About chrissythehyphenated

I'm a 60 something wife, mom and grandmom who is homebound/disabled by severe hypersensitivity to chemicals. I fill my days with learning, loving and art. My favorite values are truth, generosity and gratitude.

Bits & Bytes

BIRD FLU: The highly contagious and lethal H5N1 virus has hit Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Maine, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Vermont, and Wisconsin. In 2015, the disease killed millions of chickens. In addition, wild birds are suffering. So far, at least 36 bald eagles have died since February.

BORDER: Since FAUXTUS took office, more than 756,109 illegals have been released into American communities. That’s more than the resident population of Boston.

CALIFORNICATION: For the fifth year in a row, public school enrollment has dropped. For the first time since 2000, the state’s K-12 population has dipped below 6 million, with large urban districts accounting for one-third of the drop. School officials say they can’t account for it. Maybe look in the mirror, people.

CHICOMS: According to Not the Bee, “These government thugs (dubbed “Big Whites”) are beating people with sticks, killing pets, and welding residents inside their homes.

DIVORCE: CLICK https://twitter.com/jordanbpeterson/status/1516088912434892803 [:41] to hear Jordan Peterson say some things I had never heard before.

EASTER MEDITATION: The Romans thought Christians needed an infusion of the first century which, come to think on it, had a lot in common with the twenty-first.

EDUCATION: School Library Journal conducted a survey, asking K-12 librarians and teachers to identify book titles they would like removed from and added to summer reading lists. These are the top ones recommended.

Several of the removes, including the number one – “To Kill a Mockingbird” – deal with racism, but focus on individuals of both races who cross the divide. By contrast, the number one and number two adds – “The New Kid” and “The Hate U Give” – appear to center entirely on how raaaaacist White people are.

Given the other titles on the remove list, I’d be totally unsurprised to find that others among the adds promote hopelessness, victimhood, and socialism. But I frankly can’t deal with looking at any more of them.

ELON MUSK: CLICK https://rumble.com/v11fjus-2017-msnbc-clip-reveals-medias-true-concern-over-musks-twitter-offer.html [2:58] to hear an update on Musk’s effort to take over and free Twitter from censorship.

LIBS OF TIKTOK: [13:27] – Tucker plays some of the clips which, he says, are worse than you imagined. Twitter has shut it down twice. WaPo has gotten involved and, incredibly, the German intelligence service.

LIFE: Jessica Barnes was in college when she found out she was pregnant. She had anxiety attacks on the way to her first three abortion appointments, by which point she was at the legal limit to get it done. So she told God, “I’m definitely having this abortion, I can’t have this baby. I don’t have the means to take care of it so if you don’t want me to have this abortion then you have to physically stop me because I’m just gonna numb myself out and do it even though I’m totally against it.” As she was driving to the appointment, she got a flat tire. The spare was also flat.

MASKS: [5:33] – A federal judge in Florida has ruled that the federal transportation mask mandate is illegal. Tucker reports on the insane Left’s response.

PENNSYLVANIA: CLICK https://twitter.com/MrAndyNgo/status/1515728625357795332 [2:19] to see “shrieking woke goblins screaming in the faces of black police officers that they are racists [language/migraine warning].” It didn’t end well for one of them and I am SO glad that cop is Black!

S&G: A recent service at Duke Divinity School started out with,

Speaker: Good morning! The Holy and Queer One be with you.

Crowd: And also with you.

Speaker: We want to affirm everyone to be who they truly are to step into the Holy One’s fire that burns away all that says we are not good enough, and refines us by the pentecostal fire to be who exactly The Great Queer One calls us to be.

Everyone: Strange One, Fabulous One, Fluid and Ever-Becoming One, do not allow us to make our ideas of You into an idol.

Speaker: You are as close to us as our own breath, and yet your essence transcends all that we can imagine.

Everyone: You are Mother, Father, and Parent. You are Sister, Brother, and Sibling. You are Drag Queen and Trans Man and Gender Fluid, incapable of limiting your vast expressions of beauty.

This is allegedly one of the top theological seminaries in the nation.

THEM: The 33% who think things are going well are the same 33% who believe that abortion on demand for no reason at all, up until and even after natural birth, at taxpayers’ expense is a civil right.

TRUMP-RUSSIA HOAX: Five associates of Hillary Clinton and her presidential campaign are invoking their Fifth Amendment rights and refusing to cooperate in the special counsel’s investigation. Legal scholar Jonathan Turley says Durham is now moving to give immunity to a key witness.

