Romney says he was never asked about his birth certificate [1:15]

August 24, 2012: Mitt Romney started off a Michigan campaign event with, “I love being home, in this place where Ann and I were raised, where both of us were born. Ann was born in Henry Ford Hospital; I was born in Harper Hospital. No one’s ever asked to see my birth certificate; they know that this is the place that we were born and raised.”

Romney also said that he had visited all 83 counties of Michigan while growing up. It’s nice he got the number of counties in Michigan right … unlike Barack Obama, who once told a 2008 campaign crowd he’d been to all 57 states, or his running mate, Joe Biden, who recently told another campaign crowd that this was the 20th century.

A couple of hours after Romney’s speech, the Obama campaign posted on its facebook page:

Mitt Romney directly enlisted himself in the birther movement this morning: “No one has ever asked to see my birth certificate. They know this is the place I was born.” Get the President’s back. Stand with him in this election against false, divisive charges.

Messages sent from Obama’s personal Twitter account called Romney’s dig a “new low” and said, “This is personal now.”

Seriously, Barry? “False, divisive charges”? “This is personal now”? Should we cue the “ominous music” sound track now?

Mr. President, how exactly are we supposed to KNOW these charges are FALSE when you’ve been paying your personal army of lawyers to fight every effort anyone has made to verify your life history?

Obama talks about secrecy [:05]

As for DIVISIVE … puh-leeze. If the charges really were FALSE, you could have ended the whole thing years ago and then there would have been nothing left for anyone to be all divisive about, now would there? But no. To you and yours, we’re all just a bunch of dirty RAAAACISTS!

Except … it’s not racist to ask for proof of your eligibility.

In 2000, Bush’s pasty white VP nominee, Dick Cheney, had his eligibility challenged in court. Nobody sealed his records and screamed the American people had no right to ask the question. And when the court ruled, the issue became a non-issue.

Chrissy’s Site Bites @ http://news.webshots.com/photo/2178157290056011884ewTACL

In 2008, at least three cases were filed against pasty white GOP candidate John McCain, all challenging his eligibility based on his birth in the Panama Canal Zone.

Chrissy’s Site Bites @ http://news.webshots.com/photo/2659805310056011884VwHvYk

According to an article at the Michigan Law Review, all of the eligibility cases against McCain were dismissed for the same technicality I’ve seen cited for the dismissal of most (or all) of the Obama eligibility cases. That is, that the plaintiffs lacked “standing.”  As explained in the article,

“It is questionable whether anyone would have standing to challenge a presidential candidate’s eligibility in federal court.”

How weird is it that American voters have NO legal right to demand a presidential candidate prove he has a right to be President?

I don’t understand what “standing” really means, so your guess is as good as mine why a court agreed to rule on the Cheney challenge. Maybe it was because the issue was not his birth, but whether he was a resident of Texas or not. The plaintiffs were Texans, so maybe that gave them standing?

It seems 100% bizarre and unfair that a Texan could challenge a person’s eligibility under the 12th Amendment, but that NO American can challenge a person’s eligibility under the natural born citizen clause that’s actually in the original body of the Constitution!

Anyway …. to get back to the “false, divisive” thing. The way I see it, there has been one huge, important difference between Obama’s and McCain’s birther problems.

A bipartisan legal review and a UNANIMOUS Senate resolution both concluded that McCain was a natural-born citizen, because both his parents were U.S. citizens. This point has no bearing on the questions that exist for Obama’s eligibility.

Two Vice Presidents have fallen into this same not-so-gray area. Democrat VP Al Gore was born in Washington, D.C.; Republican VP Charles Curtis was born in the Kansas Territory.

Personally, I do not believe that President Obama was born in Kenya. But I do think there are a number of compelling questions about Obama’s eligibility as a natural born citizen.

Remember, McCain, Gore and Curtis were not born in actual U.S. states, but the legal consensus was that the Founders meant “natural born” to mean “born of two American citizens”, not “born on U.S. soil.”

I think this makes a ton of sense. Why would the Founders care where you took your first breath? The important thing is … were you raised with divided national loyalties?

