J6: Last week, the Supremes voted 6/3 in favor of Joseph Fischer, a former police officer, who was charged under an accounting law that holds a 20 year potential jail sentence. Fischer briefly entered the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. The majority agreed that Mr. Fischer shouldn’t have been charged with breaking a law meant to curbing wrongdoing on Wall Street.
JUDICIAL ACTIVISM: Montana passed a law defining what “male”and “female”mean. Judge Vannatta, a Democrat-appointed federal judge in Montana, ruled it to be “unconstitutional.“

TENNESSEE: Governor Bill Lee has signed a bill calling for 30 days of prayer and fasting beginning July 1. Tennessee House Joint Resolution 0803 asks the people of the state “to seek God’s hand of mercy healing on Tennessee.”
TENT CITIES: Last week, the Supremes voted 6-3 in favor of a local ordinance banning public camping. Leftists claim the ban constitutes “cruel and unusual punishment.” The majority disagreed, warning against expanding the definition of that phrase beyond the original intention and also noting that citizens must be allowed to experiment with solutions to homelessness, not have one solution (e.g., tent cities) imposed by the federal government.
TRUMP: We got another win this morning when the Supremes ruled 6–3 that presidents enjoy immunity from criminal prosecution for official, but not for unofficial, acts. This decision is expected to delay former President Donald Trump’s trial in the federal election case in Washington.
The Supreme Court held that: “Under our constitutional structure of separated powers, the nature of Presidential power entitles a former President to absolute immunity from criminal prosecution for actions within his conclusive and preclusive constitutional authority. And he is entitled to at least presumptive immunity from prosecution for all his official acts. There is no immunity for unofficial acts.”
UVALDE, TEXAS: On May 24, 2022, an 18-year-old Uvalde resident shot and severely wounded his grandmother, then moved to Robb Elementary School where he killed 19 students and two teachers, while injuring 17 others.
Due to the total inaction by local police, the shooter had more than more than 1 hour and 14 minutes onsite before a United States Border Patrol Tactical Unit bypassed the incident commander, on Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District Police Department (UCISD PD) Chief Pedro Arredondo, and breached the scene, ending the shooter’s life.
Arredondo has been charged with 10 counts of abandoning and endangering a child. Another officer, Adrian Gonzales, has been charged with 29 counts. Both of officers face up to two years in prison and a $10,000 fine if they are convicted.
Separate investigations are being conducted by the Texas Ranger Division and the United States Department of Justice. One hopes more indictments will come as there were numerous instances of local and state police getting into violent conflicts with parents to prevent them from entering to rescue their children. Three people were injured during these conflicts.