TechnoFog (link below) does a deep dive into the whole thing, if you’re interested.

GRAMMY NOTES: Soooo … yesterday, the power went out for a few hours, then when the sun came up, we saw this. This kind of fluffy winter wonderland thing is delightful at Christmas time. After Easter, not so much!

Bits & Bytes

2A: I saw this on FB – “The president who made M4s into party favors for the Taliban is telling me again that it’s too easy for Americans to get AR15s.”

DOGPILE: I’ve been using DuckDuckGo, but I recently read that they’re going to limit searches only to “recognized news sources.” Yeah, no. I can’t figure out how to make my default search use dogpile.com, so I just put it on to my tool bar.

EASTER MEDITATION: I dunno if all y’alls got anything out of my Lenten Meditations, but I certainly did and I find now that I’m loathe to suspend them. Fortunately, in the Catholic calendar, the Easter liturgical season extends all the way to Pentecost Sunday and encompasses such major feasts as Divine Mercy Sunday and Ascension. That being said … methinks that, going forward, I will be much more careful how I use the word “excruciating”!

FLORIDA: Florida has officially removed Common Core, banned public schools for teaching key concepts of CRT, and adopted the Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (BEST) standards. Gov. DeSantis calls it a “return to the basics of reading, writing, and arithmetic.”

As a result, the state’s Department of Education has examined and rejected 28 math textbooks for K–12, because they included Common Core, CRT, and/or “the unsolicited addition of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) in mathematics.”

SEL is “the process through which all young people and adults acquire and apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to develop healthy identities, manage emotions and achieve personal and collective goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions.”

Can anyone explain to me what “empathy” has to do with adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing accurately? I googled “SEL math” and found entire websites about it. I read some of the stuff, but I still don’t understand it. SEL by itself makes sense, especially for kids like Bunny who really struggle with anxiety. But incorporating it specifically into math lessons? I mean, what?

KINDNESS: I saw this on FB – “I’ve always wanted to encourage a stranger. Yesterday I dropped off my comforter to be washed when I saw a pregnant woman with her kid. I knew she would be a great person to encourage. So I wrote this note and grabbed money from my wallet. Handed it to her and left… It doesn’t take a lot to bless someone.” – Keenya Kelly

MASKS: According to the linked article, there have only been two randomized studies conducted to test whether mask mandates do anything to inhibit the spread of COVID-19. The one done in Denmark showed the masks made no difference; the researchers were forced to rewrite their paper to claim masks worked in order to get their study published.

The one done in Bangladesh supposedly showed that masks slowed the spread, but the study was so badly designed that the author himself wasn’t able to defend his conclusions. And the graph shown above – which showed zero difference – came from that study, but was omitted from the report.

Watch this video starting at 29 seconds into it where Fauci himself admits that masks don’t work.

NEBRASKA: Private tour of the largest aquarium in the country [20:05] – I was an avid aquarium hobbyist for about 30 years, but as my health got worse and worse, I had to close down my tanks one by one. At peak, I had 11. It’s been years since we had to empty the last one. I was so pleased to discover this week that I can still enjoy my hobby on YouTube! This is a great channel!

STUDENT DEBT: Squad member Pramila Jayapal tweeted, “Student debt cancellation is racial justice. Student debt cancellation is gender justice. Student debt cancellation is economic justice.

Yeah, no. Student debt cancellation is no kind of justice, because it forces people who did not sign up for or benefit from what that debt bought to pay it off.

GRAMMY NOTES: One of the things I learned in kindergarten was how to wait patiently while cold milk and snacks were passed out to each child before tackling that glued-for-eternity wax spout. Kids today, with their easy-peasy, straw-pokey, juice boxes just can’t appreciate the struggle!

ADULT vs. CHILD: CLICK https://www.facebook.com/watch?v=318979760322636 [3:07] to hear Ted Cruz respond to a leftist at Yale who accused him of being a racist for questioning Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s judicial record.

CLIMATE: CLICK https://rumble.com/v10vx1t-listen-closely-to-what-janet-yellen-says-and-youll-realize-whats-coming.html [:32] to hear Treasury Sec’y Janet Yellen double down on destroying our economy in the name of “saving the planet.

EGARD: The push for transgender rights is no longer about equality, it’s now a cleverly crafted lie that comes at the expense of women,” says Ilan Srulovicz, the owner of Égard Watches. The Florida-based boutique timepiece and jewelry company launched a campaign called “What is a woman?” that celebrates womanhood as a birth right and takes issue with transgender athletes in sports.

