Character matters

Obama’s response to a perceived heckler [1:56]

The reporter said later that he was NOT heckling. When he spoke out, he actually thought Obama’s speech was finished. I agree with him that the cadence of Obama’s speech is confusing. The way he stops and starts makes it hard to know when he really is done. And reporters have to jump in if they have a hope of getting their question heard.

The Laughing Stock Media ignored the content of Obama’s Rose Garden announcement (which was that he is instructing INS to NOT enforce the law) and focused on tut-tutting over what they characterized as “heckling” (not as a reporter asking a question out of turn). Some of them did some chin-pulling about whether a White President would be treated with so much disrespect.  Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh … you mean, like this?

Bush Heckled “war criminal” [:46]

But none of that is my point here. My point is the prickly way Obama responded to a reporter speaking out of turn. Video clip below shows how Romney responded to a planned group interruption of a campaign event.

Here is how Obama handled a planned group interruption by his own supporters. Check out the face. Sheesh.

So … who do YOU want in the Oval Office? A bossy jerk with a chip on his shoulder or a smooth gentleman with a sense of humor? Speaking of humor … this last video clip is a well-done anti-Obama ad.

Most Arrogant Man in the World [1:05]

Remember in 2008, how the Left drooled over Mr. Barack O’Cool? What a joke! He’s only calm and congenial when he’s being stroked and pampered. At the first sign he isn’t getting his way, he acts like a 2-year-old who missed his nap.

The Hidden Coup

By Mark Crutcher of Life Dynamics. Reprinted with permission.

Our parents warned us to always be careful what we ask for because we just might get it. It is sound advice that tends to get ignored, thus leaving us exposed to the unforeseen and unwelcome consequences that follow.

For generations, cynical voters have been asking for politicians who keep their campaign promises. In 2008, their wish was granted. Barack Obama was handed the keys to the Oval Office after faithfully promising the American people that he would fundamentally change their nation.

It is a promise he is keeping with a vengeance. Many of the principles upon which America was built have already been eliminated and those that remain are in his cross-hairs. Obama is now the center of a personality cult that is, with breathtaking speed, transforming us into the Marxist utopia he was so seduced by during his time at Harvard.

It is correctly said that elections have consequences and I can find no better proof of that than the one that gave us Barack Obama. Because of it, we now find ourselves in a precarious situation that threatens the very survival of the country. Even if Obama loses in November, it will take decades of Herculean effort to undo the damage he’s done. On the other hand, if he wins, there will shortly come a time when we will be living in a country that we cannot imagine today and will not recognize then.

The political and cultural ramifications of this are being cussed and discussed by people far brighter than I will ever be. But in the midst of all this, important questions are being overlooked about the long-term effects of Obamaism on the Black population.

First, by now, it must be clear to even the most oblivious of our fellow citizens that this guy is in way over his head. Any way you look at it, we are now in the final stages of a four-year amateur night at the White House. What we don’t know is whether voters will see this as an indictment of Obama, Democrats and liberals, or as a referendum on African-American politicians in general. If that turns out to be the case, we might look back one day and conclude that the first Black president saw to it that there would not be a second one for another 150 years.

Second, polls consistently show that Blacks are far more pro-life and far more opposed to the homosexual agenda than the population as a whole. Yet they broadly support a man who has been the most radically pro-abortion and pro-homosexual president in American history. In the field of psychiatry, this phenomenon is called “cognitive dissonance” and it occurs when people behave in a manner that conflicts with their belief system. Interestingly, this trait is commonly found among members of cults.

Whether Obamaism meets the definition of a cult or not is, obviously, open to interpretation. However, it is hard to imagine that there will not be negative repercussions within the Black community for having blindly followed a man who is so out of step with them on these two core-value moral issues.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, consider the following: since the 1960s, Martin Luther King has been the greatest presence in the African-American community and cast the biggest shadow in the struggle for civil-rights. For more than fifty years, he has been a man among boys and Black families have been able to hold him up to their children as the symbol of what African-Americans can do and can become.

The danger we now face is that Dr. King may soon be replaced by Barack Obama as America’s preeminent Black role model. Should that happen, and it certainly seems plausible that it will, the results will be disastrous for the country in general and the Black community in particular.

