CHAUVIN: Derek Chauvin’s appeal will be based on prosecutorial misconduct.
Jack Cashill explains. “Prosecutors knew they had a problem. To make the murder charge stick in the Chauvin case, they had to secure an ‘asphyxia’ diagnosis from a physician. If justice were the goal, prosecutors would have taken two critical steps to assure that the medical testimony supported the charge of murder. The first was to run a controlled experiment to see if Chauvin’s actions could possibly have resulted in the death of George Floyd.”
They didn’t do that. However, someone else did. The experiment found that the Floyd-stand-in suffered absolutely no ill effects from being held in the same prone restraint as Floyd. There was no impact on the oxygen level or the pulse of the restrained man for the full 10 minutes and no other ill effects at the time or two days later when the stand-in was interviewed.
The other thing the prosecutors should have done, but didn’t “was to make the court and the defense aware of the potential compromise of its star medical witness, Hennepin County Medical Examiner Dr. Andrew Baker.”
As my alert readers may recall, Dr. Baker’s autopsy initially ruled that Floyd’s body showed no signs of traumatic asphyxiation or strangulation. It noted that at the time of his death, Floyd was suffering from coronary artery disease, hypertensive heart disease, and a toxic dose of lethal drugs. Apparently, the prosecutors were unhappy with that finding and pressured him to change his findings before he testified.
COVID-19: WATCH THIS [16:13] – Peter Daszak once called the idea that the coronavirus virus had leaked from the Wuhan lab a “conspiracy theory.” According to him, there weren’t even any bats at the Wuhan lab. Now we learn that not only were there bats, but there were also humanized mice for engineering bat viruses to make them infectious to humans.
DOMINION: The same unapproved software has been found on Dominion voting machines in both Pennsylvania and Michigan. There is no valid reason for that software to be installed on any American voting machine. Not only can it be used to steal elections, but also its use is undetectable.

What Jordan replies is couched differently, but is something I learned a long time ago about having fruitful discussions with people who disagree with me about something or other. Specifically, I found it necessary to work backwards from the disagreement to find out where the other person’s logic train began.
In Euclidean geometry, there are three things that are not proven, but simply defined: point, line, plane. From these definitions, we can move logically step-by-step through “If this then that” proofs to learn other things that are true.
Symbolic Logic uses similar logical proofs to learn what is true and what is not true, but these proofs start with statements about reality that are accepted, not proven. If two intelligent people have arrived at different conclusions about reality, it is often because they began with different definitions.
Occasionally, I have been able to show this to another person and moved them from contempt to some level of understanding, if not agreement.

PAHKEESTAHN: File this under “Things that make you go hmm” – A patient in one of the largest hospitals in Pakistan’s biggest city died after being operated on by a former security guard posing as a doctor.
An administrator said, “We can’t keep up with what every doctor and what everyone is doing at all times. It’s a large hospital.”
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY: Gabrielle, a second grader in Illinois, liked to bring her Bible to school and read it during recess. A teacher told her “You just can’t be doing that,” and took it away from her. No student nor any parent of any student had complained about Gabrielle’s reading her Bible or had even mentioned it.
The ACLJ sent the school a letter educating the educators about the fact that, for more than fifty years, the Supreme Court has ruled that students do not “shed their constitutional rights to freedom of speech or expression at the schoolhouse gate.”
The school thanked the ACLJ for the information and removed all restrictions on Gabrielle’s reading. It seems the school wasn’t trying to squash Gabrielle’s rights; they were just scared spitless of the ACLU.
SUBSIDIARITY: From William Brooks at The Epoch Times – “The Catholic doctrine of subsidiarity means that interventions intended to alter and improve the human condition should generally be taken at the level of society closest to where they will have the greatest impact.
“The idea developed as part of Catholic social teaching, which states that ‘what individuals can accomplish by their own initiative and efforts should not be taken from them by a higher authority.’ As an organizing principle it means that civic matters should be handled at the lowest, smallest or least centralized level of administration. Where possible, cultural and political decisions should be taken at the local level rather than by a distant central authority.
“On the right of the broad political center, conservatives and classical liberals tend to have a high regard for the principle of subsidiarity. … The Left, generally understood as those who favor some form of socialism, take a dim view of subsidiarity. American progressives view decentralization as an obstacle to the development of the modern welfare state.”
