Below is a link to the video showing the restoration of the little icon pictured above (before and after) with the translations of the inscriptions. If you watch it as a spiritual meditation, I think you’ll find that it goes far beyond just being an interesting look at an art restoration project.
I couldn’t help but think about God working on our souls as I watched the restoration. During the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus told us, “So be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.” – Matt 5:48. Thinking you’re a good person, because you haven’t done anything illegal or dastardly lately, is about as close to being perfect as this icon was at the beginning.
I spent quite a lot of time hunting down what the inscription means and I’m so glad I did! The letters on the top line, on either side of Mary’s halo, means Theotokos, which is Greek for Mother of God, the doctrine that Mary was not merely the uterine incubator, but Jesus’ true, physical mother.
The small letters on the right by Jesus’ halo are a Greek abbreviation for Jesus Christ. His pose with a book and two fingers raised, which is called Christ Pantokrator, represents His role as the All-Powerful, Omniscient One who “will come to judge the living and the dead.”
The hardest part for me to figure out were the letters on the left, above Mary’s shoulder. I finally deciphered it as being Greek for “The Mercy.” This reminds me of the last prayer of the Rosary that starts, “Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, Our life, our sweetness, and our hope.”
This provides such a beautiful balance to the Christ Pantokrator. I love how she presents Him to us with her right hand, while holding Him close with her left. Their big eyes and the expressions on their faces speak to me of how much they knew of what He would suffer.
In the conclusion of his encyclical Veritatis Splendor (1993), St. Pope John Paul II wrote, “Mary is Mother of Mercy because her Son, Jesus Christ, was sent by the Father as the revelation of God’s mercy (cf Jn 3:16-18). Christ came not to condemn but to forgive, to show mercy (cf Mt 9:13). And the greatest mercy of all is found in His being in our midst and calling us to meet Him and to confess, with Peter, that He is “the Son of the living God” (Mt. 16:16). No human sin can erase the mercy of God, or prevent Him from unleashing all His triumphant power, if we only call upon Him.”

END TIMES PROPHECY: The Easter season ended yesterday with Pentecost Sunday. Today, I am beginning a new spiritual feature. I believe the Tribulation period may have started last fall and that we are most urgently in need of the guidance being offered by God through His seers and Bible teachers. My plan is to post videos, which will mostly be too long, but give you in text form the bit I think is most important.
Today’s video[14:55] talks about the vision St. Malachy (pron. mal-a-kee) had in 1139, in which he was shown all the popes from his day until the end. Over the centuries, his vision has proven to be remarkably accurate. St. Pope John Paul II was the third from the end. Pope Benedict XVI was the second from the end. And Pope Francis is the last.

MIDTERMS: Rep. Chris Jacobs of the 27th New York congressional district, who once promised to protect the Second Amendment rights of his constituents, has decided he favors a ban on the AR-15. Since this puts him at odds with the party, he’s not running for re-election.
“Automatic” means you can fire many bullets with one trigger pull. “Semi-automatic” means you can shoot one bullet with one trigger pull, then the next bullet moves into place. Almost every gun on the civilian market is semi-automatic, including revolvers.
Democrats want to ban anything that doesn’t require you to physically do something time consuming to your weapon to get the next bullet into the chamber. These include single shot pistols, double barrel shotguns, pump or bolt action rifles/shotguns, and historical guns, like breech loaders, used in military re-enactments.
PRO-WHAT: The terms “pro-life” and “pro-choice” are essentially meaningless, which is why I prefer to identify as “anti-abortion.” There are people who identify as “pro-life”, like Joe Biden, who support abortion on demand up to natural birth. And there are people who identify as “pro-choice” who support sharp restrictions on abortion, such as allowing it only during the first three months. In addition, Gallup’s historical record shows that people’s identifications are heavily influenced by media coverage, suggesting they themselves don’t know what the terms mean.

In addition, True the Vote has given state lawmakers cell phone tracking data showing that certain individuals visited ballot drop boxes an average of 21 times. These people, believed to have been ballot traffickers, visited ballot boxes a total of 5,700 times.
Who needs to go more than once, or maybe if you’re going back for your elderly parents or something, twice? I don’t understand why ballot boxes are even a thing. I’ve been homebound by disability for decades and have always submitted my ballots through the USPS.