And on that issue, there are serious issues where Barack Obama is concerned, issues that SHOULD have been raised, discussed and SETTLED LONG BEFORE HE GOT ELECTED!

  • The man he claims is his father was a British citizen in the Colony of Kenya. Did Barack ever have dual American-British citizenship?
  • There is some question that Ann, Baby Barack’s mother, being only 17 at the time of his birth, was not able to pass citizenship to her son. Is that true? Is it significant?
  • When Barack was a young boy, he was apparently adopted by Lolo Soetoro, his mother’s Indonesian husband and the father of Barack’s half sister. The family moved to Indonesia, where Barack was registered in school as an Indonesian citizen. Some say Indonesia does not allow dual citizenship. What does that mean for Barack’s American citizenship?
  • Obama says that he traveled to Pakistan in 1981. In 1981, it was not possible to enter Pakistan on a U.S. passport. How, then, did Barack get in and out of Pakistan?

These are all SUBSTANTIAL QUESTIONS that people like us were asking back in 2008. We deserved answers. We got nothing but scorn and ridicule.

Since then, even apart from all of the above, we’ve seen serious evidence presented by very credible witnesses that both of Obama’s birth certificates are digital forgeries, that his draft registration has been illegally altered and that the Social Security number he uses actually belongs to someone else. Forging any one of these is a serious crime, so why are we still being treated like wide-eyed, snaggle-toothed whack jobs for wanting answers?

I have documented my research on the birther issue at Chrissy’s Site Bites in my “Birth and Dreams – Fraud in the Obama Narrative” album @ http://news.webshots.com/album/579643269HIpQyD.

I’m sure Obama’s tingly-legged ‘bots will be disappointed to learn that I do not own a tinfoil hat.

Walking back on another ethical issue

There’s nothing illegal about displaying the presidential seal at a political event. Most sitting presidents have done it. What’s obnoxious is the holier than thou policy they announced back in 2010 and are now ignoring.

It reminds me of Obama’s 2007 promise to use public campaign financing if his opponent did. That ethical standard was also abandoned when Obama started raking in millions and McCain had committed to the public spending limit of $84.1 million.

In fact, Obama was the first major-party presidential candidate to turn down public financing for a general election campaign since the system was created in the aftermath of Watergate.

And, being the schmuck he is, he said he was ONLY doing it because we had such a broken system and Republicans are so eeeeeeeeeeeevil that they game that broken system to win elections.

Riiight. It had NOTHING at ALL to do with the hundreds of millions you had pouring in to your campaign. Just like deciding to use the presitigious Presidential Seal at campaign events has NOTHING at ALL to do with your sagging support and crummy poll numbers. /sarc

Selfishness vs Generosity – Left vs Right

Click on graphics to embiggen.

“The left has made it a shtick to feign generosity while directing the government to confiscate unearned money and to redistribute it to hook capable human beings on just-above-subsistence-level incomes.  Those who fall prey to this scheme become the truly selfish citizens who demand that others cater to their every need.  Meanwhile, those who just want to live their own lives, keep the fruit of their own labor, and to be left alone become falsely demonized as ‘selfish’.” ~Kyle Becker

Please read: “Why Liberals Are Selfish” By Kyle Becker – June 20, 2012

http://www.americanthinker.com/2012/06/why_liberals_are_selfish.html

Excerpt:

It is a constant refrain on the left that conservatives are “selfish.” Those who want to work and keep the fruits of their own labor are castigated as self-centered and greedy, while progressives are held out to be all-compassionate and kind for supporting government-run programs for every malady under the sun.

Enough of that rubbish.

Obama’s End Zone Hypocrisy

John McCain (April 29, 2012) — “This is the same president who said, after bin Laden was dead, that we shouldn’t ‘spike the ball’ after the touchdown. And now Barack Obama is not only trying to score political points by invoking Osama bin Laden, he is doing a shameless end-zone dance to help himself get re-elected.” http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/apr/29/obamas-re-election-strategists-resurrect-bin-laden/

The White House marked the first anniversary of the SEAL Team Six raid that killed Osama bin Laden by releasing this campaign ad:

Not surprisingly, the Right has been underwhelmed:

But it seems that even some on the Left are disgusted!

