, both accept “the ignorance” of the Jews of Jerusalem and even of their leaders. Still less can we extend responsibility to other Jews of different times and places, based merely on the crowd’s cry: “His blood be on us and on our children!”, a formula for ratifying a judicial sentence. As the Church declared at the Second Vatican Council:

… [N]either all Jews indiscriminately at that time, nor Jews today, can be charged with the crimes committed during his Passion… [T]he Jews should not be spoken of as rejected or accursed as if this followed from holy Scripture.

White Crucifixion by Marc Chagall

Above: White Crucifixion by Marc Chagall, a Jew, who imagines Jesus’ crucifixion here in light of the European anti-Semitism of the 1930s.

All sinners were the authors of Christ’s Passion

598 In her Magisterial teaching of the faith and in the witness of her saints, the Church has never forgotten that “sinners were the authors and the ministers of all the sufferings that the divine Redeemer endured.” Taking into account the fact that our sins affect Christ himself, the Church does not hesitate to impute to Christians the gravest responsibility for the torments inflicted upon Jesus, a responsibility with which they have all too often burdened the Jews alone:

We must regard as guilty all those who continue to relapse into their sins. Since our sins made the Lord Christ suffer the torment of the cross, those who plunge themselves into disorders and crimes crucify the Son of God anew in their hearts (for he is in them) and hold him up to contempt. And it can be seen that our crime in this case is greater in us than in the Jews. As for them, according to the witness of the Apostle, “None of the rulers of this age understood this; for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” We, however, profess to know him. And when we deny him by our deeds, we in some way seem to lay violent hands on him.

Nor did demons crucify him; it is you who have crucified him and crucify him still, when you delight in your vices and sins.

Hobby Lobby Defies Obama Administration with Civil Disobedience for Religious Liberty by Ken Klukowski – Dec 28, 2012

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/12/28/Hobby-Lobby-Defies-Obama-Administration-with-Civil-Disobedience-for-Religious-Liberty

“We must obey God rather than men!”—Acts 5:29.

Now that Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor has denied Hobby Lobby’s application for an emergency injunction protecting them from Obamacare’s HHS Mandate on abortion and birth control, Hobby Lobby has decided to defy the federal government to remain true to their religious beliefs, at enormous risk and financial cost.

Hobby Lobby is wholly owned and controlled by the Green family, who are evangelical Christians. The Greens are committed to running their business in accordance with their Christian faith, believing that God wants them to conduct their professional business in accordance with the family’s understanding of the Bible. Hobby Lobby’s mission statement includes, “Honoring the Lord in all we do by operating the company … consistent with Biblical principles.”

The HHS Mandate goes into effect for Hobby Lobby on Jan. 1, 2013. The Greens correctly understand that some of the drugs the HHS Mandate requires them to cover at no cost in their healthcare plans cause abortions.

Today Hobby Lobby announced that they will not comply with this mandate to become complicit in abortion, which the Greens believe ends an innocent human life. Given Hobby Lobby’s size (it has 572 stores employing more than 13,000 people), by violating the HHS Mandate, it will be subject to over $1.3 million in fines per day. That means over $40 million in fines in January alone. If their case takes another ten months to get before the Supreme Court—which would be the earliest it could get there under the normal order of business—the company would incur almost a half-billion dollars in fines. And then of course the Supreme Court would have to write an opinion in what would likely be a split decision with dissenters, which could easily take four or six months and include hundreds of millions of dollars in additional penalties.

This is civil disobedience, consistent with America’s highest traditions when moral issues are at stake. The Greens are a law-abiding family. They have no desire to defy their own government. But as the Founders launched the American Revolution because they believed the British government was violating their rights, the Greens believe that President Barack Obama and Secretary Kathleen Sebelius are commanding the Greens to sin against God, and that no government has the lawful authority to do so.

The Christian tradition of defying government commands to do something wrong goes back to the very birth of Christianity. When the apostles were ordered not to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with anyone, the Book of Acts records: “Peter and the other apostles replied: ‘We must obey God rather than men! The God of our fathers raised Jesus from the dead—whom you had killed by hanging him on a tree.’”

Eleven of the twelve apostles—including Peter—would lose their lives for the sake of spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ; only the apostle John died of old age. They were determined to obey God’s will at all costs.

This issue of civil disobedience is never to be undertaken lightly. The Bible teaches Christians to submit to all legitimate governmental authority (e.g., Romans 13:1), and so a person can only disobey the government when there is no other way to obey God.

But here in America, the Constitution is the Supreme Law of the Land, and in its First Amendment it protects against a government establishment of an official religion and separately protects the free exercise of religion. On top of that, Congress passed the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993 (RFRA) to specifically add an additional layer of protection against government actions that violate a person’s religious beliefs.

The HHS Mandate is a gross violation of the religious beliefs of the Green family. The issue before the courts here is whether the Greens religious-liberty rights include running their secular, for-profit business consistent with their religious beliefs. In other words, is religious liberty just what you do in church on a Sunday morning, or does it include what you do during the week at your job?

The Greens are now putting their fortunes on the line to do what they believe is right. The courts should side with them, affirming a broad scope of religious liberty under the Constitution and RFRA. And the Supreme Court should resolve this matter with dispatch in their favor.

Millions of Christians across the country feel exactly the same way as the Greens. The Obama administration has issued a statist command that is a declaration of war on people of faith who object to abortion, and civil disobedience could break out all over the country unless the courts set this matter right—and quickly.

Some things too beautiful to be missed!

I posted this on the 19th:

Indeed, the word of God is living and effective, sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating even between soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and able to discern reflections and thoughts of the heart. No creature is concealed from him, but everything is naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must render an account. Hebrews 4:12-13

University pays up for expelling Christian

Tolerance is a two way street

Eastern Michigan University has agreed to pay “a sum of money” as court-ordered punishment for expelling a Christian student from a counseling program and to remove the expulsion from her record.

The 6th Circuit said the evidence showed the student “was willing to work with all clients and to respect the school’s affirmation directives in doing so.”

“That is why she asked to refer gay and lesbian clients (and some heterosexual clients) if the conversation required her to affirm their sexual practices. What more could the rule require?” the judges said.

“Surely, for example, the ban on discrimination against clients based on their religion (1) does not require a Muslim counselor tell a Jewish client that his religious beliefs are correct if the conversation takes a turn in that direction and (2) does not require an atheist counselor to tell a person of faith that there is a God if the client is wrestling with faith-based issues.”

The judges said: “Tolerance is a two-way street. Otherwise, the rule mandates orthodoxy, not anti-discrimination.”

ADF said even though counseling referrals are a common and accepted professional practice, the university instead chose to expel Ward “when she sought to avoid violating her religious beliefs by referring a potential client to another counselor.”