EASTER MEDITATION: Message from Jesus dated May 21, 2022, as reported by Luz de Maria, an Argentinian seer and stigmatist [7:16] – The reference to the skin disease (presumably monkeypox, unless something worse is coming) was in Luz de Maria’s messages from Jesus on July 12, 2021 and from St. Michael the Archangel on Sept. 1, 2020 and Dec. 5, 2020. The plants recommended for treating the skin disease are calendula, mugwort, nettle, and geranium.
ELECTION FRAUD: Two Democrats in Arizona have been indicted for illegally harvesting ballots for their candidates in 2020. Alma Yadira Juarez has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge, while Guillermina Fuentes awaits her court date. She faces four felony charges, which include paying people to let her fill out their ballots.
Fuentes appears to have been the ringleader of a sophisticated ballot harvesting operation in San Luis. A former mayor of San Luis who now serves as an elected board member of the Gadsden Elementary School District, she is well known by the voters.
It’s interesting how hard the AP reporter (link below) worked to downplay the significance of this woman’s fraud. After Stacy and Hillary lost, Dems and their shills were positively SHRIEKING about election fraud. HYDE AMENDMENT: A group of 48 Senate Republicans sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer stating that they will vote to block any bill that doesn’t include the Hyde amendment or other pro-life protections. The Daily Caller reports: “In the letter, the lawmakers say any legislation that undermines the Hyde Amendment, which ensures that U.S. tax dollars are not spent on abortions, will be shot down. The lawmakers added that the Hyde Amendment has saved close to 2.5 million preborn children over the course of 45 years.”

FAUXTUS has claimed numerous times that the Second Amendment was never “absolute,” but always included prohibitions of certain weapons as well as limits on who could own them. That’s not even close to true. There were no restrictions on gun ownership until the 1930s.
We have a background check and disclosure process to try and prevent unstable or dangerous people from owning firearms. Disqualifying conditions include criminal convictions, dishonorable discharge from the armed forces, mental disorders, and narcotics abuse.
When Hunter Biden filled out his application for a handgun in 2018, he did not reveal his history of drug abuse. He got the gun and he handled it so negligently that his then-girlfriend tried to dispose of it, because she was afraid of what he’d do with it.
Hunter has never been charged. And since his dad has never pressed for his son to face justice, we can conclude that when he says “we must do more”, he does not mean “we must vigorously enforce the gun laws we already have.”

It’s pretty much impossible to accurately assess how many times a day a firearm was used to save a life. For one thing, the media is loathe to report on these “good guy with gun” stories. For another, a crime averted is often a crime unreported.

The NRA website has an article from October 27, 2019 by Michael D. Faw. It’s call “Truth About Good Guys With Guns” (link below). One interesting thing he notes is that rising numbers of gun sales has coincided with decreasing numbers of gun crimes.
Faw also reports that two studies, using different methodologies, estimated that guns are used in self-defense in America somewhere between 55,000 and 2.5 million times per year. “Even if the lowest number here (55,000) is the most-accurate, this would mean that Americans use guns to defend themselves at more than four times the homicide rate.”
The NRA website also has a regular feature called “The Armed Citizen” where stories about armed citizens stopping crimes are gathered. One example:

Investigating officials were able to determine that the person had been shot after allegedly initiating an assault on a person in a parked vehicle. The individual sitting in the car was also armed, however, and was able to defend himself, shooting the attacker. As of press time, no charges had been filed in the investigation. On a personal note, what Zeldin says about no consequences for making fake accusation in New York is true. We saw this up close and in person when a teen we had taken in was accused of “stealing” a soda. The manager call us and the teen went down immediately to pay for soda, but it turned out she had a grudge against this teen for accidentally outing the manager’s adulterous affair to her husband! So Dearest had to take time off work, Teen had to take time off school, and her public defender had to show up in court FOUR SEPARATE TIMES, because the prosecutor couldn’t be bothered to even show up to either pursue the charge or dismiss it. That manager also NEVER had to show up or suffer any consequences AT ALL for her petty, mean-spirited, and costly action. Finally, the judge threw the case out in disgust.

MISSISSIPPI: On Tuesday morning, the remains of what appears to be a 16-week-old fetus was found amid sewage at a waste treatment plant in Natchez, Mississippi. REAGAN SHOOTER: The man who shot and nearly killed President Ronald Reagan in 1981 was found not guilty by reason of insanity in 1982, and remained hospitalized until 2006. He was allowed to live with his mother beginning in 2016 and has now been released completely from supervision. Federal prosecutors, mental health professionals and his legal team all agree that they have no concerns about his mental state.