END TIMES: Churchill Park United Church of Winnipeg recently held a “Crossing Over Ceremony” for a member suffering from ALS. Friends and family visited the woman in the sanctuary to say their good-byes while a lethal chemical injection took effect. The minister who presided said, “It was like a wake.” Yeah, cuz it’s not at all creepy for the dead person to actually attend her own wake, much less to be ALIVE at the beginning of it!

I looked at the church’s website. It apparently started out as an amalgamation of a Presbyterian and a Methodist church that I’m guessing were both starving for members … maybe because they don’t preach the Gospel? Just sayin’. The site features a cross-inside-a-swirly-rainbow logo and lots left-wing buzz words like “affirming” and “relevant”, but no mention of Jesus, God, or the Bible. But hey, they offer “barrier free” facilities … to the “double-vaccinated.”

FAUXTUS: Outnumbered talks about Biden and how awful his administration is. [8:52] – CLICK https://rumble.com/v10zxt4-biden-finishes-speech-turns-around-to-shake-hands-with-nobody-in-sad-moment.html [:29] to see just the clip of Biden finish his speech, then turn around to shake hands with nobody and finally wander off the stage where apparently nobody is prepared to meet with or guide him.

FLORIDA: Gov. DeSantis has signed into law a bill prohibiting abortions in the Sunshine State after 15 weeks gestation. Fifteen weeks gestation is equivalent to thirteen weeks pregnant. It marks the end of the first trimester.

At this point, the fetus has all of his/her physical features, organs and body parts. The liver is making red blood cells, which the heart is circulating throughout the fetus’ body. The bones are formed and the pituitary gland is secreting hormones. The little one has hair, fingernails and fingerprints. He/she can move around within the uterus and is swallowing and urinating amniotic fluid.

I NEED HELP: CLICK https://www.facebook.com/719570934/videos/461107995681814/ [1:58] to learn what this symbol means and why we should all know it and teach it to our kids and grandkids. Stranger danger and stop-drop-and-roll are important, but we also need to teach our kids as young as possible to be able to recite their full names, addresses, and phone numbers, how and when to dial 911 and how and when to use this hand signal.

On April 10, the hand signal was instrumental in freeing a young woman from her violent boyfriend who had smacked her around and threatened her with a screwdriver if she tried to leave him. Thank God both she and the guy she signaled to both knew what the hand sign meant. Her captor was apprehended and has been charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated domestic assault.

ILLINOIS: Apologies for the graphic, but I didn’t – and doubted you would – realize how awful this man was without seeing an actual sample. And I’m pretty sure this was posted at the link below because it was the least offensive thing he’s put out there!

Preschool teacher Tell Williams IV was uninvited to speak at a state Pre-K and Kindergarten conference this week after it came out that Williams has posted nearly 200 pornographic videos and photos of himself on the internet.

KENTUCKY: The Kentucky legislature has overturned Gov. Beshear’s veto to banning biological men from playing girl’s sports. Kentucky has become the 15th state to protect the integrity of athletic competition for our daughters.

LENTEN MEDITATION: From Catholic Answers – Jesus’ descent into hell means that Jesus “sojourned in the realm of the dead prior to his resurrection” (the Catechism 632). Like all men, Jesus experienced death, and thus his soul joined others in this realm. But as the Catechism points out, “he descended there as Savior” (CCC 632) and preached the good news to the spirits imprisoned there (1 Pet. 3:19).

Does this mean Jesus descended into hell to deliver the damned? Does this mean Jesus destroyed the hell of damnation? No. Scripture often uses the term hell – Sheol in Hebrew and Hades in Greek – to refer to the abode of the dead, which consisted of both the righteous and the unrighteous who were deprived of the vision of God.

But this doesn’t mean their experience of that realm was identical. Jesus made this clear in his parable of the poor man and Lazarus (Luke 16:22-26). The Jews affectionately referred to the righteous abode as “Abraham’s bosom.”

It is these spirits to whom Jesus preached the good news. “It is precisely these holy souls, who awaited their Savior in Abraham’s bosom, whom Christ the Lord delivered when he descended into hell” (CCC 633).

MICHAEL SUSSMANN: A judge has ruled that the criminal prosecution of a Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer charged with lying to the FBI during the Trump-Russia investigation can move forward. The trial is scheduled to begin on May 16 in Washington’s federal court.

