I have to admit there was a moment in the debate last Thursday, January 26th in Jacksonville, FL that really came out of left field for me. I honestly didn’t see it coming, but why shouldn’t I have? It seems so obvious after the fact, with the debate being in Florida and all. That moment came when Newt Gingrich brought up the idea of building a colony on the moon. Of course, it was quickly mocked by Mitt Romney as absolutely ridiculous in a time when the economy is in such bad shape. Romney also chided Gingrich, suggesting that he was playing the politician by going from place to place offering what each locale wanted.
For anyone just entering the campaign, perhaps viewers watching their first debate, this entire exchange looked like a huge victory for Mitt Romney and a crushing defeat for Newt Gingrich. But, as we all know, things in politics are not always as they seem. Was Newt really just pandering to the Florida crowd? His debate responses from December 10th in Iowa would suggest otherwise. In fact, video footage from that debate shows him giving virtually the same answers.
But what about the idea that he’d be crazy to suggest going to the moon while America (and the rest of the world) is on the verge of economic collapse? If you listen closely to Newt’s entire debate response, he wasn’t actually suggesting that the government colonize the moon, but rather that the private sector be encouraged and empowered to do so. In fact, if he could have given the response he wanted to give, I’m quite certain it would resemble this rather inspiring speech he had given in Cocoa, FL just one day prior.
With all that being said, isn’t it a bit “crazy” in this day and age to be talking about going to the moon? It’s like some pipe dream of days long past. But as Newt describes in Cocoa, it’s dreams like these that have inspired and continue to expire our next generation of young scientists all around the world. The irony in all of this is that on the day before the Jacksonville debate, January 25th, this YouTube video went viral.
It seems that two Canadian high school students decided to launch the first Lego man into space. They videotaped this project to share with the rest of the world, because young people really do still have dreams…and one of them is to go into space. It’s one thing to be realistic and practical, to live within our means, but it something else entirely to lack any sort of vision for the future. I don’t want to be part of the crowd that stands around chanting, “Yes we can!” I want to be part of the ones that make it happen!

THE ‘TAKE CARE OF ME’ SOCIETY IS WRECKING THE USA
I’ve been meaning to write about this,so I’ll take the opportunity.
It seems there will never be another ‘greatest generation’ that our parents and grandparents were a part of.The reasons are myriad.Today’s generation lacks the moral core founded in God and family which motivated them to sacrifice for the common cause.A will to win,as it were.Enduring personal hardship to see those fighting to keep us free had everything they needed.
Today’s culture is rooted in having things done for them and holding no values other than taking the easy road.I can think of no scenario where a majority of Americans would accept even a minimum of deprivation for any reason, even their own security.Look at the unions. They would rather the states go bankrupt or see their fellow workers thrown out of work rather than compromise their pay increases, retirement and generous medical plans.
You see multiple generations of families who live on the government dole and make no attempt to fend for themselves.Asking them to pick up trash or mow some grass and they feel like you’re trying to make ‘slaves’ out of them.Newt suggested giving some kids jobs as janitors to earn their own money and look at the hell he caught. Our foreign enemies know they don’t need to attack us physically. Our national will has atrophied and without strong leadership we will continue to slouch toward Gomorrah.
ROMNEY SPOKESMAN BEHIND EFFORT TO REDISTRICT ALLEN WEST OUT OF EXISTENCE
If the GOP tries to get rid of one of the few real men we have, there will be absolute hell to pay.
I guarantee it!

Two guys were discussing how sad it was that there were no “Welcome Home” parades for our Iraq veterans.
The word spread like wildfire and tens of thousands showed up along with hundreds of bands and floats.
Maybe the Obamas hate the military, but these patriots beg to differ.
While I may be all about Newt right now, this election is not. I know I’ve been posting a lot on Gingrich lately and don’t mean for this to be a “Gingrich zone.” I’ve been on my big push lately, ’cause we’ve had early voting all week in FL, with the primary wrapping up on Tuesday. I’m an anti-Mitt person and FL’s winner-take-all primary (50 delegates!) has me really focused on defeating him here. Since Santorum’s polling around 10%, I’m really hoping a lot of his supporters will put their vote towards Newt, ’cause polls indicate that he’s their likely second choice.
I intended to put more information on the other candidates’ pages, but just haven’t been focused on that. Please feel free to add anything candidate-specific directly to the comments section on their pages. I’m hoping we’ll all be able to use that as a resource to answer questions about candidates and find some positive information, instead of just all the negativity that’s been going around. (NOTE: Negative items are not discouraged, but hopefully are written in an informative way!)
I hope you’ve all been enjoying the info. We’ve really been ramping things up this month for a big slow-down next month leading up to the all new not-so-super-anymore Tuesday…yay!!!
Anybody have their primary coming up next month?
Are things getting tense near you, yet?
I find it nearly impossible to keep up with the information overload that comes right before an election!