BORDER: A judge has blocked the administration’s attempt to remove Title 42. I don’t know why it’s even a thing to reject people trying to cross the border – legally or illegally – who are sick. One of the main purposes of Ellis Island was to do physical exams to weed out people carrying contagious diseases and send them back.
CATHOLIC: [5:30] – Deacon Harold shares a recent negative experience he had speaking basic Catholic teaching at a supposedly Catholic school.
CHICAGO: Oak Park and River Forest High School administrators have decided that teachers will no longer be able to dock students for missing class, misbehaving in school, or failing to turn in their assignments. This list apparently came about as a result of looking at what failing Black students do most often to, you know, fail. Artificially inflating their grades isn’t going to change anything. They’ll still be as lazy and illiterate as ever. So basically, this is simply another move by elitists to ensure that none of those damn ghetto kids ever, Ever, EVER challenges their own precious offspring for a slice of the pie.
DIVERSITY: Inspire Insight and the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) are collaborating to rank the “viewpoint diversity” of corporations. The purpose is evaluating to what extent “companies respect their stakeholders’ freedom of expression and freedom of religion or belief as a standard part of doing business.” The scores are based on product and service offerings, human resources and employee giving, and political engagement and charitable giving.
EASTER MEDITATION: Obviously, private revelation and prophecy must be prayerfully discerned. [11:55] – To me, the most interesting point in the video above was that, on Jan. 15, 2022, a visionary named Lorna reported that St. Michael the Archangel, “The Archangel of the End Times,” told her the Tribulation had begun. Given the state of the world, this seems likely. So, if true, I guess those of us who were hoping for a pre-Trib Rapture are out of luck.
ETHIOPIA: In 2005, the country legalized abortion, supposedly to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality from illegal procedures. A recent analysis of the ensuing statistics shows it has actually led to an increase in both.
FLORIDA: [4:03] – A 10-year-old boy in Lee county was arrested and perp walked for posting a shooting threat against his elementary school. Lee County has a “fake threat, real consequences” policy.
An 18-year-old boy in Hillsborough County has been arrested for posting a photo with guns and tactical vest, plus a message asking for directions to the nearest school. He has been charged with making a written or electronic threat to conduct a mass shooting or act of terrorism.
MONTANA: The state has eliminated the option to change the sex listed on a birth certificate to align with a so-called “gender identity,” pointing out correctly that sex “is an immutable genetic fact, which is not changeable, even by surgery.”
POPE FRANCIS: Continuing in his well-established pattern of politicizing the church, Pope Francis skipped over higher-ranking prelates in the U.S. to choose Bishop Robert McElroy of San Diego, California, for the College of Cardinals. The main job the Cardinals do is elect new popes, usually from among their ranks, though that isn’t required.
McElroy is infamous for being a central figure in the coverup surrounding now-disgraced former Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, who was charged with serial sexual abuses. McElroy also supports the LGBTQ movement, the ordination of female deacons, and allowing pro-abortion Catholic politicians as well as the divorced and “remarried” to receive Communion.
Among the higher ranking prelates Francis skipped over is San Francisco Archbishop Cordileone, who recently banned Nancy Pelosi from receiving Holy Eucharist in any Catholic Church within the archdiocese. I’m with Cordileone, Sample, and the others who remember that receiving unworthily heaps further condemnation on these poor sinners’ already overburdened souls.

TRAVESTY: According to the moral teaching of the Roman Catholic Church, sodomy and other homosexual acts are considered a “grave travesty” and the church maintains that “under no circumstances can they be approved.” However, same-sex attraction itself is not a sin; all human beings are deserving of dignity regardless of race, creed, gender, or sexual orientation. You know, “love the sinner, hate the sin.”
UFOs: In May, a House Intelligence subcommittee held the first hearing about unexplained aerial phenomena in 50 years. I learned all I need to know about UFOs from Alien Intrusion: Unmasking a Deception by Gary Bates. I recommend both the book and the movie. I believe this information will be critical in the near future.
VAXXX: A research team at University College London reports that those who have taken the AstraZeneca COVID shot have suffered from Guillain-Barré syndrome by 20% above the norm. They did not find the same increase among those who got the Pfizer or Moderna shots, which use a different technology.
WHO: Representatives of 194 nations, including the U.S., will soon decide whether to grant the WHO the authority to manage future pandemics globally, including the power to sanction countries that don’t comply. These regulations would foster a “one-world government” in the name of public health. The globalists have also been trying to get their foot in the door of national sovereignty via climate and gun legislation. We know they’re going to succeed eventually, but the Bible doesn’t tell us exactly how.
WISCONSIN: The statue of Civil War hero Hans Christian Heg has been restored and rededicated at the Wisconsin State Capitol. Heg was an abolitionist who sustained mortal wounds fighting against the South. In 2020, a historically illiterate BLM mob had torn down, vandalized, decapitated, and thrown the statue into a nearby river.
CATHOLIC: On Friday, scumbags vandalized St. Augustine Catholic Church in Park Slope, Brooklyn, damaging two angel statues, desecrating the consecrated Body of Christ, and making off with a valuable 19th century Tabernacle. The sacristy – a room behind the altar where clergy prepare to perform mass – was also raided, with a safe cut open. Nothing was inside.
EASTER MEDITATION: [4:33] – This video made me think of Purgatory. This is no doubt a very imperfect metaphor, but I’m thinking that Jesus dying for our sins is kind of like this guy salvaging this disgustingly dirty rug from the trash bin. It needed a lot of work before it was clean enough to take into someone’s home or, in Jesus’ case, present to the Father. I’m reminded of C.S. Lewis, who said his church didn’t teach there was a Purgatory, but that he hoped it existed.