Sussmann is one of three people charged so far by special counsel John Durham. Kevin Clinesmith, a former FBI lawyer, pleaded guilty to altering an email and received probation. Igor Danchenko, a Russian analyst and source of information for Christopher Steele, was charged in November with lying to the FBI.

NO TOUCHING: [4:49] – This is interesting and funny, but I am left wondering about ‘rona policies in those places where Canadians and Americans are basically isolated from their own nations. My Canadian cousin refuses the vaxxx and is consequently not allowed to cross the border. And we can’t go visit her for the same reason.

Good Friday

2022: The latest Quinnipiac poll shows approval numbers for Biden’s job performance have dropped again.

  • Hispanics: 26% approve (12% strongly) vs. 54% disapprove (41% strongly).
  • Whites: 31% approve vs. 59% disapprove.
  • Blacks: 63% approve vs. 25 % disapprove.

The poll surveyed 1,412 adults between April 7-11 with a 2.6 margin of error.

ARIZONA: Gov. Ducey has signed a bill into law requiring all public and charter schools to give students one to two minutes of silence at the beginning of the day. Private schools, parochial schools and homeschools are exempt from the requirement.

BIDENFLATION: As of April 28, sellers who use Amazon’s fulfillment services will be paying 5% more than they do now. Amazon is calling it a “fuel and inflation surcharge.”

CATHOLIC: Ralph Martin talks about Church leaders who are condoning LGBTQ lifestyles. [3:51] – Click the link if you want to see a summary of the traditional and official RCC teaching on homosexuality.

DO THE MATH: Not the Bee notes, “A bunch of wokies broke our their finest ‘AKSHUALLYS’ to prove that most Chinese third graders aren’t actually learning multi-variable calculus, probably because they’ve lived so long as basement NPCs that they’ve forgotten the poetic elements of rhetoric, hyperbole, and humor.”

In other news, a study published in 2006 noted that, for the past 20 years, Asian children have consistently outperformed their American counterparts in math. Explanations have focused on differences ranging from number-word systems and parental expectations to student motivation and curriculum content. But this study compared American and Chinese math teachers. While the former were more knowledgeable about general educational theories and classroom skills, the latter knew more about math.

The study confirmed findings of a previous study that found that U.S. teachers do not have “a profound understanding of fundamental mathematics. This, despite the fact that all the American teachers in the study held a bachelor’s degree and more than half had obtained a master’s degree, while most of the Chinese teachers were trained, after junior high school, at a three-year teacher-training school where they studied subjects equivalent to those offered in high school.”

INVASIVE SPECIES: The graphic has nothing to do with this post, which is about a very creepy looking, squirmy thing whose images triggered my snake phobia. So no pic, just info.

As we go into planting season please be aware that the USA has an invading species of worm called the Hammerhead Worm. They are indigenous to Southeast Asia and are currently in Alabama , Georgia and parts of Florida and South Carolina. Some say they have already made it to New England.

They have no known predators, so are spreading and, currently, there are no known chemical controls that target them. They are voraciously carnivorous and pose a significant threat to our friendly earthworms. They also secrete poisonous toxins and transmit harmful nematode parasites. Yuck.

Gardeners need to catch and kill any they see. But do not touch them! Use gloves when handling; they are believed to carry a potent tetrodotoxin. If you come into contact with one, wash the area with hot soapy water, rinse in alcohol and/or use hand disinfectant.

Also, do NOT cut any of them into pieces; each piece has the ability to grow into an entire new worm! They also seem to survive freezing temperatures, so chucking them in the freezer is out.

Agrigro said, “gardeners can rid the soil of them by heating it to 93ºF for five minutes.” Not sure how you do that, but if you know, go for it.

Another source said to soak them in a jar filled with salt and vinegar for a few days, which sounds really gross.

The wfla site suggested a thorough enough squishing may do the job, another really gross solution. They recommend putting salt on them and leaving them in bright sun so they dry out. Again, not sure how you do this AND keep them from crawling away … maybe in a jar? Argh, this is all really pushing my buttons. I sincerely hope there aren’t any in my garden!

LENTEN MEDITATION: [3:59] – “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.” “Jesus, I trust in You.” “Abba, Father. Thy Will Be Done!

LIFE: CLICK https://www.facebook.com/studentsforlife/videos/304746298440205 [3:22] to hear Kristan Hawkins on a campus tour. Kristan, the President of Students for Life of America and Students for Life Action, has been a major anti-abortion activist on college campuses for years. This interchange is a less skeezy version of the “Adult vs. Child” one I posted yesterday between Ben Shapiro and a full-of-himself undergrad. Behind the lectern, you have an experienced speaker with vast experience in arguing the conservative point of view. In the audience, you have a pompous, lib-indoctrinated undergrad who can’t support their own point of view, probably because nobody has ever seriously challenged it before.

