The ideological war

Obama mocks financial success as ‘blind luck’ [3:06]

He’s got one thing right; we ARE in an ideological war here. Of course, I think his depiction of what characterizes our two sides is a stinking load of donkey doo. But at least he gets it that we’re not just at war with radical Muslims, but also with our fellow Americans.

What he says about our side is so wrong, I don’t know where to start. However, I know for many facts that his claim that his side embraces “what works” is utter BALONEY!

  • High taxation slows the economy, decreasing both jobs and government revenue.
  • Rent control laws decrease the availability of decent, affordable housing.
  • Gun control laws increase the rate of gun crime.
  • Since abortion was legalized, the rates of unwed teen pregnancy and fatherless homes has skyrocketed.

Yet HIS side continues to support and demand more and more of the same!

Furthermore, his mocking of successful people, saying they owe it all to “blind luck” and “women doing other people’s laundry”, is proof we did not take “you didn’t build that” out of context.  Besides which, HOW many times have he and his lackeys declared it was OBAMA who got bin Laden?!

The following is from the speech he made announcing bin Laden was dead:

“And so shortly after taking office, I directed Leon Panetta, the director of the CIA, to make the killing or capture of bin Laden the top priority of our war against al Qaeda.”

Translation: “Bush failed to get bin Laden. It took ME, Barack Obama, to get bin Laden!”

“I was briefed on a possible lead to bin Laden. … I met repeatedly with my national security team … I determined that we had enough intelligence to take action, and authorized an operation to get Osama bin Laden and bring him to justice. Today, at my direction, the United States launched a targeted operation against that compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan.”

Translation: “You cannot believe how hard I worked on this! Those people couldn’t have done diddly if I weren’t at the helm, directing every single one of their thoughts and actions!”

“The death of bin Laden marks the most significant achievement to date in our nation’s effort to defeat al Qaeda.”

Translation: “I sent our most elite military force against an unarmed guy in his jimjams and that’s waayyyyyyyyyy more significant than all that crap Booosh did, removing Iraq as an al Qaeda haven and turning it into a democratic ally of the United States.”

“We know well the costs of war. These efforts weigh on me every time I, as Commander-in-Chief, have to sign a letter to a family that has lost a loved one”

Translation: “I don’t want you to know that my office sends bereaved military families identical form letters signed for me by an auto-pen.”

I cannot WAIT for this hypocrite to be gone and a real leader, someone whose values I respect and whose leadership I trust, is running things.

PLF’s spokesman says,

“The Founders understood that the power to tax, if misused, involves the power to destroy, as Chief Justice John Marshall put it. Therefore, they viewed the Origination Clause as a vital safeguard for liberty. They insisted that the power to initiate new taxes should be left with the lawmakers who are most directly accountable to voters – members of the House, who are elected every two years by local districts.”

It’s such a beautifully baited trap … I can’t help thinking Roberts saw all this when he voted for the tax thing, KWIM?

Obama Health Reform and Wait Times Visualization (In Lego!) [2:10]

In 2006, Massachusetts passed health care reform that implemented a number of policies that are now being mirrored in the Obama health reform plan. The president has repeatedly claimed that his plan will lower health care costs but not decrease health care quality. This visualization looks at how the Massachusetts plan has panned out in terms of cost and wait times.

Obama uses Kerry to slam SEALs

Click on graphics to embiggen.

Remember the 2008 candidate version of Barack Obama? The one who promised over and over and over to bring a New Kind of Politics to Washington?

In Barack’s latest Same-Old-Democrat-Slime move, he’s got fake war hero and failed presidential contender, John The Swiftboated Kerry writing to Obama supporters to Donate Donate Donate.

His argument?

Those nasty, lying Navy SEAL ads are hurting Barack just like those nasty, lying Swift Boat ads hurt him!

(One can only hope.)