EDUCATION: An NEA survey found that more than half of our current teachers are planning to either retire or change professions. Next fall should be really interesting. Wouldn’t it be awesome if parents were issued education tax vouchers to spend where they choose? I have this dream of teachers opening small schools where they can teach what they want the way they want and parents being able to pick the one that fits best. The teachers would undoubtedly make less and have fewer benefits, but they’d have way more job satisfaction. And we would have a lot more kids who are actually educated.

She said that, shortly before Marine 1 arrived, a whole lot of scary guys with high powered rifles deployed all around the south lawn. They don’t typically show them on news footage, but they are definitely there.
KINDNESS: When a group of Colorado high schoolers learned that a sixth grader had been frozen out by his classmates on yearbook signing day, they literally lined up to fill his book with more than 100 signatures included paragraphs with words of encouragement, advice and even phone numbers. After that, the jerks in his own class who had refused to sign his book suddenly decided it would be cool and asked to sign it!
LOUISIANA: [9:23] – This is unbelievably horrible. And it makes me so angry that these two got bail, while people who committed misdemeanors on January 6 were denied and sat in jail for months!
MAGNIFICAT: It says a lot about the state of Western Civilization that so many people have never heard this beautiful canticle. Also known as the Song of Mary, the Canticle of Mary and, in the Byzantine tradition, the Ode of the Theotokos, its text is taken from Luke 1:46-55 where it is spoken by Mary when she visits her cousin Elizabeth. The Magnificat is one of the eight most ancient Christian hymns and perhaps the earliest Marian hymn.
GRAMMY NOTES: Our daughter forgot her homework. Her teacher docked them a grade per day for lateness, so she wanted us to bring it to her. To teach them the value of our time and the cost of gas, we had started charging them very reasonable fees for such services. (In other news, when they found out what it would cost them to get rides to and from the mall, they suddenly discovered public transportation. LOL) As I recall, our daughter paid us $18 to get her homework there on time! Life lesson learned. She didn’t forget again AND she is now an outstanding wife, mother, and Army officer.