Of course, some will not see this as an “either/or” situation and suggest that both can serve in this capacity. Those people are wrong. In reality, this is a textbook “either/or” situation. It is completely illogical to contend that Dr. King’s devotion to the advancement of fundamental American values is compatible with Obama’s advocacy of godless statism and Black Liberation Theology. As a practical matter, the only way for one philosophy to prevail is for the other one to be destroyed.

So whether the country realizes it or not, we stand at a crossroads. To put it simply: Martin Luther King was a unifier; Barack Obama is a divider. And if our fate is for the latter to replace the former as the symbol of Black America, we’re all in deep trouble.

THE SATURDAY GRUDGE

Posted by Pistol Pete

Just a short post today, since nobody’s around on the weekend anyway.

Just a few words about Obama’s naked power grab yesterday.I truly believe that almost unlimited power is driving him mad.He has a big, empty hole where his soul should be that all the lies, theft and pain he can inflict won’t fill. When you listen to his speech listing all the conditions for amnesty,no criminal record, must live here five years, blah, blah, blah, remember it all means NOTHING!No one cares if they meet the criteria or not,he desperately needs all the illegal votes he can get.Never mind the increased competition for jobs, the added pressure on social services or the increase in crime. As long as it helps him win, that’s all he cares about.I am thoroughly convinced there is no depth he won’t sink to,no law he won’t break in an effort to hang on to his power. We  must all pray and work to rid ourselves of this virus before the damage he does becomes irreparable.

We need somebody who can stand up to Bush

“It is amazing, isn’t it? Everything that’s happened the last three-and-a-half years, it’s all been Bush’s fault. Don’t we have evidence enough now to know that Obama can’t deal with it? We need to elect somebody who can stand up to Bush!” Rush Limbaugh, June 14, 2012

Unions going thumbs down on Obama

Obama refused to personally rally on behalf of the public sector unions in Wisconsin, literally flying over the state on the critical days before the Governor Walker’s recall election.

To add insult to injury, when asked why he didn’t go to Wisconsin, the President claimed he was too busy, which was a total lie. He was on a record fundraising spree … NINE events in the four days prior to the election … some of them in States right next door to Wisconsin.

He had plenty of time to keep his promise to “put on comfortable shoes” and show some moral support to the unions who worked so hard and spent so much to help him win the presidency in 2008. He just couldn’t be bothered. And now he’s going to pay.

A recent Gallup poll shows that union members understand Obama threw them under the bus.

2008 union members voted: Obama 67% vs. McCain 30%

2012 union members prefer: Obama 57% vs. Romney 35%

And the AFL-CIO has decided to shift funds away from political candidates, including President Obama. A union spokesman said, “We wanted to start investing our funds in our own infrastructure and advocacy.” In 2008, this same union built up a massive political structure in the months leading up the election, including extensive “Get Out The Vote” efforts, as well as financial contributions to help Obama and his fellow Democrats win their super majority.

In other cheerful news, Rasmussen shows a 16% increase (44% in 2008 vs. 60% now) in the number of Likely Voters who believe the next President will likely be a Republican.

And on May 30, 2012, Moveon dot org sent out a rather desperate-sounding begging letter saying,

“If we can’t increase our budget, we might have to dramatically scale back or pull the plug on some of MoveOn’s most important election efforts this year. … Click here to chip in $5 and help MoveOn take on more campaigns this election season. … In 2008, MoveOn was one of the first groups to endorse President Obama, and we then recruited 1 million volunteers who went door to door, made phone calls, and helped provide the surge of grassroots support necessary to elect Obama.”

After what they did to General Petraeus, seeing them begging for fivers is just too too sweet!

Unprecedentedly Out of Touch

Jolt [1:01]

Jun 11, 2012 by mittromney: Last Friday, the unemployment rate rose to 8.2 percent and 300,000 more people joined the long-term unemployed. One week later, President Obama said the private sector is doing fine. Only a president that presides over forty months of unemployment over 8 percent would think that the last jobs report is “doing fine.” These comments show that President Obama is completely out of touch with the middle class.