TEXAS TORNADO: This photo is from a ranch owned by family friends. You can see the damage the twister did to the tree in front. Across the water, the brown swath is all downed trees, plus a lot of fencing that was also demolished. Thank God this thing didn’t hit a subdivision! UPDATE: Members of the Rios family are still in ICU, but are now expected to live. Please continue praying for them and all those whose homes were destroyed. Thank you.

TOLERANCE: I subscribe to a FB group called “Human Acts of Kindness.” Somebody posted this graphic and I am just so sad about how many nasty comments it engendered … from people who subscribe to a group dedicated to kindness. Apparently, kindness, like tolerance, is something leftists reserve only for those who think and act and vote the same way they do.

TWITTER: Elon has offered to buy Twitter for $43 billion in cash. He wants to take it private and “transform” it into “the platform for free speech around the globe” (his words).

CLICK https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=317390717131116 [12:53] to hear Newsmax report. If you don’t watch the whole thing, please just skip to 9:30 and listen to Dave Rubin tell an extraordinary true story. Tissue alert!

VAXXX: Carol Beauchine died Aug. 2, 2021, from Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD), a fatal degenerative brain disorder she developed almost immediately after her second dose of Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine. She was healthy until she got the shots. Her son says, “We all knew from the very beginning it was related to the shot.

GRAMMY NOTES: So, I did this [squeee!!!] and we are both so happy with it that we’ve already got a spot picked out in the living room.

Holy Thursday

My dd took this photo when she went to help with clean up. If you zoom in, you can see what the plate and pamphlet say. Look how the blown-in, brown-green debris piled around the plate, under the table, and on the collapsed insulation is even down inside the plastic pamphlet holder!

PRAYERS PLEASE: For the newly homeless citizens of Salado, some of whom are intimately connected to the Lone Star branch of the Hyphen Clan. The news says the tornado uprooted large trees and reduced a mile long swath of Salado to rubble. Incredibly and thankfully, no one was killed. Twenty-three were injured, but only one critically. Special prayers for the Rios family who were all injured badly enough to require hospitalization. The 6-year-old daughter was blown into a tree and found after the storm, hanging there.

ADULT vs. CHILD: If you haven’t already seen the viral exchange between “I’m a mathematician and a physicist, so like way smarter than you, bro” and Ben Shapiro, CLICK https://twitter.com/jordanbpeterson/status/1513893439359922176 [1:51]. Better yet, click the link below and read the transcript, which thankfully omits the self-important little turd’s vulgar remarks about Ben’s wife.

BORDER: Gov. Abbott followed through on his plan to bus illegals to D.C. and drop them there. CLICK https://rumble.com/v10u402-gov.-abbott-follows-through-drops-off-bus-of-illegals-for-biden-in-dc.html [1:18] to see Fox report.

BROOKLYN SUBWAY: CLICK https://www.facebook.com/watch?v=513537753564426 [5:01] to hear a recap and update on the incident. It’s infuriating that this man’s big issue is racial, but because he’s Black, that’s okay with the Left. We need to just understand how oppressed he’s been. Or something. But you know that if he had been white and said and done the exact same things, the Left would be shrieking about the deadly threat the supposedly hate-filled, intolerant, racist Right poses to our domestic security.

CATHOLIC: [6:31] – More than 70 church leaders from around the world have signed an open letter opposing the German Synodal Path’s proposal that the RCC embrace homosexuality and allow priests to marry.

CNN+: Last December, fake conservative Chris Wallace (74) left Fox News to begin hosting a weekday show on CNN’s proposed streaming service, CNN+. According to Matt Vespa, he was to be the centerpiece of CNN’s new venture, which they projected would launch with something like 2 million subscribers and grow to 15-18 million after four years. Two weeks in, the liberal channel has fewer than 10,000 subscribers. Wallace is reportedly threatening to walk if CNN doesn’t give him his own show on its main channel.

CORN POOP: CLICK https://twitter.com/RNCResearch/status/1513979276240072716 [:12] to see what appears to be bird poo land on FAUXTUS’ lapel. The WH scrambled to inform us that “it was bits of corn flying around from the corn silo; the event was indoors.” Ohhhhh … it was indoors, where corn could fly around … but birds couldn’t? Yeah, no. The event was held in a yuge, barn-like warehouse, where (Snopes even admitted) birds frequently nest. Also, I’m pretty sure corn doesn’t go splat like that.

