Yesterday may well have been the best breakfast mankind has ever borne witness to.Uncle Roger’s lifelong soulmate,my beloved Aunt Evelyn fixed a feast for the family.Two of their children were there,I met one of my 2nd cousins,along with uncle Bob,Aunt Jan and his two children,cousin Trish and Pam and her daughter,Carrie,who is fascinated by the stories we tell of the time we were kids together.We had eggs,bacon,sausage,fried taters,pancakes,fruit,coffee and juice.We spent hours afterward enjoying homemade cinnamon rolls and gabbing,just like long ago Sunday dinners at Granny’s.
It was a reminder that this journey through life is very short and tomorrow is never promised.There is so much joy to be had if you just open your eyes and see it.There is nothing so precious as that which you carry in your heart for a lifetime.I am also grateful that there is a place like this where I can share with those I will never meet,yet are still a big part of my happiness.It is a privilege to bring a part of me here to leave with you.For that,I thank Him who made us all.

This is a little side trip into some examples of people who take literal way too seriously. Title was completely plagiarized, stolen and ripped off from my FB friend, Clarice Feldman, one of my favorite writers from American Thinker (Clarice’s Pieces). Every so often I have an original thought. This is not one of those times.
It is hard to imagine feeling better than I do right now. We had a beautiful dinner with the family Sunday. I gave RJ one of my fishing rods and taught him how to tie the Fisherman’s Knot properly. It was in the 60’s and sunny so we went into the back yard and made the kind of memories that can’t be bought. We spent some quality time practicing our casting skills. He only got the plug stuck in the branches of a tree once. My beloved Chicago Cubs won their first game of the season last night and Chrissy is back to her old self. Now everybody can remember how bad my posts really suck.
Today is primary day in Wisconsin. There is still talk about a contested convention, which would, in essence, sound the death knell of what was once a major political party. People are dying like flies here in Chicago and the teacher’s union went on a one-day strike. The Barry and Kerry Show (just made that up. see? I DO have an original thought once in awhile) is still beclowning itself on the world stage. Trouble is they have their heads shoved so far up their anal orifices that don’t realize it. There’s no chance things will ever change much..

Chrissy’s back. My kids and grandkids are coming for dinner tomorrow after church. Didn’t even check the latest political nonsense. Just want to give thanks for all God has given me.
The last time she posted was Jan. 31; since then she’s faced trials most of us will never know. She has been lifted up in our thoughts and prayers and, sure enough, God gave her the strength to come back here to us. It’s a chore trying to do these posts every day. Some days there isn’t much interesting or it just doesn’t seem work right. Comparing CtH’s post to mine are like comparing a Rembrandt to an Elvis painting on black velvet. She’s still weak, but at least she’s getting well and, hopefully, she’ll be back doing her thing very soon.

Trump did an interview with Chris Matthews today where the topic of banning abortion came up. Trump was pressed on whether a woman who has an illegal abortion should be punished:
At a taping of an MSNBC town hall to be aired later, host Chris Matthews pressed Trump on his anti-abortion position, repeatedly asking him, “Should abortion be punished? This is not something you can dodge.”
“Look, people in certain parts of the Republican Party, conservative Republicans, would say, ‘Yes, it should,’” Trump answered.
“How about you?” Matthews asked.
“I would say it’s a very serious problem and it’s a problem we have to decide on. Are you going to send them to jail?” Trump said.
“I’m asking you,” Matthews said.
“I am pro-life,” Trump said. Asked how a ban would actually work, Trump said, “Well, you go back to a position like they had where they would perhaps go to illegal places but we have to ban it,” Trump said.
Matthews then pressed Trump on whether he believes there should be punishment for abortion if it were illegal.
“There has to be some form of punishment,” Trump said. “For the woman?” Matthews asked. “Yeah,” Trump said, nodding.
Trump said the punishment would “have to be determined.”
Within hours he was forced to walk back his comments and change his stance to doctors who provide abortions should be punished.

The gunman was described Friday as a “hate-filled” individual with anti-religion and white supremacist leanings who had long struggled with mental health issues, law enforcement sources said.
The family of Chris Harper-Mercer, who is suspected of killing at least nine people Thursday in Oregon, says they are in shock.
Officials said Friday that they recovered 13 weapons linked to the shooter, identified as Christopher Sean Harper-Mercer, 26. Six weapons were found at the college, seven were found during a search of his apatrtment—and all were legally purchased, officials said.

This, I believe, is why the godless left hates godly people and despises the military. I read a survey where people in an interview had to check off a box stating their religion. Many democrats marked the box: none. They do not know the peace we feel when we first accept the True Savior and know that our bodies will die, but paradise everlasting awaits, as He promised when He paid the ultimate price.
The persecution and sacrifice of the faithful will continue as long as there are people who fear such power and seek to destroy it.