KARMA: On Friday, the manager of the San Francisco Giants baseball team stayed in the dugout during the National Anthem. He said it was because of the Uvalde shooting. The flag and the anthem are extra meaningful this weekend and, frankly, I’m not getting how disrespecting the sacrifice of dead soldiers who chose to defend this man’s right to be an a-hole is somehow showing respect for a bunch of little kids who were gunned down by a pissed off teenager. But whatever … his team lost 5-1 to the Cincinnati Reds. Maybe his team was thrown off their game with embarrassment over his woke virtue signaling.
NARWHAL TUSKS: The graphic above would do any movie justice. I imagine the trailer would show the handsome hero (with piercing blue eyes, of course) bravely battling a vicious terrorist brandishing not one, but two knives, using nothing but a narwhal tusk. And it all happens on London Bridge. Sounds like a great summer blockbuster, right? Except it actually happened in 2019. LOL (N.b., this is the first I heard of it.)
GRAMMY NOTES: Prayers please for my baby girl, Marine Princess. She had a pituitary tumor removed on May 5 and was recovering well until they took the stents out. She’s back in the hospital for exploratory surgery because the nose bleeds won’t stop. (FYI: They access the pituitary through the nose.)
This is sad, but also kind of fascinating and funny in a depraved and pathetic way.
After the Uvalde shooting, a guy named Jason R. Nauertz (@MyCancerJourney) tweeted that, after he had identified one of the Uvalde victims as his nephew, he was approached at his home by a representative for Gov. Abbot who allegedly offered the family money to say we don’t need stronger gun laws.
“He was asked to leave and said that if we speak about this conversation we will be facing charges and possibly worse. We responded with f*** you, try me and find out. Then we were told people get hurt and disappear all the time. F*** Greg Abbott and this harassment while we all mourn.”
Andy Ngo looked into the man and found out he lives in Spokane, WA, not Texas. Ngo also revealed that he has a long history of pushing out fantabulous claims on his Twitter account. E.g., claiming “I’m black” and “I have black children”, while his other on-line accounts show a guy who is even whiter than Shaun King.
Ngo and others did a deep dive into this loon’s online accounts and found that he has claimed that he also had a nephew who was shot and killed by Spokane police and that nobody cared. He’s also mentioned a brother who was killed in Iraq and works at the airport and is gay.
He has claimed he was in the military from 1998-2010, deployed multiple times, was a prisoner of war for 31 days, and received the Purple Heart. He also enjoys shooting at vehicles driving by bearing Trump flags.
He has also tweeted that his job in the military was “hacking”, which leaves one wondering how he became a POW or was wounded. I’m no expert, but my impression from stuff my deployed kids have said is that the techies and nerds stayed on the FOB, where it was safe. Also, Ngo looked it up and says nobody named Jason R. Nauertz ever received the Purple Heart.
A tweeter posted the screenshot above in response to his vet claims. I’m not positive, but it looks as if a current search of his military status showed Aug. 1, 1998, as the last date of service. He has said he joined the military in 1998. Based on his stated age and birth date (both mentioned in tweets), he likely enlisted in the spring, was graduated from high school in May, and left for the ten week Army Basic Training course shortly thereafter. If that 8/1/98 date really is his last military record, then he washed out before he finished Basic.
He has also claimed he was a 9/11 first responder who “dug for days.” If this had happened, it would have been while he was allegedly in the Army, when it couldn’t have happened. The first responders were all New York City police and fire fighters. The military also did not officially assist in clean up; as I recall, all active duty troops were ordered back to base following the attack. I dunno if Robin Williams helped out on the dig or not. I didn’t find any evidence of it when I googled. But hey, if Jason can imagine being on the dig, then he can imagine Robin Williams was there also.
Jason’s health problems are apparently the stuff of legend. On Jan. 8, 2021, Jason tweeted that he was dying of cancer. In May, he says he was being sued. Then, in June, he claimed he had just had a liver transplant. I’m pretty sure they don’t waste perfectly good organs on people with cancer.
But wait, it gets better. One month after he gets his brand new liver, he tweeted, “My cancer has spread and is affecting my liver. I’ve been given 2 options. Prepare for the end or get the VA to cover treatment. They just denied me.” … but somebody paid for a liver transplant and is providing the thou$ands/month the lifetime of anti-rejection meds cost? Riiiiight. But, hey, you gotta admire the guy’s range, right?
On Sept. 17, 2021, he said he was still being denied treatment by the VA (maybe because he was never actually in the Army?) and suggested his exposure from 9/11 (that never happened) caused his cancer (that he probably doesn’t have). “So now my kids lose their dad for doing the right thing.” Does this guy know what “right” even is?
Twelve days later, his wife (if he even has one) tweeted that his lung had collapsed and he had been put into a medically induced coma. Just two weeks later, this appeared.
Wow, has this guy got bad luck or what?! The previous April, he said he had had a stroke in 2017, after which he had to learn to walk and talk all over again. Then, as if he doesn’t have enough problems, just five days after his second stroke, he was back in an induced coma with double pneumonia. Good thing he has a GoFundMe to help with all these medical expenses the VA is refusing. I gotta wonder though … I’ve been hospitalized many times, but have never been dressed in prison orange. Hmm …
So, just to recap. Between June 1, 2021 and October 6, 2021, Jason had a liver transplant, a collapsed lung, a stroke, double pneumonia and had been put into an induced coma twice, all while battling cancer. Yet, astonishingly (what a trooper!), he was well enough on October 7, 2021, to write a nasty tweet about Sen. Tom Cotton.
In a follow up tweet, he even claimed that he had testified at Cotton’s trial. I know for a fact that the Army takes rape charges very seriously and that if Cotton had done it and been convicted, he’d be in Leavenworth. As it is, his Wikipedia bio says he was honorably discharged.
I’m sitting here wondering how Jason never got COVID, real or imaginary. I mean, he’s had everything else! And there was a pandemic! But I saw no mention of it and I can’t personally search his Twitter account cuz he deleted it.
However, alert readers did screen captures of his claim to having had a second liver transplant in the first week of May 2022, just three weeks before he said he was called upon to go identify his nephew in Uvalde.
A whole bunch of tweeters cried b.s. on that one, citing their personal experiences with liver transplant surgery, which comes with a months-long and very painful recovery with mandatory isolation, because of the immune suppression drugs. So anyway, after Ngo and some other tweeters outed him, Nauertz claimed he had been hacked and deleted his online presence. Bwahahahaha … the Army hacker was hacked … bwahahaha.