In the letter, Kerry says,

“No matter how self-evidently false the attacks are, or how disreputable the people telling them may be, there’s no attack that can’t take hold.”

Navy SEALs? Disreputable liars? Riiiiiight.

Back in 2004, 250+ Swift Boat veterans went public to protest John Kerry’s contention that he was fit to be Commander-in-Chief. They published a book and ran ads on television and the internet.

Despite the fact that the Swifties damaged Kerry’s campaign enough that it possibly cost him the election, Kerry never responded to their accusations, never released his military records, never sued for slander.

In his Send-Barack-Money-to-Fight-SEALs letter, Kerry also says he “honors and appreciates” the service of his fellow veterans. Riiiiiight. I’m sure his honor and appreciation are what motivated him to tell a group of students,

“You know, education – if you make the most of it – you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.” [October 2006]

That which cannot continue will not continue

Democrats have only one approach to economic policy … raise taxes and increase regulations. That is why they top the list of Worst States for Business and why companies flee them to relocate in business friendly States like Texas.

Obama’s upside down economy

Mitt Responds To Obama: “Liberal Policies Don’t Make Good Jobs!” [7:16]

Good speech, easy to understand. Obama talks and talks about “fairness” and wants to focus on making us hate the rich. But I do not care how rich the rich are! I do care about how poor the poor are. So did the Founders.

What the wealthy do with their dough is between them and God, not between them and Barack Obama. His economic policies have hurt the middle class and the poor the most. The wealthy can handle a dip in income, right? Not so much those of us who live near the edge.

Even those who have a nest egg can’t go on for long using it to pay for the basics. Those who live on the raggedly edge of an old shoe string, paycheck to paycheck, scraping to make the rent every month, those people cannot handle ANY dip.

According to God, coveting is akin to murder! It makes sense, since envy is a soul killer and God cares way more about our eternal souls than about our temporal bodies. So should we.

“Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” Matthew 10:28 (NIV)

Tax cuts put people back to work!

Click on graphics to embiggen.

This graph provides a very clear demonstration of the difference between Republican and Democrat economic policies. Republicans trust the free market. Democrats trust big government.

Despite an economic bubble burst AND a major terror attack on our own soil, Bush proposed and a Republican majority Congress passed tax cuts for everyone. This action was followed immediately by an increase in jobs.

Then Democrats took over the majority in Washington and the housing bubble burst. No major terror attack or worry if we will go to war or not. In fact, by 2008, when the downturn in the economy really got rolling, the war in Iraq was mostly over and, despite what the media and Democrats were blatting, we had won.

So what do Democrats do with their economic downturn? They tax, borrow and spend of course. They instituted not one, but two of their signature fixes … a huge bail-out, followed by an even huger stimulus package. Their putative fixes did not just fail to help; they actually made the problem a whole lot worse.

Isn’t it time we put those Big Government Obama Democrats into the back seat where they belong and return leadership to the people whose free market methods have PROVEN they can produce JOBS?

2012-1995 Tax cuts put people back to work

You think the economy is bad now? Just wait until all those ObamaCare taxes kick in!

THE BEREAVEMENT GRUDGE

The original intent was to take at least a week off,as one would take time off work to mourn the passing of a loved one. After much prayer and meditation I felt that the burden of sorrow becomes lighter when you look to your family and friends for solace. When we lift our voices in unison, perhaps a compassionate God will guide us through these rocky shoals.

First,I’ve never been much of a silver-lining guy.Second place in a contest is the first loser.I fear that what has been done to us cannot be undone. If anybody can name a federal program that ever went away once it’s been established, please let me know. The fallback position for any liberal is that a failed policy just needs more money. The thought that it was a bad idea to begin with never occurs to them.Obamacare is here to stay, folks, get used to it.