GINGRICH BLOWS CHANCE IN CRUCIAL FINAL DEBATE
Nobody ever heard of Bain Capital until a few weeks ago.If Gingrich survives you can add another name:Sheldon Adelson. He’s a billionaire casino magnate from Las Vegas and the 8th richest man in the country. He and Newt became close friends when he was House Speaker and they share the goal of moving the capital of Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.Going into the South Carolina primary Newt was broke and he was reeling from the attack ads in Iowa.Adelson pumped $5 million into his super pac which breathed life into his flagging campaign. After his primary victory in South Carolina Adelson’s wife gave his pac another 5 mil.Without his friend’s help,he would have been finished.Look for the Adelsons to join the Koch brothers and Richard Mellon Scaife as whipping boys for the left.
I wasn’t feeling well this morning when I got home,so I decided to take a little nap that ended up being over 4 hours(about what I usually get at night).I wasn’t going to post at all,but decided somebody might stop by here.GP,I can’t tell you how glad I am that you’re here. You have such a wealth of knowledge to share you’re a real asset to our merry band.

I don’t think Newt’s accusers ever apologized or returned the fine he paid just to shut them up so Congress could get some work done for the people who elected them.

AN OPEN LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES,BARACK H. OBAMA
Dear Dickhead:
I have a friend that I’m quite fond of.You might say I even worship him.You know what that’s like,right?
He once said: “Suffer the little children to come to me, and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of God.”
In the 20 years you sat and listened to that anti-semitic racist gasbag with the unmitigated gall to call himself a reverend, you may have heard of Him.
His name is Jesus Christ.
‘PRO-CHOICE’ OBAMA FORCES RELIGIOUS INSTITUTIONS TO PAY FOR ABORTION DRUGS
The problem I have with that phrase is what are the choices?
I guess the term ‘pro-abortion’ is just too harsh to label those who delight in slaughtering innocent lives.
Listen, you arrogant sonofabitch–this might be a game to you,BUT THIS IS NOT A GAME!!!!!
People are losing their jobs, their homes, their investments are shrinking, people are eating pasta because they can’t afford meat, shop at the goodwill store for clothes to send their kids for indoctrination by union teachers and have three generations of families living in one house because they have nowhere else to go.November is coming, pally.Game over.
DIVA:NEWT WON’T ATTEND DEBATES WITHOUT CHEERING AUDIENCE
Newt:GET A GRIP!!!
You were losing the South Carolina primary until you put the smackdown on David ‘BIG HAIR’ Gregory, much to the approval of the crowd. The media knew it,which is why Brian ‘too cute for words’ Williams ordered no applause at the first Florida debate.Remember how you got pummeled about whining over having to sit in the back of Air Force One when Klintoon was in office? You were just a feckless Speaker then. Now you want to take a job from their Chosen One.You fancy yourself as a great debater, but Romney ate your lunch. You can’t debate your way to the presidency.Stop bitching about the media and articulate your position on the issues.Every republican knows it’s an unfair fight.Man up and run your race.

OBAMA PRAISES SEALS AFTER DARING RESCUE OF U.S. AID WORKER IN SOMALIA
I’m sure he gave his approval for the raid. What a brave leader he is.I caught the Hannity rerun at 1AM as I was getting ready for work.Fat-face Luntz had his focus group and two Obamabots, one black woman and one white guy both brought up that Obama ‘got’ Bin Laden. This will be a recurring theme in the upcoming Obama ‘can we bullshit enough people again’ campaign.
Democrats are famous for holding back dirt until they can use it to screw their opponents.
Remember Mark Foley? They held on to his suggestive e-mails until the day after the deadline for getting someone else on the ballot in 2006.With the media beating the story to death, they managed to get a majority in the House they held until 2010.These people are scum, but they know how to win.

Got this in email from one of my favorite writers, Kyle-Anne Shiver.
Dear Readers:
Well, someone had to do it. Whether we like it or not, the liberals will do all they can to instil fear of Mormonism among secularists and mainline Christians alike, if Mitt Romney is the nominee. Ignoring this factor in “electability” appraisals is just not smart politics.
Yet, the Republican establishment seems to believe that if they don’t talk about it, then no one will. What an adorable fantasy.
I’ve written my first column on the subject at American Thinker:
N.b., the text below is just from the email, not the text of the column. Click to link for the column.
One of the things which disturbs me most of all about Romney’s electability is that he has seemed utterly unprepared for the easily predictable attacks against his private-equity brand of capitalism, his exceptional wealth, his tax returns and his political flip-flopping record. This very unpreparedness strikes right at the heart of his supposed high-level managerial competence credential. A CEO, who gets caught flat-footed with issues that anyone with half a brain could see coming a mile away, looks like he has been riding a golden-goose luck train to get where he is. Anything but competent, especially when one considers the fact he has been running for president for 6 whole years.
What worries me most about Romney is that he seems petulant and peeved when assertively questioned. And I can’t help but wonder, then, how he will deal with the inevitable attacks against his Mormonism when they come at him fast and furious during a general election against the no-holds-barred master of Alinsky jujitsu, Barack Obama.
Will Romney become all flustered and start a defensive lecture about not having a religious test for office? If his behavior regarding Bain, taxes and flip-flopping is any indicator, then I predict he will. And that petulant squirming will make him look to the general public as anything but presidential.
Elections often turn on intangibles. Perceptions are easily manipulated in this age of propagandized media. Obama cannot run on his record with the American people. His only refuge will be in portraying Romney as too “weird” to be trusted with power and too rich to understand the plight of normal Americans. In Mitt’s Bain Capital record, his super-wealth, his opulent mansions and his bishop status in Mormonism, Obama will have struck pure gold.
Just things for all Republican primary voters to consider.
Full disclosure: I am supporting Newt Gingrich, first and foremost on the electability factor.