DISNEY: Go woke! Go broke! CLICK https://www.facebook.com/watch?v=1400100873840986 [3:54] to hear Dan Bongino talk about the punishment parents are inflicting on the once family-friendly mega-corporation.

LOUISIANA: The New Orleans Marshals Service’s Missing Child Unit (MCU) recently rounded up five adults involved in sex trafficking and rescued 16 missing and endangered minors. They are actively pursuing four others for whom they have felony warrants.

MARYLAND: The state legislature overrode the governor’s veto, enacting a bill that allows non-physicians to perform abortions and requires most private health insurance companies to cover 100% of the cost of abortion. The state will also spend millions of taxpayer dollars on training nurses, midwives, and physician assistants in abortion procedures.

It struck me that this started in 2016, that the Moms on a Mission (below) found that academic proficiency in their district began falling in 2016, and that yesterday, I reported on how Oregon and Washington state school standards began mandating, in 2016, that kids as young as kindergarten be taught that sex and gender are different.

WISCONSIN: Three “Moms on a Mission” swept the three empty seats on their school board. CLICK https://www.facebook.com/watch?v=739340223740105 [4:54] to see Fox & Friends report.

GRAMMY NOTES: A fellow on my art board posted a watercolor he did of Ralph Vaughn Williams’ home in Surrey. It brought back memories of one of the highlights of my entire life. In 1971, my high school choir performed Vaughn Williams’ Mass in G Minor at the East Coast Music Educators Conference. It’s a very difficult, two choir (i.e., 16 parts!) + 4 solo, a capella piece that hits such high and low notes for every voice that, if the choir drifts off tone by even a little bit, somebody won’t be able to hit their notes. We worked so hard on it. And the auditorium filled with music educators gave us a standing ovation. I’m listening to this little bit (the whole thing is about 28 minutes) and it’s making me tear up.

ALABAMA: Gov. Ivey has signed legislation into law requiring public K-12 school restrooms and changing areas to be restricted for student use by individuals based on their biological sex, banning sexual/gender indoctrination in K-5, and prohibiting hormone blockers, genital mutilation, and gender reassignment surgeries in minors.

BIDENFLATION: CLICK https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=342628434512488 [4:25] to hear Jen Psaki demonstrate Matt Walsh’s point, followed by a NewsMax report on just how badly this administration has performed on the economy, which is THE #1 concern for Americans.

CATHOLIC: “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.” – Matthew 7:21

Saint Paul preached ‘Christ crucified — a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles’ when he brought the gospel to Malta. The Apostle boasted in the scandal of the Cross. Why is the pope ashamed of the Cross before Muslims, especially during Lent?” – Dr. Philip Beattie, president of Pro Malta Christiana and an economist at the University of Malta

FAUXTUS: He and VFAUXTUS have the whole world laughing at us. CLICK https://rumble.com/v10p2v1-biden-and-harris-have-the-rest-of-the-world-laughing-at-us.html [1:08] to see a skit out of Saudi Arabia that would be way funnier if it wasn’t so accurate.

IMMUNE TO PROSTITUTION: CLICK https://rumble.com/v10mcy1-biden-imagine-if-the-tobacco-industry-had-been-immune-to-proustite.html [:15] to hear Biden make a fool of himself (again) as he lies twice.

We are all well aware that the manufacturers of the COVID-19 vaxxxines are immune from prosecution. Also, from Fox: “The 2005 Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA), otherwise known as the Child Safety Lock Act, protects gun manufacturers from being held liable in cases when people commit crimes using their products, but firearms makers can still be sued for a number of other reasons such as product defects.”

LENTEN MEDITATION: “We don’t pray to Mary as if she were a demigod. That is idolatry. She isn’t going to tell us yes when God says no. We don’t worship Mary. That too is idolatry. We honor her. We look to her as the most powerful intercessor born outside of her Son, the Word made Flesh.“ – Fr. Bill Peckman

MASKS: British researchers have found microplastic fibers deep in the lower lungs in 11 of the 13 people sampled. The source may very well be all those mandated disposable masks we’ve been forced to wear “for public safety.” One of the key ingredients is polypropylene, which degrades into tiny, microscopic fibers of plastic. A growing body of research shows these microplastic fibers have the potential to cause disease, including cancer, in humans.