There is strong evidence Benedict Roberts had originally sided with the constitutionalists on the court.Remember when I said Obama knew what the vote was minutes after it was done, thanks probably to Kagan?Do you recall how he stormed in front of the cameras, wagged his finger and warned the court about taking the ‘unprecedented’ step of overturning established law?Roberts even lobbied Kennedy hard to switch so all the blame would not fall on him.The reasons he sold the country out are known only to him,but I get the sense he knew what he was doing because immediately afterward he hopped a plane to Malta, which he referred to as ‘an isolated island fortress.’ Obama even gave him travel expenses–thirty pieces of silver.

That puddle of pudding,Boehner, boldly announced a July 11 vote to repeal Obamatax. To what end? It’s going nowhere, everybody knows it.Just a little something to tell the folks at home.McConnell has previously stated they have no intention of repealing it,and I doubt Romney would have the stomach for it either. There will be no happy ending.

Obama lied when he said it wasn’t a tax!We can nail him because he lied.Guess what?People know he lied. They think most politicians lie.Taxes only hurt those who are working. The democrat base is the very rich, who don’t care about the money, and the poor, who don’t pay anything anyway. As long as they get their free stuff,it’s all good.

What do you suppose he hired those 16,000 IRS agents for?Rush said yesterday that they will have the power to go into any business and get your payroll records and know what both you and your family make. If  they feel you’re not paying enough, or none at all for your insurance, even if your company has dropped coverage for their employees, they have the power to deduct monies from your check,as they do with FICA and withholding. This is enumerated in the first response, entitled ‘the ten worst things about Obamacare.’

A big punch in the stomach to middle class families

Not A Tax Increase? [:32]

President Obama promised that his healthcare law was not a tax increase, but now we know it is actually one of largest tax increases in history.

WSJ Chief Economist: 75% of Obamacare Costs Will Fall on Backs of Those Making $120K or Less [2:14]

Stephen Moore, Senior Economics Writer with the Wall Street Journal, told FOX and Friends this morning that nearly 75% of Obamacare costs will fall on the backs of those Americans making less than $120,000 a year.

People who do not have health insurance are already subject to the penalty of whatever natural consequences occur from not having health insurance.

I knew a woman once who suffered kidney failure while uninsured. She was treated, she survived and she told me she’d spend the rest of her life making payments to the hospital. There’s your penalty. People who have assets get those assets attached, the same as anyone else who incurs a debt. People who have no assets get thrown into the Medicaid-Medicare system they already qualified for anyway.

ObamaCare is not about improving access to or reducing the cost of health care. It’s about driving everyone into a single, government-run plan so that the people at the top can exercise total control over a huge portion of the economy as well as over our very lives.

Democrats stage walk-out

June 28, 2012: The Republican-majority House of Representatives voted to hold Attorney General Eric Holder for criminal contempt of Congress.

The Vote: 255 YEA vs. 65 NAY. Seventeen Democrats voted YEA.

149 Democrats stormed out in a huff, refusing to vote as a demonstration of their contempt for the contempt vote. It’s a shame the figures in this video are so small. I can’t tell if these immature whiners are waddling like the toddlers with loaded diapers that they apparently are channeling. Were they all singing “Neener neener neener” as well?

Democrats “Walk it Out” on House GOP Contempt Vote on Attorney General Eric Holder [:28]

On the plus side, The Holder vote kept House Democrats too busy to do much crowing at disappointed Republicans over the failure of SCOTUS to overturn ObamaCare that same morning.

Not that I care if they crow. IMHO, the Supreme Court did us all a favor by refusing to let 5 guys in robes make such a far-reaching decision the way they did with Roe v. Wade. That kind of thing belongs in the legislature where voters have more power.

Plus, now that SCOTUS has officially ruled that the “buy health insurance or else” mandate is a TAX, we have more fodder for November to throw at the Obama Democrats who swear they never raised any taxes on the middle class.

Even better, those who were ONLY concerned about overturning ObamaCare will now be highly motivated to jump into the fray and work alongside the rest of us to get the Obama Democrats OUT OF OFFICE.