Arianna Huffington (April 30, 2012)

“To turn it [killing bin Laden] into a campaign ad is one of the most despicable things you can do.”

http://hotair.com/archives/2012/04/30/obamas-bin-laden-ad-despicable-says-arianna-huffington/

One thing is clear. Barack Obama is no hero. He’s also not being honest about what Romney said. During the last presidential campaign, the Left was pitching the meme that the GWOT was a failure because Bush hadn’t captured or killed Osama bin Laden.  (Of course, if he had, they would have just changed the name to whoever took over from him.)

ABC report Liz Sidoti asked presidential candidate Mitt Romney: “Would the world be safer if bin laden were caught?”

Romney: “Yes, but by a small percentage increase – a very insignificant increase in safety by virtue of replacing bin Laden with someone else. Zarqawi – we celebrated the killing of Zarqawi, but he was quickly replaced. Global Jihad is not an effort that is being populated by a handful or even a football stadium full of people. It is – it involves millions of people and is going to require a far more comprehensive strategy than a targeted approach for bin laden or a few of his associates.”

Sidoti: “Do you fault the administration for not catching him though? I mean, they’ve had quite a few years going after him.”

Romney: “There are many things that have not been done perfectly in any conduct of war. In the Second World War, we paratroopered in our troops further than they were supposed to be from the beaches. We landed in places on the beaches that weren’t anticipated. Do I fault Eisenhower? No, he won. And I’m nowhere near as consumed with bin Laden as I am concerned about global Jihadist efforts.”

ABC and Obama quote only part of Romney’s actual response, making him sound soft on terror. But Romney clearly was and is nothing of the kind.

The media bias just goes on and on

On November 9, 2010, after Barack Obama had occupied our highest office for two years, The New York Times published a rather bizarre and heretofore unknown biographical nugget about his childhood.

It seems his nanny in Indonesia was an openly gay male transvestite.

Dunno as I care, but it does rather beg the question why such a detail had never gotten out before, you know?

Oh wait. The media protects the Left.

Early in 2008, the New York Slime ran an article suggesting that John McCain had had an affair. There was no EVIDENCE for it, but that didn’t stop them from putting it out there … on the FRONT PAGE.

Meanwhile, they and the rest of the Laughing Stock Media absolutely REFUSED to INVESTIGATE allegations that 2008 Democrat Presidential hopeful John Edwards had fathered a child with his mistress, WHILE he was running for VP on John Kerry’s 2004 ticket AND his wife was fighting an ultimately losing battle with cancer.

2008 Republican presidential candidate John McCain’s affair?  False, yet front page news.

2008 Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards affair?  True, but totally ignored by the “real” news media.

Seriously. Ya think if Sarah Palin had been raised by a tranny nanny, the NYT would have ignored the story until two years after the campaign?

Tell me another one.

I can see November from my house!

We all know we got creamed in 2008. Obama won 9.6 million more popular votes than McCain. And McCain lost by 192 electoral votes, which was more than the 173 he held (365 – 173 = 192).

So imagine my surprise when I compared GALLUP’S 2008 Party Strength by State data with the 2008 election results by State. Going into that election, Democrats had a 10% or higher advantage over Republicans in 30 States … but Obama only won 29 States!

I’m thinking that talk radio and the internet had a much bigger impact on the 2008 election than I ever thought and that Democrats, who can now boast of a 10% or higher advantage in only 12 States, are in a world of hurt.

Timeline shows Bush, McCain warning Dems of financial and housing crisis; meltdown [4:00]

The Bush Admin and Senator McCain warned repeatedly about Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac and what thus became the 2008 financial crisis — starting in 2002.

Democrats resisted and kept to their party line, extending loans to people who couldn’t afford them.

The video includes quotes from Barney Frank touting the alleged financial soundness of Fanny and Freddie and from Chuck Schmucker about how Fanny and Freddie were doing “a very, very good job.”