NEW YUCK: Brian Benjamin was a state senator until Sept. 9, 2021, when he was appointed by New York Gov. Kathy Hochul to replace her as Lieutenant Governor. She, of course, got bumped up when her skeezy predecessor had to resign. Now, just 9 months later, Benjamin has been arrested and charged with using his authority in a quid pro quo scheme in which he swapped government grants for campaign contributions.

OKLAHOMA: Gov. Stitt has signed legislation into law that bans nearly all abortions after conception, and there are no exceptions for rape or incest. The only exception is to save the life of the woman in case of an emergency. The bill specifically targets health care workers who perform the procedure. They can be punished by up to 10 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.

S&G: State public school health education standards in both Oregon and Washington require children in kindergarten and first grade to learn that “there are many ways to express gender.

In second grade, they are taught to “recognize differences and similarities of how individuals identify regarding gender” and how to “communicate respectfully with and about people of all gender identities, gender expressions and sexual orientations.”

In third grade, they are expected to be able to “define sexual orientation,” as well as “recognize differences and similarities of how individuals identify regarding gender or sexual orientation.”

This has been going on since 2016!

WISCONSIN: CLICK https://twitter.com/libsoftiktok/status/1513932643494084609 [:49] to see a high school French teacher parade his sexual fantasies during school hours as part of “Fine Arts Week.” Even if I didn’t find drag queens distasteful, I wouldn’t call what they do “fine art”! Maybe some of them have actual talent, but the ones I have seen have just been males in over-the-top glittery outfits, big wigs, and a ton of makeup prancing around to canned music. The choreography reminds me of what my daughters did in the living room when they were very young. You know, prance prance prance, shake your booty, wave your arms, repeat.

Previous controversies in this appalling school district include racially segregating children twice (once for standardized tests, once for music class), training teachers that two-year-olds are racist, and pushing racial identity journals in elementary grades. For $15,000 per student, the district ensures that kids are 100% proficient in LGBTQ and CRT. Too bad they are only 47% proficient in math and 49% in language arts.

ART: [19:42] – There’s nothing much worth talking about in the news, so I’m taking a day off to just enjoy all the amazing artists who share their processes on YouTube. This is just one I watched from the world of wood-and-resin art.

FAUXTUS: “None of this is actually funny” [3:36].

LENTEN MEDITATION: “The prayer most pleasing to God is that made for others.” – Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich

PROSTHESIS: I remember seeing a documentary many years ago about an artist who started using his skills to make realistic prostheses for people who were missing parts of their face. I cried when one man said about his new nose, “Now I can wear glasses and read again!” Today’s post is about a new advancement in the field, which is to use digital scans, computer aided design and 3D printing to make the process faster and, no doubt, cheaper.

YOUNG AMERICANS FOR FREEDOM: [4:10] – This must have been truly terrifying.

BIDEN REMORSE: CLICK https://twitter.com/RSLC/status/1512041253659189253 [:30] to hear a new Republican ad. Also, ponder what the deal is with college educated women going even more dumbocrat, while college educated men have made a huge shift to the right. I know there’s a big difference in the kinds of careers the two genders choose, with women more likely to go into nurturing professions like teaching and nursing. This would mean they tend to work for, rather than employ others, so maybe that’s where it’s coming from.

BLM: CLICK https://www.facebook.com/watch?v=1061065211515402 [2:50] to hear some good sense, except for the part about George Floyd. The only thing messed up about that was the hyper politicization and media coverage of a man who died from his own bad lifestyle.

CHICOMS: CLICK https://twitter.com/patrickmadrid/status/1512600420610363394 [1:29] to see citizens of Shanghai protest the latest lockdown.

CLIMATE ACTIVISM: Follow up tweet – “So here’s what we do: Wedge gravel in the tire valves, leaflet the SUV to let them know the tires are flat and why it was done, and walk away. It’s that simple.

Best tweet response: “Most people don’t carry a tire pump. They’re going to call a tow truck to either tow them because they don’t know the tire is still good or to reinflate the tire. The tow truck is way less efficient, burning fuel and unnecessary. They’re now pissed off and way less sympathetic.

There were also some more pointed responses, involving heavy tire irons, lead projectiles, and meeting one’s medical deductible.

DOMESTIC TERRORISM: Also, that the supposed threat posed by right wingers is a MYTH.

FAUXTUS: CLICK https://rumble.com/v10b1jk-biden-america-can-be-defined-in-one-word-iwasanafoothimafootift.html [:07] to hear Slow Joe tell us what America really is.

FEAR: The Left deals in fear. Fear of (fake) climate change killing us all! Fear of (very nice) Republicans killing us all! Fear of (fake) deadly disease killing us all! CLICK https://twitter.com/libsoftiktok/status/1512532296481398784 [:31] to see one of their cult victims. This is so sad.

INBREEDING: [9:07] – You know that joke about how you might be a redneck if your family tree doesn’t fork? Yeah, you also might be royalty. This video shows the genealogy of Charles II of Spain. This channel also has Cleopatra’s and King Tut’s in-bred genealogies in other videos.

KBJ: Don Surber writes, “Ketanji Jackson became a justice on Friday. She said, ‘In my family, it took just one generation to go from segregation to the Supreme Court of the United States.’

Baloney.

She was born in 1970, 6 years after segregation was outlawed. Thurgood Marshall was already on the Supreme Court when she was born. Affirmative action cleared the way for her to attend Harvard and Harvard Law. The color line was broken before she was born and the sex barrier when she was 10.

Jackson is an elitist trying to steal the valor of those who struggled for freedom.”

LENTEN MEDITATION: “We must pray without tiring, for the salvation of mankind does not depend upon material success, but on Jesus alone.” – St. Frances Xavier Cabrini

VOTER ID: Voting in the French presidential election was yesterday. There were NO mail-in ballots. There were no dirty voting machines. Only paper ballots were used. And EVERYONE had to show a voter ID.

Progressive Theology on Display

Anna Sheetz, the Director of Christian Education at First Presbyterian Church of Iowa City, had this to say during last Sunday’s service.

This past Thursday, March 31st, was the International Transgender Day of Visibility. In the PCUSA, we welcome all of our transgender and queer siblings into this family and relationship with the Creator God. So today, I wish to pray a prayer that was written for this incredible day. Will you pray with me?

Oh God of Pronouns, we give praise to the Great One, the One who was identifiable as God.

I am what I am,’ You say. The Great ‘They,’ the Incarnate ‘He’ and ‘She,’ the God of Trans-Being.

[Who exactly was the Incarnate She?]

Impregnating Mary, fathering God. Breastfeeding God of Many Breasts, You shatter all stereotypes, making every single person…male and female, intersex, nonbinary in Your image. Exactly in your image.

[Mary has many breasts? Or some other “incarnation” of God? I’m confused.]

God is flexible and affirmative:

[Really? I remember Jesus being pretty heavy handed in his criticism of unrepentant sinners, especially among those who presumed to be religious leaders!]

Spectrum Rainbow God, who put Your promise for non-violence in the symbol for queer love before humanity knew.

[Uhhh, no. The LGBTQers appropriated the rainbow that was God’s promise to never destroy the earth again with a flood. It had nothing to do with “non-violence” and especially not with “queer love.”]

Because You knew. Who had Joseph, who could not sleep with a woman in a beautiful lady’s cloak, perhaps of rainbow colors. Before we knew, You knew.”

[Wait, wut? He didn’t sleep with Potiphar’s wife, because she was Potiphar’s WIFE. Not because his father had given him that cloak of many colors umpteen years before that he no longer had anyway.]

God of Pronouns, who said, ‘You can call me ‘He’ or ‘She’ or ‘They,’ whatever makes you feel closest to Me.’”

[No. He never said that. Like, ever.]

Invisible and Visible God, on this day where visibility, celebration, belatedness, affirmation, and acceptance is [sic] the bare minimum, remind us that You are the God of Pronouns, so You affirm and You celebrate them.”

[Acceptance? Nope. Repentance and conversion, yes. “Go and sin no more.” – John 5:14, John 8:11]

The minister beholds the ‘Great They/Them’: God of Saul, Paul, Simon, Jacob, Isaac, Simon Peter, Abram and Sarai and Abraham and Sarah, God of Joseph, of the coat of many colors, of the Ethiopian eunuch, of the virgin Mary, God of all Found Families in the Bible.

Remind us that You affirm us in our full identity — name, pronoun, found family, all of it. For this, we give You thanks and praise to the Great I Am. The Great They/Them. Thank you, God.”

To put this into context and if you have the time, I recommend this video. While I’m not a fan of Mike Winger’s anti-Catholic crap (why can’t these people find out what the RCC actually teaches?), on this issue, I think he nails it. The main take away I got is that progressive theology is Christian churches that go left end up with empty pews. And, golly gee whiz, notice how few people were at that service.
